I would LOVE a doctor who movie. If they did one they should try to do something like The Five Doctors. Or something where he meets a former self.... or companion. Like Rose.

If they do another film, they'd better not make it like the Eighth Doctor's debut. McGann was a terrific Doctor, but the film didn't feel like Doctor Who - too American, somehow. I hope Rose won't be in it.

Gigglemeister I read in a article that He isn't leaving and he will be in three tv specials in 2009, I think that includes the movie in question. Hey, how do you get the "Torchwood! Yeah!" thing in your signature? I love it... And I really hope they do a Doctor Who movie with David Tennant. I wish Rose would be in it, but I'm pretty sure Billie Piper quite, so she won't be back. Plus she's in another dimension, and you're really not supposed to travel between those.

Well, the Doctor said that dimentional travel was really common before the Time War, so its possible he could find a way. And they could always get a new actress to play Rose- she could have grown up while the Doctor was away... Whatever, I just hope she comes back. ^_^

Ooh I'd be quite excited about it, as long as it's the BBC making it, all the same guys as the show. I almost cried when I saw the last movie, I thought it was that bad...
I'd prefer Tennant to be in it, as he's the best Doctor so far in my opinion, but a movie takes up to a few years of planning - the way I see it, there are three Doctors left after Tennant so perhaps they'd end the whole thing with a movie after the 12th one, give them time to pull it off?

Triska sparklingbutterfly haha the first doctor who i saw was the Mummy episode....really creepy though blink now beats it on butterfly's creepometer! Both created by the same man. And... from what I've unfortunatly found out. He also did the script for Curse of Fatal Death."The most peaceful race in the galaxy, but nobody wanted to be around them." "Why not?" "Their language consisted of farting." "What happened to them?" "They discovered fire." Unfortunately? Moffatt is a genius and CoFD was such a funny spoof of Doctor Who!!

They'll spend about as much time on it as on 2 or so hours of episode - not long. They don't have to spend years on it, and they're going to think of something to stop the 13 lives thing.

Aye I meant that normal movies take a couple years planning - but because it's coming from a TV show it would be easier - they've got a lot of it established (characters and filming), but a cinematic release as opposed to a TV movie would still involve a lot more work... They'd also have to work it as people who don't normally watch the TV show would go to see the film (and pay to do so), it needs to be accessible for them, but still complex enough for proper whovians. I didn't explain that very well... sorry! I do think it would be a good way to round everything off - I'm not looking forward to the 13th doc, there's gonna be an air of finality about every episode!

Issue. There's a difference in ways in filming a movie and a TV Show. When I saw the movie Star Trek Insurrection the first thought that came to my mind was that it was not made for Movie theaters. It seemed too episody to me. Right from the start I was thinking of Star Trek 5. That was so bad I'm not going to bother in remembering the name.

It was terrible. I quite agree. biggrin At least they'll have something to avoid if they make this film. Quote: ... the way I see it, there are three Doctors left after Tennant so perhaps they'd end the whole thing with a movie after the 12th one, give them time to pull it off? You mean, have the Thirteenth in in a film and nothing else? I, for one, would feel a bit cheated - like the last film, where I would have loved to see the Eighth Doctor in a season or two. Actually, perhaps they could have McGann back for it! I really like that idea, although it's not very probable.

And yes, it was the worst of the lot, though Insurrection was certainly up there. So was Nemesis... Data has a backup copy on a walking flash drive... talk about cheapening a death... *ahem* Not bitter about it. Really. Berz.

No, not necessarily just a film for the 13th, but I mean the film shouldn't be before the 12th I don't think, certainly to end off the 13th - I'd feel a bit cheated too if I just had two hours of a 13th Doctor!

Maybe it would be on the Time War. That would be nice.
I was upset over that too. We looked at that and thought it really was the end. The even number was bad. (Do you get the reference? If not, think about all the films with an even number.)
