She laughed lightly, the fry joining her though Eruanna did not know why her guardian was laughing. "Having that in common is not something I would wish for you, Hideyoshi. But it is good news on your family." Blue eyes were soft, not entirely distant but showed the inward thought her mind had taken. "Mae, I do... but Eem myre, waiting. You do too, do you not my friend?" She wanted to ask, but not overstep bounds how it was he had not found a mate yet. Elanorriel also was hard pressed, not wishing the question directed back at herself. One could not find a mate, swimming at home.

Bright blue eyes smiled gentle & grateful at the greatly appreciated simple gesture. "Aníron... I wish there was some way I could help to secure your optimum happiness, my friend."

There was a small laughing scoff to the evolved female's gentle words. The fry not being negative, but as fry could be feeling she saw the obvious solution where her elders were overlooking it. With a warm and sunny smile Eruanna laughed again. "That's easy! Have frys together!"

Elanorriel paled, the graceful beta stunned to hear the suggestion. Yet... her hand did not move from where Hideyoshi touched it. Nor did her eyes leave his face. Then over the paling skin... a slight blush.

((I apologize for taking so long... Elanorriel was being elusive. *sheepish*))

Clear bright blue eyes continued to blink for what felt to Elanorriel for a very long time. Swimming around the friends in something of a dance the little blue & pink clownfish fry continued to laugh merrily. "Hideyoshi..."

For once, words were failing the elf lady. "perhaps we should think on this. Hideyoshi, I love you as a very dear friend but I do not believe we are suited to be mates..." Again the fry's sweet laughter broke the waters. "Maybe you're not Daddy... but you don't have to be mates, do you? Mommy & Daddy aren't mates an' you at least know and like each other, right?" Free hand reaching to stroke Eruanna's fin Elanorriel gazed deeply into her friends eyes. She knew she was not answering for the fry, but for him. For her. "Tancave... Le melon, hû mellon." Her eyes glimmered with a sweet and loving sadness. Not a lover's or a mate's loving, but still loving. Different then her loving for the fry she watched. If perhaps their interests would have matched up more... if she thought she could join him in his enjoyment of his best friend's rock band... she perhaps could have loved him that way.

"Perhaps... a few days to be sure. Before we try... Ae anírach." The blush over her fair skin was brilliant and she lowered her gaze to the ends of her sleeves where they swayed in the water as she repeated a translation. "If you wish."

The evolved female smiled gently as Eruanna snuggled with a giggle into her side, playing peek-a-boo with Hideyoshi through the flowing hanging fabric of her guardian's sleeves. "Lau, dear friend. No. It was Eruanna who suggested it. You merely said you were not averse to it, and neither truthfully am I." She was blushing far more than she could ever remember having done in her life. But then never before had Elanorriel spoken of a potential liaison. "As much as I would cherish young of my own, I also cherish your friendship, Hideyoshi. Waiting is as you say, sensible." Her gentle smile was warm beneath her blush. "If we still wish this... I want no room for regrets, dear one."

Gently, firmly, her long graceful fingers squeezed Hideyoshi's fin between them.

Eruanna grinned her baby smile at the male beta, pleased he was playing her game. Or at least... she took his smile that Hide was playing with her. Still thoughtful, Elanorriel smiled and moved her sleeve to make it a better game. Her smile was one of loving appreciation & friendship as her blue eyes met Hideyoshi's. "We'll see, dear friend. We'll see. Perhaps a week or two, maybe a month? We could plan to meet here... alone..." Her eyes fell to the playing Eruanna with a different smile, the longing evident behind her gaze.

Sheepishly she brought her face back to meet Hide's, her blush returned. "We can still meet between if you like..."

nor I, dear Hideyoshi. nor I Then Elanorriel was lightly chuckling as her young clownfish charge squealed in delight at being winked at, being particularly fond of such a gesture for her daddy often winked to show affection. Blue and pink stripes spun happily around and around as Eruanna corkscrews through the water in happy arcs and circles around and through them all the while laughing happily.

Elanorriel laughed sweetly. "Lau. No... you did nothing 'wrong', dear friend. I believe Eruanna would say you did 'right' for you have made her happy with your play." The evolved female smiled and moved her sleeves again for the young beta to play with. "She often spins like that when playing with her father. When he is home that is."

The fry continued to bob & play, still spinning as she laughed gaily.

A surprised and perplexed look graced the elven female's gentle features. "I am pleased and surprised to say she sees quite a bit of her father. Now I cannot condone Himgûl's lifestyle choices but he has been a wonderfully loving and devoted father. Despite how it is fairly apparent Eruanna knows of her father's promiscuity there has been no evidence she has seen any of that, and in fact Himgûl has ...well... " And now she was blushing again. "Daddy gets 'Riel to watch me when he's with a lover!" The innocent fry proclaimed loudly with evident pride in her daddy.
