Tingzhe walked along the wall, using the height of it to try and see what was inside the upper windows. Now that he'd found the house, he realized that he had no way to tell where Shen-Ru was inside. So he looked for somewhere with a light on.
"He likes anything with three lines in it."
He liked having light now. Lots of light. After being down there so long he started to see shapes that weren't there, in the dark- he would be happy if it were never night again.
Plus Shen-Ru probably wanted to write and stuff.
Tingzhe flicked a well-lit window with his whip, only to hurridly jump down off the wall when an elderly maid leaned out. He ended up having to crouch in a bush until she left.
Hunh. That was one down.
"Think you can bend some pebbles or something at that window over there?" He pointed to Qiao towards another lit window, after crawling out of the bush and brushing some stray leaves off of his pants.

"Only three? Sounds tough to write about something with only three lines." After jumping down from the wall, Qiao looked up at the window and nodded. "Yeah, probably. " She scooped up a few pebbles and sent them towards the window with considerable speed. After awhile, she just felt like chucking them. Bending was a waste when throwing things was much more satisfying. "Shout to get his attention, these pebbles are really small."

"An' call the whole house down on us?" Tingzhe looked skeptical. "I'm way too cute for jail, Qiao."
Instead, Tingzhe crawled over to the sideof the house, flatting himself against the wall when he got there. He checked right, then left, then bent a small sparkly flare right up by his window.
It was the same kind Tingzhe had conjured up underground, once he worked himself up to it. There hadn't been anything else to do down there but punch the air and burn through his helpless anger.

"Well, I dunno then! What if he isn't home?" She quietly tip-toed behind Tingzhe and ducked behind another bush. "And please! I've busted my grandpa out of jail dozens of times. You wouldn't be in there long enough for them to know your name."

There was a light.
Shen-Ru frowned slightly when he saw the light out of the corners of his eyes, turning to look at the window. He had -heard- something clattering against it, too, he thought...
Slowly, the poet got to his feet and went over to the window, hesitating for just a moment... Then he pushed it open, leaning out and looking around the dark, snatching up a lamp so he could see better. "Is someone there?" he called out carefully.

Qiao peeked out of her hiding place when she heard the call. Could that be him, she wondered. He certainly looked young enough to know Tingzhe but there was only one way to find out. "SHEN RU!"She called up to the window and ducked back into the bushes. If it was him, he would've responded. If not, well there were plenty of bushes for them to hide in. "Better duck if that isn't him, Tingzhy."Qiao whispered to the acrobat, poking her head out slightly from the bush.

Shen-Ru heard his name called, eyes widening as he leaned further out the window, trying to see with the meager lamp of his light. "Who. Is. There, I demand?" he snapped, narrowing his eyes. This was getting ridiculous!

Qiao laughed quietly in her hiding place. Messing with people was fun, she thought. She should do it more often. "It's someone you know and someone you don't!"

"Hey, man." The bushes rustled, and suddenly Tingzhe was there, grinning wildly up at Shen-Ru's window. "It's me'n thechick who told me how to find your house."
He struck a dramatic pose, then stage-whispered. "She's kinda into me. I get that a lot."

Shen-Ru gaped for several moments, hardly able to believe what he was seeing - and hearing.
"Tingzhe, what are you doing here?" hissed the poet finally, glancing around nervously - if any servants had seen, guards - or worse, his mother - would be called for at any second. "I... heavens, at least come in." He gestured quickly, stepping back from his window, to get Tingzhe to crawl through. And perhaps the girl who was with him, apparently - he peered outside to see if she would need any help.

Qiao finally dug herself out of the bush, shaking the leaves out of her hair. She walked over to the window and looked around. She couldn't possibly tear up such a nice garden with her sloppy bending. Directing her attention up at the poet, raising her arms out. "Would you mind helping me up? I don't want to wreck your garden or anything by bending. It's much too fancy."

Shen-Ru still looked startled, reaching out to put his hands on Qiao's ribcage, helping her up with a bit of a struggle on his part, but getting her inside nonetheless. "What... what are you two doing here?" he asked, smiling crookedly and looking nervous.

Resting her hands on Shen Ru's shoulders and kicking off the side of the house, Qiao scrambled the rest of the way inside. With a sigh she plopped onto the floor, whiping her brow. "Thank you." She managed a small bow of her head then jerked a thumb in Tingzhe's direction. "He asked me to help him find where you lived. I just followed him."

Tingzhe, being a boy and all, was not gonna accept no grabby help to get in the window. Instead he cracked his whip again, twisting it around the window-frame, and used the makeshift rope to pull himself up.
The acrobat grinned, balancing in a crouch on the sill. Finding Shen-Ru this fast- he was a genius.
"Awwww, yer not glad to see me, man? I'm here to rescue you!"
Shen-Ru sure looked a heck of a lot more nerdy when he cleaned up. Still, Tingzhe was glad that neither of them smelled as much as they had when Avatar Kahamo dragged them up into the light. His hair had been a greasy mess, clinging to his skull, and Shen-Ru'shad been like a braided coil of ugh.
"C'mere. Give yer ol' pal a hug."
Tingzhe slid to the floor in a smooth, agile movement, and with little regard for Shen-Ru's personal space, caught the poet in a rib-cracking hug.

Shen-Ru scrambled back as Tingzhe jumped onto the sill, giving the other a displeased look and scowling slightly. "Tingzhe, you should not be here..." he mumbled, keeping his distance as best as he could as the other suggested a hug... but there was no escape.
He squawked as he was so tightly embraced, flailing slightly and smacking lightly at the other's back. "Tingzhe, please let go of me... Please. And... and what do you mean, rescue me? I don't need to be rescued.. I'm fine. I'm home."
