"Be careful, Ina. Do not change your daily actions overly so. It would not do to draw attention." With that, Dao flashed her a surprisingly charming grin, and walked away, heading down to the lower deck to get some food.

She would eat, and sleep a little now, to make sure she was refreshed for later. Meditation was also in order.

Ina blinked. Don't vary her actions? But she had to practice a little. Well, really, that wasn't that much different from usual. Except maybe some of the sailors might think it interesting that she was inspired to practice when there weren't any firebenders onboard, but she'd just tell them the recent fights were to blame.

So, she went off to start working on her usual ship-chores.

At approximately 11:45pm, Dao Rui was getting ready. It took her only moments, putting her clothes on, strapping her boots tightly... Combing her hair. You know. Getting ready.

Glider staff in hand, she blew out her lamp, waiting for Ina in the darkness. The crew of the enemy ship should be sleeping now, resting to attack just before dawn.

Ina had finished her chores quickly enough, and had eaten a little, but she didn't want to fight on a completely full stomach or anything because then she might get cramps or something and that'd be terrible.

She stretched, then gathered the courage she had and headed to where Dao Rui had said to meet her. She was quiet, so that nobody else heard her, but not so quiet that Dao Rui wouldn't-- she didn't want to startle the other girl into attacking her or anything.

Dao Rui had heard the younger girl approaching and silently opened her door, heading past Ina and down the hall. She knew the girl would follow. It wasn't until they reached the ship's side that she looked at the firebender, blue eyes blazing fiercely in the darkness.

"We will destroy them and the traitor will reveal himself when there is no attack come morning."

Her glider was opened and she slipped a strong arm around Ina's waist. "Ready?" The airbender didn't wait for the other girl's answer as she launched them into the sky, toward the horizon.

Ina followed as expected, and nodded in response to her question. She held on to Dao Rui so she wouldn't fall-- though she was pretty sure the older girl wouldn't let her fall anyhow.

She hadn't been in many of these kinds of fights before, though there'd been a couple. And she'd never really had to worry about using her mediocre firebending skills. She knew she had the power, but not the discipline and she didn't want to end up accidentally burning something down.

It took the posted lookout a few moments to spot them after they'd landed on the deck. Fifteen enemies. The rest of them were normal crewmen, hired to work on the ship. Dao wouldn't worry about them. None of the men were benders, either.

Killing the lookout would make their enemy count fourteen. Unfortunately, the man got out a short horn blow before Dao sent a startlingly deadly bullet of air through his right eye and on through the back of his skull. He hit the floor with a thud. Keeping the rail of the boat to her back, Dao smiled slightly.

"Ina. Do not worry about your bending. I will direct it. Just burn." Air and Flame worked well together. The men began to run up the stairs onto the upperdeck.

Ina closed her eyes, schooling her emotions to that place where she burned brightest. Rage. How -dare- these people insult her family, invade her parents' ship? And now they were offering violence to herself and to Dao Rui! As though they were common scoundrels!

Furiously, the girl unleashed a tunnel of fire in their direction. She trusted the Airbender-- strangely enough-- to do as she'd said and didn't worry about controlling her power. A good thing too, considering how little training she had in controlling it anyhow. If she were to only use as much fire as she could control, they'd never make it out of there.

Dao grinned in fierce, scary delight as Ina spilled forth raw power. This girl was strong. Undisciplined, but strong. It wasn't hard for Dao, obviously more used to working with flames than the firebender herself, to manipulate the tunnel of fire, using air, which only made it burn brighter.

Spinning, she used bending to shoot air through the flames, separating it into angry fist-sized daggers, before kicking a hard blast of air at them, shooting the flames right into their opponents. The screams began. Three were dead, taking the flame knives in their throats, and an additional four were badly burned, crumpled on the deck.

That left eight. As one man struck at her, Dao grabbed his arm, flipping him around and breaking it, leaving him on the floor nearby. Another man received an extremely fast sliver of air through his eye, and out the back of his skull. Dead.

Another large blast of flame came from Ina and Dao Rui used the air to funnel it up into the sky, bringing it crashing down in almost a wave, sweeping two additional, now on fire, men into the sea.

Four left. They now looked more than a little intimidated.

Ina stopped with the fire for a few moments, catching her breath. Beads of sweat had formed on her forehead. She looked at the other girl curiously. Were they going to kill these four too? Or had they been sufficiently warned now?

"Good job," she whispered. She'd never seen anyone move that fast before.

"Mmn."

Dao Rui's gaze cut over to Ina, taking in the girl's posture and how she seemed a little unsure. With a sweeping kick she caused the remaining four to fall, hard, and then proceeded to tie them up. Her blue eyes were dark as she leaned close to the men, now tied to the mast.

"Thank the young firebender. She is the reason you still breath." The men quickly voiced their gratitude to Ina. Straightening, the darkhaired airbender returned to Ina's side.

"I will return you to your ship." A pause. "The traitor will know something is amiss shortly, so we need to inform your parents of what has happened. I will return to this ship to guide it to port, upon which, you may keep it to trace whomever was targeting you."

The tall woman disappeared to speak with the normal crew, who were more than happy to go along with her plans.

A short time later they were back on Ina's ship. Dao didn't really need to stick around. A grin flashed onto her face. "Thank you for your assistance, Ina."

In a surprising move, she reached for the other girl's hands, lifting it to her mouth and pressing her lips to the back of it, in a farewell sort of fashion.

"Until we meet again, young lady."

With that, the airbender was back on her glider, heading for the other ship.

Ina watched, intrigued, as the other girl left. She smiled a little bit--this had been fun in a way. She could see where she might like doing this regularly, and wondered passingly if Dao Rui might be interested in becoming a regular member of her own crew when she started off her own route.

Well, she was sure she'd see her again-- at the port if nothing else. So, she'd ask her then.
