The tan filly squeaked and scurried quickly under her father. Her large eyes seemed to peer up at him from between his front legs. "But I want feathers now? If we can't get them now, when?"
Ever gave Uwoduhi'Suli a very sound lick across her neck as she fixed her fur that was drying askew. "When your feathers are as large as your fathers, then will be the time, sweetie." She smiled between the two girls. "You'll make them horribly spoiled, Tawali."

  Tawali laughed at his daughter's face below him and Uwoduhi'Suli grumbled a little, pressing her cheek against the inside of her mother's foreleg to allow her to lick her fur straight some more. 'Suli loved it when her mother did that! Tawali licked Vidia's nose, but left it to Ever to straighten their fur. He knew he would do it wrong if he attempted. That was why his own fur was often a state, sticking up in all directions after a swim. Eventually, the flying would settle it of course!
"Ah think they's deserve te be spoiled Ever! They's me firs' foals. They's deserve the worl'!" He smiled and planted a soppy kiss between Vidia's ears, knowing full well she probably wouldn't approve. 'Suli pulled a face at her father's antics. She was so glad she wasn't standing in Vidia's hooves!
"Asehi Etsi. Ah will wait. Me feathers will be super strong when they's as big as Doda's!!" She looked up at her mother and licked her mother's chest, trying to act the same and straighten the already straight fur of her mother. Pleased with her handiwork, she settled in for her mother's ministrations, pressing her neck against her leg to accentuate her point.

The red mare merely rolled her eyes at her mate playfully before administering her tender care to her daughter's pelt. "Yes, they will be, my sky. Your father might have to watch his tail feathers when you take the air," she said between licks. Her bright blue eyes were watching Tawali for his reaction to her boasting.
"And I'll match you someday, right mama," Vidia asked as she shook her mane from her dad's attention. Icky gross! "I'll be fast, right? Right?" She was practically bouncing beneath him.
Ever couldn't help but laugh. "Someday when my fur turns gray." She continued to chuckle as the tan filly batted at the feathers with a hoof.

'Suli nearly purred with delight at her mother's care. She blinked large mismatched eyes up at her, one her father's, one her mother's, full of love and joy up at her mother. A small happy smile tweaked the edge of her lips, her eyes lidding with contentment. Tawali chuckled, and lifted his feathered leg up and away from Vidia, tickling her nose with the blue-green feathers. He chuckled and shook his head at his mate with a wink, a silent 'yeah right' passing between them.
"Ye'll be able te bea' meh one day Newadii. Ye'll hav'te pra'tise though, flap them's wings mor'n ye do." Tawali chuckled as 'Suli pouted, but she knew she didn't try very hard with her flying lessons. Sometimes, she wished she could give her wings to Vidia, who always seemed so keen to do anything and everything. Uwoduhi'Suli was happy to remain on the ground.
"Asehi Doda. I promise."
