In my personal opinion, lolita is a fashion style and not a lifestyle. By that token, no one can "be" lolita. Also, that is why my interpretations of the style are different than traditional lolita. I just take it as a base to build on, and make my own designs that I enjoy.

The best lesson I can teach others is this:
To hell with everyone else. Do it because you like it!

But Lolita does have it's own lifestyle, which is also based on the Victorian age way people used to conduct themselves. It mostly entails the way you treat others an the way you carry yourself.

Most people I know that are into the lolita style could never pull that off.

Still, I just said, in my opinion. If people are like that, they are like that. No one should try to change their personality to fit a style.

I didn't say that people should change their behavior. If they don't act in what is considered a "loli" manner, they are nothing more than behaviorally "unloli-like". And just because some people can't pull it off doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The Loli life style's existence was the whole thing I was trying to point out.

(Although personally I don't see how anyone is above being courteous to other people and taking care of themselves, and carrying themselves with dignity. As if it couldn't be done or is in some other way "dumb" to do.)

The other day a lolita girl I know told me that Im not lolita because I dont listen to classical (music). I told her that I do not classify myself as lolita as much as I love it. But that made me worry that I could not become lolita. Does it really matter weather or not I listen to classical?

It doesn't matter what music you listen to all that matters is your love for lolita clothing.
