It seemed like her heart was beating in her ears as she waited for him to speak, to say something anything! Nafsi definitely did not like this awkward silence. Not one bit.
When he finally did say something her pounding heart calmed ever so slightly, but still beat so very fast. "Somewhere sounds nice." She replied with a light nod. "Maybe you'll meet someone that will mention a place you have yet to see that you will want to go to. Maybe your own family even." She then shrugged. "But if not, I'm sure we can figure something out, after all we have a long time to." At least she hoped they did.

He chuckled slightly and nodded. "We do have a long time... don't we?" He asked slowly. She didn't know it but he'd follow her the rest of his life, if she let him. No matter where she went, dangerous or not! Boring or exciting!
Maybe his mother would mention her homelands, the mistweaver lands. She never had before though. Maybe they would stay in the jungle? No he wasn't sure that would be a good idea... something had bothered Nafsi about the jungle... even while at the same time she seemed to love the place.
"What.." He hesitated... no, he could ask her! "What got you zoned out when you mentioned the jungle?" He said slowly, unsure what type of waters he was treading in.

She nodded agreeing with his statement. "A long time indeed, unless you get bored of me." She teased playfully knowing that he probably wouldn't but then again he still could. "Or vice versa, although I'm not sure I could ever get bored of you." Another hint to him about how she felt, she had been dropping quite a bit of those along their travels, ever since the pridelands.
She wore a happy smile before it vanished when he asked her that question. She felt her heart skip a beat. The reason she spaced wasn't exactly something she wanted to talk about but since he asked she would. "I don't exactly have the best memories from the jungle, I grew up there but it wasn't....the best environment to be raised in, especially with my aged parents and it being their first and only litter...." Her voice trail almost as if she was unsure of what to say but knowing at the same time.

He snorted, "You'd definitely get bored of me before I ever got bored of you Nafsi." He teased, sticking his tongue out playfully at her.
He fell quiet though when she brought up her past. He appreciated that she shared this information with him, even though she didn't seem to want to. "Ah. I am sorry to hear that." He said slowly. "Well perhaps you and I can create some happier memories when we go?" He offered pleasantly, hoping that if they did then she could not feel so... off about the jungle!

She wrinkled her nose and laughed pleasantly at him. If she hadn't been walking she probably would have tapped him on the nose or something of the sort. "Now, now Rengo you cant be too sure of that." She continued to tease him, it was too much fun to not. "In any case lets call it a 'draw' on who will get bored first since I don't believe that either of us will." She nudged him then to show she really meant it.
She smiled at him softly when he spoke again, talking more about her past. "You don't have to be sorry, you aren't at fault. Besides it's all in the past. Best to look towards the future no?" Nafsi asked rather cheerfully trying to push all the bad away with an optimistic attitude. "Making happy memories sounds nice and good. It'd definitely be helpful." She replied glad for the offer. "Lots of good memories with you would be nice..." She mumbled softly as if she was halfway in a daydream.

He snorted and rolled his eyes playfully. "Wait, wait. Maybe I would get bored of you first!" He teased slyly. "I am the more exciting of the pair, anyhow!" His tail flicked and he gave her a charming, innocent grin.
He could feel his cheeks burning when she said that, he wasn't sure why it pleased him so much. "We've already got a lot of good memories, too." He said pleasantly, a slight purr in his voice.

She rolled her eyes at his comment before shoving him with her body. "Ha, ha you're so funny." Nafsi told him sarcastically before finishing with "Not." She pretended to be mad at him, at least for a little before cracking a smile. It was hard not to.
She nodded. "A lot of good memories indeed. Bound to only grown don't you think?" She asked pleasantly. It was good to talk about something nice and cheerful, helped keep her mind off of the future.

He stumbled lightly and chuckled, tail lightly flicking against her body in something of a playful hit. "Of course they'll grow. If they shrunk I'd be quite worried about our mental states, wouldn't you?" He gave her a sly grin. Since when had he been so humorous, huh?
They wandered into a good deal of the day, setting a good pace for the Kusini lands. Rengo grew more anxious, more nervous the close they got to his homelands. He yawned and slowed down, eyes floating over the area.
"Ah." He said, quietly and almost sadly. "There's the forest ahead." It was too far to reach tonight, but it was still visible. It was the most common way into the Kusini lands. "Should we stop here for the night?" He looked to her, but he was already settling down with an almost pleading look in his eye. He didn't want to continue closer any more this night, he just wanted to rest and take his time tomorrow.

She chuckled. "That would be worrisome." She agreed enjoying their rather humorous conversation
His tone caused her to glance sideways at him before following his line of vision to the forest. "I remember that forest quite well. I remember another lion, around your age saying it was haunted." She laughed a little as if it was . She spoke trying to make light of the conversation, perhaps take away his sadness. His pleading tone immediately stopped her from saying anything more on the forest subject. He wanted to return home but at the same time, he didn't.
She nodded wordlessly glancing up at the darkening sky. How did she not notice this before? Probably because she was occupied with their previous conversations. She stood still for a while still looking up at the sky before settling down beside him. "Sleep well Rengo." She whispered resting her head upon her paws.

Rengo curled up next to her, thinking a bit about the forest. Many lions didn't believe that any longer, it was just a myth. But once wild dogs roamed through those woods, creating haunting sounds to make the Kusini believe in ghosts. Rengo didn't know any of this of course, and he wasn't sure if he believed in ghost stories or not. He did believe he would face his mother's full wrath tomorrow though. Better they do it during the daylight.
"Dream sweet." He replied softly, falling into a light slumber at last.

Having already begun to fall into a light slumber she barely caught his words as they drifted off with her into dreamland. Her body relaxed as sleep took her and she let the land of dreams consume her, all thoughts of tomorrow's meeting slipping from her thoughts, for now.
