"I admit to being curious what difference it would make, though these days I imagine it rather hard to -find- said virginic soul." He joked, smiling wryly before taking a delicate sip of wine, savoring the taste for a long moment, eyes half shut like a cat contemplating cream before he swallowed. "mm." It was a slightly guilty sound. Perhaps for enjoying such a drink in such company. "If it's as good as this you'll have completely undone me." He noted, clearing his throat.
"I am!" Quinlan noted, enthusiasticly, hugging the purring orb, swirling ribbons for the cats enjoyment. "Can we get a kitty Erik? I like Aconite better than the Thousand..."
"The Thousand aren't pets. But I'll -consider-. A cat. BUT I have to be able to find my music where I left it for a -week- at least." He bargained, raising an hoary eyebrow.

Bella smirked as she watched the exchange between the two. Perhaps a pet would be good for Quinlan. Bella was sure she could come up with a cat that needed a good home. After another few minutes went by and Bella decided the stew was ready. She got some bowls and spoons out then laddled them full of the steaming meat stew. She even cooled a small bowl for Aconite. To finish it off she provided some of her homemade bread and some milk for Quinlan to drink. "Alright everyone, dinner is ready."

"A Week?" Quinlan lamented, aproaching the table with an eager and curious look to the food, whose savory smell filled the small house. "A Week is a long time!!"
"Well a week is how long it took me to find where you put "The Fight of Derflerdermaus" So I think thats fair." Nihls pointed out as he took an deep breath to savor the aroma of the stew. "Mmm. It smells fantastic." For this especially he was grateful for his human side. The ability to enjoy this kind of fare.

"Now now Quinlan. Just think of the other things you can do during that week. Maybe you could come to my home and I'll give you more cooking lessons. And you can play with Aconite." She set out napkins and the other things such as salt and pepper. Everyone had their own preference of spice. She took a seat, giving Aconite an affectionate pet before stirring her bowl to cool it.

"Yeah but a Week is still a long time..." Quinlan complained, sitting down in so much as he could. "Thats -forever-. Would you really teach me to cook?" He asked, intently curious. A week was a long time, he could learn a lot in a week. "Can I, Erik?" He demanded, turning his intent gaze on Nihls, who paused with his spoon halfway to his mouth.
"I don't know, can you?" He cleared his throat. "You -may-, but the rest is up to you. I think You'd be safe enough coming here..." He certainly didn't get an impression that she would harm either himself or Quinlan, though he'd been deceived before. He certainly wouldn't know if she were casting a spell, but he had to, at this moment, go on what his intuition told him.

Bella smiled and nodded. "Of course. I would be happy to teach you how to cook. Cooking is just like magic, only you can eat what you make. Maybe you can cook for Erik sometime." She sipped her soup gentley, enjoying the flavor of the meat in combination with the spices they had put in. "Eat your soup Quinlan, and you can taste how good you made it with your ground spices."

"I'd like that." Quinlan noted, eyes flashing as he dove into his soup, watching Nihls out of the corner of his eye as the dhampir sampled his own stew, making another sound of appreciation as he ate. He rather liked being here, it was a lot more 'freindly' than Nihls house, which, as Nihls had jokingly compared it earlier, was a bit of a mosoleum. The vampire that had seen him Tutored in the violin had provided it when he was old enough to have such things in mind, and he'd since then made home, such as it was. It was almost more of a strange museum of curiosities, full from attic to cellar with strange oddments collected over the years. At times it was facinating to search through, but as often as not, Quinlan lamented Nihls peculiar drive to become so grey as to become invisible, like the dust in some of the more remote corners of his house. "This is wonderful!"

"You are well on the way to becoming a good cook. And you and Erik are always welcome to my home." She smiled as she ate her soup and offered the two butter for their bread. "The only time I won't be able to have company is during some of my rituals. It's best if I'm alone for those."

"Really?" Quinlan straightened up intently in his chair, then sunk slightly again. "You did most of it. It's really good." He noted, reaching for a piece of bread with his free hand. "Rituals? Is that like that monthly thing where girls are supposed to get all..."
"No." Nihls interupted, clearing his throat and breifly putting his spoon down with a clink. "It's not." Well he was pretty sure it wasn't. Where the devil had Quinlan picked up on th.... oh yeah. He'd been getting into his books lately too. Blast and damn it. He shot Bella an embarassed look as Quinlan sniggered around a peice of bread, clearly amused at Nihls embarassment.

"Practice makes perfect Quinlan, that's how Erik became so good at playing the violin. If you practice with me then I bet you will be an amazing cook. There are lots of things to learn."
Bella smirked a bit but had no other reaction towards Quinlan's mistake. After all he didn't have a woman around him much to explain these things to him. And Erik didn't look like the "birds and bees" was something he wanted to explain. "No Quinlan, rituals are what a witch performs at certain times of the year. They can celebrate holidays, give thanks to a diety, or even tap into a certain type of power that only comes on that day of the year. Its very special to women like me."
