The Rainbow Spork Those are my favorite kind of people. <3
This one kid was spazzing when I didn't give him a pencil, or a sheet of paper. I told him I don't lend things out because I never get them back. So he told the teacher. And he sided with me. PWN'T mad D! People really should come prepared.. I assume you're in high school, and by that point kids should have all their crap together. Mommy and Daddy won't be there in college.
I give out paper or lend things if people ask nicely and haven't previously been bitchy to me. I figure if I lose a pencil, oh well. I only lend out an orange one that I won't miss if it gets stolen. xD The last time any writing utensil was almost stolen from me was in 4th grade. Some girl tried to tell me that my pen was hers, when I had five others just like it. I finally got it back in the end, and she said, "Fine, steal my pen." rofl
My mom once told me, "Never lend out anything you want to get back."
Doesn't matter if it's your best friend you lend things to. Eight years ago, I lent my bff (who is still my bff) my favorite CD and never got it back because it got scratched and lost. She replaced it with a different CD, but I didn't really like that one. sweatdrop

I have to agree with this. It's the reason I never lend my Angelic Pendant, even to my best friend. I trust her with it, but it's the trades/hackers/scammers of Gaia I don't trust! I'm totally paranoid about it, actually. XD I guess it also depends on what it is. If I had a fav CD my best friend valued as much as I did, I would be okay with lending it. If I knew she didn't like it much, um, no. lol
I used to lend out pens/pencils/pieces of paper, too. I never minded. Everyone forgets sometimes, and that way if I forget, karma will have someone around to lend to me... wink
