His eyes widened again as she moved towards him and he tensed, not sure of what she was doing. When her arms encircled him, he had an overwhelming desire to run, but amazingly, it was overpowered by his desire to slid his arms around her as well. "It's... It's okay, Milu. Don't worry about it."

"Mm, but I don't like to hurt people," she murmured. Her voice was muffled by his long black hair, as she hadn't yet moved from his arms. She found herself oddly comfortable, a feeling that she didn't usually have. Much as she may flirt and play the field, it was mostly her way of covering the awkwardness she felt in being close to another person.

Awkwardly, he smoothed her hair, looking over her head at nothing in particular as he remembered. Sure enough, he still got that gut-wrenching feeling when he thought about her slipping her little paw into that other guy's. Grimacing, he sighed. "You didn't do it intentionally, I'm sure.."

She let out a small sigh at the feeling of his hand on her hair. He had a very light touch, something she liked. "Oh, but I'm afraid I'm not even sure what it was I did to hurt you," she said with a sheepish smile, as she pulled back a little. "I'm sorry about that as well."

He was still looking over her, the grimace still on his face. "It's really not important now. I was being a silly child," he said, with a chuckle. He was often told to stop acting like a silly child.

"Hmm," she murmured, her bright yellow eyes running over the remaining grimace. "You did seem like one when you came in," she said with a small giggle. "But you seem more intelligent than you look, I'm finding."

He looked down at her now, a goofy grin on his face. "I get told it daily," he said with a shrug. "But really, what's the fun in life if you don't get enjoyment out of it?"

Her face echoing his grin, she nodded. "I was kind of uptight when I was younger, but my brother's slowly managed to teach me that philosophy. There's no sense in living if you're not going to live on the edge at least a little bit, and have fun with it!" Grabbing his hand in hers, she turned towards the door. "Let's go do something," she finished with an excited glint in her eye.

Hesitant, he didn't move, but he didn't take his hand out of hers. "Like what?"

"Uhhh," she paused, coming to a halt when he didn't move. "I'm not entirely sure. But isn't that part of the fun?" She winked at him.

"Okay!" She grinned at him, tugging again on his hand. "We might find something interesting outside, somewhere. There's certainly not much to do in here," she said, making a face.

Giggling a little, which was entirely un-Milu-like, she gripped his hand tighter and rushed out the door, leading him past the large double doors that served as the rear entrance to the pound. "Hmmmm," she murmured, shielding her eyes with her free hand as the sun glared down. Her eyes came to rest on the forest, and the mountain peak beyond it; Areas she had not yet explored. She had heard they were dangerous, but... Curiosity killed the cat, she thought with a shrug, and pointed in that direction. "That place looks interesting!"

Looking in the direction she had pointed, he raised his eyebrows, but could not hid his interest. "Are you sure?"
