Darkness Cake

PostPosted: Fri Nov 16, 2007 11:33 pm

One bright and sunny Sunday morning found Serys at the receiving end of a puppy dog look from Harold. She rolled her eyes and shook her head for what seemed to be the thousandth time. "No, no and still no! You know I don't like churches, so why do you insist on asking me to go with you every Sunday?"

"Is it so bad that I'm trying to save your soul here?"

Sera glared at her beloved whilst Serys chuckled inwardly. If only it twere that easy to save my soul... "Going to a building where the only reason most of the people are there is because it's become habit in order to pray to a being who doesn't care what you ask for since He already has a plan for you, seems pointless to me."

"Wow Sera... I didn't realize how strongly you felt about that... I... I'm sorry..." The hurt look in his eyes tore at Serys and so she kissed him in a comforting gesture.

"Don't be sorry, baby. You felt a strong desire to take me and so you acted upon it. It's nothing to be ashamed off." Harold brightened up a bit. "If you want, I'll go with you and wait outside for you so we can go eat afterward."

Harold smiled brightly before kissing Serys. "I love you Sera. I hope you know that." He then walked off to get changed before she could reply.

"She knows Harold... she knows..." Serys whispered.

After Harold got out of the sermon, he walked outside into bright sunlight. Serys was waiting for him on a bench outside, reading one of her books. "Ready?"

She nodded and stood up. As they walked, they made small talk, mostly about how their weeks had been. When they made it to the cafe, Harold and Serys took their seats. After their orders were taken, Harold moved over next to his beloved. "Sera? I have a present for you." Before she knew it, he had placed a small cross necklace around her neck.

Her first instinct was to run away and rip it off but she noticed that it did not burn her, though she could feel strong faith coming from it. "What's this for?"

"It's to show you how much I love and believe in you, beloved. I know you don't like wearing crosses, but I wanted to give you something that reflected my faith in you."

Serys didn't know what to say. "T... Thank you, Harold. I love it, I really do." Her eyes started to tear up. He really did love Sera... Serys wondered if he could possibly love her as well...

Congratulations, you have met Rampel, Knight of the Crumbling Wall. Rampel is Pheliadron's servant, but your character might know more than that. Roll Intelligence + Legacy (difficulty 8 ) to find out what you know. Results are cumulative. Abel Caldeira, you'll have a 2 die penalty on this roll.

1 Success - >Rampel is a Malefactor with the Visage of Earth<

2 Successes - >She was a low-ranking member of the Crimson Legion, those completely loyal to Lucifer during the War.<

3 Successes - >She specialized in breaching Angelic fortifications and wreaking havoc within. A close-in fighter.<

4 Successes - >Rampel has not changed her Celestial Name, but her title before the Rebellion was that of the Angel of the Hidden Fissure.<

5 Successes - >Her fanatical nature was as obvious then as it is now. It seems that she hasn't changed all that much. (Gain one syllable of Rampel's True Name)<
Abel Caldeira rolled 4 10-sided dice: 1, 2, 5, 7 Total: 15 (4-40)

I apologize for not being around for the past few weeks. I've been without internet at home since shortly before Christmas, but now that school has started up again, I can post from on campus.

And yes, John, Rampel is waiting for you.

Is it too late to join in Demonic the festivities?

Now that JohnMcFloss is back, and DaidojiKensuke is joining, we will be starting the game back up. I'm afraid, though, that it will need to wait for one more day, as I have a midterm approaching.

The Tablet:

>> As the thoughts, hopes, and dreams of the tablet's authors flow together, the markings become clearer. It is a magnificent combination of map, diagram, flow-chart, essay, and 'Idiot's Guide,' all woven together in such a confusing way as to confound anyone whose mind is not prepared to grasp higher truths, but perfectly clear to those who are enlightened to the ways of the heavens.

The tablet is an extensive treatise on summoning rituals; how to make them, how to target them, how to call forth beyond time and space. Some parts have been worn smooth by the passage of time. Others seem intentionally vague. With some effort, though, this tablet could guide a mortal through a ritual to free a demon from the Pit. Binding it, however, is conspicuously not mentioned.
