~~The Beginning Anew: Part II~~ The sun's warm rays hit through the open window, warming up the sleeping man laying on the bed till his wake up point. With a yawn, Dante opened his eyes, finding it rather strange to find the other side of the bed empty. "Mya's already up? That doesn't seem like her..." Moaning several incomprehensible things to himself, he decided to get out of the very much welcome warmth of the sheets. It had been too long before he had enjoyed such a nice sleep night, and the drowzyness kept inviting him to stay there. "She'd so beat me if did that..." Dante muttered, a large smile plastered on his face. With a big yawn and some stretching, he dressed up and got out of the room, knocking lightly on Kalu's door. "Wake up lady! You know you have stuff to do today!" Recieving a groan in response (which seemed to be enough), he continued his way downstairs, searching everywhere for Mya. The couch was still being occupied by Ryusen, all wrapped up on a blanket; the basement was completely quiet, not a single soul moving; chirped snores came out of the creature room; and the kitchen didn't have any fresh made food smell on the air. Where did she go? Dante thought, fixing some toasts up. Maybe outside...
Munching on the bread, he noticed the door to the yard was open. "Yup, outside..." Leaving the plate with the toasts on the table, Dante walked out, spotting Mya's light blue hair showing through the top of a garden chair, along with some light snoring. How could she have fallen asleep there? "Yo, lazy!" Dante called, giving a light tap on her head. Mya just stirred and mumbled something, remaining asleep. Turning around to face her, he suddenly noticed a dark blue bundle on her lap. Huh? Slowly reaching to unwrap whatever was inside, his reaction to the newcomer was one single shout.
"WHAT THE HELL?"
Cascade reaction. Baby cries, protective guardian wakes up suddenly in full throttle mode, innocent unaware trigger gets neatly smacked on the gut. "Paaaaaain..." It was actually funny to see a 7' man wincing with a very high pitched voice bent over yourself, tightly hanging to his freshly whacked guts, but Mya restrained herself from laughing. Costly. "Sorry man... It was a reflex..." she excused herself, bighting her lip. On Mya's lap, little Dante laughed wickedly, hanging tightly to her arms. "And... This little one here is... Dante... Heh, you both share a name... I think I owe you a story from what happened last night..."
~~~~~~~
Long story, breakfast and a few aspirines later, both Dantes were staring at each other, not so literally... "I suppose we're gonna keep our hands full now..." Dante muttered, smilling. Last time he had stroked a baby was only for some seconds and he had to send it away to another plane of existance in a matter of minutes. Next time wouldn't be soon though...
"Argh! Let my fingers go!" The litttle ToR had sunk her little teeth on Dante's fingers, revenging herself from being so rudely awakened. Mya pulled her apart, laughing loudly. Any effort to contain herself only made her laugh harder. Dante looked at the red teeth marks, cursing under his breath. "A pupil from Hermes... I should've known it would be a beast of sorts..." Mya's laughter was sharply cut, her glee replaced by a sudden coldness. "A beast? Already jumping into that? Well, this 'beast' of yours is staying, whether you like it or not." Dante didn't even react, so sudden was Mya's burst. "Hmmph. I'm gonna get a shower and be right back." Taking Dante into her arms again, Mya stormed out of the kitchen and left her confortably installed on one of the living room's poofs before heading upstairs, followed closely by the still disturbed Hellblazer.
Finding herself suddenly alone, the baby tried to find something to entertain herself with around her. A red yarn ball was what she came upon her little fingers and, since there was nothing else around to entertain her, she started undoing the ball, amusing herself quietly. A few minutes after, she could sense a winged thing moving towards her. What was it?
"Oooh, a new dweller around here? You must be the Dante Mya was talking about! I'm Tayten!" The Griff squawked nicely, introducing herself. "Wow, you have wings too! They're so tiny! Mine were like that when I was little too, you know?" she remarked, poking Dante's winglets gently. The ToR giggled, feeling her hard beak touching her feathers tickled. Tayten remained at her side for a good while, entertainning Dante for as long as her hungry stomach didn't rumble. "I'll be right back! Gotta eat something!" Dante giggled, waving to her. She was really nice and fluffy, and so funny too!
Soon, though, she found herself alone again. But not for long... With everyone going in and out, it is hard to be lonely in this house unless it's self imposed. And even then it takes quite a lot of gymnastics to be really left alone... This time it was a nosy Sorai who disturbed Dante's peace, with not so good results like Tayten. Curious, the M'Trin started sniffing her around, which was admittedly fun since his rough fur touched her skin and tickled her. However, his curiosity pushed way too far. Dante's tiny giggles turned into a loud, furious wail as Sorai suddenly took a single feather from her wings. Confused with her reaction, the m'trin quickly ran outside, afraid of whatever reaction he would be brought upon by Mya.
And he did well in scurrying so fast, since the angel quickly leaped down and landed by Dante, quickly trying to comfort her. "There there, it's okay, it's alright, whatever happened it's over..." she whispered to her ear, stroking her on the back of the head gently. Her hair was slightly dripping, and a fresh, cool scent spread from her skin, which seemed to sooth down the baby into a sleepy state, her cheeks lightly flushed.
From above, leant on the railing, the other Dante watched, chewing on his unsaid thoughts and frowning. "She's a pack of trouble and you know that." he groaned down to Mya, turning his back on her. "Well, rest assured that, whatever you think of Dante won't change the promise I made to Hermes. She deserves a home after being imprisoned within death for so long, and I have chosen to be her guardian, her teacher, her protector, her mother. And for as long as I live under this ceiling, it is my word that dictates who can stay under my wings or not, and she stays!" Almost finnishing the sentence yelling, Mya stomped her way to the front door and slammed it behind her violently, almost throwing it out of place. Staying still as he rummaged his thoughts, Dante sighed, wishing such pointless argument had never took place.
~~~~~~~
"We're back." Mya sighed sadly. They had had a great time down at the ToR HQ (how could she have been so forgetful?), and the chilly atmosphere that floated back on home was surely not too inviting. Dante was playing with the key chain Ingina had offered her, amused even if her stern face didn't show it. That winged girl seemed like someone who could be trusted. Maybe a possible friend in sight? The other Dante, though, she'd never, ever want to do anything with him. Yelling with her and Mya? Calling her a beast and a pack of trouble? He had just got in to a little prank of her own... Someday...
Despite Mya's fears, the rest of the day went on pretty smoothly. A glaciar silence was brewing between her and Dante, who didn't open up his mouth at all, but other than that it was cool. Dante liked Kalu very much when she rescued her from getting an ugly bite after accidentally stepping on Crossan's tail, frowned at Ash for trying to conquer her personal space over Kalu (or so she thought...) and disliked Ryu for having rough scales. A nap on the afternoon, an enjoyable bath, and giving Mya a hard time to try to put her to sleep. A full day really. And the reward of a key chain...

~~~~~~~
The way back home was punctuated by a deep, heavy silence, weighing greatly on both hearts. Dante didn't understand why her mom, always so cheery, noticing everything on everyone, could be so quiet. She could feel her looking to her little hand, her head very, very still.
When the door clicked behind them, both noticed, without a peep, that nobody else was home. Doing what, Dante had no idea and Mya couldn't care less at the moment. Heading upstairs, it was still with no spoken noise that Mya rubbed a cream on Dante's palm, the pain completely ceasing, and wrapped a bandage around her hand, not a bit of red skin escaping. The ToR 'looked' to Mya's face, who looked back, for a word, a single word. She couldn't be angry, could she?
Naw, Mya wasn't angry. How could she? She had feared for the worst, imagining Aphrodite laughing afar at the child's imagined death by a fire everybody had failed to see. All of a sudden, the angel hugged Dante tightly, bursting into tears of relief, kissing her forehead gently and stroking her back. "You scared the hell out of me, don't do it again!" Mya mumbled between sobs, gasps and whatnot you do when crying. Surprised, more than confused, Dante just snuggled against Mya's chest, a little tear rolling down as well. She felt bad for worrying Mya that much (even though she didn't exactly know why she was like that...), but, at the same time, happy to know that she cared so much for her.
Over the rest of the day, the door slammed back and forth. Much to Dante's amusement, the conversations between Mya and the other Dante were reduced to the minimum necessary everyone else always expecting when the bomb would blow up. Not today though, no fighting rows or anything. Without the nap, like Mya had talked earlier to Dragain, sleep soon envelloped the baby instead of her hyperish streak and, aided by Mya's lack of insomnia, the night came smoothly, even if it was only due to the separation between two of the place's hot heads. Undisturbed, little Dante had sweet dreams of soaking Storm up and leaving him out on the cold, and of porcupines (she spotted some on one of the breakfasts outside) chasing the other ToR to poke their spikes on him. Eek...
~~How To: Speak~~ or The Amazing Patience of Kalu XD A few days had passed from the 'incident' with Storm. Both Dantes had decided to ignore each other's existance (stubborn mules, or so thought Loki...), which would have driven Mya insane if there hadn't been anyone else on the house with them. Thankfully, there was a funny teenage Griff named Tayten, who magically entertained the child. And there was a teenage crossbreed too named Kalu, who patiently babysitted Dante when a storm raged on another part of the house, tipically after the older homonim was asked something related to that which he so unafectively called "Junior". Good thing though: A lot of communication, talked or yelled, went on every passing day. And Dante, in her natural thirst for knowing how to speak with others, absorbed as much vocabulary as she could. Fortunately, the swearing was always kept out of childly range...
When not on a row or being away working, Mya had been noticing Dante's smallish attempts at speech. Smallish, cause silence was the infant's best friend. Still, every now and then, Dante tried requesting stuff like food, play or people, short words like names. Now, seating on one of the puffs on the lounge, watching Dante play with Tayten, Mya daydreamed, trying to figure out the event with Storm. "Wow, she's growing fast..." The muttering from nearby snapped Mya out. Kalu was lazily lying on the couch, her wings fluttering peacefully in the air. "Do normal babies grow like that?" she continued absent mindedly. "No, far from that. Dante's skipping months in a few days' time mentally..." Mya answered, sighing. "Maybe she'll start talking normally these days! It'd be really cool, neh?" Kalu asked, excited. Thayla and Ryu preferred to steer clear from everyone else, so she didn't develop any kind of bonds with them. With Dante, however, she had spent her time and had grown really fond of her despite her father's rants, like a younger sister.
"Damn, look at the time... I still have some crystals to chisel today, mind keeping an eye on her?" Mya suddenly rushed, kissing Dante on her cheek and disappearing through the door holding her coat before Kalu even answered. She already knew what the answer would, so heck. "Bye, come again?" was the only thing Kalu managed to mutter, so speedy was the departure. "Well, it looks like it's just you and me..." Kalu sighed with a smile to Dante. "And me!" squaked Tayten. "And you too..."
~~~~~~~
Armed with a full proof confidence and an all around endurance, Kalu let Dante climb to her shoulders (with some small-ish consequences to her own wings...) and set off around the house. The method was simple: touch and name at the same time, repeat until the term was secured (one or two times), explain what it was used for and continue on. They shuffled through all of the house and the outside too, taking a small trip to the forest. The amount of knowledge was massive for an infant on such a small amount of time (a whole day), and though at first it was extremely hard to make Dante talk ("Come on! Did a cat bite your tongue or you made a vow of silence without anyone knowing?"), on the end of the trek she was grasping easily some abstract concepts, or things she couldn't see. There were things Kalu left out though, like color. How was she to explain what blue and red was without seeing it? Only if the blindfold was taken away! And she wouldn't do so, nope, Mya had almost made a hole with her foot about it when explainning. Nope, she wouldn't.
It was, overall, a really fun day for Dante. She loved learning all the new words, so many different textures she had touched, the company of Kalu and the occasional friendly bickering with a meddling Tayten who just wanted to lay some pranks around for the crossbreed. She couldn't wait for Mya to come home and show her what she had learnt! The door slamming announced someone's arrival (someone, yes, cause all here have lead hands...), but from the sighing and the undecipherable moanings Dante could tell it was Mya. Crawling from the couch she was seating (where a slumbering Kalu rested snoring a bit...), she went over to the tired avatar and huggled one of her legs, looking up. "Huh?" Mya muttered, looking down to Dante. "Mommy!" the ToR squealed, smilling widely. "Awwww, I don't believe it!" Mya melted down, blushing wildly as she bent over to pick up the infant. "Kalu teach to talk!" Dante announced proudly, pointing to the sleeping golden form on the couch. "Really? Wow, that's so awesome!"
Setting the curious Dante down on one of the puffs, Mya stalked to Kalu and, on a purely adolescent fashion, leaped over to her and started tickling the other girl like mad, the house invaded with warm, welcoming laughter. "Sooo, Miss Kalu turned into a teacher now?" Mya teased, grinning. "Nevah!!" Kalu cried between the giggles. They would innocently keep at it if the door hadn't slammed again. And again a chilly mood was fluttering around the house.
It had been a wonderful day, compensating for the bitterness that was ensued later with ice cold glares and razor blade sarcasm. Dante would have to do something about Dante one day. He would see... And thus scheming began...

~~Two Blinds, a Plush Bunny and a Feather~~ Eamane watched her little daughter playing on the floor, a book about blindness in her hands. Tiri was developing faster than they had written but in the same order at least.
Tiri sat on the ground stroking her stuffed rabbit and babbling to herself. ((Yay XDD))
A few days had passed since the accident with Storm. Even though Dante was still rather reluctant into going to the headquarters, since she didn't have an exact plan to revenge herself, Mya managed to convince her (meaning to be assured she wouldn't wreck havoc given the chance...) to come. Hey, maybe Storm or Mosrael would be there and they could get along better, or Ingina, who probably would like to know more of her, or somebody they hadn't met yet! The last option was the right one, as it turned out when they came inside. "Hello!" Mya greeted Ea, smilling, and seating down by her side with Dante on her knees.
Dante sighed deeply. New people. She could sense the big woman seating by them, and a little child, like her, seating on the floor with something on her hands, babbling to herself. Noisy? Not a good start off... Eamane started and dropped her book. She blinked in surprise and then smiled at the new comers "Hello, I'm Eamane and this is Tiri." she nodded at the little girl. The tiny elf stood up and picked her book up and set it on the table.
Tiri dropped her bunny and turned her head slightly towards the sounds the others were making. "Sorry to startle you. I'm Mya, and this is Dante." Mya introduced both of them, patting the little ToR. She glanced at the book Ea had just set on the table "Blinds?" she asked, puzzled.
Silent, Dante was focused on this Tirio, even though she was 'looking' somewhere else. Maybe this time she should move in first and use the words Kalu had so patiently taught her... Eamane blushed slightly "educating myself." she smiled slightly "Tiri's blind"
Tiri looked towards her mother at the sound of her name and felt around for her plushie again. Only adult voices, no one for her to meet today. Mya smiled again, an understanding smile. She poked the blindfold softly, making sure the knots wouldn't come off unless untied bye someone's hands. "Really? Dante's blind too... Well, sorta... She can't see anything, but... Gah... Yeah, she's blind too." Mya wasn't too sure of her words to begin with, but ended her thought streak right there to try and not confused Ea. Which probably failed.
Climbing down Mya's pants, stealthily and serious, Dante didn't pay attention to the conversations behind. She was going to try and meet someone by her own means. A feat, really... Eamane smiled at Dante and then turned back to Mya "well thats a bit of a relief. At least Tiri isn't alone" she giggled. "Is your daughter the one that can sense things? Pave said something about it."
Tiri continued to play by herself unaware of mostly anything going on. Mya giggled as well, relieved she wouldn't have to try and explain her theories again. Gabo hadn't seem to have quite taken the grasp on them before... "Yes, she can. That's why she's venturing without any help to Tirio right now. Dante's more independant than usual blinds because of that, since she seems to be able to know where things, shapes are, roughly."
Dante sat by Tiri, her little winglets flapping lightly. With her usual sudden decision, she started touching the other ToR's face to know what she looked like. Tiri blinked in surprise, she was the one who did that! She tilted her head to the side questioningly "What doing?" she asked a bit haltingly.
Eamane giggled again "Tiri isn't very indepent yet but she's definately getting there. She finally started to talk just the other day." she smiled Not the littlest bit disturbed, Dante continued touching Tiri's face, ears and hair, the contours of the tattoo under her left eye feeling particularly interesting. "Knowing face." she answered. "No see?"
"Really? Dante started to talk yesterday too, or at least became more talkative. Which is great, since it's kinda hard to know something when they don't speak..." Mya said, grinning. Tiri held still at least having an explaination now "no co-lour, no looking at" she tried to explain in her limited vocabulary. Colour was one of her favorite words and she liked to use it when she could. "Know your face?" she asked
Eamane smiled "Appearently it's normal" she nodded towards her book. "I appreciate knowing what's happening in her world." Dante didn't understand color or what it was, since she hadn't been explained yet, but she caught on to what she meant. She nodded to Tiri's request, taking a bit to remember she couldn't see as well. "Yes."
"Which reminds me I have something to ask Dante about... I hope nothing else happens today..." Mya muttered. Dante's right hand was still bandaged. And she still didn't know what had happened. Tiri reached out her hands and ran her fingers over Dante's face. The blindfold interested her and the other girl's hair felt different. She removed her hands confident that she would be able to reconize the girl later. "What called?"
Eamane raised an eyebrow curious, she followed Mya's gaze and noted the bandage "she hurt herself?" Dante couldn't help but feel uneasy when Tiri touched the blindfold, though keeping her thoughts locked tight and not moving. "Dante. Tirio?"
"I don't know, it was something wierd... She was playing calmly with Mosrael and Storm, Mos you already know off since you know Pave, and the next thing I know she was crying at the top of her lungs with her right palm burned. How she got burned is what I want to know..." Mya explained, sighing. Tiri nodded and repeated Dante's name "Dante. Friend?" she asked curiously using her newest word.
Eamane wrinkled her brow "oh dear, I hope it isn't to badly burnt!" she bit her lip wondering which of the TOR's had inflicted the wound Dante tilted her head slightly when Tiri asked her. Friend? Already? Just like that? Well, she was being nice, and she couldn't see too, but what if she burnt her like that... Storm thing had done before? Well, she hadn't felt anything hot on Tiri's forehead (no jewel, duh...), sooooo... "Friend."
"It'll heal quickly, not too serious. Though I'm not too happy about not knowing what caused it. I think Dante blames Storm, since she was frowning at him big time before we left that day, but how can a small child do such burns?" Tiri grinned happily and nodded. As long as that was settled everything would be fine. She giggled and handed Dante her plush bunny "present?"
"oh alright then" Eamane smiled "I haven't met Storm yet...i'll try and make sure Tiri is careful" she made a mental note. Dante gasped, touching the bunny. It was so soft, like Ingina's key chain. "You sure?" she asked, surprised.
"Don't you ever wonder why they were reborn?" Mya asked Ea, looking to both ToRs with a smile. A new friend... Tiri nodded "sure, sure" she said with a smile. She had lots of plushes at home and she liked to give presents to people.
Eamane shook her head "I have no idea...though the tatoo on Tiri's cheek is a coming of age mark... any idea about Dante?"
Dante smiled, carefully taking the plushie in her arms. She'd cuddle it to death later, along with Ingina's present too. Thinking of something to give Tiri in return, she sighed as her thoughts went to a feather. It didn't hurt much anyway... Taking one from her winglets, she handed it for Tiri to touch.
"Not precisely, but it has something to do with angering Aphrodite (which isn't hard) and being protected by Hermes..." Mya mused, remembering the close encounter. Tiri revently stroked the feather. It was so soft, softer even than her plushies! She grinned "thank you" she said.
Eamane nodded, "greek then" she looked down at her watch and blinked "oh, i didn't realize it was that late. We have to go, it's past Tiri's bed time." She smiled and scooped the little elf up.
Tiri's mouth settled in a pout. "bye bye" Dante smiled, her little little smile, happy Tiri had liked it. She waved as both elves went away. "Bye."
Mya waved too as they left, picking Dante up. "I think we should be going too, you sleepy head." she said playfully, watching Dante yawn as she remained clinging to the plushie. Going out of the HQ, they headed home, both happy.

It was evening when they arrived home. Tayten immediatly scampered off to eat and drifted outside as her hunger was saciated, disappearing from the household as soon as she could. Letting her speed off, Mya turned her attention to the infant, who had remained awfully quiet while she and the Griff chatted, and kept a spine chilling smirk on her face for some moments as they arrived inside. "What's that?" she asked the little girl, cuddling her dreads in search for her to soften up. The smirk vanished and turned into happy giggling, breaking the silence. The giggles were followed by a loud mix between snort and snore and some ruffling sound, along with a smallish eeping. Looking up to the rest of the lounge, Mya noticed the sources. It was an 'awwww' kind of situation, really. At least for her...
Lying on the couch (with his knees pending outside...), Dante slept peacefully, his coat on top of him as an improvised cover, and Sorai slept by his side on the ground, rolled over on his back and his paws sticking up on the air. Mya, if she wasn't crossed with the 7' male, would probably through herself over him with hugs and cuddles and all the loveydovey stuff that came to her mind but soon got stacked on a corner of her mind. He currently didn't deserve that, as she reminded herself upon a glance at the infant, instead going directly to the kitchen.
~~~~~~~
It had been a peaceful time while Mya cooked their dinner, distractedly humming to herself. Why would there be any reason to worry about? Dante was seating there peacefully and both guys were asleep. What could possibly go wrong?
A howl and a pained scream broke the relative silence, almost making Mya chop out her fingers. In a rush, wielding the knife as the weapon of circumstance, she leaped to the other room, visibly worried. "What the hell????"
She was just in time to see Sorai running away through the door with his silvery tail slightly squashed, followed closely by what she reckoned as being one of Dante's boots, complete with a full pack of curses spitefully thrown as loud as he could. Mya's shout stopped the hateful chain, being recieved with a big glare from Dante. "When I catch that cowardly dog, I'll skin him and give his pretty little fur coat to a charity event..." he groaned, his hands covering his ears. "... but I ******** bet that my little homonim was responsible for it."
"WHAT?" It was Mya's turn to get aggravated. Throwing herself over the unprepared Dante, she held the knife right over his throat, the tip drawing a single droplet of blood as the metal touched the skin. "You're taking that back or I'll extract your vocal chords right here, right now, and leave you absolutely speechless for five days. Your little homonim, as you said, is seating on the kitchen and never left it ever since we got here, so you better have a good excuse or your throat is gonna be ripped wide open this second." A threat that was followed by an awfully long silence between both, just the sounds of happy humming coming from the conversation's subject. Even though both were equally hard headed, Dante gave up to Mya, even though he was 100% sure the ToR had something to do with his rude awakening. "Grumph. Sure, whatever. I was wrong, I'll only skin Sorai..."
"Ahem."
"Whatever! I won't! Just get that knife away and let me recover my hearing in peace!"
And so, they parted ways, Mya continuing to fix dinner with a far more cloudy mood, Dante going up to their bedroom to sleep in peace again, Dante continuing to play with the bandages on her hand. With a big devious smile on her face. She didn't even bother thinking why no one had spotted her leave the kitchen, drop on boot on Sorai's tail and sneak back to her seat. It had worked perfectly, hadn't it? And still no one, not even her, suspected of her lack of reflection when it all happened...
~~Meeting a Princess with Tirio~~
Mya yawned widely, not even bothering to cover her mouth. What for, if no one else was there and Dante couldn't see her? Besides, the infant had plenty of entertainment for herself, so she wouldn't pay attention to her either. Mya had the distinct impression that, if Dante was given something that was new or really interesting, the girl would be able to go and analyze, play, do everything possible with it for more than 24 hours straight. Not having something like that for herself though, nor being that willing to spend her energy with something like that, Mya was bored, bored, bored. If no one showed up in the next five minutes, she'd leave...
Dante, however, didn't mind the time, completely entertainned. Mya had brought with her a cube of stained glass, and, despite not being able to see it shinning (which probably would attract her), Dante really liked the slightly striped, smooth and cold surface, throwing it to the air, catching it dextrously after, spinning it one her hands. Just like that.
Eamane pushed the door of Hea Quarters open with her hip, as her arms were once again filled with Tirio. "WE're here" she told the little girl" before even looking around. Spotting Mya she smiled and hurried over placing Tiri on the ground beside Dante
Tiri tilted her head "who there?" she asked
Oh, I hate the little kid. Little monster, thinks she owns the house, not like it was a good house but still! It was a house nonetheless, the only place that Rii had been able to find shelter in, shelter from the stupid people and the idiotic employers that she was cursed with and all the hurrying flurries of life. And now The Company Of Doom had chosen to bestow upon her a perfect demon, probably so that Rii wouldn't have a single moment of peace ever again. Ever, ever, ever.
The carrot-head girl allowed a few tears to drip off her slightly-aquiline nose remorsefully as she doused herself in self-pity. Oh, woe was her. She had never asked to be a guardian, had she? No. Had she chosen to engage in mental torture every hour of the day, to listen to the ear-piercing shrieks and stormy wails of a tantrum-throwing infant? To feed the mouth of another on her meagar salary? No, no, no! It was the company's fault. As usual.
If she weren't so indebted to INK inc., she'd quit. Now.
The little hand tugged in her grip, and Rii forced herself to concentrate on the world at hand as shrill tones lanced through her ears painfully. "Mommeeeeeeeee. Are we nearly THERE YET?"
"No, you little idiot, shaddup."
Rachael found this reply quite disheartening. "MOMMY. I want to SHOP."
What the hell. This little--two-year old? Three-year old?--Rii wasn't sure she wanted to know how old her charge was--could barely count to one hundred and already she knew the word 'shop'. Oh, infernal barbs of current-day mass-media.
"MOMMY!"
"No, don't call me mommy. I don't want to be associated with you." Rii allowed herself to fill these words with as much scorn as she could. Well, okay, she couldn't help but be associated with the demon, with all this namby-pamby HAND-HOLDING stuff and whatnot, but that didn't mean she liked it.
"But..."
"No buts! We're going to...er....somewhere. But not shopping."
"Where, then?"
Rii wasn't sure either but she wasn't about to say this. "Somewhere." Feeling the soft bubble that marked world-shifting begin to close about her, she closed her eyes gently, reaching for the seed of serene bliss that she could sense moving in the distance, allowing herself to float quietly. She intended to prolong this hovering peace as long as she could.
"MOMMY!"
Not again. Rii found herself jolted back into the real world. Well, another real world anyway. Although it looked exactly the same as before, she could feel the tendrils of slight-differences nagging at her--a brighter streetlight here, a dark alley formerly nonexistant there. A nondescripit, professional-looking house-thing over thereish.
Speaking of the latter, time to go in. She felt it pulling at her, just as it tugged her gaze to open door, through which an adult tugging another child had just vanished. "Hey, lookie, little twerp! Let's go and...er...surprise someone!"
She wasn't sure what she was going in FOR, but there you go. Yanking a protesting Rachael towards the house, she turned the handle and ducked inside. "Hey. Anyone HERE?"
She spotted some people. Er. Whatever. Rachael was tugging at her hand once more, demanding to go shopping.
"Fine! FINE!" She yelled at her charge, blustering and red in embarrassment. "Er, I'll come back again?"--this last to the inhabitants of the room. A fluttery wave, a worried and apologetic smile, and smouldering, angry Rii bounded out the door, led by Rachael, across the street and into a colorful shop filled with sparkling clothes.
"Hey, hey!" It was too late. The girl had gone in.
She chanced one last glance at the house-over-thereish, and then turned back to the business at hand--getting Rachael out of there.
"Hiya Ea! Oh, mind if I shorten the name?" Mya greeted, her boredom flying away as if it had never been there, waving to her with a smile. "How've you been doing?"
Dante smiled, instantly recognizing Tirio's voice. Her great hearing never failed her, and she was far to young to have troubles with memory. "Dante here!" she said, holding down the cube between her crossed legs. Protests coming from the door sort off annoyed her, but she ignored them, even as Rie and Rachael came inside yelling.
"Hey, you can keep it down, no one's deaf here!" Mya said, turning to the newcomer still smilling. A new ToR for Dante to meet! Lovely! She only hoped it wasn't one with the quirks of Bella... Eek...
Eamane giggled sitting down "of course not...no one calls me by my full name really" she raised an eyebrow at the pair coming inside. "hello" her reply was pleasant.
Tiri's face was covered by a broad grin. "'Lo!" she said brightly crawling closer a bit cautiously. Her head swivelled around at the loud noises causing her to lose her balanace andfall over. She didnt bother to get up again
Dante sensed Tiri fall and reached for her hands, touching the carpeted ground until finding them and pulling her back up in a seating position by her side. Like a wall for what was to come. And, if the little person she sensed was coming in was too annoying, she always had Tirio to rely on...
~~ Another Trip on Tayten Airlines ~~ Ingina was led in by a man, a stranger that had never been to the ToR HQ before, but was directed here by Dragain. He had brought Ingina out, and she was being carried piggyback in. She addressed him as "Papa" and seemed to know each other quite well.
He carried her over to the couch where he placed her and sat down.
Mya smilled down at Dante, watching her ride Tayten happily. She was growing nicely indeed, despite the troubles along the way, but it didn't seem healthy to spend so much time away from other ToRs. So, it was time for a new visit to the HQ, though Mya still prayed Storm wasn't there. Instead, it was Ingina, which was a relief, with a... stranger? "Hello." Mya greeted curiously, smilling. "Are you with Ingina?"
Dante couldn't care less about the new grown up. She just wanted to show Tayten to Ingina and played with them. The Griff was so much fun! She smiled as Tayten sat down, sliding down her wings to go to Ingina. "Tayten!" she intoduced, pointing to the Griff.
The man looked up with an emotionless face which broke into a slight smile. "Ah, yes. You may call me Saniiro. I assume you know Dragain-Chan?" He moved over so that this new lady can take a seat. He gestured for her o take a seat and quried, "I'm sorry, but how may I address you?"
Ingina smiled at Dante and nodded. She tugged at Saniiro's shirt and pointed at the floor. She was brought before Dante and Tayten. She stroked Tayten gently, and giggled. "Me likes Tayten."
"You're nice, kid, I like you!" Tayten said, wagging her tail. She was obviously not imune to flattery...
"She can fly!" Dante said, beating her arms as if they were wings. Her little winglets flapped too, in a sudden surge of life.
"Yes, I do." Mya answered, taking the seat. "I'm Mya. the little one is Dante, a friend of Ingina's, and the Griffon there is Tayten. How's Dragain?"
Saniiro looked at Ingina for a brief moment before turning back to Mya, "Dragain-Chan's doing fine, if not a bit busy looking after all her adopted children." He gave a little sigh and asked, "I wonder why she wants these children. She appears to like taking care of them."
Ingina patted Tayten and laughed happily. "You're nice too." She said, "Dante, Tayten really can fly?"
"That depends from person to person. I want my adoptees 'cause I hate to be alone. Despite my house has a lot more people than it used to, there's always a corner there and in my heart to take the unprotected child and help them grow giving love and shelter." Mya explained. "It's kinda a knightly complex, but it's one of the things in my life I won't ever give up. But that's for me. As for Dra, from what I got to know, I think she loves to be a mother." she ended, laughing lightly on the end. "But that you have to question her, right? Anyway, if you don't mind, what are you to her?"
Dante nodded vigorously as Tayten replied. "Me, fly? I float, I soar through the skies like the pleasant Summer breeze or the fast Winter gust!" she announced, trying to sound solemn. It soon broke up to her usual playfulness. "Did I sound cool or what?" she asked the girls, winking. "Tayten take me and Mosrael over the sky to biiig lake, fun!" Dante said, giggling.
Saniiro smiled at that question, and in reply, he nodded, "Well, I'm her fiancie... She was engaged to me from young. I got to love her. It was hard not to, she's really sweet." At this, he laughed lightly. "Yes, I guess you could say that it's in her nature to take in children, although she act like one herself."
Ingina giggled and turned to Dante, "You think Tayten can fly over lake again?" She turned to Tayten and asked, "Please?"
"Glad you did..." Pre-arranged marriage always freaked Mya a little (well, a lot), seeming so anti-natural and with all of the consequences it could bring. Still, she managed to conceal her thoughts behind a smaller smile. Still a smile, nonetheless. "I don't know her that well, so I can't judge that..."
"Please?" Dante joined with Ingina, hugging one of Tayten's leathery paws. "Lessee..." Tayten muttered, looking up in a mocking fashion. "If I recall well my agenda, I happen to have some free space for at least an hour more. Yah, it's a deal! You have a fly by!" she squawked, smilling as she got up.
Ingina clapped her hands in delight and tried to climb onto Tayten's back, without success. "How to get up?" Ingina asked Dante with a slight pout, "Call Daddy?" She crawlled quickly to Saniiro and pointed at Tayten with a smile. "Tayten going to take us to fly! Me and Dante!"
Saniiro looked at Ingina and sighed, wondering if he should allow that. He had not gotten used to this 'Father' thing. He squarted down and picked Ingina off the floor and onto Tayten's back effordlessly. He turned to Dante and asked, "You need help too?"
Dante shook her head to Saniiro's offer and climbed up to Tayten's back alone, seating in front of Ingina where she could grab Tayten's neck. "Do good alone." she said, her hands layed on the Griff's soft fur.
"Okay then, here we-"
Before Tayten could finish the sentence and run off with the girls, Mya pulled her tail back, an annoyed look patent on her face. "You better not speed off, or I'll cut your claws, I don't want to be smashed under you again." Mya warned, releasing Tayten.
The Griff rolled her eyes, bothered, and started running outside, spreading her wings when they crossed the door. It didn't take much to rise them airborn, soon crossing over the city's roof tops swiftly.
Saniiro nodded and followed the Griff outside, until Tayten took off. He stood outside the door, watching the sky.
Ingina looked down and giggled, "This fun!" She said ahppily, "Whee!" She grabbed hold of Tayten's fur, gently yet firm, hoping that it dosen't hurt this griff. She smiled and looked around. It's good to fly. Maybe her wings will help her fly one day too...
"I can do that..." Mya muttered, looking to the carpeted ground absent mindedly.
Outside, Tayten kept heading to the same spot as before, sometimes looping around higher buildings to add a bit more spice to the ride. Dante squealed happily, the blowing wind feeling great on her skin again. It was so good to fly... She wished she could fly. Maybe one day. For now, she was just enjoying the trip, even if she couldn't see the city or the fields below them. The shinning surface of the blue water was starting to be visible, a speck growing faster and faster with each wing beat.
Ingina laughed happily, feeling the wind rush pass her. She looked down and smiled at the things down there. It was all so tiny! The lake look even more beautiful from up here, sparkling like the stars in the night sky. She loved it when Tayten added trill to the flight, giggling everytime it was done.
"Prepare for contact!" Tayten said playfully, starting to lower the altitude. It didn't take long for her paws to touch the water and, as before, she dipped her lower half down, the water reaching the girls' ankles. "Weeee!" Dante squealed, reaching down with her unwrapped hand to touch the lake. It was so fresh! Cupping it, she drank a bit of water, being a little thirsty.
Ingina shivered as the cold water touched her skin, but soon got over that. She reached down to touch the water with her fingers. Sprays of water landed on her legs and she giggled happily. She was enjoying the ride!
When she saw what Dante did, she tried it too. Cupping her hands and dipping it into the water. She drank the cupped water and it refreshed her, being cool and fresh.
"Co-co-cold..." Tayten started shivering, trembling lightly. The lake was colder than before, Summer was ending and so was the heat. Her fur was even "Going up!" With that, feeling quite relieved as they no longer were to touch the surface, Tayten suddenly turned up, almost leaving no time for the girls to get a grip on her fur. At least Dante almost failed, so distractd she was with the surroundings.
Ingina gasped and gripped Tayten's fur. She let go when she had balanced herself again, and smiled. "That was fun!" She said happily. She was trembling slightly from that sudden take off but still happy smiling away. She stroked Tayten's fur lighly, running her fingers lightly down.
"Can go back now?"
"That was exactly my plan kiddo!" Tayten said, looking to her smilling. She turned around, heading back to the city the same way they had gone. The Griff kept making stunts though, as if they were in a speedy rollercoaster. With each turn, each spin, Dante giggled excited and happy. She'd fly one day...
Ingina closed her eyes and imagined that she's the one who's flying, the wind rushing past her wings and hair. She gave a happy cry of "Wee...!", as Tayten took her on the ride of her life. She smiled and nodded at Dante, 'Thank you for this!"
After which, she gave Tayten a pat on her sides and gave thanks to her too.
Dante just squealed as Tayten did another loop, nodding to Ingina in the middle of her happy giggling. Even though the ride was almost over, each time Tayten gave her a ride it always felt great and exciting, which she obviously loved. The griff too nodded to Ingina, also giving her a birdy smile, while focusing back on the ground bellow. They were almost there, so she'd better slow down, or her tail would surely suffer at Mya's hands. Turning her flapping into gliding, extending her wings to each side, they started to slow down and to fall graciously, in wide, turning smaller, circles.
Mya walked out as she saw Tayten's bright orange shape come down, happy she wouldn't have to catch her for once. And quite relieved too, as she had no idea what they went to do with the crazy teenage Griff. At least they had had fun, she could tell from their faces as they landed, Tayten's paws softly touching the ground.
Saniiro looked at Tayten as she eached the ground. Ingina seemed to have enjoyed the ride, as seen from that over excited face of hers and her big, wide smile. He approached them and lifted Ingina onto his shoulders. He walked over to Mya and gave her a slight smile. "Thank you for eveything," he said, "But I think it's time that we go home."
Ingina sat on her father's shoulders, and waved goodbye to Dante and Tayten. She felt herself being placed on the motorcycle. Saniiro helped her put on her helmet and told her to hold on as he sped away.
Portuguese is my first language Abb. We don't have a second language officially, but english is taught on schools for all of the global communication bla bla bla thingie. XDDD
And I'm back from school XDD))
Mya smiled, waving to them as she watched both speed away. Damn, that motorcycle looked nice... As for Tayten, she was far more noisy, almost throwing Dante off of her back. "Well girls, let's go drop you back home... I still have some shopping to do that would be way too boring for you..." Mya said, patting the Griff and stroking the infant's dreads. And so they went off, on a happy sort off way, even though Mya kept a dreamily strange smile on her face that made the Griff wonder what she was up to. Chaos, most definitely...
~~ A Bet, an Unfortunate Cleaner and an Awesome Basement ~~ Ash scoffed at his darn luck, tying his long silver hair in a pony tail and shielding his head with a floral patterned scarf. Oh, the mountains, the piles of dust that awaited him... Couldn't be good. Wearing some old, ripped shirt and a ragged pair of shorts, and after having fetched the faithful broom and shovel, he almost looked like a she, an cleaning lady. The only thing missing was the strawberry bubble gum...
Unsensitive to his pains, Mya and Kalu rolled on the ground laughing, watched closely by two questioning Thayla and Dante. One for not being even mildly interested on the transvestite, the other for not seeing what they were laughing about. It couldn't be that funny, anyways... -to be continued...-
~~ No Legs?? And... What is Seeing?? ~~ ~~~~~~~
"So, what did you think of little Lorelei?"
Back home, Mya sank herself on one of the beanbags sitting peacefully on the lounge, letting out a conforted sigh. Her head was still ringing. A lot. Man, how she hated that prissy godess... Couldn't she grow out of it? Please??? And couldn't she shake the feeling it was only starting?
"She... nice. Noisy, but nice." Dante replied, fiddling with her gloves while spraying herself on the couch. Lorelei didn't stop asking questions until they were gone, but since she taught the meaning of sight she qualified for being trustable. Meaning no harm. In peace with ze world. Very good thing for the other ToR...
"Really? I heard you talk all the time! No wonder..." Mya muttered, smirking. Dante seemed so hard to please at times... "What did you talk about?" she asked, vaguely interested. Mya figured it would be child stuff, but what came out made her gulp. If she was drinking something, she'd surely choke to death.
"Tell what see is!" Dante proclaimed, pulling an important sounding tone. And it was! Now she knew what those round things that sometimes prickled like heck were! Of course, Mya's reaction wasn't what she expected. Mommy was always so happy when she learned something new...
"Re-Really? Cool... Hey, look! Loki's calling you outside. Maybe he wants to take you for a ride?" An excuse to get Dante to not think about what she had just mentioned. That was what Mya figured would do well. Besides, Loki was sauntering like mad on the yard... With relief, she watched Dante scurry out and leap to the unaware Loki's back, who had just been trying to frantically eat a fly... At least he gave her a wild ride...
Stopping to think about what Dante had just said, Mya feared for the worst to happen. Hermes had advised her not to uncover her eyes. Ever. What if she truly wanted to see one day and took the blindfold off? What would happen then? But... what could the harm be as well? A world with no color was horrible and she knew it, having been at one point momentarily blind herself... a moment that lasted about two months or so... And it had been horrible. But what would be the horrible thing that would happen if her eyes were uncovered? Mya twisted the questions around and around on her mind, trying to find a compatible answer...
Sit and wait...
