Number_09 Linzy_Athena It was pretty good! It was the 40th anniversary so there was a few little things they changed to encorperate that stuff. Have you ever been before? What instrument do you play? Oh man, I sound so nosy! Nope, I've never been before. The closest thing to a band camp I've ever to was a three-day "Music Leadership Camp" at Frontier Trails. I play trumpet in all my bands and guitar and a little bit of piano. EDIT: If I can get enough money by March, i think I'll be going this year! biggrin Omg!! You've been to frontier trails?!?! I think thats up near my cottage. It's near Eganville is it not? I don't think I'm gunna go this year, but I'm not 100 percent sure.

Number_09 Yay first post! Anyway... Is anyone here going to Music-fest in Ottawa, ON, Canada in 2005? If you are, what level is your band entering in and what pieces are you playing? We're going! We're in Ottawa, so it's not that big of a deal...we're playing Stars and Stripes forever, Persis and Jubilant Overture (evil songs)...

Most of the school in my school-board send their bands there every November-ish. This school year was my first year going. I have no idea where it is. sweatdrop 'Cause I pretty much slept the whole bus ride there AND back.

Then we also have vocal jazz, Woodwind quartet and R&B band. Sadly, we don;t have a jazz band this year. I'm in the Sr. band and the R&B band.

That's cool....we have two jazz bands, mind you, they only differ by a few members...We don't have any small ensembles this year for some reason that I'm not sure of. I'd join jazz band, but my instrument isn't really jazzy. Only our concert and jazz bands compete, though.

Ah well, cause Frontier Trails is a horse camp thing by my cottage that my gramma has been trying to get me to go to for like EVER. I've never really been into it though, I'd rather spend the day in the lake lol. Eek, played my playing exams today. I had to know like 7 major scales! sweatdrop Not that this really fits into the regional thread or anything.

For "Pagent" the trumpets (all three of us) missed most of our entries. In the 3rd movement of the Holst Suite we were totally off sweatdrop and the 4th movement's ending was a DISASTER (but we all had a good laugh afterwards). And the lady that presented the award to our trumpet player pronounced his name wrong so now he's a breakfast cereal (GennariOs. His name is Gennaro). What level were you guys in, Hikari?

Lol, that almost happened to us...our oboe player, his name is like....Yi-xiao (I can't spell it for the life of me) so my bd writes at the bottom 'pronounced 'eeee-shooo' so she would get it right.
Uh...I believe that it was 500, if I remember correctly....
