There's a guy at my school who shows off his mad guitar skills at lunch every day by playing Stairway To Heaven.
Every. Single. Day. And it's always the Exact. Same. Song.
And for some reason every non-guitarist in the school seems to think he's some kind of musical genius. I'm honestly considering challenging him to a guitar duel, even though I'm really not that great. He's annoying the hell out of all of the other guitarists.

A way to humiliate him: at lunch, go up to him and ask him if he knows 7-8 songs that you can be sure he doesn't. After he's said "Umm, sorry, I haven't heard that one," about 5 or 6 times, it should start to get pretty embarrassing.

Haha, I have a girl in my school, she doesn't even play.. Anyway, she has like four guitars and she wants to get another one. She's not really even interested in playing, but she learned one song on her own and she keeps saying she's a guitar prodigy now.

Unfortunately no x.X' All the guitarists in my school own D: My schools all gangster so theres not many players, but they all kick my a** cause they practice together everyday at lunch :/ Or they did cause a few graduated last year. I've never been a great player, I've never put my time into learning, other than those 4 months where I learned a Protest The Hero song xD I've just written as much as I can. When I learned that Protest song I skipped so many fundamental things that even the shittiest guitarist knows o.o' I missed chords, scales and a whole bunch of things. I'm not a bad guitarist, I just don't know any songs other than what write. I wish there was some shitty guitarist I could trump xP

And make sure you know how to play the songs, too, so you can whip out your own guitar and start jamming and totally crush his ego twisted

There's this one kid at my school who's been there for three years, he brings his guitar evey single day and all I ever see him play is the SAME SONG over and over again. It annoys the hell out of me. I asked him if he could play anything else and he gave me a couple of songs, turns out all he do is simple intros...He says that he's sooo good at the guitar, and everyone who can't play thinks that one song he can play is the most amazing thing in history, I swear...I'm gonna stab that guy with the neck of MY guitar which I can actually play.
When I say I can play a song, I mean the whole song. If I play the intro or half the song, I'll tell you that.
My friend bought a guitar, never used it, then tried to sell it to me two years later... stare She's guilty of child guitar neglect!

I think we've hit on the fact that people who don't play guitar/piano/other instruments really don't have an appreciation for the tough stuff because they've never tried to play it or they've never heard it. If you go up to someone and play a Dream Theater song, they're not likely to know what you played them. If you go up to them and play Hotel California, they'll think you're great because you can play a song that's a huge hit.
So I guess being a popular guitar player isn't about being good, it's about being conformist. Whatever. I'm going to be good whether people like me or not. It's all about the music.

My playing doesn't justify the gear I have. At least I never bring guitars to school or say anything about being the best. I like having people over though to jam though; let them play whatever they want whenever. It's fun and I feel the gear is going to good use.

I know a few people like that. I'm kinda like that. I say I can play a solo but I skip a few sweep parts rofl . I'm a rhythm player, so I try to solo and just can't. My fingers don't always like to go where my brain tells them to, lol.
