I have no idea how the hell this worked.

I was trading throughout the day and somehow the Jah I got from my buddy...is gone out of my stash.

Wha the...

I am so pissed off (durr) and blah blah and yeah it was my own stupid fault but I can't figure out in which sale or anything and I didn't even offer it because I'm trying to make an Enigma...it's been in my damn stash!!

I've decided the world is indeed a sick little place where people have to fluffing hack in order to fluffing feel fluffing good about their fluffing fluffing selves! scream
Ouch, a duped rune......only real way to get that to stay, is to get a 3 soc armor, and put it in, cuase once the rune is in a armor, it won't dissapear.......i almost got scammed a few days ago,a jah, for my full tals, but when me and my bro were sitting there, we asked the guy if he could add anymore to the trade to "up" it...and the guy goes "Name any rune you want, any"....so my bro is like "dude, that makes me think you have duped runes"...and the guy goes "Yup, i do...gl selling".......we were saved, from utter stupidity....phew


Actually, runes can dissapear out of items. When they dissapear it gains the default runeword "ith", and it cannot be picked up or traded or anything. As soon as you leave the game it dissapears.
It happened to a lot of people near the start of 1.10.
Is this somehow related to the Ith items of the good ol' 09 days?


Yes. Iths in .09 were made by selling the runes out of a runeword to an npc. This couldn't be done without d2hackit of course, and extensive packet knowledge. neutral
Basically iths were runewords with the runes taken out and 40/15 jewels/ohm runes/eth runes put in the sockets.
The mods from the runes didn't stay because the runes were removed, but the mods that were granted by the runeword remained. smile

And there's a brief explanation of what iths were all about, for the kids who started in 1.10.

uhh well, you've got to have seen someone before eek everybody had them.... that's why cowing was so easy, multishot with a overkill bow...


and cows in 1.09 gave a lot more exp than now...plus the ancients gave more exp as well and you could do them at lvl 1 or you could skip directly to baal and do them later. plus in 1.09 there were no godly rune words which made uniques like ss, gf, wf, worth more.....and further more soj were free those days, they were worth pretty much nothing. I wonder is there still a constriction ring in the new patch (1.01)?

i have started playing around april 2002 closed b-net. in 2 realms Europe ladder and UsEast ladder.

No, there wont be any, or least I doubt it. People during 1.09 somehow got them, and I remember I had a few at one point in time, just not the level to use em.
