As she got off the S.S. Anne, Alisha scanned this new place. Pallet Town and Cinnabar Island were alike in the sense that they were both small. Pallet Town was smaller, and less active. Back in Cinnabar Island, happy and giddy people would be skipping about; playing with friends, hanging out by the shore, and even just jumping around. Cinnabar was cozy and comfortable, but Pallet Town felt isolated and awkward. Her journey to become the greatest coordinator was beginning. Kids that were about a year or so younger than her were chasing their new pokemon. They had no control over their pokemon when a few of them started to battle. The kids were laughing and clapping and calling out commands that the pokemon ignored. The whole time, they were thinking that they were great trainers. Alisha was anxious to find out what her new pokemon would be. It would be her first step to being able to master pokemon contests. Maybe she could even compete in some gym battles along the way? Either way, she needed a pokemon. So, she made her way to the biggest building in Pallet Town that she assumed was the Pokemon Lab. Being polite, she gentally knocked on the white, heavy door. A gray-haired, old aged man opened the door.

"Yes?" he smiled.

"Um...I was wondering if I could get a pokemon?" she asked.

"Of course, dear," he said, leading her to the back of the lab. The walls were lined with glass shelves that were filled with pokeballs. She had never seen so many in her life. In other parts of the lab, there were high-tech machines that had bright, flashing buttons. The man led her to another door.

"My name is Prof. Oak. I study and research pokemon. I give starter pokemon to most of the beginning trainers in the Kanto. And what may I call you?" he asked politely.

"My name is Alisha Crallis," she responded.

"Glad to meet you," he said, "now follow me." Alisha followed him out the door to different areas in a wide area of land. Each area, she noticed, belonged to a certain type of pokemon.

"Now, you can look around to see which pokemon you want," Prof. Oak instructed. Alisha pranced around to each fenced-in area. When she got to the water pokemon section, she gazed around at all the swimming pokemon. She was about to move on to another section when a small, sphere-like pokemon with two antennae popped out.

"Oh! How cute!" Alisha said, now staring at the little Chinchou.

"Chin-Chou, Chin," the little water and electric type pokemon.

Alisha giggled. How ah-dorable!

"Um, Mr. Oak," Alisha called him over, "can I have this little Chinchou?"

"Are you sure? This pokemon is a bit silly and goofy. It might be a bit hard to train," he questioned.

"I'm sure," Alisha said, knowing that she couldn't resist the cute pokemon's appeal.

Prof. Oak led her back into the lab and handed Alisha the pokeball that held her brand new pokemon.

"Well," he said, "congratulations. Here's a couple of facts you might want to know about your Chinchou. Its ability is called, Volt Absorb. So if it is hit with an electric-type move, it regains some HP."

"Cool," Alisha said. She released her Chinchou and cradled it in her arms.

"Well, you might need these," Prof. Oak said, handing her 5 pokeballs, a Town Map, and a Pokedex.

"The Town Map is for navigating your way through all the different places. The Pokedex is for keeping track of the pokemon you have seen and caught. Lastly, the pokeballs are for catching different pokemon in the wild," he added.

"Thanks you, Prof. Oak," Alisha smiled. She happily skipped out of the building. She was confident and ready to start her journey on being the greatest coordinator.

Elizabeth Vivian Rose. The girl who is going to get her first Pokemon today. The girl who's brother was a famous Pokemon ranger. The girl whos parents died when she was 7. Yes... THAT girl. The moment she gets her first Pokemon, her adventure starts.

"Elli! Come down here before the Dragonite Bus leaves the ranger station! Its a miracle they let you on, so lets go!" Benjamin shouted up the stairs. He put his hand on the railing and tapped his foot. "Elizabeth!" Wow, was he impatient.

"I'm coming Ben! Just wait while I get my hair up." Elli said through a scrunchie. Benjamin's Raichu climbed up onto her dresser, looking at itself in the mirror. How vain... She grabbed the town map off the bed and had one last look at herself then she ran downstairs. "Lets get on the Dragonite Bus!" She jumped the last step and put her hand up in the air, the other one on her hip.

-------_-------_-------_-------_-------------_-----

"Professor Oak! I'm here to get my first Pokemon! I called you yesterday." Elli came tumbling through the door, Ben not far behind her.

"Oh, its Elli and Benjamin!" an fairly aged man came out of a sliding door, wearing the usual professor wear. He waved. "I have your Pokemon right here, I think you'll be excited. He took out a pokeball and let out the pokemon.

"Happiny! Happi!" A pink ball of fluff came out and looked up at the sky.

"Ohhh! Yeah! This is it!" She ran to the Happiny and it squealed.

"Elli! Let go of that poor Pokemon." Ben shouted. He sighed. "I feel sorry for any Pokemon paired up with you." He put his hand on his forehead, and shook his head.

"Oh, its okay Benjamin, Elli is quite alright with that Happiny. Its very enduring to everything." Professon Oak smiled. "Now, you can take the Pokemon home, rest for a little, and start your adventure. Take these Pokeballs before you leave."

"Thanks Oak." Benjamin called as the two of them left.

"It's no problem, my son. Just take care of Elli, would ya? Maybe you could take a breather from Ranger life and join Elli? Maybe not."

Ben shrugged. "I dunno if I can squeeze that time in. I'll think about it."

Elli came back and pulled Ben's sleeve. "Come on, Ben. Let's go home so I can give this Happiny some rest."

"Sure Elli. Bye Professor." He waved as he ran out the door.

"Ah haha. I love those kids." He sighed. "I remember when Benjamin came here to get his Pikachu... Good times...." As they left, the professor went back to his desk.

As Sakura left the Pokemon center early that morning, she had a strange confidence she was actually going to get somewhere in this world. Getting a Pokemon would be the start of a grand adventure which would last many years. She wouldn't be able to go home for a long time, well if she had a home...

"Nurse Joy, I'll be leaving now." Sakura said as she left the Pokemon center.

"Thank you, and we hope to see you again!" Nurse Joy called in her usual choral tone.

Sakura smiled weakly. After so many nights in the Pokemon Center, Nurse Joy's peppiness would start to get to you. As she passed the counter, she tossed the room key onto it.

The automatic door closed behind Sakura, causing a mechanical sliding sound. She passed another trainer sprinting into the Pokemon center with a KO'ed Pokemon in his arms.

"Nurse Joy, Nurse Joy!!!" he called. "I found this Pokemon in front of my house.

"Jaden?" Nurse joy raised her eyebrow. "How long ago was this?"

"Um...Um..." he shifted his eyes back and forth. "About half an hour ago... I- I didn't know what to do, so I just carried him to you. I'm sorry!!!!"

Nurse Joy sighed and took the Pokemon. "Now you just go back to your house and I'll take care of this poor Pokemon.

Jaden nodded and left.

"So this is what I'll go through, huh?" Sakura muttered.

[After that, Sakura went to Professor Oak's Lab and got her first Pokemon, Misdreavus, and a bunch of other trainer stuff.]

User ImageA cool breeze blew past the green haired boy as he stood at the edge of a fairly large ferry. The ship was called S.S Anne, a pretty famous ship in the Kanto region. It had made it's way from the Sinnoh region, which a days sail away from the region of Kanto. As he looked over the edge into the horizon, Marck thought of what pokémon he would get from the professor that lived in Kanto. When his father, who was now an assistant to Professor Rowan back home, told him what pokémon they had to offer, he was not very enthused. No bug types at all. However, when he was boarding the ship back home his mother told him that she had a surprise for him when he got to Professor Oak's lab. Breaking the horizon was the first sight of land that they had seen all day. A large smile spread across Marck's face as the land became larger and larger with each passing second. He was there. He was in Kanto, were his coordinator journey would start.

As he stepped off the S.S Anne, he looked around at his new surroundings. Pallet Town was small with less people running around with their pokémon, getting ready for the upcoming contests. Another thing he noticed was that there was neither a pokémon center or pokémart, two things that were in almost every city and town in Sinnoh. He let out a big sigh of relief that he was finally off that blasted ship. Marck often got seasick on ships, ever since he was little. It was the constant back and forth motion that upset his stomach. Walking around the quaint town, he soon saw a large building with a sign that read 'Professor Oak's Laboratory' on it. This must be the place he thought to himself. After walking up the large hill, he moved out of the way for a younger girl and what seemed to be her older brother. He was dressed in the attire for that of A Pokémon Ranger. He had heard about them from his sister on one of her phone calls. Walking through the doorway, he saw the elderly Professor at his desk, which was covered with stacks of papers and pokéballs. "Um, Professor? Is this a good time for you?" He was slightly nervous about meeting the older man, who his father praised as one of the most intelligent researcher in the world.

"Ah, yes, come in. You must be Marck. Your mother called me yesterday after you left on the ferry."

"She did? Why would she do that?" Marck cocked his head to the side slightly, thinking about why his mother would call the Professor.

"She send me your gift. I have it right here." He reached into one of the draws on the desk and pulled out Net Ball. "Your mother told me how you did not find any of my starter pokémon suiting for you likes. So she went out and captured one for you. Look here." The pokéball opened and standing between them was a Surskit. "She told me how you liked bug pokémon and sent this to me yesterday." The Surskit looked up at Marck for a second before leaping onto his head, wrapping it's legs around his head and smiling. It looked like Surskit was a helmet on his head.

"Awww, he so cute. I love him." He picked the Surskit off his head and held it tightly to his chest, giving it a bear hug.

"Well, I can see you to will be a perfect match, so just let me give you these and you will be on your way." Going back to his desk, he removed five regular pokéballs and a red object. "This is called the Pokédex. It will help you keep track of all the pokémon you meet and capture. The thing is that when you go to a different region, you will need to get a new Pokédex for that region. Well, here you go and I wish you luck on your journey." He handed Marck the Pokéballs and Pokédex and waved goodbye. Marck mimicked and walked out of the building after putting the new objects into an orange backpack that he wore. Also inside the bag was a Town Map, an Accessory Case to hold his contest accessories and a Seal Case, which held the different seals he would get for his contests. All of these were given to him by his mother, so proud that her only son wanted to follow in her footsteps. He walked down the hill again and headed for a route that headed out of Pallet Town. Route one was were he needed to go in order to get to Veridian City, the next stop on his pokémon journey.

Della stood in front of the entrance to Professor Oak's lab. Trainers occasionally pushed their way past her and into the lab. She watched them leave with a shiny new Pokeball in hand. Della sighed briefly before setting her shoulders and preparing to march into the lab. She'd come out with a Pokemon, whether or not Prof. Oak had acquired the one she wanted.

The inside of the lab was cool and metallic, but with a well used and cared for air. Della looked for one of Prof. Oak's aides. She saw one standing at a desk to her right, peering down at a computer screen jammed with unreadable text. She approached the aide and cleared her throat. Without turning, the aide asked what she wanted.

"I was hoping to pick up my first Pokemon, a Poochyena, from Professor Oak today," she answered as she tried to not take offense at the aide's rude tone.

The aide responded in a rushed voice. "Go straight to the back and take a left. Professor Oak should be to your right."

"Thank you." Della left the aide and went to the back of the lab. She found Prof. Oak to her left and waiting for her, a bookcase of Pokeballs behind him.

"Hello, Prof. Oak. My name's Della, and I came to get the..." Della began.

Prof. Oak smiled and interrupted her. "Hello, Della. I'm sorry that I have to be so quick today, but I have much to do, and many trainers have decided to make this their day to begin their journey." He handed her a Pokeball, a Pokedex, and a Town Map. "You can get 5 empty Pokeballs from my aide at the front door. Inside that Pokeball, however, is the Poochyena you requested. Treat her well, and she will help you on your journey as a Pokemon Trainer. Use the Pokedex to record data on any Pokemon you see for my records. Now, if you'll excuse me, I just have to..." His words drifted off as he left Della standing alone at the back of the lab.

Della put the Pokeball, Pokedex, and Town Map in her bag next to the 3000 Pokedollars she had saved up. She returned to the front of the lab and received her 5 Pokeballs. She stashed the Pokeballs and left the lab. On her way out of Pallet Town, she let out her new Pokemon.

"Hello. My name's Della. You're my very first Pokemon. I hope we do very well together. Ever since I decided I was going to be a trainer, I've thought about the first Pokemon I've wanted and what I'd name it. I decided on Raeya. How do you like it?" Della asked her Pokemon, Poochyena. Raeya cocked her head, but didn't seem to object to the name. "Well, then. Now that introductions are out of the way, we should continue on with our journey. Onward to Route 1!"

Trainer and Pokemon took their first steps together as the team that could bring them across the country, and even to the doors of the Elite Four and beyond as the sun slowly passed noon.

Ilfa loved flying.
She loved the wind in her hair and the soft, downy feathers of her mother's Swellow; she loved watching the little people and trees and buildings zoom past below; she loved the huge, blue expanse of sky, and how they traversed it but could never reach the end. Normally she was reluctant to land, reluctant to slide back onto ground and feel small and insignificant again.
But today, she almost injured herself, tumbling dramatically off the Swellow. It had felt so long, flying from Saffron to Pallet - but the wait was well worth it.
She ran up to the laboratory. It was very distinctive - unlike the other buildings, it was vast, modern and clean. Too excited to knock, she bursted in. It didn't seem like anyone else was there.
Then she realized just how big it was. There were so many doors...many of which had scary-looking names written above them. No-one else was in this room with her - how was she supposed to find her way around?
It was like climbing Mount Coronet and finding it walled off at the top.
Then someone came through one of the doors carrying a flask of clear liquid. He noticed Ilfa and smiled. His smile unnerved her, for some strange reason.
"You're going to get your first Pokemon, huh?"
She nodded. "Um...which way?"
He gestured to a door labelled 'NTS-49'. She wondered how she was supposed to know that.
"Just in there. So, what are you getting?"
Ilfa frowned. She hadn't thought about this. How stupid of her! There were so many...
"I don't know. I guess I'll find it when I see it."
The man smiled again, and a chill ran down Ilfa's spine.
"This may sound cliched, but it's the Pokemon who picks the owner, after all."
She nodded politely, wanting to get away and meet her new Pokemon as fast as possible.
He smiled, as if he could read her mind. "Well, I don't want to delay you any longer. Oh, yeah - you should have these." He fished around in his pocket for a while before tossing her some Pokeballs. "These are -"
"I know," Ilfa replied, tired of acting patient. "Can I go now?"
The aide looked slightly taken aback, and Ilfa felt a little ashamed.
"Oh, uh, sure. Just go on right ahead."
The need to see her new Pokemon overrode the need to be courteous and Ilfa flung open the door without so much as knocking. She had been expecting perhaps cages and cages of different Pokemon, or maybe the walls plastered with different pictures. As it was, she was a little disappointed. There were just Pokeballs on the desk. The Pokemon weren't even outside.
She looked around; there didn't seem to be anyone here. She was alone. Again.
A greedy impulse stole through her mind. She didn't just have take one - she could take as many as she liked. She could build up her dream party right now.
She crept forward and peered into the balls. Some faces snarled at her; others observed her with mild curiousity; still more were sleeping peacefully. Some blatantly ignored her, yawning, turning around. There was only one that looked a little afraid, a little apprehensive. It was a Seel.
She probed at the Seel's pokeball; it shied away from her hand, shivering. Slowly, she closed her hands around the Pokeball.
"Ah - I see you've chosen your Pokemon."
Ilfa turned around so quickly she dropped the Pokeball. It opened and the Seel formed in a flash of red light. The aforementioned Pokemon squeaked and buried its face in its front flippers.
Professor Oak himself was standing before Ilfa. "This...this is the Pokemon you've chosen, correct?"
Ilfa thought. She looked back at the other Pokeballs. Every single one of the Pokemon was glaring at her angrily or snarling with open hostility. Some of them were even banging against their balls.
She looked at the Seel, and it looked back at her with its puppy eyes. Her heart melted.
"Yeah," she agreed, crouching down. She made to stroke the frightened Seel, but it darted away.
"Looks like it's a little nervous," Professor Oak commented. "He's a little shy, this one. Well - very shy."
She smiled.
"I don't care," she replied.

"Look - look, Dad!" Ilfa burst into the room. "Look - I have my very own Pokemon! And this - this is called a Pokedex, and every Pokemon I see or catch, it tells me! And these are Pokeballs, and I can catch new Pokemon! Oh, and Mum gave me a map - you know, so I don't get lost - I'm gonna be a real co-ordinator!"
Her father smiled.
"Sweetie, that's wonderful! Let's see your new Pokemon, then."
Ilfa released him obediently.
"He's a Seel, and I've decided to call him Safin - Saf for short. And he's a bit shy, but I'm sure he'll overcome that soon."
A bit shy was an understatement. Safin looked absolutely terrified.
"Hey - hey, Safin. Come on, Saf. Calm down. You're with me, now. Ssh. Don't worry. Everything's okay. I'm nice. That's Dad - he's nice, too."
Ilfa's talk seemed to calm Safin somewhat. He stopped trying to hide.
"Come on, Saf. Come on. Work with me."
She was talking gently and beaming wide, as if trying to teach him how to do it.
To her surprise, Safin lost some of his shyness - and smiled back.

Today was the day; the day Sora Kagami was going to get her first Pokemon. The twelve year-old awoke to her alarm clock, and the radio-alarm turned to a foracious rock song which in turn, took Sora by surprise as she tumbled down the bed. It was 8:39am. She moaned and picked herself up, and looked at her calendar for the events of today. She was shocked to see what it read.
"Prof. Oak's 7:00 am! Omigosh! I'm so late!" Sora quickly turned off the radio and threw on a jacket and hurried out the door. She had gotten home late from her brothers tournament last night, and hadn't bothered to change into pajamas before going to sleep. "Shugo, its time to go~oooo!" Sora called down the stairs as Shugo, Sora's brother quickly turned off his music and grabbed his Alakazam's Pokeball.
"Go! Alakazam!" He called as the desired Pokemon came out. "C'mon! You know we've been training for this! You have to use Teleport on Sora to go to Pallet town."
"Ala-AlakaZAM!" It promptly did just that the second Sora came down the stairs. Alakazam did it all at the wrong time.

~

A few moments later, Sora appeared right in front of Prof. Oak's Lab. She was so disappointed in Alakazam, she hadn't even gotten the things she was supposed to bring. I bet Shugo must be so ashamed of Alakazam now, but I guess you can't change the past. Anyway, she was really late. She dusted off her pants and came in the door.
"Excuse me! Do you need assistance?" The sudden voice startled Sora. She turned around and tried to respond.
"Ah- Er..." She scratched the back of her neck. "I was supposed to be here to get my first Pokemon... The event was scheduled for 7:00."
"My, my! You are very late." He looked at his watch, then back at Sora. He called Prof. Oak and the famous rofessor was at the scene in a within seconds.
"Sora!" He scolded. "Why so late!?" Sighing, he grabbed Sora by the shoulder and led her to his office. "Sora, I am sorry to say this, but your desired Pokemon was taken. You were so late, I couldn't reserve it. This is the only Pokemon I have left for you to take." He held out the familiar Red and white globe as he released the Pokemon inside.
"Munch, MunchLAX!" A Munchlax? This was the best the professor could do to reserve it? She stood there aweshocked. "I... I- I can't take this Munchlax!" She yelled. If not for the yelling, she would have never gotten it out.
"So sorry, but maybe this will teach you to never be late." The professor stated in a lecture-like tone, with his finger pointed to the sky, his eyes closed, and his chin up.
"Munchlax would be fine, i-its okay." Sora looked at the ground. Munchlax came over to Sora and put its arms up like a little kid who wanted to be carried. Sora patted his head and smiled. Maybe Munchlax wasn't so bad.
"Well! Look at the time, I need to be doing other business now." Prof. Oak stated. Munchlax was then put back into the ball, then promtly handed to Sora. He also managed to give her a Pokedex, 5 Pokeballs, and a Town Map. "Now you and Munchlax take care!" He waved goodbye as his aides pushed Sora out the door.

~

Sora was now at the Pokemon center, arguing with Shugo what had happened with the Alakazam incident, over the PC. Shugo was somewhat hard-headed, and refused to admit it was Alakazam's fault.
After a few minutes, Sora backed down, giving up, and then Shugo was satisfied. "Stupid stubborn blonde." she muttered as she shut the PC device to off.
She let Munchlax out and spoke to it. The Pokemon seemed to listen intently, staring at Sora when she spoke.
"I don't want to call you Munchlax; it's too long and it seems to get irritating after a while," Munchlax didn't seem at all hurt by this comment. "So... I decided to shorten your name a bunch, and now it is Max. Got it?"
Munchlax nodded and the two of them went off to the entrance of Route 1.

Good morning Kanto! The time now is 8:01, and it looks likes it's going to be a beautiful day today...

Rowen's radio alarm caused the young, blue-haired girl to stir in her sleep. She rolled over on her side, facing the radio on her night stand and slowly opened her eyes. She was naturally a morning person, so waking up early had never been a real challenge. Rowen enjoyed waking up to the radio, so she lay in bed a few more moments just listening to it.

It looks like it's going to be cool today, with highs in the low seventies - a nice relief from the heat wave we felt most of this summer. It looks a little cloudy out there right now folks, but don't let it get you down. Weatherman says those clouds will blow over by early afternoon and we'll have clear skies all day long with no chance of rain...

Rowen smiled and pushed herself out of bed. It would be a nice day today, which was just perfect considering it was a special day she'd been looking forward to for quite sometime. Today, she and her best friend, Ariel, were starting their Pokemon journey together.

Rowen left the radio on as she hopped out of bed, took a shower and got ready for the day. She put on her usual hot pink tank top with white lace trim and faded teal-gray mini jean shorts with a brown belt. Since she would be doing a lot of walking, she opted for socks and sneakers over the pink sandals she usually wore if she was just hanging out with Ariel around Pallet for the day. After drying her hair, she tied it up in pigtails with bright green ribbons and pinned back her long bangs to the side with hot pink and bright green clips.

Perhaps her most important accessory was a pair of pink goggles, given to her by her late grandmother (who was a trainer herself back in the day). She placed those around her neck and grabbed a light, hooded sweater to cover herself, since the radio had mentioned it would be cooler today. Rowen turned the radio off before heading downstairs where the rest of her family was already up and eating breakfast.

[OOC: I have to go soon, so I'll end this here. I won't edit this post, but rather post the rest of it in another post when I can. iChallenge, if you get the chance to post before I get back, your character could always just come to my house instead. It's up to you]

[OOC: Disregard above OOC since I got back before you posted]

-skips breakfast scene because is too lazy to RP Rowen's family. They're kind of boring...except Paige. Might do something with her much, much later on. Right now, I just want to get on with the plot and roleplaying her family will just make this post drag on unnecessarily-

Rowen finished her breakfast and headed towards the door where her stuff was waiting. She would be meeting her friend Ariel at her house this morning before taking off to see Prof. Oak about their Pokemon and Pokedex's. Rowen picked up her tan messenger bag and threw it over her shoulder and across her torso. It was fairly heavy, having been packed-full with all the necessities the night before.

She turned to her parents and kissed them goodbye, then bent down and did the same to her little sister, Paige. She was feeling a bit nervous about going off on this journey. She never strayed too far from home in the ten years she'd lived in Pallet town. Not only that, but she was very shy and not good at meeting new people. But regardless, she'd always wanted to be a Pokemon trainer. And at least, she thought, she wouldn't be going alone. Her best friend would be by her side through it all, and that was comforting to know.

Rowen took a deep breath and said her final goodbyes before heading out the door to Ariel's house.

A cute girl stood on the front of a small ferry, the harsh wind from the boat's speed blowing the bangs into her face. On more than one occassion, she had to close her eyes tightly, turning her head to the side. The light brown hair, half of it pulled on one side in a small light pink ribbon, waved alongside her bangs as her head turned. The green skirt danced about her legs.

A young boy a bit older than her watched her from the corner of his eye. She looked lost, unsure of what she was doing. The wind obviously was harming her, yet she stayed on top. A one strapped backpack was slung over her head, hanging against the opposite hip to the shoulder it lay on.

Or, at least, these were things he wished to believe.

Squaring his shoulders, the young boy made his way over to her, making sure to keep one hand on the railing in case the ferry shook unexpectedly. She paid him no notice as he approached. Perhaps couldn't even see him. Nevermind. This didn't detour him.

"Good evening," he said politely, holding out his hand in an introduction. Fighting with the wind still, she glanced up, than at his hand, before shaking it. "What is your name? Where are you going?"

The girl eyed him strangely, like she didn't believe his intentions for coming over. "You don't want to be talking to me," was all she said, lowering her head again at a stronger gust of wind then usual. "My name is not important to you. You'll see where I'm going soon enough." Land was coming into view. He figured she was heading there. Pallet Town. Meaning she must be starting a Pokemon journey. Drat. He was going somewhere else.

"Pallet Town, eh?" he continued, not feeling detoured. "Another cute girl going into the field of Pokemon." Bold, but whatever. Why not be bold, she was leaving in a minute.

It was a while before she answered him, but he waited. No need to rush her. The ferry docked to land and the ramp was lowered for the passengers to get off. Without making her response, the girl turned to leave. At the top of the ramp, she turned around, flashing him a smile before announcing," I'm a boy," with a wink and in a most convincing male voice that didn't leave him wondering. Watching her-no, him-get off the ferry, the older boy hoped to never cross paths with this one again.

Chuckling still at his encounter, Angel shifted the bag on his shoulder, a map of Pallet he had brought from Celedon firmly in hand. He wasn't familiar with any other town or city besides Celadon. Not that Pallet Town appeared to be that large. It still cut wandering around in half.

Ever since he had began wearing girls clothes, his amusement at the reactions he recieved never faltered. This had to be the best part about his decision. He was often confused with being a girl before doing this enough as was. But now he looked every inch a girl-well, almost-and barely a boy. He almost wished he'd done this earlier. Skirts were very comfortable and cool in the warmth.

Just as he expected, getting to the lab didn't take him very long. Least not with this map. Folding it up, he made his way up the walkway to the front door. Before he could open the door to enter, it swung open and he nearly collided with an old man. He doubled back to get out of the way, but that wasn't necessary. The man had stopped just short of the doorway, staring down at Angel with a kind smile on his face.

"I'm sorry," he apologized, shaking Angel's hand before the poor boy knew what was going on. "I saw you from the window while I was putting away Pokeballs and wanted to greet you myself. I'll take it you're here to get your first Pokemon. Right this way, please." And before Angel could say anything, the man took off further into the house. Angel followed.

The end of the man's path through the house was a room full of weird machines and a few stray Pokeballs on shelves. Angel couldn't help looking around. So much that he almost bumped into the back of the man when he stopped besides a table. The boy quickly moved backwards, yet again, as the man turned around.

"I am Professor Oak," he said, closing the lid of something red in his hands. Angel wasn't focusing on his hands. "And you would be?"

"Oh...I'm Gabriel," he answered, figuring in the prescence of Oak he should use his real name. "Gabriel Aiken."

"Gabriel Aiken?" he repeated. Than something seemed to register in his mind. "Ooh. Yes. I recieved a message from an Emily Sanders, breeder of Celedon. She said you would be by. You want to be a Breeder, hm? She has no doubt you'll do fine at that occupation." Looking down at his hands, like he forgot what was in them, he handed the machine in his hands over to Angel. "This is your Pokedex. And your map of Kanto," he added, taking a folded bit of paper from the table besides him. "And your Pokemon..." He trailed off, striding over to the shelves to poke through the Pokeballs. He picked them up, felt their weight, as if he was remembering what was inside them. Finally, he seemed to agree upon one. "I will assign you this one. Since Emily thinks highly of you, I believe you will be best for this one. She is a bit shy and timid."

Taking the Pokeball from Oak, Angel felt a rush of adrenaline run through his body. His first Pokemon. His. Not a client's. Not Emily's. His. Without thinking much more on the subject, he gently opened the ball. The Pokemon erupted from it, not on the ground, but in the air. Flapping wings that seemed made of clouds or cotton.

"A Swablu!" Angel said excitedly. Perhaps a little too loud, for the timid Swablu, already eyeing him shyly, quickly darted behind the Professor, peering out from between his legs. "Oops, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. What kind of food does she like?" The last he directed, of course, at Oak, looking up at the man from his crouched down position. When the answer was sweet, Angel opened his bag to rummage through it. What he brought out caught the Swablu's interest.

Swablu poked her beak out from behind the Professor's legs, wanting to test the sweet smell of the Pokemon food without leaving her sancturary. The boy refused to come closer, wanting the Pokemon to trust him to come closer. It took a few minutes before she flapped her way over to him, now hopping on the ground, and he lowered his hand so she could eat. At the taste of the food, she let out a happy tweet.

"You seem to have made friends with her already," Oak commented, watching as the Swablu nuzzled Angel's leg. He patted her head. "You should do fine. Goodluck with your journey." Angel nodded his thanks, raising to his feet with the Swablu on his shoulders, and began to walk to the door. Before he could reach it, one of the Professor's aids stopped him at the door. The Swablu pressed further against Angel's cheek.

"Sorry to stop you, but I think you'll find these helpful." He handed Angel five Pokeballs, making the number in his bag now six, including the Swablu's. The boy took them with a grateful smile and a wave as he left the building, tossing the Pallet Town map in the garbage on his way out. He only wanted it to get to Professor Oak's.

Outside, he turned to the Pokemon on his shoulder. "I should name you. How about Belle? Would you like Belle?" The Swablu announced her pleasure by nuzzling Angel's cheek. He gave her a scratch under the beak. "Belle it is," he concluded, as if he was making it official. He continued on to the Route to Viridian City, Belle perched on his shoulder for company.

And that was Pokemon Adventure dedicated to all of those trainers to be, as well as to the ones that want to be the best. The time is 8:30; Morning everyone…

The digital clock spoke as the alarm was signaled, causing the quiet brunette to slowly wake. The young girl rolled over in pain, grumbling under her breath, wanting to go back to sleep. She was not a morning person, far from it, waking up was a natural challenge for those of the night. Slowly the dark blue eyes opened up to look at the clock. It was flashing 8:30, she was running late.

“Not today!” she screamed as the blankets flew into the air and all that was seen running through the halls was a blur of black from her Pajama’s followed by a slam of the door to the bathroom. As the water started up for the shower all that ran through her head was all the talks she had with her best friend who was on the way as she showered. ‘Darn, why do I sleep on a day like today”, she sighed in self defeat.

Getting out of the Shower Ariel looked down the stairs hoping that her father was coming home for such a great day, but there was nothing. Her mother was already at work doing what she could to make ends meet, and letting her daughter grow to be independent without the help of her father. Dad, I’m going to find you, she thought before turning to her room, you can bet I‘ll be the one to find you.

Ariel put on her usual black and white leggings followed by a short black skirt and black tank top. Her black boots were a little heavy for the journey ahead but they were also dependable and built to last. After she drying her hair she grabbed her hat that never left her side and a bag full of suckers that she stashed into her bag.

Suckers to Ariel were like cigarettes to a smoker, it was something that she needed at all times. It could be completely finished but as long as there was still that stick in her mouth she was happy. Ariel slipped the suckers into her Messenger back and slid down the banister to have a quick breakfast before Rowen got there.

The house was quiet, it disappointed Ariel in a way. She wished her mom could be there for her, but the more she thought about the more she could not wait to get to the next town she could see her mom at the PokeMart, where she worked six days a week. “I guess I’ll see her soon,” Ariel smiled, “but first; Breakfast”

Cereal and a glass of Orange juice was on the menu today. Sugar, Calcium and OJ was the three important things to start a Journey. Sure Potions and Pokeballs were important, but if a trainer is unhealthy then all that means nothing. “Well Ralts, today you and I will finally meet” she thought aloud, “I cant wait to see you”.

After Breakfast Ariel finished her packing. Everything was ready just in ever room of the house. Some clothing from her room, her toiletries from the bathroom, and her allowance that she gave to her mom to save up. After all that was finally put together in her Messenger bag she stepped outside and looked around at Pallet town as the little kids played in the sun.

Ariel took a deep sigh, this was the last time she would see her street before her journey to become the Champion. Rowen lets do our best
PostPosted: Mon Sep 22, 2008 11:01 am

Rowen walked along the dirt path that served as the road along her street. Ariel lived on the same street, just a few houses down in the direction of Oak's lab. Because her house was closer, they agreed to meet at Ariel's place.

Ariel's house came into view and, as she grew closer to it, Rowen could see her friend coming outside. Right on time, she thought. Rowen smiled brightly and waved her arm to get Ariel's attention, picking up her pace to a clumsy jog. Her pigtails swished back and forth and her messenger bag bounced on her hip.

"Hey! Ariel!" she called. Rowen made it to the house faltering only once or twice. "Are you ready to go?" she asked. It was funny how upbeat and friendly she was around Ariel. One wouldn't think she was shy or quiet at all. But it takes a long time for Rowen to get really comfortable being herself around anyone, including Ariel.

"Let's go get our Pokemon!" Rowen smiled cheerfully and took Ariel's hand, pulling her gently along towards the lab. "We don't want to be late and have Prof. Oak give them away."

Tentacruel pulled up to the Pallet Town shore, allowing Jake had his mom, Mary, to step onto land. Mary pulled out a pokeball and re-called Tentacruel. She then turned to Jake and hugged him. Crying, she began to speak, "I'm so proud of you honey. I remember when I was leaving to start my journey." Jake responded and after about five minutes of talking, Jake received P Pokedollars from his mom. She then sent Tentacruel back out and began surfing back to Cinnabar Island.

After that, Jake then walked into Professor Oak's lab to obtain his starter pokemon.

At first the voice did not register, but as her warm blue eyes turned to see her friend that faltered more then once, but less then usual. “Hey ya!“ she smiled as she gave a gentle smile waved happily, “Of Course, I am”. hiding the fact that she was just running around her house like a chicken with its head cut off, but that something that was either written on her face, which meant Rowen could already tell, or it was something that was not going to matter later on.

“Yeah, I can’t wait for my Ralts” she added happily before Rowen started to drag her lightly. “With you draggin’ me I think we’ll have lots of time to go” she chuckled as she looked at her best friends face an thought about how much they both had changed. It was really amazing that a person could effect another. Rowen had calmed the inner rage that built up inside Ariel, smoothing the rough edges that had been exposed. And Ariel could tell that Rowen had grown as well, she was never as shy as she used to be, still had her moments, but they seemed to be a once in a while event.

Have you thought of a name for your Pokemon yet?” she asked as the Laboratory of the infamous Professor Oak came into view, “I’m going to name Ralts, Athena,” she exclaimed in excitement, “Come on!”. Her steps quickened and she was soon dragging Rowen, her excitement was getting the best of her.

Rowen allowed herself to be dragged by Ariel. It was more familar to her then it was the other way around since Ariel waas always more outgoing and assertive than she. "Athena is a good name for a Ralts," she replied. "Professor Oak said he had a Squirtle for me. I thought about its nickname all day yesterday and I finally decided on Suiko. What do you think? Is that good?" Rowen asked self-consciously. Despite her growth over the years, she still seeked acceptance from others, especially from Ariel. Rowen couldn't help but think sometimes that their friendship was too good to be true. She was always afraid that one day Ariel might grow tired or annoyed with her. Even though, deep down, she knew their friendship was genuine, Rowen could never truly block out the doubt and so, she was constantly trying to please Ariel.

The girls continued along the uphill path to Oak's lab near the edge of town. The place was extravagant and huge; the girls would pop in for a visit every now and then when they had a whole day free. Rowen personally enjoyed spending time with all of the Pokemon Prof. Oak housed for traveling trainers. It was on one of these visits, after the girls had expressed interest in becoming trainers, that Prof. Oak told Rowen about a Squirtle he had who would be the perfect starter for her. She was very excited about it and talked of nothing but this day since then.

"Look! We're almost there," she said as she pointed towards the large white observatory that peeked out over the hill. "I'm so excited! This is really it! We're going to be Pokemon trainers and travel all over the world together! And,"she added with a much more serious and sympathetic tone, "And hopefully we'll also find...him." Rowen paused after that. She knew she didn't need to say anything more for Ariel to no what she was talking about.
