Nikita's reaction to Casi's strange words was simply a bewildered blink. Some people certainly were strange...although he had met plenty stranger then her, at least. And at least she wasn't scary about it; he'd met plenty of scary strange people.
Mentally making a note to check into that ground floor apartment, he treated her final words with an expression that was just as bewildered as before.
"That's...n-nice."
So random.
Shaking his head slightly, he returned to more pressing matters then pondering the strangeness of the new guardian.
"So d-do you like this building, or would you prefer one of the o-others?"
Of course, if she wanted the ground floor, he thought she'd be stuck here. But he could check, at least, if she'd prefer a nicer building.

Yup... that was it. He thought she was a psycho-case or something, she could tell by the ginger way he handled her love of coffee. She gave a sigh, shoulders drooping, looking even more tired than before.
"Oh.. yeah. This is really nice, I'm fine with here." She eyed the floor with sleepy concentraition as she clamored around in her mind to work up the balls to try asking again before he broke it off completely and just left.

The coffee comment disappeared from his mind as he nodded, and offered a faint smile. Alright, all that was left then, was to take care of the paperwork.
"I'll t-take care of the paperwork, then. We'll m-mail you with the details of housing, and c-call you when your Sylph has been born..."
Oddly enough, he didn't really mind the paperwork that much. It wasn't like it asked questions, afterall - it was nice, simple, mind-numbing work that required no scary people. Unless the higher-ups had questions about it, anyway.

Quick! Now was her chance. She sensed things would be ending soon and she didn't know if she'd be able to come in contact with him again after this. "Oh, uh.. thank you. Hey, errr..." She took a deep breath, trying to seem casual. "Would you like to go get some uh.. some coffee sometime? I mean.. doesn't have to be today just.. sometime. Eventually."
There, she said it, and it didn't turn out as a complete disaster like her previous attempt, or so she thought. She waited on more of an edge than she wanted to be for his answer... she told herself that this wasn't even going to be considered a date. They'd talk about Sylphs and weather and she'd probably end up acting like a space cadet in some fashion until it ended and he would vow to never set up a meeting with her again. She was slightly annoyed with how much she -wanted- him to accept. She was far from adept at knowing what to do with the other gender, particularily when they were cute to boot.
This would just be a friendly outing, get to know him more. He was nice afterall, and if he worked here with the Sylph's she'd be seeing him plenty, right?

Coffee? Well, Nikita wasn't a huge fan of coffee...but tea was alright. Wait - did this mean he didn't come off as a stammering idiot for once? Maybe he was getting better with his social skills?
Well, that brightened his day. Even if the thought of continual interaction with someone made him want to go hide...but it wasn't like he could refuse.
"...s-sure?"
Gah. Hopefully she wouldn't take him up on this anytime soon - he was enjoying - well, kind of enjoying - his respite from having to deal with many people. And while she didn't terrify him nearly as much as some of the guardians (or co-workers, for that matter), she was still, well...a person. And therefore, any kind of social outing was bound to be uncomfortable.
And of course, the blonde man didn't have the slightest clue that she had meant it as a date; the thought never even crossed his mind. Although that was good for her - if he had realized, he would have already fled, after stammering out some excuse.

Casi smiled brightly, for a moment looking fully awake and alert. She nodded shyly, hair tousling in front of her face as she did so. "Great... uh.. is there... or maybe you could just.. uh. I don't have... a cellphone.." She squirmed mentally. She'd managed to -ask- him but now she had no way of making further contact. How unproffesional.
"Well maybe... if you.. when you have some time just come over and.. ask? Or.. uh.. I'll be able to find you at the front from time to time, won't I? If I see you and have the time I'll ask. I think.. uh.. I think that's easier than setting a time and day.. if you don't mind." She looked up sleepily sheepish through her hair, reaching up to scratch the back of her head.

And on the top of that, well...his apartment was his. One place where no one - alright, most - people left him alone. The few exceptions to that weren't really people he could stop, anyway; he worked for them. Well, and Sariael, but he had raised her, so she didn't scare him like others.
Nikita shifted towards the door, ready for his content solitude again - even with the threat of social interaction upon him, at an unspecified time. Oh well. At least it wasn't like Dmitriev had invited him over for tea.
Although if Dmitriev invited him over for tea and biscuits, it would mean that he'd probably want to alert Divinity, and hide somewhere, until they managed to wrangle Dmitriev's sanity back in.

Casi smiled and nodded, watching as Nikita left. She gave a small wave to his back. She stayed in the upper apartment just a little longer, enjoying the view from the window.
She wondered what it would be like... having a kid around.
