As usual, Yukio wasn't bound to get any hints, specially on only the first one, and so he remained wonderfully clueless. He gave her a look that said it was an odd question, but didn't hesitate in his answer. "I would love you if you were fat, if you were bone thin, and even if your spots fell off!" He nibbled a little at her mane a little, before nuzzling her cheek.

Daveigh couldn't help the smile that appeared on her face. Her mate was such a clueless boy but she still loved him and his cluelessness always made it fun to play I spy. "But what if I was mean, I cried all the time, or I couldn't sleep and kept you up along with me? Would you still love me?" Now she was speaking not only of herself but of what the foals would undoubtedly do to them after they were born. She really wished she could have faith in her love to catch on but she didn't.

Yukio gave her a odd look again, his mind wondering why she was asking all these silly questions all of a sudden. "Then I would do my best not to annoy you, to comfort you when you cried and keep you company. Of course I would love you no matter what mood you were in, honey, don't I already?" He was a little hurt that she would even think of questioning his loyalty to her. "You're starting to worry me hun, do you think I'm going to run off with the next mare who comes along? Is that what this is all about?"

Daveigh could see and hear hurt in Yukio's voice. Oh now this brought on the ever loving mood swings and her mood plumitted. Tears began to form in her eyes as she thought of how he must feel her questioning him. She bit lightly down on her lip to keep the tears from coming free and instead of speaking she just nodded to Yuki's first question and shook her head to his last two. She feared if she spoke now her voice would crack and her tears would fall. Oh she was crying over nothing! She felt so childish.

Yukio was now utterly confused and a bit alarmed, first not sure what she was nodding or shaking her head to, and instead took it that she was afraid he'd run off on her, and secondly that he seemed to have hurt her feelings...how he had no freakin' clue! Not knowing the true reason behind on this yet, he reached out nuzzled her again, and tried to comfort her that he'd never leave her, he loved her too much to want to leave her, and about how he was looking forward to a family with her and only her. "Please don't cry, hun, I'll never leave you for anyone elese...there IS no one else for me!"

That did it. His words brought out her tears. She quickly hid her face from his view by placing her face against his neck. "N-n-no Yuki. I was just trying to hint to y-y-y-ouu th-a-at..." She couldn't continue as her sobs took over. "A-a-nd now you think I don't trust y-y-ooouuu." She was outright bawling now. She was being so silly and just thinking how silly she was being made her tears worse.

Yukio was even more alarmed now and nipped and nuzzled wherever he could reach trying to comfort her, though he had no clue why she was like this nor what she'd been trying to hint to him about. "What is it, hun? What were you trying to hint to me?"

Slowly her tears faded and her mood began to change. By the time she raised her head up she looked irked and it was quickly changing to angry. "Oh come on Yuki! Put it all together. Why would I be fat, mean, cry a lot, and be so uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep at night?" She couldn't believe he hadn't figured this out yet. She knew she'd have to end up telling him straight up cause he wouldn't get it.

Yukio drew back quickly when she raised her head and pretty much snapped at him. Humbled, and even a bit more confused than before he mumbled out something, "I dunno, you're pregnant?" He gave the answer without really thinking about it and merely lay his head on the ground in defeat. Why was she treating him so? Gah, he felt like a little foal who'd been caught doing something he shouldn't of, and laid his ears back against his head, trying to think what he'd done wrong this time.

Daveigh blinked in shock at Yuki's answer. She almost couldn't believe that his first answer he'd gotten it right. This all seemed to level out her emotions and she stared calmly at the defeated form of her mate. "Yuki? Were you just guessing?"

Yukio was so afraid of making Daveigh mad at him that he didn't dare lift his head at the moment. "Yeah...why?" After a moment he finally did dare to look at her and looked into her eyes, trying to guage what she felt about him and if there was any anger left. "I'm sorry I made you angry..."

Seeing Yukio so afraid just to look at her made her feel really bad and almost cry all over again. This time however she forced her tears down she had to get this all out or it would just be a never ending circle. "No Yuki I'm sorry. It's not your fault. I should be happy but my emotions are just haywire right now. I just..." She stopped herself from continuing any further with her thought and started on a new one instead. "Would you believe me if I told you you're guess was right?"

Yukio's ears perked up when she voiced her last question, and he looked at her with wide-eyes. "You...what? I'm right? You can't be serious...." Yet everything about her told him she was, and it also explained everything so clearly now...her earlier questions, her emotions... "I'm going to be a daddy!?" He was becoming so exicited now that he could hardly contain himself. Almost reverently he nuzzled her tummy and whispered, "I'm going to be a daddy...."

Daveigh smiled at Yuki's excitement though her tears were inching back to her eyes and threatening to fall. They were going to be parents all by themselves. Yuki's nuzzle to her belly caught her by surprise and she flinched slightly before relaxing. "Parents... How are we going to keep foals safe here?"

Yukio had to really force his mind around Daveigh's question, so didn't answer for a moment as he took a more serious turn. "Well...this is a good spot here, it'll protect us from the worst of storms and of the snow so that we can keep them from getting sick, plus defensively, we can see predators before they can see us.... We'll have to teach them to obey us without question should we sense something...I'm sure we'll be okay, sweetie. I'm sure we aren't the only couple to start out alone, and I'll be with you every step of the way and we'll figure it out together. Besides, long as the foals have your brains, then all will be well."
