I don't particularly like the sound of Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, or Latin, but that doesn't stop me from learning all of them!

It still really depends on who is speaking the language though. Like, there are tons of japanese people woggling about my college, some of them sound fine, but some of them have really yucky nasally voices, and of course the girls often tend to have a stereotypical high-pitched voice.

High pitched and nasally! Eww... I always forget how nose-y of a language japanese is, probably because I don't do it in the right places. Like, often G's are turned into "ng" sounds, and many occurances of n, especially at the end of words, are dropped, and the previous vowel is shoved up your nose, ( by which I mean heavily nasalized). If I did do the nasalisation properly, I'd sound more natural, but I just feel so yucky talking like that.

But not every Japanese person does that, luckily. Thats one of the few things I dislike about Hindi too, theres a lot of places where you MUST nasalize the vowel. A prime example, the only thing distinguishiing the 3rd person singular and plural conjugations of the Hindi copula, is nasalization. Eww... I don't know how that developed, Sanskrit does nothing of the sort.

Hmmm. I'd have to say that I dislike Spanish the most. I don't know why, really, it's just never sounded very good to me. I used to speak it, but I forgot what little I knew over the years (of course). Though, in Spanish's defense, it can have its beautiful side.

Ya, Castillian Spanish is the beutiful side, much more elegant than Mexican Spanish to my ears.

I personally don't like Hmong, German, or Vietnamese.
Though I do have to agree with the previous statement that it does depend on the voice of the person speaking it too

I dislike my native language, English. Its so boreing because I have grown up with it my whole life. That is why I cannot think of another language that I dislike because they are all so beautiful in one way or another. I do dislike it when people hype up some languages more than others, especially if those 'others' actually deserve the hype that they are not getting more than the languages that do.

Hands down, Chinese. Because of the tones, for obvious reasons.
And I'm not a fan of Dutch.

Before I started studying Mandarin I didn't like the way it sounded, it made me think that the speakers had their tongues stuck to the bottom of their mouths confused
I dislike the way French sounds (and because I can't figure out French's spelling and pronunciation to save my life).
I dislike the way Spanish sounds around where I live, but in the film "Pan's Labyrinth" I adored the way the language sounded and my heart was fluttering from the beauty. redface

I can't stand dutch and german.
Dutch because of all the 'krjjjkkrjjj' and German of all those harsh sounds like ' sh, rsh, k ' and so, I find them particularily ugly.
Same for portuguese and many slavic languages ( including russian )

I don't like French because of all the nasal 'on' sounds.

I can understand all the Spanish-haters if they're talking about the dialects of the Americas (Mexican, Puerto Rican, Argentinian, etc.), but the Castilian dialect is so completely not ugly, I tell you... it's great. They don't sound like they're choking on their own tongues.

Anyway, the most horrible is French. I can say that Japanese annoys me 'til my head explodes, but it's not as ugly, anyway, as French. I have never heard anyone able to speak that language without the air of snobbish arrogance that inevitably comes along with it. Even my good friend Reix can't speak it without managing to sound like an uppity, high-strung little...

It may sound like I'm talking about the people here, but I'm really not. The tone just sounds arrogant beyond belief, no matter how nice the person speaking it (like my friend) is. German may be harshly guttural, but at least it sounds no-nonsense and proper.

Dutch drives me insane. I hate how it sounds spoken--which is funny, considering that I actually like Dutch, but hearing someone speak it makes me want to clamp my hands over my ears. gonk Where as I love the sound of German for some reason...
