Vacations

Fedee Event Roleplay

{Lysium had crossed her small arms and pouted while her small body was shaken by the trembling run of her father. Faiga was quite out of breath and his eyes were flickering around nervously. The small black cat on his head, who scratched him constantly, didn't help to stop this.

He had never been to an airport before. Muttering a hello he looked at the blonde woman and handed her his luggage. Lysium watched everything with interest, but still seemed pretty distressed about this kind of procedure. Shiver enjoyed it a lot though.

As soon as he spotted other daemon he meowed a "Hello !."

"Not late at all!" Pippin responds, offering to help with luggage as people arrive. All he does, however, is drop it down on the carts the blondes continue to load and unload, and earns a glare from one of them that he completely ignores.

Instead, he smiles brightly at Raya, but is quickly distracted by the increase in foot traffic. He raises his hands and points in the direction of the boarding gate, humming a song as he swings his arms.

Another blonde woman stands ready at the gate to check passes.

The three individuals walked through the ussual proceedures, except for the lack of baggage. Rogue Dragon smiled at that. True, he and his dragon could go where ever they wanted without the use of planes, but niether had a clue where the destination is to be. The fact that they were to be using a plane to travel didn't meant they would have any bags, except the one RD is carring filled with snacks and such.

Hoshiryuu wouldn't have bothered to use the plane at all, but Cho could use the company. Though true that RD was technically her guardian, the half-elf and porcelain acted more like mentor and student. As such, they got along, but weren't the closest of beings. Hoshiryuu on the other hand had spent the mojority of the last year or two with the juust over two feet tall lady, and one of her best friends. For her the small dragon would put up with the flying contraption, though a disgrace to any dragon not to fly by their own wings.

Cho stuck close to RD. His magic holding off the majority of the emmotions trying to flood her mind. With him near, she only felt those near-by, instead of the hundreds of others. She didn't quite understand how a non-empath could shield emotions, but she is quite glad to have his protection at the moment. Her focus on the emotions and thoughts threatening to engulf her if she strayed distracted her from her normal issues with dealing with humans, for the moment.

Looking around she couldn't really see much besides the countless knees at her eye level. They passed the metal detectors and RD found the terminal, but she hadn't seen anysign of those she;d met at the house. Well, really she had only met a couple of those people, but she had seen several of them at the different activities held at the house.

A moment latter the crowds split giving her the sight of children with creatures and adults near-by. Tugging on RD's sleeve she points them out to him.

Haze smiled warmly at Raya "You're joining as well? Wonderful! I worried that we wouldn't know anyone here." She was relieved that there were familiar faces joining them.

"It's a pleasure to meet all of you." She nodded before introducing themselves. "I'm Haze Wyndre, this is Elias Injo and Uninhabited. And yes, we are joining this vacation, it seems there are more Forgotten Documents than I had guessed." Her tone was neutral, neither happy nor displeased.

"I'm looking forward to this little getaway as well as becoming more acquainted with all of you."

Elias' anxiety of being in a very foreign place seemed to disappear upon seeing Fray. A wide grin preceeded what was an attempt at waving his arms in greeting. And then he spotted Lysium and his grin became larger, his friends were here!

As the group increased, Elias couldn't decide who to focus his attention on. On the one hand, he knew Fray and Lysium. On the other, Walter, Oblivion, Sen, Sevan, and the others were new faces and they all looked so interesting! "Geeeee!!!" he gurgled, as if greeting everyone.

Habi was tugging at the leash while keening pitifully. When she noticed Fray and his guardian arrive, she quickly scanned for Lav and she released an almost horrified squawk at her plight. No nice! she declared to Elias before responding to Shiver with a happy chirp. "Hi hi hiiiii!!! Lav not happy." she told Shiver, gesturing to the caged daemon with one of her wings.

The loudspeaker crackles and a man's voice breaks through the fuzz. "Now boarding flight 218, please report to boarding gate G6, flight 218, leaving in ten minutes, flight 218.."

"We'll have to talk on the plane, though." Ice said with a grin as she tugged both Walter and Oblivion to the boarding gate, following the crowd onto the plane as Walter grinned cheerfully up at the woman at the boarding gate, waving as they passed her, then blowing a kiss.

'Would you stop flirting? We don't have time.' Oblivion grumbled, only to get a pat on her head in response.

Quinn shuffled her way up the stairs, tugging on the leash every few moments to make sure the fluttery pair followed in her wake. Once onboard, she tossed her carry-on into the overhead compartment, using one hand and her head so she didn't have to relinquish control over Sev and then began pulling the girl down to her.

Grasping the winged-child firmly, she placed her in the provided child safety seat and buckled her in, grateful for the momentary break from leash duty. Hopefully, Sen wouldn't be able to figure out how to open all the buckles. Oh dear. What if Sen could figure out how to open all the buckles?!

Tail poofing in worried concern, Quinn sat down quickly next to her charges, eyes fixated on the buckles. Sevan just smiled up at her, innocent as could be, and gummed a bit at Sensations' tail, drool streaming down her sun-darkened chin.

A thought occurs to ROgue Dragon, perhaps with those children having animal companions they might think Cho is one with Hoshiryuu as a companion. Whether or not that is the case the emotional shielding should be done by the dragon seeing how the dragon will be with her more. Nobody here should find that at all odd. With a quick thought toward the dragon they switched who held the spell in place.

Cho noticed a slight difference but it was gone quickly. Looking at RD she queried himabout it. Nothing wrong. Well, that would keep her from having to close her mind, so she is naturally curious. Before she can ask for more details, she is pulled and pushed along by her two companions toward the lady checking tickets and then through some tunnel. Next thing she knew, they were in the plane taking seats near the others of the group. She forgot about the odd feeling. THis is her first time on a plane. RD is perfectly calm, but the dragon is hiding a dislike of planes. Not knowing dragons well enough to know the reason, she wonders about that and the plane ride.

Faiga twitched nervously as Shiver moved around on his head. Hopefully the cat wouldn't jump down and get lost and...

Shiver jumped down from the man's head.

Faiga squeaked slightly, but as he noticed that the cat didn't move away from them, he sighed out of relief. Lysium instead had put the tiniest of her fingers into her mouth and watched the hustle with narrowed eyes.

As everyone else started to move the man started to follow and ushered Shiver along. It was just like being a chocobo following the herd, actually.

Haze adjusted her hold on Elias before following the group while tugging at Habi's leash. She didn't quite know what to expect from an airport, was it similar to the docks? Were they going to ride a cruise ship of sorts? She couldn't help but feel just the slightest bit excited.

Of course she was quite stunned at the sight of the plane. It was certainly not like the ships back on Silar, as it was completely made of metal. There were no sails, no animals that would pull it, how on Silar was this going to transport them anywhere?

"Pardon my ignorance, but..." she nervously bit her lip, moving in close to Faiga. "Is this thing safe?" she asked him.

The loudspeaker crackles again.

"Last call for flight 218, please report to boarding gate G6.."

A small group ran towards the gate, led by a woman in a kimono, pulling a suitcase and herding a few children and a couple large, shaggy winged dogs behind her. "I can see it," she called behind her, waving her free arm. "Hurry up!"

No matter how many times Eriol insisted that he and Viviana and Linnea would be fine getting to the airport by themselves, his mother insisted otherwise. So he was stuck shouldering his backpack and lugging Viviana and Outcry in their bassinet through a crowd of busy people. Thankfully they were almost at the gate.

Linnea was also wearing a backpack, and pulled a smaller suitcase in one hand. In her other hand was a small cup of club soda, which looked bigger than it was due to the thick foam grip around it. It was supposed to be just in case the glass was jarred, a sort of buffer, but Linnea worried anyway. She stepped over to the attendant and let the woman take her suitcase, leaving her hand free to wave to the sendoff party.

"Oh, have fun sweets," DS said, patting Eriol's shoulder as she handed the suitcase she had over as well. "Make sure you call when you get there. And eat properly. And if you need anything, anytime, let me know. And wear plenty of sunblock. And-"

"It's fine, Mom," Eriol laughed. If he let her go on much longer she would probably end up on the plane.

"Eriol-niisan, send us postcards, okay?"

"Take pictures!"

"Remember, you said you'd bring back something!"

"Don't let Eri-niisan boss you around, Lin-chan, Ren-chan!"

Have funfunfunfunfun!

Somehow Eriol managed to get through the throng of the farewell committee and the well-wishes and over to the airline counter, where he flashed his passes. There were four- one for him, one for Linnea, one for Viviana, and one for the Tala next to them who would serve as a sort of chaperone. Once those were approved, he gave one last wave and headed onto the plane.

Viviana wasn't sure what was happening, but it was exciting. Rubbing Outcry's belly with one hand, she waved her other in an imitation of what everyone else was doing. Already this was turning out to be fun.

"Baaaa!"

Twitching slightly because of her sudden closeness Faiga stared at Haze. Oh damn, he knew her, didn't he ?

"I truly hope so. I'll make sure everything is alright though."

Lysium cocked her head to one side and grinned at the lady. This meant Elias and Habi were here as well. Finally her eyes catched him and she waved a bit.

Quickly they made their way inside the plane.

The onboard attendant helps to seat passengers, and, satisfied to see that most of the booked seats are filled, sends word to the captain of the flight's okayed departure.

She then emerges and goes through the motions explaining emergency procedures, while a man narrates with a lack of enthusiasm.

Lobby

Fedee Event Roleplay

{There were many people checking out the hotel and among them was a young Italian woman in a blue top and bright orange skirt. Her outfit certainly was odd. If it weren't for the fact that it was frowned upon to be barefoot in the hotel lobby she would have been, instead she was stuck wearing boots with charms on them that jingled with every step. "That Pip guy sure was generous..." She hadn't even checked out her room her. The bell boy had taken her bags up for her so she could check out her surroundings to keep herself from getting lost--forget that. Getting lost was half the fun!

"Although I'm sorry to whoever I'm sharing that room with, they probably won't see me much." Most people would think she was talking to herself, however upon closer examination one would probably see tiny little ferret curled up in a pouch hanging on her hip. Crescentia hated secluding herself to one place for any length of time longer than necessary.

Faiga was overwhelmed. Why did he have to sign up for this strange trip ? It wasn't even sure that Lys belonged to this kind of babies everyone was talking about. And the cat...was a cat, probably. As if he had heard the man's thoughts Shiver eyes Faiga cautiously. The black daemon was seated on his shoulder and watched Lysium, who had fallen asleep snuggled up to her father's chest.

The feather in the man's blonde hair moved slightly as he stopped right next to a beautiful young woman. If he had recognised this fact at once, he probably wouldn't have stayed close to her, but because of his mental state Faiga didn't seem to care. As he heard her voice though he turned to look at the sound's source and blushed. "...room ? share ?...what ?"

"She said she feels sorry for the people she will be sharing a room with, since they won't be seeing her much." The six feet tall half-elf isn't wearing his usual cloak. Instead he is wearing a green dress shirt and black slacks. He walks into the lobby and stops near the two adults.

Following him is a tiny lady and the three feet long dragon. A little over two feet tall and wearing a green dress, Cho looks like a large porcelain doll because of her size and complection. Hoshiryuu is blue and white with a unicorn horn on his forehead.

Crescentia didn't seem surprised that someone had overheard her speaking in the middle of the lobby, but she did look a little confused about the blush and the stammer. What was that man's problem? That cat and the little girl were absolutely adorable, however, so her undivided attention was won over. She gasped and clasped her hands beneath her chin, bending dow just enough to be level with the girl in Faiga's arms."Aww! How ado--" The woman blinked and looked up to see who had summarized her sentence. Geeze! That guy was tall! Tia frowned and put her hands on her hips, standing up straight and turning to face the elf.

"Were you eavesdropping on my conversation? That was a very private conversation, sir." Crescentia stated with a pout, careful not to crush the pouch her ferret was hiding in. The gypsy glanced down at the little girl and dragon following the elf, her disapprovement melting into adoration at how pretty the little girl was. "Pip was tellin' the truth when he said I would be around a bunch of cute children during this trip."

"Uh..." Faiga blinked as he listened to the stranger's explaination and nodded slightly. "Sorry, I'm not used to so many people." He tried to smile friendly, but it ended up looking a bit fake.

It was that moment in which Lysium awake with a small yawn, rubbed her eyes and stared right into the lady's face. Shiva, whossat ? The baby asked her daemon, who purred slightly to calm her. Person of dad and other person of dad. Can we play with them ? Lysium shook her head slightly.

"Pip ? Oh yeah, the guy who organized this, right ? Nice to meet you, I'm Faiga and this is Lysium." He was nudged by the cat right away. "That one on my shoulder is Shiver." The blonde smiled at the tiny lady and the dragon and nodded slightly.

The half elf raises an eyebrow and smiles. "This is a lobby, and elves have good hearing."

Child? Why do people always assume she is a child. Both eyebrows come down to glare at the woman who had just called her a child. Focusing she telepathically sends the idea that she is an adult, not a child, with a distinctively offended tone. Cho totally missed the fact that she had been lumped in with the children having animal companions.

Hoshiryuu waited and watched. This could prove highly amusing. Being called a child is one of Cho's pet peeves. Normally she would be a little edgy around most humans but not after that.

Whoopsy !

Playdate with Quixana ( ShortGreen ) at the Event

{
"Stay right there, darling," Cressida gently admonished Quixana. In his eagerness to be useful and desire to show off his new walking skills, he had gotten his fingers tangled in one of the suitcases and she had to gently pry him out before sending him to sit on the carpet. Courage padded over and sat, princess-like, beside him. She cocked her head to one side and made a questioning noise. Cressida laughed. "Yes. That means you, too, gorgeous."

Quixana absently picked at the hem of his robe while watching Cressida wrestle the multiple suitcases into the room. He knew that one of them was his... The other two and a half were his mother's. He didn't know why she needed so many but figured it was so she could stay as pretty as she always was. Sighing, he flopped down on the carpet, falling onto his stomach and inspecting the light green fibers. "Mama?" he asked.

"Just a moment, darling." With a heave, Cressida finished hauling the last suitcase into the bedroom. Then she frowned. "Wait. Where's your daddy?"

Quixana shrugged. "Daddy?" He rolled onto his back and tilted his head back to look at his mother, a faint pout on his mouth. "No here."

"I've noticed. There must be some mistake. Surely..." Cressida bent to tug Quixana upright and took his hand. "Let's go look." She lead him into the main room, looking around. "Hello?" she called.

"This has to be our room, Lys. Definately." Faiga moved through the floors and kept looking for his room. The flight had been astonishing to him, but Lysium actually didn't seem to take it so well. Her tiny hands were clutched to his chest and she peered at the small cat, who walking close to the man's feet.

As the girl heard the hello though she perked up and pointed at Cressida with a smirk. Faiga was stunned. Oh yeah, wasn't it about sharing rooms and so on ? "Um....hey ?"

It seemed like he wasn't expected, but at least she had a small child too. An adorable boy and a...lion ?

Shiver's tail went up immediately as he spotted the other daemon.

"Oh!" The brunette startled visibly, face blanking for an instant. Then a smile appeared, bright as sunshine and she moved forward, little boy in tow. "Hello. My name is Cressida and this is Quixana and Courage." She crouched, lady-like, and gathered the child in her arms before presenting him.

Quixana cheerfully waved and beamed; his smile was a neat echo of his mother's. "'Loooo," he giggled.

"Um..." Cressida's eyebrows came together for a moment, violet eyes worried. Whatever bothered her, however, was clearly dismissed for a moment, rated secondary to the inspection of a new child. The expression passed as the woman stepped closer and made a soft, happy noise under her breath. "Oh, she's lovely." A quick glance at the cat at Faiga's feet confirmed it. "And her daemon. They're both -precious-. Quixana say hello."

Reaching out, Quixana barely touched his fingertips to Lysium's wrist. Then he pulled back and beamed. "'Loooo," he repeated. "Baby."

Faiga was startled, but still he decided to make a step towards the woman and greet her properly. Unfortunately he almost stepped on Shiver, who was of course very much annoyed by this and decided to climb the man's leg.

A pain distorted face answered the greeting. "My name's Faiga and this is Lysium. And Shiver of course. Thanks. Do we share a room ?" The blonde seemed quite relieved as the cat nestled up to Lysium and watched the lion with interest.

Lysium seemed to watch the woman's lips. It would have been nice to touch her hair, but she was too far away. And there was somebody else close as well. The small girl wrinkled her nose at the touch, but especially at the word baby. She knew what that meant. "Pfpfpfffff...."

"It looks like." Cressida stepped closer and Quixana retracted his hand only to smile benevolently at Lysium. She was now in reaching distance with Courage sitting politely at her feet. There seemed to be something bothering the woman again, though. Her full mouth pursed. "Please don't take this the wrong way," she began, "but I have to admit I'm a bit thrown by all this. I hadn't expected you at all!"

Lysium didn't care to look at the other ones daemon, but still eyes him suspiciously. Seemed nice though. A slightly approving nod followed her procedure.

Faiga didn't notice the bothering aspects and just looked around. "Pretty, pretty...oh, I'm just as thrown as you are. Didn't know who would share a room with me beforehand." He smiled and watched Shiver who decided to examine Courage closer.

"Hey, you wanna play ?"

Courage glanced up at Quixana as if seeking confirmation. When the boy nodded, the lioness gave a feline smile and ducked her head in a polite bow. Then she lowered her front end to rest her chin on her paws, inviting Shiver to play. Meanwhile, her Forgotten gently patted his mother on the shoulder before pointing downwards. "Please?" he lisped.

"Of course, darling." Another crouch lowered the boy to the floor and he promptly teetered over to stand at Faiga's feet. A look of intense concentration appeared on his face, brown eyes nearly crossed. Then, painstakingly, he offered Lysium a wobbly bow.

Immediately, Cressida was distracted from her next thought and she clapped, laughing. "Clever little thing," she announced. "Aren't you just the best sort of gentleman, Quixana?"

Shiver was happy. Finally there was somebody who liked to play with him. With a soft meow he attacked Courage playfully.

Faiga watched the scene between mother and son with a slight smile. They seemed so close, he wasn't able to believe that he was just adopted as Lysium seemed to be. It was an adorable moment as Quixana bowed. He seemed to be a bit older than Lys too.

"He's more polite than I'll ever be." Faiga grinned and watched Lysium's behaviour. She leaned forward a bit and looked at the boy. Her lips were pressed against each other for a single moment in time, but then they parted into a short smile and a nod. "Xanananana..." Very much appreciated.

Cressida laughed. "Just like banana, sweetheart," she answered, addressing Lysium as if she were capable of both understanding and answering.

Xana looked up at his mother and held out his hand. "Nana?" he queried, brown eyes expectant.

"Um, no. Mommy doesn't have any bananas at the moment. We'll get you some."

Courage landed heavily on her side, interrupting conversation, as she allowed Shiver to push her around a bit. She was clearly aware of the weight and strength difference and determined not to let the smaller daemon get hurt. She rumbled a purr and stretched out a paw in a lazy attempt at a swat. Quixana laughed and applauded both demons.

"By the way..." Cressida paused, chin ducking almost as if guilty. "I do want to apologize about my surprise. See, I -was- expecting to share the room. Just not with a strange man." She held out her left hand; a sparkling ring sat on her finger, silver and gold woven delicately around an amethyst. "I'm engaged."

Quixana looked up and beamed. "Daddy," he clarified for Faiga.

Lysium didn't know much about banana's and so she just watched the woman's mouth and tried to figure out if it was something nice. The other one known as Xana seemed to know it though. The baby pursed her lips.

Shiver purred and enjoyed the game quite a lot as he tried to block the swat with one of his paws. Rolling around on the floor he became quite dusty. Dirty Shiva. As he heard the voice in his head the cat stopped and looked at himself. Oh...

Faiga laughed slightly at the scene and then turned his attention back to Cressida. His eyes were catched by the ring and as Quixana's words trickled into his mind he blushed hardly. "Oh oh oh ! I didn't know that it was like that. Definately not !" What did she mean by strange anyway ? "So where is he ? Perhaps we can switch...rooms ?"

Cressida's violet eyes lit with relief and her smile had enough power behind it to run Times Square for a month. "Really? You wouldn't mind? It's not that I don't like you. That is, you seem really nice and your daughter is precious beyond words and normally I wouldn't mind rooming with you at all... Except Leon's on this trip and he might not approve."

Her attempt at explanation was ignored by her son as Quixana waved again to Lysium before padding over to where the two cats played. "C'rage," he muttered. Then he tilted his head at the black cat. "Pretty kitty," he added. He didn't offer to touch the other daemon but the look on his face was clear respect and interest. Flopping down, he landed on Courage's exposed stomach. The little lioness huffed, breath going out at the sudden weight, and then rolled beneath him until she could deliver a rough lick with her tongue to his dusty brown hair. He patted her nose and looked up at Lysium again. "C'rage," he explained. "Mine."

Faiga blushed at the intensive smile and just nodded. He wasn't used to women at all, so it still scared him out a bit. "We don't mind at all, it's not like I want to part a family or something."

Lysium had started to wiggle and mumble so he sat her down on the floor beside Quixana and the daemons. The girl watched the other Forgotten with interest and squeaked slightly as he landed on top of Courage.
Shiver purred slightly and rubbed his head against her hand. Not a kitty... He told her, but Lysium didn't say a word at first.
"Shiva." A soft smile was conjured onto her lips as she pointed at the smaller daemon. "Balack...je..jello..." First she pointed at the cat and then at the lion.

"J-Jello?" Quixana's nose wrinkled up as he thought about her words. Then he pointed at Shiver. "Black Jello? Eat 'im?" That made no sense. Jello was for eating but Shiver wasn't Jello!

It appeared that Cressida was only barely restraining herself from hugging Faiga in gratitude. The way she nearly danced from side to side showed the strain. "Oh, thank you so much," she sighed. "You're wonderful. You'll have to meet Leon and Annie. Annie needs more little girls to play with and your Lysium is quite the little lady there."

Shiver's eyes grew wide as he stared at his Forgotten. Eat ME ? The little kitty looked a bit scared and so his fur started to move up. Lysium shook her head though and crossed her tiny arms in front of her chest. That guy didn't really get that she was talking about a colour, did he ? The little girl herself wasn't informed about jello at all and so she just tried to show it to him. Talking wasn't as easy as it seemed to the taller ones. One tiny hand started to point at Shiver's eyes and other small yellow details on her clothes. "Balack and...yell-ow."

Faiga smiled as he recognised the woman's joy. It was always nice to see happy people and finally he didn't feel like a complete idiot. The circumstance that he had to leave this room was almost a sad one. "Indeed she is. Lys hates dirt of all kinds, but sadly we're living on a farm. Where's your husband though ?" He shrugged.

"... I have no clue." Cressida's smile hardly dimmed, though. "We'll find each other sooner or later. We always do."

"Oh!" Quixana nodded wisely. Now he understood. "Yellow," he repeated. "Pretty." Then he twisted to point at Courage's fur. "Yellow."

Christmas

...

{Candles were enlighting the room silently. The ringing of a small bell interrupted this silence as Shiver shased the small thing made out of metal. Feathers of all colours were everywhere and the little hut appeared astonishingly cosy. Faiga smiled as he stopped feeding Lysium with warm milk and sat down on the old couch. The baby appeared to be satisfied but as usually her features didn't soften before the cat was at her side.

Shiver purred slightly and rolled himself up beside the man and the small girl. He had tried to chase the flickering flames before, but Faiga had forbidden him to do so.

Lysium yawned. The days had been the same lately. In the morning they went into the stables and look at the colourful big birds, which made all kinds of familiar noises. The world outside was cold and she hadn't met any new people lately. It didn't matter much because Faiga carried her and sometimes she just sat somewhere and watched. Sometimes she sat on the window sill and Shiver tried to catch the white stuff which was blown against the window.

Today seemed to be a special day though because there were a lot of candles and everything smiled like trees. At least Faiga had said it smelled like trees.

Although Faiga didn't believe in Christmas himself he had decorated the house nicely and bought some presents. He wouldn't tell Lysium stories about Santa, but since his tribe didn't have such kind of celebrations he didn't want his daughter to feel left behind. Even though she was still a baby...

"It's Christmas today, Lys." Four eyes turned towards the man with excitement. Faiga petted the daemon's head. Shiver didn't mind the gesture but Lysium pouted for a moment. She didn't like Shiver to be touched.

"People give each other presents on Christmas." Faiga continued and got up to get three small packages out of a cupboard. Lysium watched his movements calmly, while Shiver's eyes started to glow.

Loook... The daemon told his Forgotten, who just leaned against the couch's back and waited.

Placing the presents gently in front of his daughter and her companion the father smile. "Ok, I hope you like them."

Can I do one ? Please please please! Shiver moved in circles around one of the presents and looked at the pretty paper with excitement.

'Kay... The girl nodded and reached for one of the smaller presents.

Walking

...

{"Look, Lysium, doesn't that suit you much better?" Faiga exclaimed just as happy father's were able to ask and clasped his hands. The small girl looked down and frowned. There were quite a few more colours. She wasn't used to this and at first she felt like ripping them off.

That looks soooo goood. The daemon exclaimed and moved in circles around his Forgotten. Indeed there was gold now, just like her eyes and his eyes and after all it was the best eye-colour. There was still lots of black, but also a little bit red.

The girl still didn't say anything but moved her hands across the fabric before turning her attention back to Faiga who seemed to wait for a reaction. She didn't like it much, but he seemed so happy and it didn't scratch her skin as some other things he had given her had.

"If you don't like it, we can change it." The man said a bit disappointed, but Lysium shook her head. If Shiver was alright with it, she would be as well. And after all there was gold and black. Red like Faiga's markings was alright too. A faint smile crossed her lips. "S'ok."

Happily Faiga picker her up and swirled her around before placing her back on her feet. She had learnt to walk throughout the last weeks and as some kind of celebration he had thought of something new to wear. The old clothes were getting much too small anyway.

"Let's do a picture, alright?" Hearing about pictures Shiver happily rubbed himself against Lysium's leg and looked at the camera. Calm and shy as usual the Forgotten turned her attention to the strange machine they didn't use as often. It was ugly.

Then Faiga took her toddler picture.

Big Birds and a Meeting

Playdate with Guinevere ( Eight )

{
"Come back here ! Come on, Rise, cooome back here..."

It probably had been quite a scene if anyone besides Faiga and his daughter had been around. A big yellow bird was running around on a small field outside Barton Town and dashed through the muddy grounds in panic. In fact his disturbance could even be named. Shiver, a fellow daemon, clinged to the bird's back with wide eyes and brizzled fur.

Lysium didn't feel well at all. First they had strolled along the little path for wanderers, but then Shiver had been irritated by one of the chocobo's feathers and had dug his claws into the animal.

She felt sick and so she used her small toddler legs to try and follow the racing bird. It was very very hard to do and so she dropped to her knees.

Faiga stopped, but the bird raced on.

"STOP THAT BIRD !" He called out, not sure if anybody was near to perceive his cry.

What a peaceful day in Barton! Well...for now at least. Crescentia and Guin had yet to encounter the rogue chocobo running around in the field with a poor cat stuck on its back. They were still in the apartment getting ready for a picnic. "And we'll have some cookies...and chips...milk, with ice around it so it stays cold, sandwiches. There! All set! Ready to go, Guinnie?" The gypsy turned to the little redheaded girl sitting on the counter beside her watching her put everything into a big picnic basket.

"Uh huh!" Guinevere smiled and held up her arms to be picked up so they could go. Crescentia obliged and put the girl on the floor, grabbing a light blanket for them to sit on and walking out.

It only took them a few minutes to reach the field they were going to be eating in. How lovely! It was so quiet here!

And then a big yellow bird with a cat on its back ran by. Crescentia blinked. "...Did a big yellow bird just...?"

"Yup." Guin giggled. They both looked over at a man yelling to stop the bird, looking at each other after.

"...Cookies attract other birds...do you mind sacrificing one of the cookies to see if it stops that bird?" Crescentia was already reaching into the basket before Guin answered, taking out one of the cookies. Hopefully whoever owned the bird wouldn't mind her giving it a cookie despite how unhealthy they were for animals. "Um...mister bird! Would you like a cookie?" She called out, waving it in the air.

Shiver couldn't make out much. Everything was just a blur of yellow and he felt wimpy and sick as suddenly an unknown voice caused the chocobo to stop. Shiver was thrown off the bird's back and almost landed on Guin. As lucky as cats are his paws touched the ground first, but then he dropped to the side.

Faiga moved to pick up the small toddler girl who looked even paler as usual and quickly made it towards the scene. "I'm so sorry that's my one, I mean..all of them ! And...THANK YOU !" Faiga stuttered as he watched the big yellow bird devour the cookie with delight. The animal seemed to calm down slowly.

Lys..so much ouch... The cat sniffed and told the toddler mentally. His tail twitched slightly.

Guin gasped and ran out of the way of the 'flying' cat, watching it land on the ground and then promptly fall over like a statue. Aww..poor thing! The little girl stepped over and gingerly pet at the kitty. "You okay?" She asked it, still petting its side.

"It's okay! Um...you're welcome!" Crescentia watched the bird eat the cookie right out of her hand, patting its head with a smile. "I've never seen a bird like this before!" She gasped when she saw the pale little girl in the man's arms, putting the closed basket down by Guin. "Is she alright? She looks so pale!" Although compared to the gypsy everyone in the area was pretty pale too.

Shiver meowed slightly. Of course he was alright, he was the killer cat...he just needed Lysium nearby to sooth him. Blinking slightly he enjoyed being petted.

"It's a chocobo. I'm owning a farm not far from here where we breed them. They're awesome for transport if they aren't bitten my some evil kitty." Lysium pouted slightly and golden eyes narrowed as Crescentia came closer. "She's always quite pale in comparison..." A pair of little arms stretched out towards the daemon and made grabby hands.

"Mine..." Lysium mumbled and Faiga rolled his eyes making the girl sit down beside Shiver. Lysium put one hand on the cat's belly and looked at Guin.

"Well, she's very obsessed with the cat..."

Well at least the cat wasn't getting angry over her petting him. He was a very soft kitty!

"A chocobo? I see. It's the biggest bird I've ever seen!" Crescentia glanced back at the chocobo. She could understand why they were useful for transport! They were big and fast! "So that's what was wrong with it? Poor thing." Watching the man put the little girl by her cat and Guin, she chuckled when he stated she was obsessed with the cat. "Well her cat was just through a terrible ordeal!"

She was forgetting something...oh! Right! Introductions! She wasn't often social like this since all people ever wanted from a gypsy was their fortune told or to see them dance. "Oops! Dove sono i miei modi! I'm Crescentia and this," She gestured down to Guinevere who waved up at Faiga. "Is my daughter Guinevere." It almost felt odd to be introducing Guin as her daughter. Being a mother was also something she was new at.

"Hi~!" Guin smiled and held her hand out for Lysium the same way she saw Crescentia do it.

Faiga was quite proud that somebody was interested in his job and smiled. "If you want you can come over and I'll let you ride on a less wild one. He was scared by Shiver's claws.."

Blushing slightly as he recognised that he had forgotten about introducing as well he continued. "Shiver is the cat and my little girl is called Lysium. I am Faiga." Shaking her hand slightly he watched the toddler's introduction.

Shiver loved the attention whereas Lysium just looked at Guin suspiciously. "My...Shiva." Pointing at the black cat she examined the girl's clothes.

Crescentia smiled. "I'd love to!" Although she had no idea how to ride one. She could ride a horse! Maybe it was just like that! But what about their wings?

The gypsy giggled when the man blushed. "I've never seen a man blush before." ...Says the gypsy incapable of lying. Hopefully he didn't get offended and take back his offer to let her ride a chocobo. "Lysium? That's a nice name." She waved a few fingers down at Lysium and Shiver, her smile growing.

Guinevere blinked. Yes...that was her Shiver. "'S'pretty and soft!" She grinned, scritching behind the cat's ears. She had no idea that Lysium was suspicious of her something something wrong...or something. She sat back on her bottom and bumped into the picnic basket in the process, reminding herself why she and her mother were out here. "Momma?" She looked up, tugging at the woman's pantleg. If it hadn't been for the tugging Crescentia might not have realized she was being called to! She still wasn't used to being called 'Momma.'

"Hm? Oh yes! Would you like to join us? We actually came out here to have a bit of a picnic!" But they were sidetracked by rogue chocobos.

"Wonderful !" He smiled slightly and then faded into an ever deeper shade of red. Faiga totally wasn't used to people at all but women were always even more complicated. Oh damn, he couldn't do anything about blushing. So he tried to ignore the comment and nervously fiddled with his fingers.

"It actually wasn't my invention...tshe had them already when I found her.." Faiga shrugged.

Shiver started to purr. He knew that Lysium wouldn't like this, but he did it on purpose to tease her a bit. What kind of problem did she have ?

"Yeah, pretty." Lysium commented and looked around. "Yours ?" She didn't like Guin's clothes, but she didn't seem to have a daemon with her. That was strange, everyone she had met had a somebody for Shiver to play with.

"Oh a picnic sounds awesome, what do you think, Lys ?" The girl blinked and clapped her hands elegantly to show her agreement. "We'd love to !"

What was this? Some kind of test to see if Guin wanted Shiver? Guin blinked. "...No...?" She had no idea Lysium was asking where hers was. She'd been smiling before, but when Lysium asked her that question her smile had faded and been replaced by confusion but now her smile was back now that she heard Shiver purring.

Faiga was lucky Crescentia wasn't greeting him the way she greeted people she knew well if he thought women were complicated! If just being interested in Chocobos made him blush then a kiss to each cheek would make his head explode.

"Then it's settled! We'll eat and then we can go to your farm." Crescentia reached down to take the blanket off the basket to lay it down on the ground. Luckily it was a big blanket so it'd fit the two adults and the children. The gypsy was so glad she'd packed a big basket even without her tarot cards to tell her she'd be meeting someone new.

She's all ok wit me.. Shiver told Lysium mentally and wiggled slightly. He was the star as usual, EVERYBODY liked him.

Lysium mistook the answer for 'No, I don't have one'. Suddenly she stopped pouting and looked down at Shiver. If Guin didn't have a daemon she could pet her one for a while. That was so sad ! What did Faiga say again when he was sad ? "Misrabble."

Faiga made the chocobo sit down peacefully and luckily the bird followed the command obediently. Sitting down beside Crescentia he nodded. "Sounds good to me. Doesn't Guin's father wait for you at home though ?"

Even if her answer was mistaken it was still the right answer. Guin didn't realize that the look on Ly's face was a look of pity for not having a daemon of her own which was why she looked confused when the girl suddenly said miserable. "Misrabble?"

If being interested in chocobos was enough to make Faiga blush then he was lucky that Crescentia didn't greet people with a kiss on each cheek until at least the second meeting!

Crescentia was in the process of taking out sandwiches for them all when Faiga asked about a father. The woman blinked, pausing for a moment in handing Faiga his sandwich. Hopefully she didn't look offended or hurt, she really was just thinking of how to answer. "...There isn't one." She answered simply, giving a little shrug. "I've never even had a serious relationship in my whole life. Don't get me wrong though! I adopted Guin." The woman unwrapped her own sandwich and ate a bite. "Although I'm sure having a boyfriend would be fun." She tapped thoughtfully at her chin. She'd never really given it thought before! Guin reached into the basket to get Lysium's and her own sandwich.

"What about you?" She asked suddenly.

As Shiver smelled the sandwiches he happily got back on his paws and looked at the girl's expectantly. Lysium instead just gave a nod to stress her point and toddled towards the basket. "Wassat ?" She asked and pointed at the sandwich Guin had in her hands. It looked like an interesting composition.

Faiga was indeed very lucky, because he literally would have freaked out. Watching the child and then looking back to Crescentia he nodded. It was an interesting fact that they both had an adopted daughter. "Oh...well, Lys is just as adopted. Let's better say, I found her and she and Shiver stayed with me until now." He loved her dearly and would never let her go again, but that wasn't something to tell a stranger, Faiga decided.

"Don't give Shiver too much of it, Lys." He told his daughter as he watched the sandwiches.

Guin shrugged. She didn't know what was in the sandwich since she wasn't the one who had made it. Even if she didn't know what it was it was still a very good sandwich nonetheless! "I'unno." And then she promptly bit into the sandwich, smiling encouragingly. It wasn't like it was poisoned or anything.

"You found her? I'm sure that would be an interesting story to hear one day!" Crescentia placed her sandwich carefully on her knee so she could dig around in the picnic basket again and take out all the food and drinks she'd packed in there. "You're very lucky I love eating and packed a lot of food." She said with a laugh, finally taking out a bandana lined with small coins that she tied into her hair to get it out of her face. Now her head jingled whenever she moved it even a little.

After she was finished playing with her hair she picked up her sandwich again and continued eating, enjoying the peaceful quiet for a little while...of course she studied her companion in the corner of her eye the entire time. "Hm...Faiga? I hope you don't mind me asking, but what are those red marks on your face?" Crescentia tentatively reached out to trace the marks with her index finger. Geeze, gypsies don't know the meaning of personal space, do they?

Shiver sniffed at the sandwiches and let Lysium know that he'd like a bit of it because of his former sufferings. The toddler girl watched Guin and then reached for another sandwich. Tearing a small piece off she offered it to the daemon who devoured it with delight. "Good." Lysium said to Guin.

"Yeah, completely by incident. She lay close to the market I usually shop at." Smiling slightly at the memory he watched Crescentia's movements. Moving one hand through his hair he mimicked her gestures. Did he look alright ?

As he was touched Faiga's eyes grew wide. Oh he SO wasn't used to other humans ! "They are tribe markings. Of my...tribe. Yeah." Recognising that this probably wasn't very helpful he nervously added some more information. "The chocobo breeders...yeah..."

Crescentia was extremely gentle when tracing the stripes, so when Faiga's eyes widened she drew back a little out of worry. Had she done something wrong? "Your tribe? Ooh! There's a whole tribe of chocobo breeders?" She clapped her hands together under her chin and seemed to glow. "I'm part of...something like a tribe as well! I'd show off my mark but...uh...that might be awkward...for you." For her? Never. Crescentia would go without a shirt if that meant she could show her family's tattoo with pride! But she was a shameless gypsy so it didn't matter.

"So are all chocobos big like that one?" Crescentia asked before taking a sip of soda.

Guin smiled, watching the exchange and munching happily on her sandwich. "Yup!" She took a big bite out of her sandwich and leaned back against Crescentia, surprising the woman just a little. She hadn't forgotten the children were there but she'd never been cuddled by a child before. Guin grabbed a cookie and held it out for Lysium...even if she wasn't done with her sandwich. They were totally old enough to be rebellious and have their dessert before they finished their lunch! Fighting the system! That's what they would do!

This was quite the crisis.

Faiga tried to stay as cool as possible, but living outside big cities with nothing but birds and sometimes older men and women from the tribe visiting probably wasn't the best training. "Yes, it's pretty ancient too. We've got generations of chocobo breeders and everyone specializes in something."

Thinking of Crescentia's former action he doubted that he'd like to actually see it. "You can tell me about it though !" Taking a chunk out of a sandwich he watched her while chewing and glanced at Lysium once in a while. "Yes, all of them, besides the younger ones of course. They also come in all kinds of colours."

Lysium accepted the cookie and then rubbed it against Shiver's fur. The cat rolled it's eyes, but it appeared like she had warned him before. Then the toddler started to crumble the cookie slowly into pieces.

"That's so interesting." Crescentia smiled. She looked a bit surprised when Faiga suggested her telling him about her family, smiling brightly as she absentmindedly pat at a spot on her chest where her tattoo probably was. Right above her right breast, to be specific.

Where to start? Oh! Duh! The obvious. "Well it's basically a giant family of gypsies!" Her smile grew. "Normally we travel in caravans...or groups, you know? Safety and strength in numbers. That and we make more money since all of us have a forte in something." She shrugged, the coins on her bandana jingling from the motion. Crescentia winked a moment later. "However I have more than one trick I can do, whereas most others in my family have one. I do fortune telling, dancing and a real disappearing act. Like...I vanish here and appear behind that tree." She pointed at the tree in question, finishing her sandwich and eating a couple chips. It was obvious in the way the tone of her voice was beginning to go up a couple notes that she really enjoyed this topic. If she didn't know it'd look weird Crescentia would probably be bouncing up and down where she was sitting, but she actually knew better than to make herself seem like a child. She was twenty! Grown women didn't behave that way.

"All kinds of colors? Oooh! Like purple and stuff?" She doesn't have ADD. I swear.

Guin gave a tiny little gasp when Lysium rubbed the cookie on Shiver and then crumbled it up. Did she not want the cookie? Or was she rebelling too? She'd have to think on this one, taking a big bite out of her sandwich and watching the cookie pieces fall. "Silly." She giggled, petting Shiver with one hand and holding her sandwich in the other. Now she didn't know if she could give the other girl another cookie or not! What if she crumbled up that one too?

Faiga listened friendly while he chewed on his sandwich once in a while. Nodding as she continued to speak he smiled as she stopped. "Sounds just like a tribe, just...a little bit different." The young man sipped a bit of soda and looked at the tree a bit further away. "Do you think you could do sone of your tricks for me ? Disappearing or fortune telling ?" Looking towards Lysium and frowning slightly he added. "Purple is usually not that common, but I guess it's possible somehow.

Lysium looked up at Guin and shook her head. Shiver started to make circles around the other girl and watched Lysium do something he knew pretty well. She gathered the cooky crumbles and looked for a strand of hair where one was loose. Picking it out without a sound she started to make small holes into the crumbles.

"Hm..I guess it could be considered a tribe." She also looked at the tree, eating a couple more chips while she listened to Faiga's request. Crescentia paused, patting herself from chest to even inside her shoes in search of something. "Oh dear...uh...well I didn't think I'd see anybody here so I didn't bring my tarot cards. That's my favorite method." Again she tapped at her chin with a look of deep thought.

Guin had looked away from Lyisum to stare at Crescentia after hearing the exchange...and then she promptly scooted away from the woman to sit closer to her new friend. She was quite curious about what she was doing with the hair and the crumbs, watching the cat circle her. Now she was just confused!

Suddenly Crescentia disappeared in a cloud of purple-ish red smoke, obviously deciding it'd be easier to show off her magic than to go get tarot cards or take the time to find something to do arithmancy on. She didn't have tea leaves or anything, and she didn't know how Faiga would react if she suddenly took his hand to read his palm. She didn't reappear..for now.

"Momma's silly." Guin giggled.

Faiga followed her look towards the tree and then turned back to her. "I guess tarot cards are pretty interesting but also may be very creepy."

Indeed it was even more creepy as Crescentia vanished. Eyes growing wide he looked around but couldn't make out the woman anymore. Guin didn't seem to be scared though so Faiga was quite sure that she would reappear soon. "Wow..." He was obviously amazed.

Lysium was just about to finish the small necklace she had created out of hair and cookie crumbles as Crescentia vanished. Feeling disturbed in her concentration she snorted. "Silly."

Woooah she is gone, Lys ! The daemon seemed very much attracted by this feature and his eyes were glowing with interest. Lysium didn't seem to care and smiled slightly at her finished piece of jewelry. Carefully she handed it to Guin.

Guin watched with amazement as Lysium made a necklace out of the hair and cookie crumbs. Wow! She didn't seem to be amazed by the disappearance...but she also did live with the gypsy so she'd probably seen it often. "Cooool~" She dropped her sandwich on her lap and took the necklace, being very cautious as she put it over her head to hopefully get it around her neck. Wow! This was amazing!

Crescentia really could've been anywhere. Behind the tree, back at her apartment, in the tree or...

Right beside Faiga on the opposite side she'd been sitting.

The woman held back a giggle as she opened her hand and blew glitter off her palm to fly by the man's face and get his attention. Then she chuckled. "Boo." She figured it be funnier if she only switched sides.

Of course Lysium KNEW that it was cool but she just smiled gently and nodded. Yeah, it was for her and hopefully she knew that it was indeed a very good necklace. "Look good."

Shiver's hair brizzled as Crescentia reappeared and the little daemon looked at her in awe. Woow...

Faiga didn't notice her at first but continued looking around. Slightly hesitating he suddenly recognised a chuckle combined with glitter and turned around. "WOW ! Now that's a trick, can you teach it to me ?" For a moment he even forgot about his nervousness around women and was just amazed by the funny game. Men always stay boys...

"Yay!" Guin clapped, giggling brightly. But now what would she give Lysium? She couldn't make jewelry out of hair and cookie crumbs!

Crescentia smiled and sat down properly, reaching across in front of Faiga to get her unfinished drink. "Garçons sont si mignons." She took a big sip from her drink, thinking about her answer for Faiga's question without sounding like one of those rude magicians who just don't want there to be a threat to their business. An idea seemed to finally come to her after a little while, reaching out to brush hair out of the man's face and leaning in with half lidded eyes and a lazy smirk. "It's not like learning to kiss, I was born with this ability." Her expression did eventually change to a sweet smile and not the lazy look she'd given just to see his reaction. "Although I've been told I'm a natural at that as well!"

Guin blinked and stared at the two adults now that Crescentia was leaning in so close to Faiga's face. Huh? What was going on? The little girl turned to Lysium with a very confused look on her face.

Lysium watched Guin and didn't know what to do. She liked it around here though and it was nice when her gifts were appreciated. Shiver seemed to be pretty content, but as Crescentia moved closer towards Faiga he started to push his head against Lysium's side to make her aware that something was going on.

Lyyyyss, loook !

Lysium was pretty aware that Shiver was usually excited about litteraly everything. As she recognised Guin's confused look though she dared to take a peak. After all she didn't want to be left out.

Faiga blinked as he listened to her words and didn't understand them. For a while he just watched Crescentia's movements and glanced at the peacefully playing kids once in a while. They seemed to get along with each other.

As she touched him though firework was going on inside of him. He didn't even really KNOW that woman...oh god ! If he had been blushing before he became pale now and stared at her in disbelief. Did she really want to...kiss him ? It wasn't like he had never kissed somebody, of course he had when being a teenager and the tribe had a festival and...

Woah...he didn't even that somebody was able to learn it ! Were there special courses for kissing ? To his own surprise he didn't draw back but just looked at her. She was beautiful.

Lysium snorted and huffed. "Silly."

Guin really did love the necklace! She would wear it as often as she could as long as it didn't get ruined! Hopefully it wouldn't. Crescentia probably wasn't the surprising one in this situation...but Guin was still confused. Why were their faces so close? It was like that mommy and daddy she'd seen kissing on tv.

...Waaaaaaait a second. Crescentia and Faiga were a mommy and a daddy...although he wasn't her daddy and she wasn't Lysium's mommy so that must not count.

Crescentia giggled softly at the look on Faiga's face, petting his cheek for a moment with the back of her hand. She too just sat there, smiling softly. How sweet, most men would probably take advantage of a woman sitting so close to them like this. The gypsy brushed some hair back behind her ear with her free hand, rubbing her nose against his in an eskimo kiss when Lysium suddenly snorted and spoke.

Oh my! She'd almost forgotten! "Yes, adults are very silly sometimes." She grinned and hugged the man. "You just earned yourself so many respect points." She murmured, letting him go to put away any empty chip bags or soda cans and other trash.

"Now let's go to your farm!" Guin smiled and nodded in agreement with her mother, eating one more cookie before the bag was put into the basket with the other things. "You've got me all excited now!"

Lysium wondered why Guin didn't say anything, but probably they wanted to steal her daddy. That wasn't nice...

Faiga smiled dumbly as he was petted and didn't even think of taking advantage. He was pretty much in shock and so you could have kicked him and he wouldn't have moved.

As she rubbed her nose against his the man was about to close his eyes and kiss her as he was hugged instead. Great...hopefully she hadn't noticed anything. Women were somehow very mysterious to him. Hopefully Lysium would help him later on to understand them, but as he had got to know her she'd probably be a very difficult teenager.

Respect points ? Scratching his head he nodded slightly and moved to his feet. Phew...

"If you want we can ride on the Chocobo. It's a bit of a way from here." Pointing at the calm bird he smiled and picked up Lysium, nudging her cheek with his nose.

It's sooo boring...why doesn't she have a friend ? Shiver announced and jumped onto the bird's back. This time more carefully.

Lysium waved at Guin as she suddenly realized that she wasn't going to say goodbye. There had never been people at their home...

"Feel free to take a seat."

Crescentia would be glad to help him figure out women if she knew about this desire to understand them! She glanced back over her shoulder to check on the children, smiling and waving a few fingers to Guin. Guin was still staring at her, a smile breaking through her confusion as she waved back and pointed at the necklace. "From Lys'um!" Guin said proudly, still pointing at it. Crescentia blinked and bent over to get a better look at the necklace, gasping when she realized it was just made out of cookie crumbs and hair!

"That's so cool!" She smiled at Lysium and stood back up, turning back to Faiga with a look of surprise. This time the surprise was for the offer to ride the Chocobo standing and waiting already. She looked at the big yellow bird for a moment and then back at Faiga with an almost worried look on her face. "Can it hold all our weight?" But Faiga was already climbing on with Lysium and Shiver and giving her permission to climb on. What a time to be self-conscious about her weight.

The gypsy picked up Guin and the basket, walking up to the Chocobo and pausing there. Would it really be okay? She stood there, cautious, for a few moments before she finally climbed onto the bird the same way she saw Faiga to it. She sat Guin between her legs with the basket, wrapping her arms around Faiga from behind him. "Lessgo!" Guin cheered, clapping her hands gleefully. Crescentia nodded in agreement, putting her head on Faiga's shoulder.

Although Lysium wasn't quite able to figure out what 'cool' really meant, she had understood by now that it was something good and probably desirable. She didn't respond though, but Shiver grinned twice for her as he heard the words. He knew that Lys was sooo good with such things !

"Of course, it's much stronger than it looks." Faiga smiled and made sure that everyone was seated safely. It was a nice feeling and so he petted the chocobo slightly. "Huath !" He shouted out and the big bird straightened slowly. "Hold on to something." Faiga mumbled and then the bird started to gain speed.

Indeed he was incredibly fast and the man was able to guide him towards the ranch as he had promised. As they drew closer a small hut could be seen which lay close to some stables. Some chocobos were roaming around outside, but they were seperated from a small pond and the buildings by a fence.

"If you say so, Faiga..." The gypsy murmured, blinking and watching the chocobo's head lift. Oh dear...hold onto something? Faiga wouldn't just say that to be funny, right? He obviously meant it. Pah! Why was Crescentia so worried? She was a proud gypsy! Fearless! Witty! Graceful! Thinking OHGODTHISISFAST and clinging tightly to the man in front of her.

She and Guinevere watched everything go by them faster than any horse Crescentia had ever ridden, the gypsy kept her head propped up on Faiga's shoulder. When the ranch came into sight a big grin spread across the woman's face, leaning in close to Faiga's face like she had before and giggling. "Wasn't expecting it to be that fast. I was hoping I could keep holding on to you a bit longer!" She teased, leaning back a little when Guin started complaining that her mother's chest was invading the personal space of her head. Oops.

Ball Pits Are Dangerous

Playdate with Quixana ( ShortGreen )

{"Mama? Where're they?" Quixana craned his neck as he tried to see if their invited company had appeared at the doors of PlaySpace yet. It was hard to see far enough and he seemed loathe to abandon his seat on the spring-mounted horse he was perched on in order to see better. Courage huffed in response to both his question and his reluctance and took it upon herself to pace another foot closer to the door. Quixana wrinkled his nose. "Courage, back. Please."

Cressida motioned towards the lioness cub as well, laughing softly. "Yes, Courage," she echoed. "Please come back. It was hard enough to get permission for you to come in here as it was. They seem to think that you're a really, really big housecat."

The look of dismay that Courage gave Cressida at that announcement was clear enough for her even without the benefit of the words that echoed in Quixana's head. I am not a housecat! How can they mistake me for that?

Grinning, the Forgotten rubbed her head as she came closer. "Poor Courage," he sighed. "We know. A real kitty's coming with Lysium." The little girl's name was said with great care, the strange syllables rolled around on his tongue. "Lil Shiver."

"You do remember them, don't you ?" Faiga asked the small girl who clutched onto his larger hands tightly and nodded. Yes, she remembered the vacation and there had been other people. It was the first time that Faiga had finally allowed her to walk beside him and although it was strenuous she was very proud of herself. It would have been easier though if Shiver wouldn't try to make her fall by running in front of her and slowing down once in a while.

I and Courage play. He told her for the fourth time today and Lysium just smirked.

"Hello !" Faiga called out as he spotted some familiar figures nearby and had to make sure that Lysium was able to keep up with him. Her golden eyes were fixed on Quixana as she cocked her head to one side.

"We finally found it. Looks very neat here."

"It is and, better yet, it's amazingly mischief-proof," Cressida replied with a giggle as she slipped from her chair to crouch in front of Lysium. She touched the little girl's cheek ever so lightly. "Hello, sweetheart. I'm glad you came. Quixana and Courage have been looking forward to this." Then she stood and Faiga was granted a luminous smile and her hand. "I didn't know if you would want anything so I told the waitress to come back in a bit. Not that they have an extensive selection here," she added. "I thought maybe we could get something small for the children to share."

Meanwhile, politely ignoring his mother's discussion with the other adult present, Quixana slipped from his horse and padded over to Lysium. Then he bowed; he was getting more stable with the gesture and it was very nearly fluid now. "Hello, Lysium," he said. "Hello, Shiver."

Courage gave a rumbly hello of her own and then promptly laid down as if inviting Shiver to come closer. Hello, little one! Are we going to play again?

"Sounds just right for our two or four, depends on how you count them." Faiga grinned as she giggled and watched Lysium's reaction to the woman. Golden eyes looked up towards Cressida as she lowered herself and she blinked as she was touched but didn't say a word. Luckily she was gentle enough not to disturb the girl. She was anyway distracted by Quixana and his horse.

"'lo Xana. C'rage" She waved her hand slightly and wondered why he bowed. Was that a greeting ? Imitating the gesture she grinned as she heard Shiver's words.

Jumping slightly towards Courage he nodded. I'm not soo little more. I grew. He estimated it highly unfair that Lysium had grown so much and that's why he even appeared smaller.

Faiga's attention was turned back to Cressida. "It's an amazing idea. What do you think both of them would like ? Some fingerfood ?"

"I think I saw chicken fingers on the menu. Those are relatively... Stress-free." Cressida retook her seat, legs crossing beneath her long skirt. Then she motioned for Faiga to join her. "Shiver and Courage might even like them."

You did? Courage tilted her head, then nodded. You did! We're all growing now. It's such a relief. Reaching out with a paw, she came within a hairsbreadth of Shiver's ears before rolling back onto her stomach and stretching lazily. Being little isn't very much use.

Overhearing his daemon's words, Quixana laughed. "Silly Courage," he threw over his shoulder at her before refocusing all of his attention on the dark-haired little girl in front of him. "And no bows," he corrected gently. "You're a lady. Like Mama. You cur'sey." He screwed up his face in thought, nose wrinkling. Then he brightened, relaxed, and motioned to Lysium's skirts. "Take your dress," he instructed, "and kinda hold it out and bow. Not like me, though. I'm a man, see?" He repeated his bow. "I go like this."

Faiga sat down with a smile before making sure that Lys and her cat were alright. Then he nodded. "Chicken fingers sound like a very good resolution to me." Purple eyes were trying to find a neaby waitress. Quickly he motioned her to come over.

Yeaaah and one day I'll be sooo big just as you and perhaps even bigger, you know ? Small is so... Shiver wrinkled his nose as Courage reached out for him and rolled on his back as well. Small is so not good.

Lysium raised an eyebrow at Shiver just about to say that he was indeed very very little, but she was far more intimidated by Quixana's words. "No bow ?" Pressing one finger towards her lips she pouted. Still she wanted to try the cursey stuff. Quickly she motioned as he had asked her to do and was almost about to trip over her own feet. "Why am I no man ? I wanna be one too. How become I a man ?"

Faiga stared at her in shock.

Quixana stared at her with big brown eyes, looking absolutely torn between horror and confusion. "No, no," he answered quickly. "Can't be a man." He paused as her face fell. "See, you're pretty." He made a vague motion to her hair and face and dress. "Pretty," he repeated. "Pretty like Mama."

Cressida discreetely hid her amused smile behind a hand.

"Women're good, too. Good as men. Just..." Quixana screwed up his face, searching for the words. He looked helplessly towards his mother.

"Just different," she supplied helpfully. "That's what the world's tiniest male feminist is trying to say, sweetheart."

Courage rolled her head to look in the toddlers' direction lazily as she obligingly showed her stomach to Shiver. She's right. Except girls are even better. Quixana stuck his tongue out at her but then he nodded slowly as she bared her teeth in a feline grin.

The world appeared awfully unfair to Lysium. Why did she have to do the difficult greeting ? She wanted to be a man.

Everybody appeared to be shocked though and pretty seemed to be a good word. Considering this she looked at Cressida and pondered.

"Why different ?" She asked totally not informed about feminist. But she knew what sweetheart meant and nodded at Quixana's mom. "Can we play ? "

Shiver rolled around just as Courage did, but he wasn't quite sure if he liked what she was saying. You are pretty yeaah...but NOT better. When I'll be big one day...

Lysium watched the kitty with disapproval, but remained silent.

Of course you will. Courage abruptly got to her feet again and padded over to push her nose into Shiver's tummy teasingly. So will I. Let's go play now, though, okay?

Xana held out his hand to Lysium. "Wanna play in the balls?" he asked politely. "They're all kinds of colors."

Although Lysium was still concerned with being a girl she listened to Quixana's words. Glancing at her daddy she made sure that she was allowed to go silently and then took Xana's hand. "ALL colours ?" She was amazed.

Shiver looked as if he giggled as he rolled around he was poked by Courage. Oh yeah, do you think we can chase those balls over there ? He loved chasing. In fact it was his passion.

Of course. I'll ask Quixana to throw them for us. He does that for me at home all of the time. He has a good arm. Courage nearly leapt towards the ball pit, glad to be moving and happy for company. Terror was not at all her sort of playmate though she was always, of course, polite and affectionate. Terror was, sort of, her sibling. In a way.

"Alllll colors!" Quixana agreed cheerfully. "What's your fav'rite color?" Tugging her hand a bit, he lead her to the pit and then let go so he could clamber over the soft padded side to step down into it. Then he held out his hand again. "Want help?" he offered.

Wooow yeah Lys never does that to me. Lysium looked at her daemon and frowned.

Girls don't do that...

With a grin she turned back to Quixana and was quickly distracted by his question. What was her favourite colour ? "Black...and...star-colour."

Looking at all the balls she followed Quixana on wobbly legs and took his hand. She knew she could have been able to do it alone, but like this it was more fun. Girls did it that way, right ?

Shiver watched Lysium quite astonished because of her new girly role. Strange...

Jumping into the balls and almost drowning in them he tried to get towards Courage. Woah, it wasn't so easy with so MANY big balls.

Spotting Shiver flounder a bit, Quixana half-reached for him. Then he remembered his manners and instead dragged Lysium over towards her daemon as if to indicate that she ought to rescue him. "Black and star-colored like Shiver, right? Shiver's neat," he announced. "Cats are the bestest."

Courage rumbled with laughter but clearly could only agree with his assessment, knowing that, to him, she was still just another cat. A very big cat but still a cat. Ducking her head a bit, she managed to push her nose under a bright red ball and flip it towards the children. Ask Lysium to throw, please, she asked Quixana. We want to play.

Lysium didn't get Quixana's attempt at first but after a few seconds watching Shiver disappear in the balls she reached for him and hugged him tightly. "Yes, like Shiver."

Shiver was happy that he was hugged but at the same time he needed to PLAY ! Struggling he was let to his feet again and scolwed a bit before his attention was turned to the bright red ball. Pleease Lys, throw for us !!

The girl looked at Quixana and wondered if girls did such things. Then she bent down and threw the ball slightly. She wasn't much of a sporty anyway.

Quixana laughed and applauded Lysium's throw. It hadn't been at all impressive but he seemed pleased nonetheless by her attempt. Courage, on the other hand, neatly rolled and made a big show of retrieving it for the little girl. Delicately, she dropped it at Lysium's feet... Where it promptly got lost amongst all of the other balls.

Bending, Quixana dug around to find a green ball and held it up. "Shiver wanna get this?" he asked. Then he tossed it in a gentle arc.

Shiver stared at the green ball and tried to get it after ducking at first. Chewing on it like it was a mouse he sadly had to recognise that it didn't taste nice. In fact, it didn't even taste like grass as he had expected. And it was far too large for his mouth.

Lysium giggled as she saw Shiver like this and reached to pick up the ball Courage had brought her. But it was gone already. "C'rage, ball's gone. What now?" She looked at Quixana and the mass of balls. Wanna build large tower?"

Shiver pouted and rolled the ball with a paw towards the lioness. Doesn't work...can you teach me the trick?

There's no trick to it. Courage nudged a random ball in Shiver's direction with her nose. My mouth is bigger, though.

Quixana nodded, beaming at the girl. "We can try!" he agreed. "Do it in all colors?" Bending down, he collected an overflowing armful of the brightly colored balls. Just as quickly, though, he lost them. He laughed. "It's gonna be tricky!"

Oh... So it probably WAS really about size. Shiver was about to pout for a moment, but then Courage probably wouldn't like to play with such a small one anymore. He needed to become as big as the lioness, no other way possible. Quickly he hit the ball with a paw to get it back into her direction.

"All colours." Lysium smiled and nodded slightly as she watched him lose all the balls. For a moment it looked like she would giggle, but she didn't. Picking two balls up she cleared a small space up and started to put some balls on the ground. "You bring the balls, I put on?"

"Okay. Good idea." Xana shot his new playmate a dazzling smile and then promptly scooped up a few balls. He held them steady against his chest and, very carefully, he picked his way over to Lysium. "I have red and yellow and green," he announced. "Red and yellow are primary colors."

Courage laughed and caught the ball beneath both paws. Then she flopped to her side before nudging it back at Shiver. Are you going to try and grow up big? she asked. Then you can carry Lysium around.

"Primary?" Lysium knew a lot about colours. There were likable ones and others. But what was that primary thing all about? Looking closely at the red and yellow ball she picked them both up and neatly put them down to build a nice pyramide.

Shiver tried to nudge it back more fiercely and really enjoyed the game. He was so glad that Courage didn't make fun out of him. Oh yeah, very big. That would be cool. Do you want to be that big too?

Definitely. I think I will, too. Mama lets us watch shows on a channel called Animal Planet and we sometimes see other lions. She paused and Shiver could almost hear the frown in her voice. Except I don't think I would like to run down wildebeest. They don't look very tasty.

"They're like... Basic colors, Mama said. Blue and red and yellow. You mix 'em together and they turn into other ones." Quixana brought over another couple balls and waited patiently to hand them over. "Have you ever used fingerpaint? You can make other colors like that."

Talking to Courage always seemed to drain out the last pieces of Shiver's knowledge. Why did he always think that he had to learn so much more when he talked to her? So he tried to come up with something sensible. Ewww, wildbeast. Since they had no tv at home, he was quite sure that such a channel had to be a magic thing. Do they show cats on that channel too? Where can you visit it?

Lysium listened carefully and tried to attach every possible colour information to her mind. Why didn't Faiga ever show her such things? "Ok. I understand." And she did, just as she said. The balls Quixana offered her were patiently put on the already existing ones, so slowly a little pyramide evolved. "Don't know. Daddy doesn't have them? But I make puppets out of straw."

"Oh." Quixana turned this over in his mind as he dutifully fetched more balls for Lysium. Turning back to her, he suddenly smiled and held out two more. "I bet that's neat," he announced. "I've never made puppets before. Is it hard? Do you have puppet shows after you make 'em then?"

Lots of cats, Courage agreed with a happy purr. She seemed oblivious to Shiver's floundering with the new information. I'm glad you're a cat. I bet Lysium is, too.

Lysium slowly started to enlarge the pyramide. It was a very fragile but still steady kind of building. She enjoyed the game quite a lot and happily excepted the balls. Picking the two balls she looked at Quixana. "Takes some time." As she thought about his further questions she didn't know what to answer. Usually she played that she was the puppet's Mom, but she didn't know if that was a boys thing. "I play Mommy. I don't have one."

I am glad. Cats are cool. Everyone should be happy about us. Shiver smiled and rolled around on his back. I once saw a cat with SPOTS on the way to this place. SPOTS!

A New Life

...

{Lysium peered through the wooden door's slit and sighed. She was wearing a red and black striped long scarf which was slowly dangling down her fragile body. Faiga hadn't been inside the house this night, he had been out and about and at first she hadn't noticed or cared, but now she was curious. It didn't help much that Shiver had vanished inside the hut to look what was going on. She hoped he'd come back soon, it was getting cold outside.

Finally she heard the daemon's voice inside her head. One of the birds is ill. It sounded pretty insecure, but after a few seconds the black feline pushed himself through the slit. Lysium always wondered how he managed to squeeze himself so much. "What? Ill? Why's that?" The girl knew very well that the chocobo's were precious to them. Faiga had once told her that they needed them for living, because if he sold them they got food and such. Shiver tried to get the dust out of his black fur before sitting down to lick his paw. As he moved it across his ear he finally answered. It made screamy noises and Faiga rubs its belly a lot.

Daddy was rubbing its belly? He had done that to her when she had a cold last winter so probably Shiver was right. Suddenly another loud chocobo scream echoed through the morning silent followed by a thud. "Nice!" Faiga cheered and caused Lysium to frown. "Is it...dead?" The Forgotten looked at Shiver who seemed just as frightened as her. What was going on in there?

Before she was able to think further the door to the stables was opened and Faiga moved out into the fresh air of the morning. "Lys! What are you doing out here? You don't even wear shoes!" The man exclaimed and quickly grabbed her to keep her from catching a cold. "No! No!" She grumbled and quickly ran into the stables. Shiver hissed at Faiga and followed the Forgotten inside.

It smelt strange in here. A little bit like blood, but not actually ill. Lysium moved carefully towards the open box and stopped as she saw a strange, bloody mess on the straw. It was black and ewww....Shiver wrinkled his nose. "That's a baby, Lys. The Chocobo Mama just gave birth to this little one. It's alright, don't worry."

As if it understood what had been said the baby opened one of its black eyes and screeched slightly. Lysium stood still and remained silent. She noticed that it was alright, although she wasn't able to understand what had happened. So...chocobo alright? The Forgotten nodded and slowly moved closer towards Faiga. Strange stuff.}

Indoor Playgrounds are so noisy!

Playdate with Sera ( Eight )

{Cheering, yelling, screams of delight and surprise, kids climbing all over things...it's like a zoo! Or a playground. In fact it is a playground! But with walls? Interesting. An indoor playground.

Children were running everywhere, somethings tripping over themselves and falling on the squishy matting on the floor. People these days thought of every way to keep a child from getting hurt nowadays! Too bad they didn't think of the animals--why would you not though in a world like Gaia? A poor little white crane was perched up at the top of a slide with his feathers ruffled in annoyance at all the noise and the fact that he couldn't fit in the crowd to stay close to his girl.

The girl in question was a little blonde with bouncy ringlet curls put up into a ponytail, dressed like a little ballerina. A big pink and white layered ruffled skirt over a black leotard and matching black ballet slippers laced up to just under her knees. It was her favorite way to dress! Why bother waiting for a ballet recital or halloween to dress up? Dressing up was always fun! Even her mother stood out among the crowd of parents sitting and watching their children. This time the gypsy was wearing a bright turquoise skirt and a white strapless top. She certainly stood out when one glanced over at the other parents in what appeared to be drab clothing compared to her.

Seraaaaa! Hurry uuuup! I don't like this slide. It's too crowded. The crane whined in the girl's head, shifting his weight from foot to foot in aggitation. Sera sighed and pouted. Fiiiine. She'd been worried about the plastic of the slide rubbing against her skin too much, but now she just threw herself down it and went flying down the tube with a little scream of delight of her own that echoed up and down the slide.

He didn't really remember how long it had been. A long, long time ago actually. Lysium had been helping with the chocobos. Shiver had learnt to behave a bit. They had been quite lonely though. At first Faiga hadn't realised that the girl needed to meet children at her age, but now she had looked out of the window for days painting figures on the glass with her fingers.

After asking her what she'd like to do she had looked at Shiver and had announced 'balls'. Faiga was sure she had meant the indoor playground. So there they were. It was noisy, it was horrible and Lysium walked slightly behind him looking around a bit scared. Shiver was happy though.

Until something hit the little black cat hard. BIRD ATTACK! Shiver screamed in agony as Lysium swirled around on her stubby feet. Dressed in her favourite dress she simply stared at the crane which had just hit her daemon. She blinked.

Crescentia was keeping a good eye on Sera and Seduire, smiling and applauding her daughter when the girl flew out of the slide (Not so gracefully if I may add) but scrambled to her feet and did a little finishing 'ta da!' pose for the gypsy. Unfortunately for Shiver the bird that 'attacked' her was just a clumsy crane daemon who was still having a little trouble flying. He'd been trying to follow Sera and fly straight to where she'd land buuuut he still wasn't used to it.

In the end he landed on Shiver. What a lovely first impression.

Sera gasped and ran over to Lysium, Shiver, Faiga and Seduire. "Ohnoohnoohno!" The little girl picked up the crane and somehow cradled him in her arms despite his size. What happened? He asked, clearly dizzy even if his bird face didn't allow for such an expression to be shown. "Mister Kitty! Seduire's sorryyyy!" Sera exclaimed, looking up suddenly with wide eyes when something turqoise caught her eye. It was Crescentia! The gypsy blinked and stared down at the two girls and animals. She obviously didn't recognize Lysium and Shiver just yet. The children were what she was looking at, so unfortunately Faiga wasn't noticed juuuust yet.

"What do you say, Sera?" The gypsy murmured, still looking a little confused. She hadn't actually seen what happened...just Sera running in a panic had caught her attention.

"Is kitty 'kay?" Sera asked Lysium, petting Seduire's head...even though it was really his pride hurting and not any part of his physical self. ...I fall from the sky and she asks if the one I land on is okay?! Sera blinked. But I know you're okay.

I'm dead, going to kill me, help, Lys, help, help! Shiver continued to scream as his Forgotten didn't seem to react at first. He was used to those big chocobo birds now, but this one appeared to be one of the most dangerous kind. Killing kind.

Lysium instead watched Sera and pondered whether she knew her or not. Was it meeting time again? The girl had experienced several times in her life in which she'd been terribly lonely. There had been other times in which she had met people. Didn't she know that one? No. But the grown-up was somehow familiar.

As Seduire was picked up Shiver decided that playing dead was the best opportunity to survive. So he fell silent. "Dunno. No talk." Lysium mumbled and moved over to Shiver to poke him slightly with her shoe.

Faiga had watched the scene quietly. If something happened to the little cat Lysium would definately be traumatised. He knew that they weren't to be parted. She didn't seem too scared yet so the little pal was probably alright. Turning towards the woman he smiled. "I guess they're alright. Wait...aren't you...", the man fumbled with names in his mind, "you're Crescentia, right?!"

Seduire wasn't a killer! He was just still having some trouble flying! It should've been the other way around though; the bird should be the one complaining that a cat's going to kill it.

Sera was petting Seduire's head when Lysium answered her question, frowning a little. Her kitty didn't talk to her like Seduire talked to her? She thought all animals talked to their friends! Even animals on the tv talked to their friends...was the kitty broken? It'd be mean to think the girl in front of her was broken; people don't break! That's just silly. She watched as Lysium merely poked at her cat with her shoe, blinking. "...Oh...I's Sera!" The little girl suddenly exclaimed, smiling again. "An' Seduire!" She added when she felt the crane's feather's already ruffling from not getting an introduction of his own.

Crescentia looked up when she was addressed, her expression going from concerned to excited. No wonder the little girl and her cat looked familiar! They were Faiga's! "Sì! Sì! You remembered!" The woman grinned and kissed Faiga on each cheek, her customary greeting for anyone she was already acquainted with, giving the man a hug. "I wasn't expecting to see you and dear Lysium here, Faiga!" Finally, someone around her age she could chat with today. It helped that he was a cute, sweet man.

Shiver opened an eyelid to watch the situation. He was the center of attention again! How did he always manage to do that? The daemon was sure that he was probably the trickiest of all the cats on the planet. It just had to be like that.

"Saw that..Shiver." A small, but still very satisfied grin appeared on Lysium's face. She hadn't been worried about the cat. Since she had recognised that people felt ill when cats felt ill she always knew if he was alright.

Turning towards Sera she stopped smiling but instead started to examine her closely with her golden eyes. She looked alright. Had to be one of the bird persons. "Lysium. You can fly?" Pointing at the slide she inquired to know how it worked.

Tell my name, tell my name! The cat whispered into her mind, but after all she didn't react to it.

Faiga blushed. No, actually he blushed really really hard. Damn, he had forgotten about her being so...body-intense. "Yes...yes...I remember...of course..." The man stuttered and tried to think of a subject to talk about. "So you're...here too ?" Darn, stupid question, but now it was too late.

Sera blinked. Why was she asking if she could fly? She followed where Lysium was pointing at, suddenly understanding why she was being asked if she could fly. Oh! She'd pushed herself pretty hard to get down that thing, hadn't she? Sent herself tumbling out...must've looked like flying for a minute. She turned back to Lysium with a bright smile and shook her head. "Nooo~! Issa slide!" Finally letting go of her crane, Sera waved for Lysium to follow her as she toddled up the padded steps to climb up to the slide, checking behind her every now and then to make sure Lysium was following. This girl was so pale! But her dress was pretty! And her kitty was cute! And she was older! So maybe she'd be more fun!

Seduire flew in circles overhead...of course now he landed carefully on a slide every so often so he wouldn't crash and burn again. He was not going to land on anything else, especially Shiver.

While Sera and Lysium played Crescentia took advantage of it, grabbing Faiga's hand and leading him to an empty bench for parents to sit at while their children played. "Sì, sì. Unfortunately it's just Sera and I. Guin wanted to spend time with one of my brothers, she's developing a thing for...weaponry." She shrugged and started toying with Faiga's hair. "So how have you been? Still raising chocobo?" Unlike the man, the gypsy seemed more than comfortable keeping the conversation going. Of course it didn't take long for her to forget about his hair and lightly trace the tattoo on his face. It obviously still intrigued her that he was from a clan of his own like she was.

Lysium followed Sera slowly and watched her climbing the stairs suspiciously. "Slide..." The Forgotten mumbled and cocked her head to one side. It appeared to be a save thing and the other girl seemed very happy about it. So perhaps she should take a closer look at it.

Still she didn't feel comfortable with Shiver lying in front of the slide. If she had got it right it was something about this thing that made you go down there again. "The cat has a name. It's Shiver." Lysium announced and then followed Sera up the stairs.

When he heard this Shiver jumped up at once and ran after them quickly. Almost stumbling across his own feet he sprinted after them. Lys, Lys, is it a fun thing? As the girl didn't answer he turned to Seduire. Do you need wings to do it?

Faiga looked back at Lysium and as he was sure that she was alright allowed himself to be dragged away. "Oh weaponry...that's...interesting, but dangerous?" He said nervously and had to calm himself down as she touched him again. "Y-Yeah, we're still raising them. Recently a baby was born. Little black baby. You could come and see it with your children one day ?"

Seduire perched on top of the slide when Sera finally made it to the opening. The little girl sat down on the very edge and tried to scoot over so Lysium could fit in and sit next to her if she wanted--just ignore the sign that says 'One at a time!' on the wall next to them. "Ch'ver?" Ouch. Nice try. Shiver: take two! "...Shivah?" Well that was closer.

I don't know. Seduire answered Shiver, giving a little bird-shrug. The children don't all have wings... Something like this might hurt someone with wings! Seduire didn't want to take his chances with this slide...what if he flipped over and DIED?

Okay that's a little dramatic, but still!

"Go?" Sera asked, scooting a little down the top of the slide until the very edge of where the slide made a bit of a bigger slope.

Crescentia gave a little shrug. "It is, but his things are mostly for show. He won't let her touch anything that will hurt her." She smirked a little when Faiga stuttered, still tracing the red tattoos. How adorable! "A baby? Really? Aww! That sounds so adorable! I'd love to see it one day! I can bring Guin and Sera too so they can all play with Lysium." The gypsy paused in her touches for a moment to adjust her sitting position, crossing her legs and putting her head on Faiga's shoulder. She stopped touching his face for now. "Do you know if it's a boy or a girl? Have you named it yet?" She sounded kind of excited just then.

Lysium took care that her dress didn't take any damage and sat down beside Sera. She didn't know if you usually slid with two people, but she simply imagined it to be alright. That slide looked large enough.

"Ya, Shiver." The Forgotten repeated as if she wanted to confirm the girl's tries. So how did you do this actually? She watched Sera scoot down a bit and then followed very, very carefully. Unfortunately she wasn't that carefull and slid already a bit faster.

Shiver followed Lysium as quickly as possible. Struggling with the steps he finally made it up. Coooming toooo! The daemon called out and ran down the slide. Oops.

Oh noes, help Lys, help bird!

Listening to her words Faiga tried to get everything and remember everything right. It took him a few seconds to realise that Crescentia had asked him something. Damn, why was she pretty? "Yeah, a baby. You're invited and your daughters as well, of course." He had to clean up everything beforehand. "How about next week? Just if you have time...oh, and it doesn't have a name yet. But he's a boy!"

Sera gasped when Lysium started going down faster than she thought she'd be going, giggling when it was just because she was going down the slide. Had she never been on a slide before? Wow! Well...Sera hasn't been in the ball pit yet, so that'll also be an adventure that Lysium can show Sera. That should prove to be interesting with a crane. Is she going to be okay? Seduire asked Sera, cocking his head curiously to the side as he leaned over the opening of the slide enough to see the cat and the girls.

And now Sera and the cat were going down. Sera was giggling happily but Shiver...well...he didn't look very happy. I can't help you! The crane answered apologetically, carefully moving down the top of the slide above the three inside since flying obviously hadn't turned out well. "S'fun!" Sera cheered, giggling when her voice echoed throughout the tube slide.

"Well, thank you very much, Faiga." Crescentia smiled, looking up at the man without taking her head off his shoulder. She reached up with one hand to playfully brush a little bit of hair out Faiga's eyes, using the same hand to tap thoughtfully at her chin. Did she have anything planned next week? She didn't believe so...then again she never really made plans, most of the time she just kind of went with whatever she felt like doing at the time. "Sure! Next week sounds wonderful! ..Ooh! Can I name him? I love naming little babies!" She sat up with an excited look of hopefulness in her eyes, holding one of his hands in both of her own close to her lips. How could you say no to such a face?

Lysium didn't really know if she enjoyed it, because she tried to do everything right. But actually, it probably was just about sliding. So if you looked very closely you could see a small smile on her lips. Sliding after Sera she made sure that she didn't bump into her. "Like slide." She commented as she looked at the new friend.

Shiver rolled and rolled and rolled and rolled out of the slide. But lucky as cats are he landed on his feet. First of all a bit confused he looked at the bird and narrowed his eyes. S'ok...

"You're welcome." He smiled getting a little bit less nervous. "Oh, sure you can name him!" Looking at the children who seemed to have a lot of fun at the slide Faiga nodded. And he couldn't say no to her anyway. "I'm looking forward to it."

"Yaaay!" Sera cheered when she heard Lysium announce she liked the slide, pushing herself down it a little faster until she tumbled out of the end of the slide with an excited 'wheeeee!' and a giggle, lying on her back the way she forced herself to land while she waited for her friend. Slides were fun! She sat up after a moment and waited for Lyisum to come out, giggling when Shiver came out first. What a cute kitty! "You's silly!" She giggled, covering her mouth with both hands. Now she stood up and carefully walked to the slide, standing a little to the side so she wouldn't get hit with Lysium. "Lys'uuuuum?"

Seduire was now perched on the end of the slide watching Sera get dumped out by gravit, but he started having a crane's equivalent of a laughing fit when he saw Shiver rolling and rolling and rolling out of the slide. You okay? He flapped his wings to, gracefully this time, land on the ground next to the cat. Why was he narrowing his eyes at him? Seduire tilted his head a little. Fun?

"Yay! So am I!" Crescentia giggled and threw her arms around Faiga in a hug, nuzzling her cheek against his as she watched the children. "Aren't they adorable." The gypsy's smile remained as she suddenly pressed a kiss to Faiga's cheek. "You know you're a lot less nervous this time!" Just something she'd noticed.

Lysium slid down and watched the scene for a moment. Making sure that Shiver was alright she turned towards Sera. She had said her name, hadn't she? "Yes?" What were they supposed to do now? Finally she noticed that Faiga didn't seem to be around. That was scary! Pouting a bit she looked at Shiver and then back to Sera. She only had a Mommy, did she know about Daddies?

Shiver moved back towards the end of the slide and looked at Seduire. It had been horrible, slidy and...Great fun! He grinned. Nobody should ever know that he had been afraid of the big thing called slide. Nobody.

Faiga tried to stay as calm as possible, but his blood was quickly rushing inside his head. "T-they are, thanks." Nervous? She had NOTICED that he was nervous. Damn. "Oh you still make me nervous." The man admitted.

The little girl parroted her daemon. "Fun?" Sera asked with a smile, crawling over to where Lysium was sitting. She didn't know where her mommy was either, but she was sure that the woman was somewhere close by where she could still see Sera. It's not like the gypsy would leave her behind somewhere. She was curious about Lysium's pout, however, and imitated it while somehow still looking curious. Why was Lysium pouting?

Seduire, despite having a beak and not lips, give a birdy smile. Good! Again? The crane looked at Sera. She thought about it for a moment and shook her head. Somethin' else! She answered him, although she knew Lysium couldn't hear any of this. Maybe the older girl would just take the initiative? Maybe? Hopefully? Sera didn't know what else there was to do besides run around like the other kids!

Crescentia blinked. "..I do?" She sat up and let go of Faiga, leaning forward a little in her seat to watch his face. He was blushing so hard. "How? Why?" The gypsy honestly was curious...and clueless.

Lysium turned to look at Sera and shrugged. She didn't know if it was fun, but it probably had been alright. What she really liked was making stuff. Perhaps they could walk around and find precious things? Treasure hunt, Shiver?

The cat was glad to get distracted and shook his head. I would, but Lys has another idea. In fact he was sure that she had just saved his life.

"How 'bout...we go 'round and look for nice things to keep." She sometimes did that with nice stones on the Chocobo Farm. In this place they could find soo much!

Faiga sighed. He didn't really know how to lie good and so he probably had to be honest with her. Although it hurt his manly pride somehow. "Yes, you are...very beautiful and you touch me all the time. It's like...driving me crazy. I'm not used to it, I'm only living with birds to know. You probably recognised it by my smell." He lowered his head wondering if she would pick up Sera now and leave, quickly.

"'Kay!" Sera smiled big and pushed herself to her feet, and looking around. It'd take a lot of looking to find cool stuff! But that was half the fun, wasn't it?

Seduire perked up a bit when the girls decided they were going to do something else. Finally! No more going up and down! It was starting to hurt his still-developing wings! Seraphine took a moment to look around for their parents and make sure they were indeed still around and hadn't forgotten them. What a silly thought! How could Crescentia ever forget her? She was content with seeing them sitting with the other parents, although Sera did find it a little odd not to see her mother cuddling with Faiga like she cuddled with everyone else she was talking with. "Lessgooooo~!" Sera suddenly cheered, grabbing Lysium's hand and waiting for the older girl to lead the way. This treasure hunt was her idea after all! Maybe they'd find things that other little kids had dropped and lost!

The gypsy listened quietly to Faiga's explanation about his nervousness around her, propping her chin up in the palm of her hand. So it was just because of how she was? Oh dear...hm...he didn't seem hate it...he just wasn't used to affection? How sad! Crescentia smiled softly when he finished, leaning close for a moment to bury her face into his chest. "Birds must smell pretty good then!" She teased, sitting up again. "So I drive you crazy? I'm sorry, Faiga...it's just the way I am." Crescentia shrugged. "Would you like me to stop?"

Lysium was glad that the younger girl accepted her idea so willingly and gave Shiver a sign to follow. The cat made sure that he DIDN'T follow the sign and waited a few seconds before running after them.

So you know why everyone is a bird or a cat, but only one is a colour changing one? He tried to make some conversation with Seduire, although the question probably wouldn't make sense to the bird.

Quickly they moved towards a large area where lots of parents seemed to hang around. In fact it was the coffee shop. Lysium was sure that big people also had bigger treasures. At least Faiga had more nice things than she called her own. Pointing at some empty seats she nodded. "You and bird look down, we look up! Good? It was very unusual for her to talk so much, but she really liked that game.

That was a compliment, right? Faiga smiled faintly and then looked at the buried face right below his chin. Probably he just had to..."No, I will get used to it. I guess, one day." She just couldn't expect him to react in any way. He couldn't. "By the way...where did the kids go?"

Color changing? Seduire blinked and watched the cat curiously. Everyone was a bird or a cat? But only one was color changing? Was this a riddle or something? What do you mean? He asked as he shook a little, checking his feathers to make sure they were all properly in place. The crane hung back with Shiver, clearly interested in what the cat had to say since he seemed to be the most...sane daemon Seduire had met so far. Forget the fact that he's really only briefly met two others!

Sera toddled along beside Lysium as they walked up to the coffee shop, slowing down a little with a frown. They were leaving the playground? The young girl glanced back at where she'd last seen Faiga and Crescentia, looking a little wary of being out of her mother's sight...but if she stayed with Lysium and Shiver it'd be okay...right? Of course! Nothing bad could ever happen with all these adults around! How silly of her to think such a thing. After a moment of thought Sera smiled and nodded, getting down on her hands and knees to crawl so she was closer to the ground to see things; this felt more comfortable anyway. She was still getting used to walking. "'Kay!"

Be careful, Sera. Seduire tugged at one of the girl's blonde curls as a tiny warning to stay close to him. I will, Seduire! Don't worry!

Faiga was right to think of her comment as a compliment. "Alright then. I can wait for that!" Crescentia pressed another kiss to the man's cheek, giggling softly. "Thank you very much for telling me how you feel." His question didn't destroy her smile...yet. "Oh, that's easy. They're playing on the sl...ide?" When Crescentia had looked up to check the line for the slide she didn't see a bird, a cat, a pale girl in a colorful dress or her cute little ballerina! ...They were there two seconds ago! The gypsy blinked. "...But...but they were just...!" They were just there! They were little! Their legs were small! How could they have gotten out of sight so quickly?!

Shiver stopped to look at the bird. How was he able to explain it? You know, people like us. I met others and all of them were big cats and lots of birds, like you. And one...one was small with a tongue and was able to change her colour! He actually referred to Stealth, Althalus' lizard. He didn't know how the animal was called though, which made him feel a bit twitchy.

The daemon didn't seem to be a worried one. He quickly jumped onto the seat and looked down. Lysium followed him slowly, always making sure that her dress didn't get damaged. It was her favourite one and she feared that Faiga would buy something she didn't like. He was good at that. Golden eyes were looking for anything special. "Do you see something good?"

The father didn't think about her words, but finally became worried. Damn, how could he have forgotten to look after the malicious cat and Lysium once in a while? "They can't be far. I bet they went towards another kind of game. Let's look at the ball pit, Lysium once played there with somebody else." She seemed scared so he grabbed her hand and got up. "I bet they're alright. Lysium often strolls around alone on the farm."

Oh...I haven't met many others. Just a whale and a dragon. You're the first cat I've met. Seduire blinked. A small cat with a tongue and was able to change color? Weird! He'd have to meet this small, color changing cat with...a tongue...didn't all cats have tongues? Odd.

Seduire stayed close to Sera as they searched under chairs and tables, jumping a little when Sera startled a woman whose table she was crawling under. Careful! The crane warned again, stopping momentarily to pick up something shiny that'd caught his eye and putting it in front of his girl for her to find. Sera spotted it right as Lysium asked if she'd found anything. "Uh huh!" She sat down and held the item up in the palm of her open hand for Lysium to see; it was an earring someone must have lost without noticing. Just a dangly one with a bunch of loops and dots. "Good?" Sera asked excitedly, obviously proud of her find.

Faiga wasn't the only one at fault though! Crescentia had meant to check on them while he was speaking to her but...well...she forgot. "Sera hasn't played in a ball pit yet...so maybe..." It'd probably be easier for her to keep an eye out for the crane if that's where they were. She doubted Seduire would want to muss up his feathers in a ball pit. Probably wasn't a good activity for a bird anyway. The gypsy was faintly surprised when it was Faiga who grabbed her hand this time, but she still got up and followed him without a word of protest or comment. "She does? But there're people here..." Sera had sense enough to stay away from strangers for now at least.

What's a whale?
Shiver asked while he climbed one of the tables and started chewing on a piece of cookie. It was quite delicious, but before he announced that he had found it, it was already gone. What a pity.

Lysium instead looked at the dangling thing and nodded approvingly. "Good. Not so nice, but ok. We need more." Quickly she grabbed one of the plastic spoons which lay on the table and tried to rub it dry on Shiver's fur.

Finally she was taking care of his fur! The daemon started to purr because of the treatment until he realised that something was STUCK in his hair. A spoon thing...

"That's indeed a good point." Faiga mumbled and allowed his eyes to take a pleasant journey through children and annoyed parents. There were people everywhere! Moving towards the ballpit he quickly noticed that no cat was to be seen - no cat, no Lys. Soon he started to become worried. "Ehm...any idea?"

It's...like a fish! Except it breathes air and its tail goes up and down, and it's bigger. Much bigger. The crane explained as best as he could. Watching Shiver eat a piece of cookie he'd found. Lucky! He wanted one too! Seduire lowered his head to peek under tables and chairs need them, giving a tiny squawk of pleasure when he found a large chunk of muffin. Perfect!

Sera blinked and looked at the earring. "Nosso nice?" She thought it was nice! Oh well, maybe Lysium knew better since she was older. The little girl giggled when Lysium stuck a spoon on her kitty, holding the earring carefully as she looked around for something else they could have. Adults dropped stuff a lot!

There wasn't even a single feather at the ballpit. Crescentia frowned and hugged Faiga's arm against her, looking carefully at every area she could see just from where she was standing. "Ooh! I'm such a terrible mother!" The gypsy sighed. Her mother never lost her like this. Somehow through all her worry she still smelled the cookies and muffins at the coffee shop; those smelled good! "...Sera likes cookies." She murmured suddenly, staring at the coffee shop sign she could see over the heads of other people.

Cool...fish. Fish is tasty. Faiga had given him one once and he had really enjoyed it. He had to ask Lysium if she could ask the man to give him one again. Do you like fish?

Lysium didn't intend to comment on the earring furthermore and rather looked around for more stuff. There was a coin. Now they could make something out of it. Ripping the spoon out of Shiver's fur without much damage, but with a lot of complaining on the daemon's side she asked for the earring. "We make a pretty thing. For you."

Faiga was bad at comforting people, but he tried his best to pad her shoulder lightly. "No, you're not. You're worried about her, bad mother's wouldn't be worried." Turning to look at the coffee shop he nodded. "Let's go and take a look there then."

Seduire gave a birdlike shrug. I haven't had fish yet. But it smelled and sounded like it'd be delicious! Perhaps he'd bug Sera to bug Crescentia into buying some with her adorable charms. The crane glanced at Sera for a moment...it could work.

"Meee?" She giggled and clapped with delight, smiling brightly. "Yaaaay!" A pretty thing for her! How nice of Lysium! But what would they make with a coin, a spoon, an earring and anything else they'd find here? Sera thought about what could possibly be made with this stuff as she handed over the earring to her new friend.

Crescentia smiled a little at Faiga's words; he was right, a bad mother wouldn't worry...how sad. She barely waited for Faiga's answer to her suggestion as she grabbed his hand and quickly led him to the coffee shop, blatantly ignoring parents she had to push past. You don't anger a worried gypsy! She'll curse you or something. The gypsy gasped loudly when she saw Seduire's head, letting go of Faiga to pick up Sera in a tight hug. "Here you are!"

We have fish in a pond, but those are not for eating. You need to go to a place called "market". There you find fish. Shiver said quite proudly. The little daemon was content that he had knowledge Seduire hadn't.

"Yes." Lysium replied firmly and accepted the earring with a slightly pleased smile. Quickly she bent the spoon and split its shaft into two pieces. Then she wrapped the white stuff around the earrings edges and as strange as it seemed it appeared to hold quite well. The coin was also attached to the earrings centre. Lysium didn't know HOW it worked, but it worked well and soon there was a white earring with loops and dots and a coin attached to it.

Just as she had finished she noticed that Sera was hugged by somebody. It was her Mommy! Frowning a bit she handed it over to the younger one quickly and looked at Faiga who smiled at her. "There you are, Lysium. What have you been doing here?"

"Earring." The Forgotten Document mumbled and was pulled onto her feet by her father. Shiver watched the prodecure cautiously. "I guess its time for a bath at home." Faiga announced.

I just haven't had the chance to try it. Of course Seduire knew about fish markets and ponds having fish, but he was too busy looking after his girl to worry about tasting fish. He'd try it one day. He'd just have to ask Sera to try and get him some...somehow...not sure how she'd do it.

Sera gasped and watched Lysium construct something with the objects she was given, her mouth forming a little 'o'. Wow! That was amazing! How did Lysium get the spoon to wrap around the earring like that? And then get the coin to stick in the middle? "Ooh!" Sera took the object when her new friend gave it to her, squirming a little at the displeasure of her mother suddenly coming up behind her and taking her away from her fun. MOMMY! She whined, ignoring Seduire's 'she can't hear you' comment.

"How lovely, Lysium!" Crescentia smiled, rubbing her cheek against Sera's. "Did she make that for you?" Sera nodded and grinned down at Lysium. She blinked when Lysium's father said it was time to go home for a bath, whining and opening her arms to Lysium for a hug, squirming against her mother even more.

"Noooo!" She whined stubbornly, pouting. Sera could see her mother nodding in agreement with Faiga until she'd whined and struggled; they were going home?! No fair!

"Ma cher, we have to go get your sister. You wouldn't want to leave her all alone, would you? Besides, you'll see each other again soon! And the three of you can play together!" Crescentia wasn't going to miss out on seeing the baby chocobo. Sera frowned a little more and gave in, hugging the object carefully to her chest. The little girl blinked when she was suddenly very close to Faiga for a brief moment, missing the kiss her mother had pressed to the corner of his mouth. "Commiato, dear Faiga, little Lysium, little Shiver." She giggled, waving with Sera as she walked away. Sera was still pouting the entire time.

Shiver nodded at Seduire and wished him the best to try fish one day. Then he quickly moved close to Faiga so he prevented being left behind. It looked like they wanted to go.

Lysium pouted a bit because they had been interrupted, but as she noticed the inevitable situation she just waved at Sera. There was nothing they could do about it and the other one had tried quite enough. Hopeless.

Her father didn't seem to notice anything anyway. Since Sera's mother had kissed him he seemed to be in a state of strange happiness. "Bath?" The Forgotten asked him as the others were gone for a while already and he was still standing there smiling.

Quite startled the man shook his head and then smiled at the Forgotten. "Yes, yes, sure." Lysium frowned. Parents were truly strange.

Autumn arrives

...

{She really liked it out here. The small girl was huddled against the old apple tree in the farm's backyard and watched Shiver scratching the old bark with his pointy claws. Actually he made sure that they were dangerous, but Lysium knew quite well that they couldn't do much damage. He tried to slice a sausage once and the claw was stuck in there after that.

The wind blew through her hair and she enjoyed the silence just looking at the moving clouds above. It had become more grey lately outside, but she appeared to like it like this. You were always happy to get inside again where it was warm and Faiga was there with a cup of hot chocolate.

Right now he was walking towards her though which made Lysium frown a bit. "Hey Lys." He said gently and sat down beside her. The grass was still wet and so were the ends of her dress. "What are you doing out here?" The father continued to ask and followed her golden eyes up to she sky.

What does he want? Shiver inquired as he noticed that the man had appeared. Usually he left them alone, which was quite alright for either daemon and girl. Lysium shrugged mentally and turned to look at the purple eyes, which were part of the well-known face. "Looking at clouds." She said and toyed around with the frills of her dress a bit.

"Don't you think it's a bit cold out here for only a dress and sitting on the wet grass?" Faiga smiled. "No." Lysium's answer was earnest, but filled with childish innocence of not understanding rhetorical questions. "I think it is. You know, it's autumn already." Faiga said and offered her a small black jacket he had gotten for her. Accepting it the Forgotten put it on her lap and continued to stare at the clouds.

What's autumn, Lys? The daemon asked and was echoed by the pale girl. "Autumn?" Faiga picked the jacket up again and tried to lay it around Lysium's shoulders. She allowed him to do so. "It's the time when the leaves start to fall off the trees and the wind blows cold. And time for your birthday, I guess."

Finally he had grabbed her attention. Why was he talking about so many things she hadn't a clue about? Shiver noticed the inner tense of the small girl and stopped his claw ritual to cuddle up beside her. "On a birthday people celebrate that you are here with them. It happens once a year. I don't know the exact date you were born, but I just decided...we will have a little party next week with your friends, ok?"

Lysium listened and slowly moved her small hand through Shiver's fur. Coool, everyone's going to be here. You mean...our home? He said so! I want birthday too!

The girl frowned slightly. They didn't like people to be here. It was like a very protective, holy place. Meeting others elsewhere was fine, but here? No.

Faiga got up and stretched himself a bit. "We'll be having supper in 10 minutes." He knew that she was thinking about it. She always remained silence for a while when he talked to her. Faiga had been worried about it at first, but he was also too scared to visit a doctor. She behaved normally otherwise so there was no need to panic. Lysium just appeared to be a very thoughtful little girl.

Happy Birthday

...

{As she opened their eyes she thought something must have gone terribly wrong. Slowly moving below the comfortable blankets she looked into two red candles which were placed on a small birthday cake. Why was there fire on this yummy stuff?

Shiver yawned and stretched his paws as he looked at Faiga who smiled warmheartedly. "Happy Birthday, Lysium. And Shiver." The girl watched him quietly while the daemon was astonished. Today was the day when everybody wanted to come, but Lys had cried so much that Faiga didn't want them to come anylonger. It sounded strange, but he wasn't mad with her. If Lysium was sad when others were here, Shiver didn't want them to be around.

"Hello Daddy." The girl whispered and sat up a bit as the cake was shoved onto her blanket. "You have to blow at the candles and make a wish. It will come true, if you keep it a secret." The father smiled proudly. Lysium wrinkled her nose, but voluntarily blew at the flickering flames. To her father's surprise she managed to blow them out quite well. He scolded himself that he always underestimated her.

She had wished for some fingerpaint, because she liked what Quixana had told her about it. Would it come true now? Faiga quickly removed the cake and smiled. "Well done, dear. Now it's time for your presents."

Shiver anxiously moved around in circles. What do you think he got us? Huh? Huh? Lysium was about to ignore his questions, but she was still too surprised about this special day that she revealed her thoughts to him. I would like paint.

A small bundle was placed in front of her feet. It was wrapped in some nice paper with stars on it. Instead of ripping the paper Lysium slowly fiddled with the adhesive tape and removed it. Unfolding the paper she found a book inside. A moon was on its cover and as she opened it there were only blank pages. The girl frowned. She had looked at other books but they had always been filled with different signs.

"It's a diary, Lysium." Faiga sat down on the bed's edge and was about to explain the function to her as Shiver started run across the bed impatiently. "Shiver likes presents, too." The Forgotten Document stated and looked at her father with golden eyes. He had known this, so he had done something about that fact. Pointing at the edge of the room he smiled.

Shiver raced towards the new scratching post and started to purr. Oh look, look, I can climb it and scratch it and climb and sleep on it and climb it...

Lysium stopped thinking about his excitement and turned back to the book. What was a diary? A single questioning look made Faiga explain its use to her. "You can write your thoughts in it and tell it about your day." "I tell Shiver about it." The girl concluded and looked at the useless piece. She wasn't even able to write, what a stupid present.

Her daddy continued though. "That's why I'd like to hire a teacher for you. He will come and give you lessons on reading and writing. An old man from my tribe." Lysium wrinkled her nose again, but kept silence. The wishing thing hadn't worked out. Stupid.

"But that's probably a bit boring for you, so I bought you something else as well." He smiled and offered another little package to her. "There are some crayons inside. They are good for painting." Lysium smiled. The cake hadn't been that bad at all!

How to Babysit a Cat and a Girl

Playdate with Althalus ( Kel-chan )

{After having celebrated the small Forgotten's birthday on their own, because Lysium insisted on inviting nobody, Faiga had planned to make her socialise a bit more. Probably with somebody older than she was and more able to tell her a bit about herself and life.

So he remembered the boy they had met by incident one day and called him up. Thinking about himself at that age he also offered a small payment for babysitting Lysium. It would give him some time to ride towards his tribe's small village and take care of some duties he had to fulfill.

Now they were standing in front of the house Althalus lived in. Lysium glared at Shiver as he was about to examine the garden. She wanted him to stay close, as close as possible to be precise. So she picked him up and clutched him to her chest. Faiga rang the door and golden eyes grew wide with fear. Can't...breath...LYS! The cat coughed.

There was a pounding of feet down the staircase, and then Althalus grinned at them as he opened the door. The slightly built boy had his hair tied messily at the nape of his neck, bandana tied tightly around his head, and his dark-ringed eyes were bright as he adjusted the loose black tunic he was wearing.
"Hi there! Mr. Faiga, right? I remember. How are those big yellow birds?" Without pausing much in his speech, he crouched to look up at Lysium. "And hi there to you to, Lysium. You sure have grown...." His face was open and trusting, though there was a slightly mischievous, wary look lurking in his eyes.

There was a muttering in the mental aether, though the boy's daemon was seemingly nowhere in sight.
Tell the girl she's crushing Shiver. Being able to breathe is a good thing.

Lysium's eyes grew wide as the door opened. She hadn't quite understood what her father had told her, but as she was greeted by Althalus she recognised him. So she eased her grip on the daemon as she noticed his unhappy state. A sorry didn't cross her lips or mind though, but she just stared at the older boy.

As she was slightly nudged by Faiga, Lysium finally responded. "Hello." Daddy had told her that he would leave and she was a bit afraid about them. She hadn't met anybody without him being around yet.

"Hi, yes, right. Thank you, Althalus, you're really doing me a favour. The birds are doing well. Lys, you will behave, right?" He smiled slightly and waited for his girl to get inside.

Shiver coughed again, ears twitching as he was partially released. There was this Althie guy, but where the hell was that colour changing one? He needed to get to know the trick! Colour changer, are you here?

Althalus stood aside slightly to let Lysium come into the house. "There's only me and Ralph here today, but he's out in the back garden, I doubt you'll see much of him. So me and Lys - can I call you Lys? - can go do some painting or something, how about it?" His tone was animated, but almost already dismissive of the guardian, attention all for the other little Forgotten.

There was still no sight of Stealth, but an amused tone came in reply to Shiver's inquiry. Of course I'm here. And my name is Stealth, remember it.

Lysium looked at Faiga for a moment before moving in with Althalus. "Bye Darling, I'll pick you up later." The father called out and then turned around. He'd never left her somewhere else, it was a bit of a strange feeling.

"You may." The toddler answered as she listened to his words. She didn't care about meeting that person named Ralph. Looking up at the older boy she nodded. Painting was indeed something she enjoyed. "I like to paint. Are you good?" She had quickly noticed that painting as all about being good, because Faiga always praised her talent. Perhaps Althalus wasn't informed about that and she needed to teach him. "I like gold."

Not many people talked to her that much and so she felt the need to say more than usual. Shiver didn't need to be reminded to talk though. I like black, because it's just like me and my fur colour. So do you like every colour, chang... - Stealth? It was a bit strange because he didn't know where to look at, so he decided to talk to the carpet. He would try to remember the lizard's name this time, it was stupid if you didn't know names.

Althalus gave a cheery wave to the departing Faiga, and then closed the door with a satisfied bang. "There! You wanna come through to the kitchen? I used to paint there a lot when I was a little younger. I like writing more than painting, though. You like writing, Lys? And gold, huh? Gold as a colour, or the stuff? Hey, you have cool eyes, actually."
The skinny older Forgotten padded happily through to the kitchen, looking back to make sure she was following. She sure was quiet.... ah well, he was quite happy to provide the conversation.

There was movement at his shoulder, and suddenly a small head appeared out of his collar, bright black eyes glittering as Stealth smoothly shifted colour to her relaxed bronze-brown.
I don't like adults seeing me. But it's only polite to see the person you're talking to, is it not? She still sounded amused. But black is good. I like lots of colours. She raised her head a little, a flood of inky black rushing over her until her eyes were undiscernable against the darkness of her skin, and she opened her mouth in silent laugh.

As Lysium had never been to somebody else's home she followed slowly and examined everything closely. After having finished that procedure. "Our kitchen is more small." She looked at one of the chairs and assumed that it was for her to take place. Bit insecure about stepping on her dress she turned to Althalus.

"I will learn it. I have a teacher now, but I just know how to write my name. Daddy gave me a book to write, but...what is fun about that?" Her doubts would have never been mentioned to her father, but because Althalus seemed trustworthy she wanted to rely on his experiences. She forgot about his other questions and the comments though as she recognised Stealth. Quickly she made sure that Shiver was around.

The daemon indeed had followed and had almost walked against one of the table's legs. Looking up he saw Stealth appear and sat down beside the piece of furniture. Yes, not nice. But now I can see you. What is wrong with adults? His fur brizzled in excitement as she changed a bit. Somehow it appeared quite creepy to him, but on the other hand it fascinated him quite much.

Althalus looked back from the sink. "Our kitchen is big because we got our dining table in it." He grinned as he knelt on the counter to get a cup out of the cupboard. "Do you want a drink? And take a seat, it's fine."

He came back over to the table with a glass of orange, hand absently going to his shoulder where Stealth scampered onto it, and then was lowered to the tabletop. The gecko-daemon changed to the warm yellow of varnished oak as she came over to peer at the newcomers with interest, only her movement and and eyes making her distinguishable.

Althalus looked more thoughtful as he started pulling newspaper out of a pile and spreading it across the table.

"Well.... writing is good because it helps to communicate to other people what you want them to know. Or to make notes of things you want to do or buy in case you both forget." The box with the paints was over by the washing machine, and Althalus moved over to get them, smiling back at Lysium with dark eyes. "Of course, my favourite is making secret letters that only me or my friends can understand. But words are good, you know? You can.... write poetry, or translate from other languages to help people understand one another." He waved a hand vaguely, dropping the box back on the table.

Why not adults? Stealth sounded mischievous. Because I can hide easily, and then if they don't know I exist, it's easier to surprise them, or to never let them know I exist at all.

Lysium nodded at the question and looked at the orange juice. Luckily she knew what it was so she didn't have to ask. Althalus seemed to carry Stealth around a lot. Shiver was more independent or perhaps she didn't like him THAT close. She didn't like him away either.

Before she had more time to think about that matter her attention was turned to the act of painting. "I want to paint you." The girl decided and looked at him with a very slight smile.

"Secret letters?" Lysium was pretty amazed by that idea. She had never thought of that possibility before, but that was probably because she didn't know of any friends to write to. Perhaps she could ask Althalus to write secret stuff with her, when she was older and knew how to write.

Shiver didn't know what to think about Stealth anylonger. Irony and mischievious thoughts were things he just couldn't follow yet. But he liked the idea of surprising people. At night, you can only see my eyes. The daemon commented. Is changing exhausting?

Althalus winked. "Yep, secret letters. When you learn the normal ones, I might even teach you, if you like." He went to find some paint water, and a few pieces of pristine white paper which were only marred by the crumpling at the edges.

"Tell you what, I'll show you some letters, but I'll make them all cool with the paint," he decided, dropping into the chair beside her before looking across. "And trust me, you don't really want to paint me, I'm boring." He smiled again, leaning his head forward to find a paintbrush, a gold chain glittering at his neck as it caught the light, along with the earrings in his slightly pointed ears.

Stealth came over onto the paper, the colour fading out of her until she was pure white, and looked at the small black cat-daemon appraisingly. Hiding at night is useful. And well.... when I was your age, I only could change colour to what is around me. I don't have to think about it, see? My skin is just changy, like your fur is fluffy. She sounded happier for a moment, more than her usual sarcastic self. But now if I make an effort I can change to the colour we think about, you know?

Lysium was about to say that she would really like to learn that, but was distracted by the paper and the paint. Following his attempts to find a paintbrush she leaned forward on the chair to see something.

In the process she noticed his jewelry. "Not pretty." She said it in an almost disgusted tone which was pretty serious at the same time. The comment after all wasn't meant to insult the older boy, but to protect him from wearing strange stuff. "You need different earrings." She continued.

Oooooh.... A simple noise of astonishment followed Stealth's actions. Shiver was pretty amazed by her now. Fluffy and changy, now I get it! In fact he didn't, because he still thought about being able to change one day. Stealth was older than he was - or at least she seemed to be more experiences - and so it was just a matter of time, Shiver assumed. "Can we do a game? You change and I say what you're thinking of ?

Picking the paintbrush Lysium examined it closely and then pushed it into the paintpot Althalus had just opened. It was a nice red. "They make you look hard. But you're nice. You should wear red and black coloured ones. Shiny."

Shiver was so happy that he finally had made a point Stealth seemed to like. He stretched his paws slowly and then eyed the gecko. She became orange. Orange..orange...what did he know? Fish! Goldfish! No no...her head is green...think Shiver, think...

She's an orange, Shiver. Lysium's voice echoed in his head. She didn't look at him though but slowly dripped some colour on the blank page in front of her. The daemon meowed happily. She's an orange! I mean...you, Stealth, you're an orange!

Althalus blinked a few more times, and then smiled pleasantly. "I'll give it a try, just for you, how about it?" He went to reach for the red paint, but then shrugged, passing over the blue and green to pick up the yellow. He didn't like blue or green, they seemed so cold. Colours should be soft and warm and light and dark, he thought absently, starting to scrawl wide arcs vertically down the side of the paper.

Stealth opened her mouth in a silent laugh, or a huff. Close, but not quite. I'm a carrot, cause I'm long and thin, see? If I was an orange I would do this, And she curled herself round into a ring shape, the green fading and her head touching her tailtip.

Althalus looked up to watch his daemon for a moment, and then laughed. "You're being funny today, Stealth dear."

Lysium didn't smile often, but as he accepted her 'offer' her lips parted slightly. "Oh yes, Al-?" She hadn't managed to remember his complete name. Looking at his paper she wondered what kind of letter that was.

Still a little bit shakey with the brush she started to paint Althalus' face. It looked quite friendly. "What do you show me now?"

Shiver pouted a bit. But then he realised that Lysium wasn't as intelligent as she thought and his pout turned into a grin. O carrot. You're long, not round. It made quite a lot of sense to him. My turn now? What am I?

The cat daemon tried to get on his feet and straightened his body. The two upper paws in the air. Nervously he started to flap them. Then he squealed a bit. It looked strangely ridiculous and even Lysium turned to look at him.

"Al-tha-lus. Long name, huh?" The thief Forgotten was suddenly struck with a strong memory of so long ago, when April had showed him writings. Biting his lip, he found a new sheet, and mixed a bit of orange in with his yellow paint.

"That wasn't anything. But I'll make you a pretty writing of your name, how about it?" The paintbrush started tracing out a twirly, elegantly long 'L'.

Stealth uncurled herself, and then started snickering. Black bird? She indicated with a mental smile, her skin still bright orange.

Lysium watched the older boy as he suddenly seemed to think of something else. She knew how people looked like then, because Faiga always seemed to daydream. "Yes, long name. A-tha-lus." Smirking she paid attention to his letter.

As he had finished she glanced at Shiver and sighed. Stop doing that! He made her look aside and she wanted to concentrate, but of course that wasn't what she told him. Why? It's fun! Because I want it.

Shiver stopped hopping around like a bird and sat down beside Stealth. Good. That was easy! You turn! He was happy that they had found such an entertaining game to play.

Lysium instead took some black paint and tried to copy the L as good as possible. Of course it didn't look that elegant, but still you could make out it's original shape.

Althalus smiled. "Pretty good! But.... I'm not quite sure how I might spell your name next...." He pulled over the abandoned piece of paper from before, and scribbled much looser, scruffier letters, 'Lisium'. "Is it spelt like that? Or slightly differently?"

He knew somehow that she was likely to know her own name written down.... even when he couldn't read he could recognise the script of it. Maybe it was something to do with the fact they were both from the Library.

Stealth twirled slightly round in a circle, looking amused. Her skin flowed with white for a moment, and she concentrated hard, several black spots blooming slowly on her snowy skin. She then raised her head as high as it could go, and opened her mouth a few times, pretending to make a sound.
This one's harder. Come on, guess...

Althalus's eyes darted from the paper to his daemon for a moment.
Good grief. What's got into you? -smile-
I'm... practising.
So.. not playing a game then?
Of course not....
Riiiiight. Okay, if you say so.

The boy snorted slightly, and turned his attention back to the quiet girl.

Lysium's mouth became quite tiny as she pressed her lips together in concentration. Did her name look right like that? Putting her brush aside she looked at the scruffy letter and pondered. It looked right...but... "This one needs a tail." She pointed at the second letter and nodded wisely.

Somehow she wondered how people actually knew how it was right. Did it matter as long as you could see that it was almost the same? "Is it important?" The toddler asked and glanced at the playing daemon's once in a while.

Shiver watched Stealth with excitement. That was the best game ever, he would train so hard at home to learn how to change colour! It looked so funny, he had to keep himself from giggling mentally. But what kind of animal was that? A bird? No. It had to be something he didn't know. Hadn't Seduire said something about a whale which was big and...she hadn't mentioned colours though.

A white whale with dots which makes sounds?

Althalus paused, and then smiled, correcting the i into a y. "Like this, then? And it's very important. You have to have a name and it has to be done right." Pushing that one away he continued with his neat piece of paper, making the letters larger and elegant with little twirls on. It was a bit sloppy in places, but he was obviously concentrating hard on making it look nice, swapping between a rich purple colour and the goldy yellow.

Stealth tilted her head, pink tongue darting out absently to lick across her eyes.
It's a dog. You seen those big spotty dogs before? They bark lots....

"Yes. If you say so." Somehow she knew that name's were important, but writing was still pretty new to her. Still she believed in Althalus words and so she happily imitated his letters. They were simply black though, but after a while she added some red spots. It looked dark, Althalus' ones seemed more nice.

Dog? Luckily he had never met one, so Shiver wasn't informed about the usual procedure cat and dogs went through. Very funny. I like you, Stealth. The daemon said. It was different fun with Courage, because she was more good at physical play, but Stealth was kind of "brain fun" for him.

The thief Forgotten finished his work with a flourish, and then grinned. "I do say so. And hey, good copying there! You want this one too?" He draped the piece of paper carefully a little way away. "When it's dry, of course." Up in his room the painted words that April had done for him still hung on his wall; he felt it only right to pass on the favour.

Stealth indicated that she was rather happy, losing concentration and her skin shifting back to blend with the tabletop. You ain't so bad yourself, Shiver. I'll make Althie invite your girl over more often.

"Thank you." Lysium smiled gently and looked at the paper. It was almost like a present for birthdays. But Faiga had said that birthday's were only once a year and she still remembered her last one. She would really like to take this one home. Then suddenly she looked up at the boy. "When is your birthday?"

Oh yes, you can come and visit us and see the big birds. But Lysium doesn't like people at our home. He seemed a bit sad as he made the statement. Then he looked at the small Forgotten toddler.

Lys, when will Daddy come? The daemon asked mentally. Don't know. Suddenly she noticed that she had been spending a LOT of time alone and felt a bit insecure. Nervously Lysium bit her lower lip.

Althalus blinked. "My birthday? Oh..... on Tuesday, actually. Hey, I forgot about that! That's only a few days!" A bright, genuine smile spread across his face, before he looked back at Lysium. "What about yours?" He started washing his paintbrush vigorously in the water, replacing lids on the paints.

Big yellow birds, right? Stealth looked across at the girl sitting at the table, and tilted her head, before looking back at the large-eyed cat-daemon. We don't mind if we don't come visit. You and your other can always come into the town, there's lots of fun things to do there...

Lysium wondered if everybody had birthday around this time. Perhaps a year wasn't that long? It made her happy though that Althalus smiles. "Not long ago. 7th October, Daddy said." She had memorised the date, although she didn't really know what it meant. But she would learn soon enough, Lysium was sure. "When will he come to pick me up?]" She had started to miss her home a lot.

Shiver nodded and followed Stealth's eyes. Lysium looked sad. That was...a bad thing! I will tell her, then we will come here. Then we can do all these fun things. He moved towards the Forgotten girl and gently nudged her elbow.

Althalus blinked, and then glanced up at the clock before smiling warmly again. "He said he'll be here in the next little while, actually. Time flies when you're painting, huh?" He pushed back his chair, reaching over to pick up the paper he'd written Lysium's name on and waving it noisily to make it dry a little more.

Stealth cringed slightly at the noise, and scampered in unconscious mimicry over to leap to Althalus's sleeve, quickly regaining her position on his shoulder. She'd been not touching him for ages, it was so strange.... but for once she'd actually been enjoying herself, not lurking warily in her Forgotten's shadow.
Good. Be nice to meet you two again sometime.

Just when the sound of the drying paper echoed through the kitchen the doorbell rang. Lysium smiled for a short moment and then slid down the chair. She brushed across her dress for a moment and looked up at the older boy. "Thank you, Al-tha-lus." She held out her hands to receive the precious gift and turned to Shiver then, who made the attempt to hop onto her shoulder.

No.
Oh please, please. Stealth did it too.
He's taller, you're smaller. No. AND you have claws. Ouch.

Shiver pouted a bit, but somehow he got the point. He wanted to be a colour-changing lion in future, so he should forget about sitting on shoulders. His tail went up straight to show his happiness and he winked at Stealth. Yes, bye bye, Stealth. I will practise!

Lysium now waited for her father to come in or Althalus to open the door.

Old Wise Men

...

{The dark book was clutched tightly to Lysium's chest as she moved around inside the small hut. The smell from the kitchen was slowly dissolving. They had had pancakes today and Shiver was still busily eating the left-overs. It was fairly audible from the Forgotten's side of the room.

Stop smacking! She let the daemon know who looked up for a moment and stuffed another piece of pancake into his mouth afterwards. Sho del-ee-she-ous! He mumbled and wondered what was wrong with the girl. Usually she didn't mind if he did that.

Faiga was doing the dishes and glanced towards the nervous girl once in a while. A smile crossed his lips as he watched her with the diary. Since she had met Althalus Lysium had become acquainted with the idea of using it. Now she was eager to learn how to write properly.

The doorbell rang and the Forgotten almost jumped quite startled. Her father dried his hands and moved towards the wooden door. Although she had been lingering around the door beforehand Lysium slowly retreated towards Shiver now.

As Faiga opened the door an elderly man entered the building. Lysium had never seen such an old person before and wondered what was wrong with his face. But although it was wrinkled it showed signs of laughter and happiness. The old eyes gleemed with a funny spirit as he greeted Faiga and patted his shoulder. Lysium shoved the diary onto the table and picked up Shiver instead who dropped a bit of pancake. Mmhph...

The daemon wanted to protest, but as he noticed Lysium's nervousness he stayed quiet. "This is Mr. Studium, Lys. Please be nice, he will be your teacher from now on." Faiga mentioned and helped the man to sit down on a chair. The toddler eyed him curiously and was about to greet him as the older one chuckled and shook his head. "Call me Oliver, don't listen to that one here!" He pointed at Faiga and smiled at the young girl.

He was so heart-warming that she felt comfortable at once and sat down on the chair, placing Shiver onto her lap. "I will. This is Shiver. I am Lysium." She wondered if he didn't like cats and would dismiss Shiver. Biting her lips nervously she didn't have to wait long until Oliver answered. "Nice to meet you, Shiver and Lysium. I bet you would like Shiver to be around when we are learning, but he has to behave, alright?"

Lysium nodded and Shiver was released to jump onto the table. The daemon sat down on the wooden surface and started to lick his paw. He didn't think that writing was that exciting, but he would still stay close to his Forgotten. "Can you show me how to write in here?" The girl asked and shoved the book towards the old man carefully. With a smile he nodded and looked at the precious cover. "Of course. But we will start with a bit of easier practicing before!"

Fish are friends not food!....Wait..Whut?

Playdate with Fawkes ( Sika-chan ) and Elias ( Huni Pi )

{The small family had made today their official "day out," and said day out was to be spent at the local park. His brother's loved the park, and to an extent so did he, however, Fawkes wasn't really in the mood for playing today. An odd sight to be seen.

As they arrived at the park his brothers had taken off in different directions of the park, basically making it impossible for Fawkes to find a quiet spot on any of the play sets. He huffed slightly as his hand absentmindedly went up to pet Rouge's head, scratching behind her pointy ears. The fox's head had become more of a worry stone for the boy, but the fox hardly minded.

< What's wrong?> She purred gently into his mind.

He shrugged and started walking towards what he figured to be a pond, only barely acknowledging his mother's calls of being careful as she sat on a bench close by.

" In a mood I guess."
< Like that's anything new.>

How long had it been since Elias was last at the park? While he had enjoyed his visit to Silar, he was far more at home here in Gaia. After all, he emerged in Gaia, so it was only natural he felt an affinity for this world. He was being cooperative today, quietly letting his aunt Huni put him in his stroller (he had learned that being in a stroller wasn't so bad).

Uninhabited toddled after them, managing to keep up despite her awkward gaits. The daemon chirped and squawked in delight and excitement. Parky parky parky~ she chirped to Elias.

They arrived at the park not long after leaving their home. At first Elias wanted to go to the sandbox, he had met Fray there and hoped he'd meet the other boy again. But upon seeing only unfamiliar faces, Elias squirmed that Huni take them towards a more secluded and quiet area of the park.

As they wheeled about, Elias spied the pond. The ripples in the water seemed to hypnotize him, drawing him towards it like a moth to flame. He didn't quite know why. The sentiments was shared by his daemon.

Habi had begun tugging at the stroller to make it go faster and started pecking at the straps. She wanted her bonded free so they could both play near the waters.

And then they spotted Fawkes and Rouge.

Huni smiled and carefully lifted Elias out of the stroller and lowered him just a few feet away from the pond's edge. "Be careful, okay? I'm right here." she promised and sat down by a nearby tree.

Elias and Habi first stared at the other pair, perhaps they were why they felt so drawn towards the small body of water?

Careful, very careful, Shiver. Lysium demanded and made sure that the small daemon didn't kill the leaves they had collected. They had a lot of different colours, so she was specifically proud of the great variety they had been able to find.

Her teacher smiled gently. He was an old man, with strange stripes on his cheeks, but quite a lot of heartwarming dimples. Following the toddler through the park he enjoyed the last rays of sunlight. It would be winter soon and so he had told the girl to discover the different species of trees and the wonderful colour spectrum around.

Shiver carried the load Lysium was so proud of more than carefully in his mouth. He had ripped a red leaf just an hour ago and the girl had been so upset with him that he didn't want to do so again. Still he kept looking for interesting places. I see waterplace. He let her know.

Lysium stopped and looked towards the small pond. Other children seemed to be around and one of them had a familiar touch. Somehow she felt drawn to them and she wanted to get leaves from the water plants. If there were some. After making sure that her teacher settled down on a bench in the sun, she hushed Shiver towards the new people. She always liked him to meet others first and he didn't mind.

Hello. What are you doing here? The cat asked the other daemon mentally while he toddled towards them. The leaves in his mouth made him look like a bad Halloween joke.

Habi tilted her head upon hearing Shiver. He sounded familiar, she was certain she had heard his voice before. Her wings unfurled as she laid eyes upon the feline daemon. "Fwiendly!!!!" She squawked back in delight. Tugging at Elias' sleeve with her beak, she began to motion towards Shiver, the hodge-podge daemon seemed oblivious to Lysium and the other pair.

Elias, however, was not as unobservant as his daemon. He peered towards Fawkes and Rouge a little warily before canting his head towards Shiver and Lysium in the distance. He knew them both, didn't he?

Fawkes wobbled to the pond's edge before plopping down on the soft grass. He brushed his long, auburn hair out of his eyes as he stared down into the water with a small huff. He liked this pond, not just because it was secluded, but because it always seemed to have really bright orange fish in it that liked to swim up to the surface and watch him. But one thing he didn't like about the pond was that it was so clear that it acted as a perfect mirror. The child frowned as he caught sight of his reflection and quickly shook his head to the side, his hair yet again falling in front of his face and covering the scars along his face.

Rouge frowned, wrapping her tail around her charge's neck in a way of a comforting hug. She never liked when he got in his moods, but she really couldn't do anything either. Before she had a chance to even think of a way to comfort him, her ears perked and rotated back at the sound of others approaching them.

The small fox poked her head out from the curtain of Fawkes' hair, peering at their new visitors. She wasn't too sure what to say nor was she usually the one who introduced them to strangers. That was Fawkes' job, not hers. She huffed and purred into his mind.

< We have visitors kiddo.>

Fawkes turned slightly and eyed the children and daemons that had 'snuck up' on him. He blinked curiously, but this was barely seen as he hid his face in the shadow of his hair.

Uh oh. Bird. Shiver's eyes grew wide and as Habi even squeaked "Fwiendly!" he was about to turn around and run. It was that moment when he recognised the other daemon. Carefully carrying the leaves he moved a bit towards the friend and smiled mentally. Yeah, we know us, don't we? Who's that though? You know?

The daemon eyed the fox and its Forgotten curiously. Lysium followed slowly and made sure that Shiver didn't hurt the leaves. Peeking at the pond she noticed that Fawkes didn't seem too happy. She sometimes wasn't happy too, so probably it was normal. As Shiver seemed much to excited about meeting Habi again Lysium greeted Elias politely. "Hello. We are looking for leaves."

There was actually a pretty one right beneath Fawkes, but she didn't dare to go there. Still she glanced at it once in a while.

Elias broke into a smile as he recognized Lysium and Shiver. They had grown bigger! And Lysium could walk and talk out loud! He felt a twinge of envy, wishing he had such mobility and eloqution but at the moment he was still unable to express himself besides the odd syllable here and there. He could stand, barely, supported only by Habi or any stationary object.

When told their purpose for visiting the park, Elias began to scan his surroundings. He wanted to be able to do something for Lysium, as a sort of commemoration of their reunion. Leaves... leaves...

There were lots of them, but they were mostly dried up and torn in place or had been half eaten by insects. Elias noticed Lysium glancing towards the other pair of Forgotten and Daemon, did she know them he wondered. Until the particularly intersting leaf drew his attention and he realized what the older girl was looking at. Well, he started to crawl towards Fawkes and Rouge, eyes focused on the leaf.

Habi's tail wagged, sprinkling dust and dirt everywhere behind her. "You from rest'rant! Me Habi! Habi no know them. Nope. No know. Want me go ask?" She offered, cawing brightly. She glanced over to where her bonded was and saw him approaching the pair. "Yay! Elias help make fwends!" She cheered to Shiver, adoration in her wide, bright eyes.

Pumpkin Patch

...

{"I want to be a witch." The Forgotten Document declared and Shiver nodded quite excitedly. Faiga looked through the steam which had its origin in the mug before him and blinked twice. She hadn't met other kids without him yet and still she knew about witches and other things he had never told her about. It had to be...

"Oliver and I read a story about a witch." Lysium concluded his line of thoughts and wondered about her father's state of mind. Didn't he know about witches at all?

Before Faiga was able to add any questions about the realisation of such costume the toddler continued the presentation of her ideas. Shiver had been rambling inside her mind to have the coooolest idea ever and he wanted to be a colour changer like Stealth. Lysium had promised him that he indeed would change his colour, but her tricky mind had made up another costume for him. She wanted him to be a walking pumpkin, because the little witch had talked about pumpkins as well. Soo....

"Shiver wants to be a pumpkin." The daemon protested at once. No, no, no! Wrong! I wanna be like Stealth. Lysium ignored the cat and instead smiled at her daddy quite pleased. Shiver pouted and dropped his ears. The toddler was sure that he would come to like her idea, it always took him some time to appreciate her genius.

Faiga scratched his head and nodded. "We'll see what the tribe people are able to make or what kind of costume I can get at a store." The father smiled and watched Lysium nipping on her hot chocolate. "Are you sure you don't want to be a chocobo?" The toddler's death glare proved him wrong.
