Hadithi laughed. "Well put, well put.. you're right in that size does not matter, and it isn't as if I have ever been alone out here." He smiled, thinking of the other voices that surrounded them even now. He gave Misae a slight nuzzle under her cheek, eyes turning once more to Kere's display. It didn't bother Hadithi at all to see an adult acting in such a manner--he did that quite often himself, after all. He did laugh, though, a nice sound free of any mocking. "Indeed, Muses are something that will choose you, and teach you on their own will... you just have to listen."
He smiled, looking about the cave, ears cocked for the slow, gentle melody the rock hummed. "The storm would wash you right away at the moment, but even now in these caves you can just listen. The Rhythm of the Storm is a powerful and beautiful one, and each time it rolls through its different."

All he had to do was listen? Well, that seemed easy enough in theory, though he suspected there was more to it than that. Making himself more comfortable on the cave floor, Kere half-closed his eyes, ears swiveling to listen to the wind blowing outside. Beyond the wind he could hear fat drops of rain hitting the trees and bushes along the path from the shore.
He found himself wondering if and when a Muse found him, what would it be?
Shaking his head lazily, he turned it to watch Haidithi and Misae. He rather thought they would make a good pairing someday.
"Forgive my asking," he began softly, "But how do you know for certain a Muse has found you? If you can hear the music in everything, how do you distinguish what's a Muse and what is just background music?"

"The changing beat..." breathed the female, "Is precisely what makes it all so beautiful; it's like the beating of a heart. The heart of the storm, just like our own hearts, where the beat is never the same," she closed her eyes then, lifting her head, "Just listen; listen sharp, listen... don't listen to me, but to the sound around us. One of those sounds will eventually tug at your heart more than others," she explained, her red eyes still closed, "It sings in a different way; it reaches you, deep within your soul, like a tug at the pit of your stomach, and somehow, you know that's it. It's what you were looking for, without a doubt. It must be it."
Allowing Hadithi to nuzzle her cheek, the lioness smile, however, she seemed intent on remaining blind to the world around her. Her ears however, pivoted, left and right, swirling around like radars, "I hear the wind above all else, always, you could say... it is my muse. It's always guided me; guided me here," finally opening her eyes she graced Kere with a sweet smile, "I'm not one that was brought up here, by any means, but... if it's anything like I think it is; all you have to do is listen and wait. You'll know when the time comes, hmmm?" she turned to Hadithi for confirmation.
Much like the males, Misae was childish, and the fact the storm stirred outside seemed to grant her energy, making her movements, as short and smooth as they were, something akin to small bursts of energy. However, for whatever reason, and despite her younger age, she was also the more collected of the three. It was hard to read her feelings on her face; all what was obvious was the joy there, however, beyond that, it was hard to read her, for whatever reason, "Maybe your muse is not within the rhythm of the storm; it's song is softer than the rain outside, and it's suffocated. Maybe you will have to wait till tomorrow to hear it, but... it's there. It's always there."

Hadithi nodded in turn. Everything Misae said was true, of course, though she had a tendency to relate more to song than he did. Hadithi's thing was, of course, stories--but that was logical given his position. He brushed aside another thought; that would come later. Instead, he added to her words, "That is one way people find themselves Chosen, others simply are told. The Ocean told me that I belonged to it, though I had been long in search of my specific Muse. It can take quite some time, many moons or even seasons, for your Muse to claim you, or for you to find it, however it may happen. When it does, however, you will know without any doubt. There are obvious signs, of course, such as that your Muse will tell you your True Name, if it is different from the call name you now possess. I used to be called Blue Star, until the Ocean called me Hadithi."

Blinking slightly at the idea of being given a name by a Muse, Kere left off studying the two before him and resumed simply listening to the rain. There was a sort of music, he thought, in the sounds of the storm.
As for the length of time it could take, he only considered that good sense. After all, how could a Muse or even a lion be certain unless time and thought were given over to the hunt?
Twitching his nose, he wondered if it were safe to go outside so long as he stayed beneath the trees? It had been a long time since he'd played in the rain.
"You know this place better than I, Hadithi, sir. How often does it storm like this?"

As Kere asked how often it stormed, Misae flicked an ear towards the cave opening, slowly turning her head to follow the direction, watching the droplets of water play their music. Her paws, outstretched before her, slowly curled and hid under her chest, her white pelt fluffing out, making her look somewhat bigger than she rightfully was.
It was, after all, their conversation, and a question addressed to the king. She wished not to butt in; she'd done enough of that today anyhow, she thought with a chuckle. However, it was during her silence that a thought crossed her mind, and thus, unable to keep her paws to herself, the lioness sat up, her front paws stretching up till her right one was placed directly over Hadithi's blue star, her eyes shinning with mirth for some odd reason, "I can see why they'd call you Blue star; there's a start on your forehead.... what does Hadithi mean?"
She didn't mean to be rude, or otherwise cross a line, however, it was in her nature to be playful, not to mention inquisitive... and the question had just randomly popped into her mind, demanding to be answered, "My name is Misae, but the wind once told me... that my eyes were a drop of blood over the freshly fallen snow. My father later told me that he thought that 'rose growing upon fallen snow' was more accurate though," she seemed proud to be able to add to the conversation, and it was only then that she retreated her paw from Hadithi's head, smiling an apology, for reasons best known to herself.

"Oh, they come and go. Not so often as to hurt us, but not so infrequently that we forget them," Hadithi chuckled. "Its a delicate balance, but left to its own the Weather knows what it is doing. Its only when one tries to interfere that they become truly dangerous... so its just common sense to get out of their way."
Hadithi nodded sagely right as his forehead was attacked. He blinked at that, somewhat surprised, but not offended. "Well, Blue Star was my call name... and yes, I suppose it is obvious. "Hadithi" means a "story" or a "legend." Since I'm... well.. supposed to be the Ngaolinda, the Storyteller, it makes sense." He'd heard the story the fallen snow many times now--it seemed to be something Misae was very proud of as she continued to mention it every time he saw her--yet he still smiled at her and looked fascinated, even though he didn't exactly respond. After all, it was a true statement, and their present company would not have heard it yet.

"What is snow?" Kere asked, ears perking forward curiously. He'd never heard of such a thing before.
Storing the information about the storms in the back of his mind, he waited expectantly for an answer, hoping that his constant questions would not annoy his hosts.

"It is a cold thing," came Misae's voice as she turned away from the storm to offer the dark male a smile, "It is water turned cold. Turned ice," she explained, motioning slightly towards the mouth of the cave, "It falls from the sky, just like rain. And it's white... I've never seen it though," she seemed almost thoughtful for a moment, a humming noise made at the back of her throat before she shook her head, "I think I was told that Misae... means white sun. But I forget what my full name means. Misae 'dulu; I've no idea. Only my mother knows, where ever she is."
Smiling towards the males, she looked one last time towards the mouth of the cave, "I'm going to go sleep for a bit," she breathed, red eyes narrowing, "I feel the winds of change; something's going to happen soon," this said, the lioness stood up, stretching her muscles to the very tip of her tail, "Change is good, though it might take it's followers far... I smell it in the wind," a pause, "It's a good smell though... it's sweet. Gentle. All will turn out good," those that knew her enough were used to her strange almost cryptic predictions, even when she herself, wasn't entirely aware of what she saying, however, it was possible these two males weren't. It was possible her words were only understood as complete gibberish.
Another pause followed, after which the pale lioness shook herself and slowly reached up to brush the side of her head against Hadithi's mane; it was a gentle movement, sweet, the care she felt for him obvious even in such a short moment, "I will see you... later," she said as she smiled, pulling herself away to sink deeper into the cave, curling her small form into a ball.
Amusingly enough, Misae was asleep within bare seconds after her words to Hadithi, her breathing even in the darkness that shrouded her.

Hadithi returned the movement with a nuzzle to her head before she left his side. Oh he wished she'd chosen to sleep against him again, but he wouldn't dare suggest it. Besides, she was already asleep. Her words weren't those that he understood readily, but nor did he think her insane. The wind spoke more readily to her than it did to him, especially when it was blowing so furiously outdoors.
After watching her for a good while, he turned his smile back upon their other companion. "She explained it better than i could--I've only seen snow once and far too long ago to describe it accurately. It is very cold though."
Giving a stretch and a yawn, hadithi lowered his head onto his paws, "Though I think the Lady has a fine idea there. This storm will last a good bit longer, and the night grows long. A little sleep would be in good order, i think."

"I think you are correct sir," Kere murmured softly, not wanting to disturb Misae's rest. Standing, he moved closer to the mouth of the cave, wondering if it was safe yet to return to the little clearing he'd come to think of as home.
Not yet, he thought, listening to the wind blow. Still, he couldn't very well stay here. He'd intruded enough on his host's time. Better brave the storm after all. He thought that he'd stay relatively safe so long as he didn't leave the jungle growth.
"Thank you for your time, Hadithi, sir," he spoke softly, thoughtfully. "Rest well."
