((Sorry it took so long. Internet has been out until about a half hour ago in the apartment.))
"Riken! If you left the safety off again!" Remus's voice came in from the back door as it shut. "What happened?"

"You should make sure I can't here your secret plans before you whisper them to others." Lotan came into view, currently in his human form. He turned to Merlin. "Call it what you want, we'll see you Saturday night."
He gave a respectful nod to Vincent. Vincent was one of the few other leaders that didn't generally cause him undue stress.

Kari, although not the demented being of before, was still born with a sense of rebellion and on countless occasions acted out just to anger Dorien and her mother as well, but now was not one of those times. She liked wearing such clothing even when taught not to for its easy manuverability in combat as well as the affect it had on the more modern men of the country. If she had trained with Dorien wearing this...he probably would have gave her more than just a few wounds.
Eyes of ice aimed rays of fake innocence towards Magnolia as she spoke, "Excuse me mother, but I don't understand...hav eI done something wrong?" Tyran shook his head in silent wonder at her antics, You know one day you won't be able tp get away with that act. Wounds or no.
Well, if you would ask her about Signet already, I'd get away with it now
Tyran held back his laughter before becoming serious once again, "Mother...I wish to go to Signet. I have a promise I must keep."
Just then Dorien entered the kitchen, the look of amusement in his eyes showing his mental laughter at his daughter's innocent words, but the looks on both Tyran and Kari's faces cut that amusement short. No.
--
Seth arched an eyebrow at her well acted innocence, but she had learned well how to artfully change the subject since they had been together. And what a subject it was...
"Coming right up!" was his answer followed by rapid footsteps
--
Patience is a word I wish I knew well. was Vincent's only reply before he was attacked by one of the more annoying Leaders of the Ten, but she wasn't annoying as most. Just...unsettling.
"Aurora...you do realize we are meeting with the human leaders and other supernatural beings today, and that jumping upon my back might not gie them a good impression..." he railed off as she walked off, sighing slighlty before nodding to Lotan, "Please calm her down until he meeting is over. I have more than enough on my plate since the others are late as well..." he sighed, closing his eyes before the familiar form of Milan walked into the meeting room with Ashra at her side followed closely by Emit. Well, the others are here..now that only leaves five more...
--
Remus would meet the narrowed eyes of his wife as she lifted a revolver into the air, "Remus Sec, why was he training in the house..." Riken chose this time to slip into another room and quietly close the door.

Magnolia stiffened and was silent a moment. Things were happening all at once. She turned towards Tyran, We'll discuss that later. Then she turned to Kari, Return to your room and when you come back, have some actual clothes on. Then to Dorien, And you....her features softened and she chuckled, You have growth on your leg. She commented, deciding to ignore Dorien's protest for now, as she'd said to Tyran, they would all discuss the issue later.
I'm not growth, I'm Marguerite! The youngest protested with a smile.
"Same difference." This from the twins simultaneously.
"I saw that!" Marguerite pointed accusingly at her older brothers, scowling harder when they simply smiled and shrugged at her, their movments in perfect sync.
Magnolia gave them long suffereing looks.
~~~
Aurora wasn't paying Vincent any attention.
Merlin chuckled and sat back and waited, peeking her fingers in front of her, eyeing all the occupants of the room cloesely, her features bloomed into a warm smile when she saw Emit, standing to give him a quick hug and admire his attire, "I'm always surprised to see you in one piece. Women these days are very aggressive and you look good enough to eat."
~~~
Upstairs, in Seth and Obsidian's new house, the bed got a work out.
((XD))
~~~
Sable stepped off the bus with a sigh, hoisting her duffle bag higher on her shoulder. She'd made it, she'd taken a big step and she wasn't feeling at all like hoping right back on that bus and scampering away with her tail between her legs back to that little town in the boonies. She sneezed as diesel fumes filled her nostrils Wrinkling a straight bridged nose, she walked away from the bus and the bustle of the bus station and started down the street. She'd saved up enough money money to either find some cheap apartment to rent or some hole in the wall motel to stay in until she found a job with one of the Bond offices here. She'd been searching the internet and found a few agencies that looked promising. She was tired tonight, though, a motel it was, a motel and.....oooh, chinese takeout! She smiled and trotted across the street, her movements athletic and easy. The tantalizing smells making her stomach rumble, "Hmmm, Welcome to Signet." She murmered to herself with a crooked smile.
[lol Wow...]
Tyran nodded and sat down in Kari's place as she reluctantly moved to her room, dodging evil glares from Dorien as she did so. Tyran himself did not look at his father until the subject was changed. The Leader still looked adamant about his decision, but atleast he was slightly distracted with the younger siblings for moment.
Dorien didn't reply to either statements, deciding it would be best not to speak to the boy until after his dealings with the Ten. Speaking of which... The meeting is already beginning...I must go. he finally said before fading away without a goodbye, a sure sign that wasn't in a good mood.
Tyran sighed before his eyes hardened, looking away from the spot Dorien had been to the window nearby.
-
Emit chuckled lightly and returned the hug warmly, I've had close calls, but the demon from before tops them all. he answered, speaking of a certain inccubus they all knew and the good looking one feared, I can handle anything else but him. He glanced at the impatient Vincent and chuckled once more, He was early..wasn't he...
Vincent glanced their way, "Emit...I don't like our tone." Emit only grinned in reply.
--
"Do you have any last words as the Lotus second in command?" a soft voice said as two grey eyes met hardened brown ones.
"It wouldn't make a difference. My fate is sealed."
"Very well then. Salen, your title is hereby stripped from your person and you life considered forfeit from here on after. You are exiled from the Lotus territory and will be killed on sight if you choose to show your face here or Signet again. Get out of my sight and do not look back. You are a Lotus no more..."
The man known as Salen slowly stood up and bowed before walking out of the Lotus base, all eyes watching even as the doors closed behind him.
Salen slowly opened his eyes and slowly sat up, his gaze dark as the sun slipped through the venetian blinds and marked his body with slanted shadows. But as always, the shadows never hid the scar in chest, the mark Lina's arrow gave him on that night. Even in comeplete darkness he was sure that the remaining light from that arrow would give it a shameful glow.
He quietly slipped off the bed, his feet barely making a sound as he went through his usual rounds of waking up and getting prepared for the day..however uneventful it may be. There was rarely a time that the only thing to spice up his life was training and the weekly trips to the store, and the only reason he did that was because he hoped to gain news of things going on around him. And maybe a way to end his disgrace...
A streak of silver traveled through the air as Salen trained, his movements fluid and barely seen because of his speed. He attacked the air, traveling across the large training room within his apartment, the look in his eyes the same as the training sessions from before, hard and determined. He was going to win. He would win. He had to wim! But for what he didn't know...
He lifted his katana into the air, turning it to pin his invisible enemy to the ground, but thought of memory of the same blade peicing the altar force him to stop. Moneko's tomb...
The katana slowly resheathed itself as he walked away.
"Awww..." This from Marguerite as he faded away. She was soon standing by herself. She pouted for a few moments before moving to the next best thing. She proceeded to clamber into Tyran's lap, snagging a half of sandwich and biting into it, "Who you have to see in the Signet, brother?" She asked, showing a peek of her uncanny shrewdness. Magnolia sighed, watching Dorien fade away, "If you two still want the bowl, you may have it--" The twins high fived. "--Once you've eaten lunch." Magnolia continued then turned away and began cleaning the other dishes and the mess she made while baking and getting the sandwhiches together. She had to pause, though, she'd forgotten to get the drinks out. One of the maids made a very tastey iced tea and there was a pitcher in the ice box. She pulled it out and pulled down some cups, handing the pitcher to Latimer, "Pour for me." She then directed her gaze to Ripley, and you pass them out." She instructed then turned away again. ~~~ Merlin grinned her mirth at both of them. She'd been very expressive these past years since Vincent arrived, it had made her gang nervous for awhile, wondering if Merlin had maybe been possessed by someone and was no longer in control of herself. One foolish member was foolish enough that he'd nearly killed a young woman at the club, stupidly assuming that he wouldn't be punished for it. Merlin had come down on him as unexpectantly as a typhoon and was far more devestating. No one had complained as his ashes were blown away, on the contrary, everyone sort of gave a sigh of relief; there she was!
She moved to sit down again, sensing Dorien before she saw him, one side of her mouth quirked upwards, he'd been breeding like a rabbit lately, he was sure Magnolia was exhausted. She was anxious to meet the children, Dorien wouldn't let them come visit, no matter how much Merlin begged and pouted at him. She knew it wouldn't work, it only succeeded in irritating him and she loved needling him; he was so easy.~~~ She stopped and tilted her head, a new trail of interesting emotion distracting her briefly from her primary mission. She tilted her head as if listening then turned in a different direction and stood absolutely still. Pupiless, pale green eyes stared mistily at seemingly nothing. A few beats passed before she turned back and started on her original path. This place....was so full of life....so full of death. Conflict, rage, lust, with little beacons of happiness. A smile curved pillowly lips upwards briefly before the expression was gone, leaving serene blankess in it's wake, "Troden Sulla." She said it aloud with her human mouth with a not so human voice, Little brother, you're far too young to be giving me waking dreams or nightmares, she thought. And yet, here she was, investigating him. ~~~ Satiated with mixed vegetables and beef chow fun, Sable started walking again, looking for a motel to spend the rest of the day. Travelling on a buss was tiresome and even though she'd taken a nap, she was still weary, a little stiff too. The walk would do her good, work out the kinks in her muscles. Ah, yes, the noises and smells of the big city. She was so used to the pure air up in that town that Signet stank to her very sensitive nose. She'd get used to it, though, a couple days, max.
She found a Ramada Inn and checked out a room, trudging up to number 11, unlocking her door, looking around, giving an experimental sniff before heading to the bathroom. Correction, shower then bed, she thought, slipping out of her travel clothes and into the shower. A few minutes later, she was clad in simple white undies and a oversized t-shirt Mighty Mouse on it. Her hair was damp and clean, brushed back from her face. Lights out, she slipped under the tightly tucked covers and sighed, settling on the pillows and closing her eyes and knew no more.
Tyran sometimes hated that shrewdness, but he was smart enough not to show it. He looked at his sister for a few moments before returning his gaze to the window, "A woman that's been in my dreams..."
Kari soon walked forlornly into the kitchen, now adorned in more appropriate attire, although she did rebel just a little with the tribal markings on her arm and eyes. However she made such designs so fast the world will never know..., "Is this better..."
--
"Finally the elf arrives..." Vincent said as Dorien appeared with the usual glare pointed at all of them, "And as happy as ever..."
If that was an attempt at being funny, it didn't work Dorien answered just before sitting down and watching the shocked human being nearby. If the ears and pale skin didn't get to them, than it was the evil gaze and mindvoice that did. Let's finish this meeting quickly, I have more important matters to attend to... Just then Moneko appeared sitting beside Dorien in her a more matureform than her childish body. They ganced at each other for only a moment before Nadare and Fiora appeared as well.
"And now we can begin. We can start without the apprentices for the moment, but assure you they are on their way," Vincent said, gesturing for everyone to sit, "We have many matters to discuss..."
--
The streets of Signet City were busy as usual and with the newly added spice of supernatural beings walking freely with the streets, the tang of fear was as stong as ever. The people of Signet already knew they weren't alone, but denial is a powerful tool that helped them go through life on a daily basis and now that denial had been ripped away from them. It almost made Salen sorry for them. Almost.
He slowly walked through the crowd, his hooded body one of the countless many of Signet as he moved through the streets. He important to worry about than Signet's denial. Like meeting an old friend who was now an informant of corts. He was Salen's lifeline and he owed him alot, but Salen would repay the favor...
Magnolia didn't give Kari the satisfaction of seeing her reaction to her change of outfit. The girl was a bit of a headache sometimes but they had their moments together and she couldn't help but feel affection for the girl. She was sharp as a whip and had a dry sense of humor that was beyond her ears, then again, she was far older than she looked, sometimes she saw it in her face, the same with Tyran, though his was more subtle than his sisters. She really wanted to address Tyran's request, almost itched for it but she needed to wait for Dorien, she wouldn't handle the decision alone even if she'd already made up her mind to let him go, painful though it was.
~~~
Merlin eyed Dorien and decided to bother him later, crossing her legs again and putting her hands in her lap. She turned her attention to Vincent when he brought the meeting to order.

"He wasn't supposed to be..." Remus sat down in a nearby chair, rubbing his temples. "We were outside hitting targets. I assume he left the safety off again and was copying gunslinger crap from those movies he keeps watching. He was probably twirling the stupid thing like I told him not to when it fired..."

"Riken Sec!"
The poor child jumped out of his skin as he hear his mother's icecold voice through the door. He was a dead child and he knew it. Unless...
He glanced at the window that was filled with the glow freedom. A few seconds later his small form hopped out of the window and was already running down the alley.
A few minutes later Lina walked in only to see an empty room and an open window. She closed he eyes for the moment before turning around and glaring at her husband, "Remus..."

Obsidian stretched languidly and sighed settling back agasint Seth's side, "Well, that was musical." She murmered, smiling over at him.
~~~
The mountain of sandwiches of were gone. All six of them had sat around the table and made the sandwiches diminish until Latimer snagged the next one right when Tyran was reaching for it. He grinned cheekily at his older brother, split the sandwich in half and handed the other half to his brother.
Magnolia sighed and resisted the urge to roll her eyes, "Is everyone full or shall I make a few more?" She asked, finishing off her tea.
"I smell the brownies." Maguerite replied.
Magnolia smiled, They're almost done, my dear.
"Can I have milk with mine?" She asked.
If you like.
The three small men came upon two almost normal looking people of the street, except for their matching attire of coarse.
"So, thier finally back eh? and it took them just over 4 years too. Tell me Torrent, did you make sure your brother bathed?" The small one with long, dark, blue hair spoke with a slight grin, "I made sure he because clean anyway. I'd drug his food and clean him in his sleep." "What? I knew I wasn't getting quite as dirty as I should have been!" the other man spoke now, but quiter than the first. "I see there is someone with you that I have not met. yet he seems slightly familiar." "Well you do know my ancestor from about 60 to 61 hundred years ago. Torrent here. My Name is Shock Matrix. Who are you?" "I am Aron Nescar, and this very loud man here is my brother, Roma. I am to assume they'd picked you out of the other dwarves to bring back for a reason?" "He has inhereted special powers, by the same genetic trait that Torrent and I share." "alright, well what does he have? can he control fish or something?" "He commands lightning as though it and his heart were connected... probably are."
Quinn had been resting in Signet City's great Clock Tower, meditating on what was happening in the world. Several figures interested him. Salen, a man he never knew, was one of the most intriguing. He had been banished from Signet City, yet he spent most of his time cloaked and walking the streets. Troden, now a much calmer person but still just as ruthless, carried on his days. What was he looking for? Remus and Lina, now having a multitude of issues dealing with their children. But what else would be expected from new parents, correct?
The world was an interesting place with many interesting people and things to see. The Jewels of Life resting upon the Scales of Time proved that to Quinn time and time again. Each day that he meditated, it never ceased to amaze him. He never failed to learn something new.
But now was not the time to meditate. The child was now late for a very, very important meeting, one Ashra told him not to miss under any circumstance. But Quinn still found it hard to pull himself away from his new found responsibility. The thought of himself being late actually brought a smile to Quinn's face. That time fifty years ago, he had questioned just whether or not he would be capable of life as a balancer.
When he reached the base of the clock tower and opened the door leading out, Quinn heaved a sigh and ran a small hand through his ghostly white hair. He enjoyed the rain, but he couldn't very well show up to the meeting wet. It would look horrible, especially since all ten were going to be there. He's have to magic it.
How Depressing. I had started to enjoy walking everywhere. Was the only thought that crossed his mind before he Aparated to the Courthouse where the meeting was being held. At least, it looked like a courthouse anyway. Ashra had said something about city hall and pointed out a building, but Quinn wasn't paying much attention at the time. It looked like a courthouse, so that's what he called it.
And quietly he slipped inside. A handful of humans inside recognized him for who he was, or possibly what he was, and immediately guided him to the meeting room. With a quiet thank you, he again opened a door and passed the threshold. The door didn't make a sound though. It was Quinn's doing, because he did not want to distract whoever was speaking with tasteless noise.
Seems I'm not too late after all. Quinn's voice was quiet in Ashra mind. He chose a seat across the circle from the child leader, as was customary in his culture with any teacher and student. But at the same time he was a fair distance back from everyone. With a few minor spells, he conjured a handful of artifacts that would record quite literally everything said in the room, whoever said it, with what emotion, and why. Quinn had been proclaimed bookkeeper for the Ten, I didn't miss anything important did I?
His final action was to sit on the air. He needed no chair, because he simply used his magic to bend the air to his will. It was much faster, and quite simple.------------------------------------------------------------- Mira and Stefan Siddel had been in Signet for five years, doing everything they could to pick up a trace of Quinn. His magic was everywhere in the city. It radiated so powerfully that it almost made Mira ill, she wanted to see her little brother so badly. But Quinn had fallen off the face of the earth.
Was it a stroke of luck, or fate?
Mira and Stefan had been exploring an area that they had not previously been due to the high concentration of power. But for some reason, either the power had weakened or it had at the very least shifted. It suddenly felt safer. The rain started, and Mira pulled out a beautiful, Japanese crafted umbrella that both she and her husband fit comfortably under. At about the same time, they passed an alleyway. It was the alleyway that Riken had just leaped into.
The young child was so scared that he nearly ran Mira down; he hadn't been watching where he was going real well. Mira heard him coming though, as did Stefan, and a combination of her sidestepping and him grabbing the child stopped the boy cold.
"Woah there." Stefan said, keeping a firm grip on Riken's collar, "Where are you running off to in such a hurry? It's raining, kid. And you're hardly dressed to handle the rain."
Mira knelt down in front of Riken, smacking away Stefan's hand with a small smile as she did. Then her gaze shifted to the youngest among them. Her eyes had caring hidden in them.
"What's your name?" She asked him, the fluidity of her voice having the same calming effect as a running river in the forest, "I'm Mira. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Arcturus skated quickly towards the meeting place with the cloud of fog still enveloping him. While he hadn't been told the exact time, the auras he felt told him that there was definitely a meeting going on, and it was very likely he was a bit late.
No matter. I'll know what goes on thanks to Quinn, and thankfully he has always shown up at the appropriate time.
Unlike Quinn though, he never had problems with the rain. The fog that followed him seemed to always make him perhaps a bit more humid than most, but it had the added benefit of making sure he was never truly wet unless he jumped in a pool of water. Once he stood at the building's steps he allowed the fog to dissipate as he walked up into the main entryway and put on his best glare of ice daggers.
It was well-known by now that he didn't like escorts, but all the same he felt a need to show that he didn't want to be helped. He acknowledged the people in the room with a curt nod and then headed straight for the meeting room and silently walked in, leaning on the wall beside the door against his cane and appraising the room with his eyes slightly narrowed.
