When the one you love....his mind hazed a bit until she startled with pain. How long had it been? It seemed like just the night before, but it had been days. He braced her against his broad neck, breath quickening with her own. It couldn't be time already, could it? He glanced about to Natsiya helplessly, trying to remember what it had been like the morning the young stallion had come into this world.
Natsiya met his father's eyes with his own concern, and shook his pale mane. "Don't ask me. I wasn't paying attention when I was born."

Akila clenched her teeth and grunted again. "This can't be right...I don't know...there's nothing to put them in!" Scrunching her eyes shut, she silently pleaded to the foals within her. Just a little more time...I need just a little more time. They didn't seem very keen on listening, however. With a small squeal Akila reached around to snap at her side. "I just need a little longer!"
