"This stuff works for a lot longer," Dante said. "I'll admit that we have more basic ways of doing this--but Professor Prinwaltz wanted me to incorporate some magic into this."
Dante listened a moment. "...I suppose you could. But be careful--you can't submit most herbs in the same dosage, or you won't get the same effect. Adding a bit more, perhaps, couldn't hurt if it's not based on caffeine--too little and I'd rather not have a cranky Lorioth riding my robetails all night for making the potion too weak."
His eyes turned towards the ceiling thoughtfully. "...because the dragonbone and the unicorn blood were consentually drawn, you needn't worry about physical effects. I'd be more concerned about losing these ingredients--they need exact dosages or else your outcome might be different."
Dante nodded at the last statement. "It does seem a lot, but it's for a reason." Dante took out a small medicine cup--about the size of a "Coke" bottle cap--and held it out. "He needs to fill this halfway and mix it in with his morning drink--usually that will be sufficient to get him through a few weeks, provided he sleeps and eats regularly."
He paused, then pulled out a 32-ounce bottle with a clear liquid. "You'll need to mix them all in here--once it's done, it should be stored in a dark place. It does not need to be refrigerated--part of having so many magical ingredients is that it keeps the more natural ingredients from decaying and losing potency--or worse, gaining toxicity."
He paused and sighed. "I know this is terribly confusing...I think you'll be fine, though. I have confidence in you--and the Professors and I will be more than willing to help you."

The youth nodded as he listened, deciding against adding his own herbs, for he truly didn't know what the magical influence would have on them. The idea of a grouchy Lorioth made RuiZhi grin, nodding in complete understanding. Did Dante just crack a joke?
Exact dosages meant he'd have to make sure he had the right means of measurement. "Do they require a liquid measure thing, or will my herbal spoons and weight be okay?" The last thing he wanted to do was waste such a fascinating and rare material; less than that, he didn't want to lose Dante's trust in him. He wasn't entirely sure how he'd gone from trying to help the elven man to dabbling in magical concoctions, but he was going to put in 110% and do his best to help both men.
RuiZhi smiled calmly, nodding at Dante after his many pauses and instructions were finished. "It's okay...I wont do anything if I'm unsure. I'll ask." Part of him was growing quite excited at the prospect of learning something new, especially something that he might be able to utilize at a later date. He had no idea Big Sister Javelin was a magic-user, and he was extremely curious to see just what she would do; he made a mental note to watch carefully and ask Irame about it later.

Dante shook his head. "The measurements I'm providing you are exactly what you need--in the future you might need to pre-measure yourself, but for students still learning at the lower levels I'll measure these things out myself. If you'd like to practice you can pour them into your measuring cups. Just be sure it's big enough to hold the material."
Dante sat back and nodded approvingly. "You'll have to fill the bottle with water and mix it all in there--when it's done, he should have enough to last him for at least a few months, if he's conservative."
He handed Ruizhi a folded piece of paper. "Give these directions to Lorioth--they tell him how much he should take and when he should take it. Are there any other questions?"

RuiZhi shook his head, going over the contents with a critical eye. So, if the measurements were exact, he wouldn't have to worry about using too much or too little. It seemed all he was really going to do was mix the items and pay a visit to Big Sister. That didn't seem like something he couldn't handle.
His brown eyes looked over the elf curiously, wondering if he should ask why Lorioth needed such a potent and specially made brew for energy...but, ultimately, decided against it. He was just a student, and such personal affairs were not his business unless they chose to make it otherwise. The boy was just helping out, lending his aid, and nothing more.
"No, I think you covered it well, Heru Araquenosse." RuiZhi smiled warmly, taking the directions and giving a short nod. "Hmm, should I go get something to carry all of this in? I'd kick myself if I dropped any of it."

Dante's lips quirked up the tiniest bit, if a bit humorlessly. "If you say so," he said, voice not condescending but simply humored at the way the student was talking--it seemed as though there were several things he wanted to ask but had decided against. But he would not press it.
"I have a basket...hang on," he said, standing and walking to the corner of the room. He emptied a wicker basket of the quartz and other milky-white and clear precious and semiprecious stones, then brought it back to RuiZhi. "Bring it back when you are done with it, but don't feel too rushed."

An enthusiastic nod answered Dante's words, taking the basket with a quiet, "Thank you." RuiZhi carefully arranged the precious ingredients in the basket, making sure to put the instructions on the bottom where they could not be lost. Holding the goods in his arms gingerly, he gave a half smile to the Professor, bidding his farewell, "Thank you, Heru Araquenosse. I will do my best for the doctor." Part of him hoped he'd be able to deliver it, as he rather wanted to see the frail and timid man.
The boy turned towards the door, his mind going back to the ingredients and what each of them were, still amazed by such things. He wasn't particuarly watching his step and almost slipped, seemingly of his own two feet. RuiZhi caught himself quickly and easily, the basket quickly thrust against his body, looking around before glancing over his shoulder to Dante with a sheepish grin. Yeah, THAT would make the elven man confident in him!
Without another word, the student excused himself, eager to get started.
