She smiled, and her face lit up. She wished she could be of help, but she completely understood having to do things on their own. She smiled again and nodded.
"Of course. It is something you must do alone."
She flicked her tail and looked at him with brown chocolate eyes.
"What are friends for?"

Arsenic's whole expression changed to a mix between shock and delight.
"Friends?"
It had been a long time since he had heard the term 'friend' used indicate a relationship between him and another. Infact he couldn't remember one time he'd heard it since waking up after his nightmare so many nights ago. Funny how one word could make someones day so much better.

Marahute looked red, as her face flushed and she took a stricken look.
"Unless you dont want to!" She said quickly hoping he hadnt been insulted, though she was unsure of why anyone would be insulted by being friends with another.
She stomped a foot a little, just to move, because she realized she had been standing still for some time now, and that bothered her.
"Okay , so do you wanna be friends?"

Arsenic shook his head, he hadn't meant to worry her with his expression. I'm sorry! Of course I want to be friends! I was just shocked at first. You're the first to consider me a friend in a long while." He smiled reassuring and nodded his head. "Of course I'd like to have you as my friend."

"Well then, its all settled isnt it?" She asked, flicking her tail and giving him a grin.
"Friends are nice to have around. I dont tend to have many.. but I live with what im given."
She said.
She lived alone. She had no one around her. She lived in the very spot she was born in not long ago. She had never left, only to travel and see daddy.
So no, she wasnt used to having.. any friends.. at all.
