"That's all that matters in the end, if you end up with your true love. For most it doesn't happen, but for a lucky few it does." Baala doubted she'd ever find love in her life. It was likely that the love of her life could be right in front of her eyes and she'd shove them away from her. She was content with her few friendships... She didn't need love to be happy. Kudos to those who could find it and keep it, but she wasn't going to be one of those lions. Her life could go on well without love, and she would not end up being one of those lionesses who waste their whole life searching for something that may never be there, and may never have been there to begin with. "I got over it a long time ago. My father's gone and my mother's dead. I don't dwell on it too much."
She began to notice that the vegetation was growing less dense. In fact, she had been keeping a close eye on her surroundings, memorizing them in case she ever wanted to come back. She had noticed, in a way, that this was a path, that generations of lions, perhaps, had travelled on it before her. Most of the surroundings were the same, and even memorable trees could change. As long as she remembered this path, though ... Baala would have a way in and out of the Kusini, and the Kusini would perhaps never find out that she had been there before.
"Ah, thank you," she murmured as they cleared all vegetation. She walked on ahead of him, nodding her head in his direction as she passed. "Good bye, Njozi." It may be the last time she would see him, or it may be the first. Baala hoped that it wasn't the latter as she walked off across the plains.

Njozi watched as the lioness began to lope off in the direction of the rogue lands, eyes narrowing slightly. "Goodbye Nuksani," he said after her, standing there a few moments as she began to dwindle farther and farther into the distance. Once he was sure she was far enough away for comfort, he turned and started to head back into the woods.
"I hope, for your sake, you stay out," he said quietly as his figure disappeared into the shadows of the forest, "because the Kusini lands aren't always safe."
