Its Toei's hissatsu waza to get moms to watch with their kids.
SaiDaiOh just doesn't look like he belongs in gekirangers really and it looks boring in design.
I'm hoping they have it stop focusing around Ken as soon as this SaiDaiOh stuff gets resolved.
I disagree too with what is said about the decline. I thought boukenger ended very well while kabuto died off near the end. Though, Magiranger had a cruddy end in my opinion too. I guess all we can do is hope they finish it well. Honestly I didn't like Gekiranger at first. It has grown on me a bit but it is kind of boring out, but as it is Den-O is picking up. When Den-O got a bit boring, Geki was picking up. So to me, they have a somewhat good balance of things right now.

Kyoudai-chan: Actually, I mean't 'pretty boys' as in... they are starting to look... a bit too feminine recently... >_>; I grew up on 90's Sentai, and usually I see the guys as the 'strong-looking and handsome' types, with the 'pretty/cute boys' as support Rangers usually. Hikaru of Gingaman comes to mind, as an example. It's just a bit surprising for me to see that type play the Red roles, or even now, the villains. I don't mind if the guys were singers before (so as long as they have a good voice), it's just... there is something about hiring 'actors' from a boy band company that bothers me... because what I've seen, they seem to center so much on the looks that anything else gets thrown out the window. >_>; I'm kind of almost dreading how their voices will turn up if a Gekiranger image song collection comes up, and their singing doesn't match up.
And, actually, Rio there smiles a lot when he's not being 'Emo-Kuroshishi' off set. It's almost surprising, but not really.
Itami: I totally forgot about the Moms being involved in all that -_-; :gets reminded of watching the Hurricanger live show:
I have to agree with the way both shows seem to balance each other on 'getting good, getting boring aspect.' Though, I don't know why Den-O is entertaining me so much, when the Imagin's antics are pretty much the same thing. The reason I thought Sentai was losing was probably because I have a bit of a bad taste with some of the recent ones. I was getting into Boukenger, but then heard about the end of the Questers (Eiji) Arc and afterwards being lacking, that I got afraid about seeing that. Hurricanger, I was trying to get into, but just seemed too silly for me to finish, despite hearing the Raigers and Shurikenger Arcs being the better ones. Also... seeing a lot of extra mechas, that some didn't seem necessary. Basically, they start out good, and gets me hooked and wanting to know what happens, until the very end, like what the 90's Sentai did. Recent ones, I watch them, then something happens somewhere to make me stop watching it. The only 2000 series of Sentai I liked are Abaranger and Magiranger currently. Some of the others, I can't get a hold of to watch (and, no..can't download videos, since my laptop is a piece of junk >_>; ).
Actually I thought the opposite about Magiranger's ending: I thought it was nice, and was happy that at least one of the Hades Gods lived. Though, the most bad ending (though shocking) was Jetman's and I almost wanted to scream at them for doing that, despite it actually happening in the manga.
Ok... I think I'm going to quit the off-topicness and get back on track. >_>;
Anyways, I hope the focus on Ken ends after the arc... He'd better take on some responsibilities maturely, for a guy that has that 'special power' and is Shafu's prodigy... :sigh: I'm finding Long more interesting then he is... :finds out that motivation to watch Geki again:

Rio does some decent emo acting then. Just like Tendou somehow pulled off being Tendou despite the actor seeming the opposite of the character (from what i've seen anyways)
Den-O is entertaining me because they not only have the imajins antics but they did some REALLY good ideas this time with the concepts. Kabuto fell short on using all of what it could have, but den-o so far is embracing the idea as much as they can I think and thats why its more enjoyable. I just fear for the end.
Yeah they could have done more in boukenger with the questers against Eiji. Really, boukenger was a good series but I only say that since I had Kabuto to fanboy over until its end began to fail and Boukengers ending picked up and finished actually in a good way I thought. Hurricanger i'm still watching. So far its been interesting but i'm only half way and its starting to get a bit boring. Extra mechas are a problem too, yes. But then thats how they like selling toys. Gekiranger is doing the same thing really. I'm just glad they recycled gekitouja in a cool way.
I like hurricanger so far, abaranger was good(bad subs though), I liked Dekaranger but they could have done a lot more with it, Magiranger was good but that ending, Boukenger was decent but no ranger stood out, and so far Gekiranger is up and down for me but getting better over time.
I never saw jetman so I don't know how it ends. I was upset about magiranger though because of how they handled it. I think the main point where I lost it for magiranger is when they ditched MagiKing. They barely even tried with him, then were willing to give up so easily. Then they used that other mecha pretty much the rest of the time and I didn't like it much. They also stopped using new spells and finishers every episode. Then the end end everything just got cheesy. It was like watching a boring american show honestly. There was no fear of anyone being really hurt or any real consequence, just smiles and hugs to defeat the evil.
Yeah longs origins and true ability is interesting. I hear he might be the main bad guy of the show, like the last one they fight. It makes sense since I don't think the Kenma will last.

Now that it seems Rio and Mele are turning good (as shown by Toei's preview page for eps. 32-33), Long is looking more and more like the villain. First, he operates from the shadows, helping Mele attain Fury Confrontation Ki, and then comes out in front of the Kenma with no signs of servitude to any of them. Sorry if I'm ruining the plot. Fangirls are keen to spoilers.

I don't care about spoilers. I'm usually posting as if the people reading it have seen what i've seen anyways. As for Rio and Mele becoming good. They might do what they did in the movie. Rumor I hear is in a very soon episode we will see GekiRinTouja in the series. We will also see the new mecha soon but it looks ugly to me.

I really don't care about spoilers either, as it makes me wanting to actually SEE whatever happens (badly). Plus, I browse through the rumor mills on the other Toku sites anyways. >_>;
Oh Kyoudai, if you thought the singing in Magiranger was annoying... Try actually listening to both Kai and Tsubasa's character voices.. ugh.... they were terrible... ><;
Anyways... The episode with Mele and Rio 'in love' is probably going to drive the GekiShippers (if there are any) nuts or something... Either in a good, or bad way. The fangirl in my says, 'YES! Finally! Rio and Mele together!' when I read about it. For gosh sakes, it's the first time in Sentai history that the villains get some development (and obvious relationship).
And, god... want to see... GekiRinTohja! The DVD of the movie itself, I heard, isn't released until January or something... So, a special episode with them would be a good thing. I really, really, want to see RinLion and RinChameleon in action. I still think SaiDaiOh looks too similar to Magiking in some way.. >_>;

I look for spoilers. I don't mind them really. It has never bugged me in anything.
I just hope we get to see some more on Gou before it is all done and over. He still seems swept aside to me and might be kept that way. If you ask me his Shigeki should be able to steal more mecha too.
