I think they went too far with cutting off his BABY stuff and his personal website.

I have to agree. I mean all he did was smoke a little not go around kill people. It was unnecessary for his stuff to be removed from Baby and his personal website.

Okay, I'm going to be honest: I always thought he was weird and crazy. This comes as no surprise. haha.

@Catnap: I know, but I don't find that a good reason to mess up part of his income, you know? I mean, if I got in trouble for drugs, I don't want my sales to be ******** up, when I'm going to be paying for whatever fine I get and taxes aways afterwards. Lord knows how much money he have or might not have, but even then you shouldn't just do that, whether it'd be bad publicity or not.

I'd have to say everyone here has a very good and reasonable opinion about this matter. Personally, I think I'd have to agree with most of what everyone is saying.

I think hes a little eccentric...if you look at some of his pics in the Gothic and Lolita Bibles, he does look a bit....odd....in the latest one he looks like Mickey Mouse in plaid...but everyones different so whatever. It doesn't change the way I feel about his works.

While I don't have a problem with marijuana, I think it was unwise, to say the least, of Mr. Takemoto to break the law. No one can possibly commend him for that.

I mean, really.

rofl He probably started taking it when he was in California a few months ago! I lol'd when I saw the post on EGL LJ. xD

ilu Nobara. I wonder how he was acting for the policeman to be suspicious, though.

@Annai; Couldn't have said it better than myself.

-...quand le soleil sera couché dans ton âme froide.-

Thanks, I mean I really do hate his fangirl (and sometimes guys) so much. These people I mainly find them at cons when I'm doing Lolita panels and no matter how much you strangle them with sweetness they still act like retarded people.

lol, seriously. I never really liked the characteristics of an otaku/mana-fan/ w/e else. For some reason they all act a certain way that just seem kinda 'eh'. xD

Im a mana admirer, But im not retarded : ) Do i get bonus points?

Yeah, he is really weird, but I thought it made him more adorable, and interesting, because he was so passionate about it.

The war on drugs is doomed to failure when we have a government as corrupt as we do. Its not just our country, its any country. I throughly detest the fact that my rights can be completely under haiutus if an 'authority' believes that I have drugs on me. What happened to freedom to pursuit of happiness? I don't do drugs, but that doesn't mean others can't!

I feel for Takemoto-sensei because now his life is ruined over a teaspood of a dried plant.

What has come to this world?

JAPAN IS REALLY REALLY REALLY STRICT ON DRUGS

really it's the same as if he had 30 kilos of cocaine on him

his line with Baby has been suspended, his books are being pulled from bookstores, his website has been taken down, and i believe he will no longer have spreads in Kera or the G&LB.
for something like this, just about everyone he knows will desert him.
this could really effect the Baby store opening, for one. the store was going to be inside a VIZ media center, using his book Shimotsuma as the main selling point.
even scarier, with this much social ostracization, he could kill himself. suicide being the "honorary" way out.

i'm really worried about him ;____; i've met him before and he seems like such a sweetheart

Why feel sorry for him? He's an adult, he KNOWS pot is illegal and willingly carried it around. In public of all places! I mean, what the hell? How stupid can you be? If anything, he really just deserves to be punished for being so... well... dumb.

Drugs are stupid to begin with, anyway.

I agree with you, drugs are really stupid!

But that doesn't mean poeple shouldn't have the right to use them. I feel sorry because we are in such a prejudiced world now, that one bad deed can ruin a person's entire life! (see Alicedoll's post, I wouldn't be surprised either)

I just think that whether it's Japan or America we should have more open ideas about different lifestyles whether its drugs or alcolhol, or clothing choice!

Yes, he knowingly went against the law by possessing drugs, but we have to remember that this is someone that is an icon of the 'edge' of society. I'm sure that the years of being shunned or not taken seriously may have caught up with him, and perhaps he judges authority as a joke as some people do.

I don't mean to condone his actions, but I am questioning a society where 80% of women between 15 and 60 are molested on trains, yet time and manpower are being used to keep someone from smoking a stupid plant.

*stops ranting* (geh, no hard feelings, i just am not a complete fan of the totarion-like society of both America and Japan)

I agree with both Alice's posts. I mean how do you expect a person to better than themselves and overcome such a problem, by destroying their life and means to survive? I think that no person should ever face such a punishment as such because it's completely unnecessary. If this happened to me I would turn to them to drown out the depression of having my life destroyed by an over-bearing and unjust gov. I mean to think that someone deserves to have their life and name dragged through the dirt because they choose to do something so simple is ridiculous. Lots of people do this in the world so it seems overboard for that to happen to him.
