When I carried Kagome home for the first day, I was smiling. My house is relatively small, so I hoped she’d be happy here. She stretched out her little fingers towards me and I let her grab one of mine. She’s so sweet, and she makes some sounds every so often which I think means she’s trying to talk. Whenever I come home upset, she stays there with me, but she doesn’t cry. She has a lot of patience for a child. She does have her occasional crying fit, but she never screams. When she’s like that, I’ve leaned it’s best to let her finish it before comforting her. She sleeps a lot also, which is probably normal...

One time, I came home from work to find Kagome on the floor, playing with a necklace. It had a pink pearl on it. I’d never seen the thing before, so I wondered how she’d gotten it. When I tried to pull it away, she just cried. So, I let her keep it and she never lets it out of her sight. I know I should be more careful because she could choke on it, but she just keeps it on her neck and admires it. My only problem is what if she chokes on it while I’m not here? I hope this doesn't make me a bad parent...
I took it away in the end, just to be safe...

I know I should write more often, but I've been busy lately. Kagome is still sleeping a lot, but she’s also starting to crawl around a bit. She’s very determined to crawl everywhere, but she’s not that good yet. She usually makes it about ten feet before she gets tired and just stops. She’s such a cute baby! She laughs whenever I play peekaboo with her, it seems to be one of her favourite things. She can’t talk yet, she’s still too young. Changing her diaper isn’t a problem, but feeding her sometimes is. She’s a bit picky about what food. I give her. Oh well, she’ll get over it. I hope.

When was the last time I'd written in here? Anyways, Kagome is still a cute little baby. She crawls around a lot, and eats a bit more than she used to. Oh, and she learned to say her first word. It was a bit strange. I was standing up, looking at her playing with a stuffed animal. I couldn't figure out what she wanted by the strange noises she was making. So, she'd told me quite plainly to "Sit!" in a tiny voice. I smiled at sat down next to her to play with her. Kagome finally said her first word! She's so adorable! That's about it for now, I'm going to put her to bed.

Something really... strange happened. Well, first I'd decided to take Kagome to the zoo. It would be nice for her to get out sometimes. Once we got there, she'd tried to pull on Lucy's, another child from the ACC, hair. That's how I met Lucy and Rein, her guardian. I also met Axel and Aoxy, another guardian and child form the ACC. While we were there, Kagome's hand glow with some kind of energy and she managed to push me away. What's that about? I'll have to keep and eye on her to see...

Toddler Quest!
Written on April 22, 2008. Kagome's point of view:
Kagome was, in a word, bored. Her guardian said she'd be in the next door neighbour's apartment, and something about getting to know them. To Kagome, this meant she was alone for a bit. Thinking of something to do, the girl, growing slightly more each day, now managed to escape her crib and walked abound the house. Earlier today, her mommy had gone shopping with her. That was how she'd remember those items which mommy hid from her.
"Gaa!" She said, deciding that now would be a good time to find them. To start, the raven haired baby decided to crawl into the small kitchen. Everything was still quite big to her, and this would certainly be difficult. But she was determined to make these things hers. Kiarei had bought them on a spur of the moment, loving a sport which she caller archery. Kagome couldn't remember what they were, but they had looked interesting. When she'd tried to grab them, Kiarei had told her to wait until she was older.
Two of them had been fairly easy to spot. She saw them lying on the kitchen counter, the arrow hanging slightly off the edge. The other was the bow, a curved stick with a string on the end. Kagome had felt like she'd had them before, it was a strange feeling. She felt these things were important. Reaching up toward the arrow which was sticking out, she could quite get it. So, crawling back over, the little girl spotted a chair near the counter. She managed to stand up and balance herself, and she climbed onto the seat. If the process, she knocked over a bowl which was full of popcorn kernels and some popcorn. After she'd made it to the counter, the little girl got the items, crawled to her room and placed them on her floor.
There was still something missing. The shiny thing that her mother had taken from her not long ago. She wanted that to keep on her wall as well. Unaware of how long or short it was until Kiarei came home, she crawled into the bedroom, and took a look around. There it was! Only, it seemed impossible to reach. It was lying in the closet, on a high shelf. She could hardly see it. But Kagome was not one to give up. She really wanted the shiny necklace.
The little girl started grabbing onto the shirts that were on hangers, just below the shelf. She figured that she'd be able to see it better. It must have been sheer luck, for the string of the necklace got caught on one of the shirts and came down. Kagome had also taken this back to her room and put it with the others. The necklace glowed slightly, while when Kagome held the arrow, it's tip glowed as well. It was very pretty.
Mumbling to herself, she was disappointed. There didn't seem to be any of that sticky stuff she'd seen Kagome use near by. How was she suppose to get them on her wall now? Well, the stick's end seemed pointy... That would have to do. Climbing back into her crib, she had the necklace around her neck, the arrow in her hand and the bow around her small body. It was the only way she'd been able to get everything up with her.
Kagome was weak, as most babies her age were. It took her several tries to stab the arrow into the wall hard enough to make it stay. the, she placed the bow on it, as the as the neck lace. The hung down, and the bow even went half way into the crib. The girl giggled with pride at her accomplishment, not realizing how much trouble she'd be in, nor the mess left in the kitchen and bedroom...
((Kiarei will return in a regular journal entry, which I'll post tomorrow. I didn't want to add it here, in case that's not part of the quest. ))

Oh. My. God. What the heck had happened? I came home after leaving for a bit to find popcorn all over the floor and my shirts hauled down in my room. I ran to check Kagome, only to find she was in her crib. But there was an arrow drove into the wall, and a bow and her necklace dangled from it. I'm not even going to ask how she did it, but it had obviously been her. At least she wasn't hurt. I gave her a scolding look, and told her never to do it again. That's when I noticed, Kagome had grown! She looks like a toddler now, she's so adorable. When I had told her what she did was bad, she looked kinda of ashamed and said "Sowwy...". Oh well, I can forgive her. Hopefully this won't become a habit.

Written on June 11, 2008:Kagome tried walking today! As I was walking out of the kitchen, coffee in hand, I spotted her and Shinmaru in the living room. She was standing up, wobbling a little, with Shinmaru holding her hands and helping her walk. It was too cute for me to interrupt, so I didn't bother mentioning that Kagome was to go shopping with me today. It was until later that she remembered. I had to laugh as she walked into my room, upset. "Mommy! I missed mall. Sowwy! Can we go now?" I couldn't say no because she was giving me the look. The little devil- angel- whichever! So we put on our coats and went to the mall. I picked up a few groceries, a new outfit for Kagome, and that's when the inevitable happened. She found the toys. It wasn't as bad as I'd imagined. She walked in, found a little gem on a necklace that glowed a different color with her moods. I got it for her and she smiled up at me. Things are so much funner with her as a toddler. Mood: Happy
