She laughed, letting the words slide off her like water off a duck's back. Dia didn't take kindly to insults, but she was more than certain her figure was trimmer than the bloated mare's in front of hers.
"Darling, if you dont believe me... why don't you step sideways into the stream and look for yourself? Any sensible meat eater would start to drool at the sight of you and your plumpness. Why... I just may have to chase you, now that the score's been evened. I have a feeling I'd have no problem catching up to you now at all."

Rather than do directly as the other mare said she simply gave her reflection a sidelong glance. She could tell even without turning parallel to the stream below her that her shape had shifted... But that didn't mean anything, did it? But what if...
It was all she could do to keep the chill that raced down her spine from being visibly noticed. Her ears flickered as she thought on words that had passed between she and Mad H. Games... How she played them too often and certain games were bound to land her in trouble, especially if played with others.
Games.
What if she wasn't the only one involved in this one? What if her life wasn't the only one she was risking in playing this intricate game of words with the other pink mare? Would Mad H ever forgive her for harming something of his?
She stepped back, seeming almost youthful in her uncertainty. "You chased me once before, Dia. You are no dog to be chasing a Kat... She would only make you fat and how would you get your revenge like that? Revenge... That is what your after, isn't it?"

Though she had quickly hidden it well, Dia had still caught the glimpse of astonishment that had crossed the mare's face, and she smirked. So she finally gets it.
"Ah, but if I chase you, I'm sure I'll get a good exercise to make up for the meal." she defended herself, drawing closer towards the water and the mare, "Though I probably should wait, shouldn't I? To give the foals a little more time to get bigger. That way I could make three meals out of them, picking one off at a time."
She giggled, enjoying the thought. "But I suppose you must need to run along and tell your unfortunate lover that you're carrying his spawn. Do you think he'll take kindly to the fact you're no longer the skinny cute mare you once were? Perhaps I should go with you to visit him, to ensure he knows the seriousness of the situation."

"Pick off your own one at a time. One by one by one until there are no more if you can... Then spawn your own and start again." She snorted softly, tossing her head high once more. "If you want foals so badly breed our own."
Run? No. She didn't feel up to running anywhere. Her head felt light and her stomach was churning worse now with her new thoughts than it had before. "The hatter said he would keep the Kat as long as an understanding was reached..." She mused, more to herself than to the mare who might as well have been elsewhere.
Her attention shifted, golden eyes lifting to the candy colored kalona. "... Did your curse no longer want you? Is that why you were so bitter towards your children? Were you useless to him? Did he replace you?" Her questions were meant to be sincere; not mocking, for once. "I won't be replaced..."

"The.... hatter? What in the hell is a hatter? Have you lowered yourself to the point where you bred with something other than your own kind?"
She held back a snarl, irritable that Katarina had brought the subject of Plague up once again. "And risk damaging my figure once again? I don't think so, darling. Not when I can depend on the likes of you to provide me with the treats I'm after."
It impressed and frustrated her that the mare refused to run. No doubt she feared embarrassment for the tell-tale waddle.
"And I'll have you know, there's absolutely nothing out there that can replace me in his mind. Why else would he have gone through so much trouble of protecting me, when he could have had any mare at any point in time in between?"

"Temper, temper." She tsked softly, almost attempting to soothe the other mare. "This Kat knows stallions like that... The kind that mares are nothing to; nothing more than posessions. Is that what you got yourself involved with? Poor dear. Poor, dear Dia... Dia darling."
She shook her head slowly, a soft sigh falling from her as she did so. "You should show him that you are more than that; that you won't be forgotten. Who could ever forget a mare such as yourself? So radiant..." But nowhere near as beautiful as herself. Keeping that thought in mind was the only way that she could say such things to the other mare.

Her eyebrow rose. Since when did the mare resort herself to speaking in third person? But then again, Katarina had always been a bit quirky, so Dia shouldn't have been surprised at her turn of speech.
She didn't like, however, how she was being spoken to. Like so many others, Kat seemed to be writing her off as another weak creature that was to be bullied around. Dia had certainly made her name as such, apparently, if even fangless creatures saw her this way.
She grew more curious though, instead of angry, as she noticed the sigh the other mare let out. Did she actually pity her? And for what?
"He cannot forget." she replied coldly, her thoughts going back towards the stallion. "He can't and that's why he refuses to let me go."

"Good. A stallion should never forget a mare such as yourself..." Just as Mad H would never forget her. She had left an imprint upon him and, no matter what happened, that would always be there.
It had better be there.
Snorting softly she gave her head a light toss. "That scoundrel! This is all his fault!" Whirling she turned away from the other mare, stalking towards the forest. She had a stallion to confront.

Dia's thoughts jolted back to the present time, as the pudgy Cheshire colored mare turned around on her heels and stomped away, as if in her own state of mind that did not include the candy kalona.
Had Dia been thinking of anything else, then perhaps she would have trailed after the mare, and stirred up trouble between her and her new impending family. But the question of Plague had hit her hard, and her mind, as much as it tried, could not stray from that line of thinking.
Glancing about, she paused to wonder where such a large menace might be lurking. Knowing the sun was horribly bright against his hollow eyes, she decided that if he was to be found anywhere, it would be among the trees.
Moving a distance away from where the other mare had departed, Dia herself began a trek into another edge of the same forest, bound and determined to locate the b*****d that had attached himself to her life, so for once and for all she could set things straight.
