She nodded and laughed. "You're fluffy too" She nipped at his mane and whistled.
Walking along she shurged, "Well whatever flips their wig, just as long as you don't go trying it with me." She said in a simi-joking sort of tone. She walked along, "Although I do see how it helps the line survive but it can also be a bad thing too can't it? I mean if you keep it pure sooner or later you're going to run out of pure blood."
Shaking her head she laughed again. "Who cares? You're in a different land here, Not all of our families are royal. Heck we even had a.... uh never mind." She said almost mentioning hte goddess she promised when she met the lioness she'd not tell her secret.
"If we can find them. When my father and brother don't want to be found they won't be." She nodded walking along. "Although lunch does sound nice." She grinned at the thought of food.

Laughing, he shook his head and neck, sending his mane flying everywhere. After it settled, he strode forward, smiling at her.
"I wouldn't try to enslave anyone, especially not you." He thought for a moment, and then nodded. "Yeah... I guess after a while we'll all just die out. There are a couple of us that left and went to other places, but the Firekin blood will get filtered out of their offspring over time."
As she spoke, he paused, listening. Yet another thing he wouldn't press... But maybe another time. Boy, he sure had a lot he wanted to ask her!
"Well, lunch and a fruitless search it is, then!" He grinned back.

She watched his mane as he shook and she laughed. "That's so cool. The red and white blends in together when you do that."
She watched him and let him get a bit ahead of her, "Well good, atleast you're honest." Her tail flickered, "Kinda sad really, but It could always be bred back in if it doesn't get too far. You'd just need enough to get it down the lines so that there won't be any desease."
"Sounds fun when you put it that way." The golden lioness laughed as she walked along, Me and my brother are twins, but he's got a brown mane incase you're wondering." Her tail flickered. As she walked along. "So are you going to show me how a pure blood hunts?" She chuckled slightly teasing him.

"Brown mane. Got it." He beamed, glancing back at her. "I don't think pure bloods are any more skilled at hunting than mixed bloods... I may have power and endurance, but I lack speed. Our pride hunts by following our prey until they are weary. A sand hare or a snake would be useless for us to try and pursue, but a large lizard or rogue antelope..." He shrugged. "That is part of why we need slaves, I suppose. They are faster, so they can catch smaller prey. There aren't many large beasts living out in the desert, other than ourselves."
He lifted his head, sniffing the air. The faint scent of water buck was on the breeze. After a few moments of sniffing, he strode forward, heading deeper into the Pridelands.
"What sort of prey do you usually hunt around here?" He asked, slowing down a bit so that they were side-by-side.

Zuri walked at a slow pace, keeping up with him only slightly. She was thinking, "Maybe..." She said absently as he spoke. She shurged.
"Anything really, there's some zebras, water buck, there's actully a whole range of things. When I'm off by myself and know there's no one else around i'll pick off a rabbbit or something else small." She streatched as she sniffed the air catching sent of the water buck herself. "Normally if we hunt we hunt for more than just us. It all depends on the mood I'm in though is to how big of something I want to pick off."
Her tail flickered softy, "Don't really like hunting that much though."

"Zebra... Those are like antelope, right? Except without the horns? My dad told me about them, he says they're all stripy and neat looking." He beamed.
"It's kind of a sad thing to do, really." He replied, glancing over at her. "Hunting, I mean. We're all creatures, we've all got thoughts and feelings... But we all have to eat, too."
"Would you like something big or small today? I'm not all that hungry." He added, and kept sniffing the air. "If we get something big, though, you could bring it back to your pride..."

"Yup, they look like they have pajamas on. Although when they get into a herd they'll make you dizzy." She laughed at the thought of it before humming softly.
"I know..." She sighed looking around, "If I didn't have to eat i'd let them go. I don't mind playing with them sometimes, just hte killing that bothers me."
She pondered tail flickering. "Eh I'm kind of in one of those moods for something small myself. I'm sure there's a small water buck that's got a bummed leg or something in that herd." She looked around trying to figure out if they should circle them or what. "I noticed it yesterday. I doubt anyone has picked it off yet."

"Wow... There's lots of 'em." He stared for a moment, then shook his head. It was rare to find more than two or three at once out in the desert.
"If it's got a bum leg, that means it'll be slower than the others, right? What if we scared 'em all and got 'em to run off? Then the one with the busted leg would lag behind."
"Or..." He thought out loud, digging his claws into the ground, "...we could try and sneak up on 'em and save ourselves a bit of a run."

Zuri chuckled, "Ah you don't get herds in you're neck of the woods then." She grinned and nodded as she watched him and then looked back to the water buck.
"Well if we chase them it makes a bit of a sport out of it but at the same time it could cause a stamped and no tellings what could happen then...." She pondered over it. "Well if we're going to chase them lets head them the way we came. Atleast we know there's no one that way to get ran over."
Her tail flickered. "You head that way" She nodded to the side away from pride rock, "I'll go the other way and we'll meet in the middle. If we don't see the one with the bum leg when we meet up we'll have a run at them." She said with a smile.

"Okay." He nodded, flashing her a grin before taking off in the direction she had pointed out. He made sure to keep downwind, so as not to spook the waterbuck in the process of moving around them. After reaching the middle point, he eased himself down into the grass, scanning the surrounding area for Zuri.

Zuri had circled much larger becuase she had gone upwind but she knew how to move so it didn't make much of a difference.
Coming up beside Ani she yawned and stretched. "So shall we start the fun? All that running around in a circle was boring." She rolled her eyes, she had met up with no one on her way to Ani so there wasn't any dangers in chasing them the way they were going to be doing.

"Yes, let's." His voice was light and breezy - it was obvious that he was already thoroughly enjoying this. He bent one foreleg down in an elegant lion bow, lifting the other to motion towards the water buck.
"Ladies first."

Zuri paused for a moment as he bowed her brow lofted for a second before shurging, "If you must insist." She gave a soft nod and started creeping up closer by a few yards before breaking into a run.
She checked to make sure Ani was beside her as she watched the buck start to scatter, watching for the one with a bummed leg. This wasn't what Zuri'd normally call fun but it was amausing for the time. She let out a snarl as one of the more abled bucks came near her. He wasn't what she was looking for, she'd have to fight him too much. Even though ani was there she wasn't about to pick something she'd have to struggle with.
Hm, where was it?

Ani ran forward, keeping at Zuri's left as he watched the water buck disperse. He let out a few deep-throated growls at any buck who dare came near, and scanned over the group for the one with the busted leg. They all seemed pretty healthy... ah! Wait! Was that it? He focused on one buck who was in a group that had shuffled off to the side, instead of racing off ahead of the lions. They were watching Ani and Zuri closely.
"There!" He said, changing his direction and heading towards the group. Immediately, they began to flee. One lagged behind the rest - a dappled male who seemed to be holding his right hind leg up several inches off the ground. Ani kept up the chase until the wounded buck was several hundred yards from his companions, and then began to circle it, to try and herd it back towards Zuri.

Zuri saw it soon after Ani shouted. Though she didn't dart after it stright away. She waited when he started to chase it back in her direction she grinned. This one would be rather easy. She moved then to join in the circling of the buck.
He seemed to have a broken leg alright. But what did it, she studied it before noticing the marks on it. "Someone tried to catch it before...." She almost muttered knowing ani couldn't hear it. They seemed rather deep and she was surprized that it was still living. Assuming it must've been in a rocky spot and had broken it's leg over the rocks while trying to get away.
Oh well that wasn't important, she growled at it the frighted buck as it didn't know which way to go with two lions circling it. Fear could be smelled thick in the air. Zuri wanted to see if Ani would go for it, make the kill. If not she'd do it. She didn't want to see the thing suffer anymore.
Even if it was a living beast with feelings it was also in pain which wasn't kind to leave those in pain for that long.
