Greg’s eyes narrowed into slits as he glared at Dante.
“You wouldn’t…” He stopped because he realized that Dante certainly would, so he decided on a better question. “Why Dante? Why are you so adverse to me being around you at all?”

The question--
What...?
For a second he lost his bearing; his face softened, his eyes widened, and he looked surprised.
"...why...?" he parroted, the voice soft and wondering, as though he were asking himself why....
....it lasted for a split second.
Then the smirk came back.
"Why, indeed...if I ask you to leave me alone, should that not be reason enough?

Greg shook his head.
“That’s not a reason to leave you alone, that’s a request. I want to know why. Why you hate me so much that you would go to these lengths…” He said looking down at the pictures and information.

"Because every time I've made these 'requests' you've always continued! ALWAYS!"
Dante grit his teeth.
"It's time to show you just how serious I am."

“That doesn’t answer anything.” Greg muttered, shaking his head. Apparently Dante didn’t want to answer his actual question. Fine he wouldn’t have to.
“And how serious are you about this? Do you have any other information about this? I mean do you have any proof other than pictures that could very well just be from my youth that I used to work for the military?”

"It DOES answer you. You have continually annoyed and harassed me when it was unwanted and unneeded. I have warned you to stop. You have not. This is my way of stopping you."
Dante circled around to the other side of his desk, looking Greg up and down. "The fact that this is an up-to-date profile of yours seems to indicate that you have NOT been discharged from the military. Though...I DID make a call and ask to see the papers that you signed up with. Appears 'Logan' had...two brothers, maybe? Of course, Kenth will care less what happens to you...but I wonder if this 'George' character could tell me anything about 'Logan....'"

As soon as Dante mentioned George Greg was up out of his seat standing near the elf. The height difference made it so that he really more loomed over him.
“Leave George out of this. He doesn’t need all of this dragged up and aired out. Besides he’s going to collage, and that’s not exactly free.” He said, glaring down at the man. “Besides I’ve never done anything to your family, ever, so leave both of my brothers out of this.”

Dante was not cowed.
"You want him left out of this? Leave me alone. Leave this office, never come back, never ever speak to me or touch me again. If you want this left alone, you know what to do."

Greg stared at Dante for a moment, then shook his head.
“I still don’t get it Dante. Why you go to these lengths just to ensure that I don’t talk to you. Am I really that repulsive to you? Do you really hate me that much? I can’t understand how you would be willing to hurt innocent people just to get to me. It’s astounding.”

"God, you just don't GET it, do you!? I want you OUT. Out of my office, out of my life! I have asked, and asked, and asked. What do you do? Continue to harass and ignore me. So now I'm going to desperate measures. I don't want to, but you are making me.
Dante stood there, eyes narrowed. "So now you have a choice, Greg."

“And yet you never tell me why you want me out of your life so badly.” Greg replied, looking away. “You keep pushing and pushing but never even answer why.” His shoulders slumped and he eyed the ground. Overall he simply looked defeated.
“But fine. You win. If you’re going to go so far as to threaten my family and turning me in, then fine; you win. I thought that it would be nice to be special to you, but I’m not going to try so much that causes trouble for people who actually like me.” He looked up at Dante and once more forced a smile.
“So fine, Dante. I suppose that I’ll leave you alone, if you really want me to. You can be alone with all your books and your crows and your papers and all those things, and I’m sorry that I tried to be someone special to you. It was my mistake. Happy?”

Dante had a million things to say to him; how he hated the way he'd randomly grab his a** in the hallway, how he'd flirt with him when he DIDN'T want to be flirted wit--
.....
And just like that, it was over. Dante's face went slack, expressionless for a moment; perhaps this was what the humans called "surprise."
And...sad....
No.
"Very well," he said, regaining his composure. "Very well, then."

Greg just looked at him blankly, and then shrugged. “Well I suppose that I should be going now.” He asked, a bitter edge in his voice. “Should I see myself out or do you want to walk me to the door and threaten a few more people I care about? Or maybe you would like to try something different and would like to destroy Melinda’s grave? Or you could try to get Kenth in trouble about China? Or you could hurt Alex. There are a whole lot more innocent people I care about that you could hurt, so don’t bother stopping with George. But don’t worry Dante, I won’t anyone that you care about because I care about you, and because I’m not such a jerk.”

"That's enough," Dante said, steel in his voice.
He didn't like hearing the things that Greg was rattling off--he'd never do such things. Never. "You and I both know I wouldn't do--would never go that far. As it is, I want you out of my office." And out of my life.
He took a seat, took a book from the shelves and opened a journal on his desk. "Good day, Professor Larine."

“Well I thought that you wouldn’t have gone this far. “ Greg replied with a glare. He turned and walked to the door, then looked back over at Dante.
“Good day, and good bye Professor.” He said before letting himself out of the room.
