Ravi turned his attention back to his drink. What did he want...? He hadn't ever thought of the soul that way... he just kept trying to think of something that suited mistletoe (and yet something that wouldn't make the fel essence's power any worse). He paused some more before responding.
"I suppose... something intelligent. Something agreeable. Something that would not abuse its... predestined abilities." He added the last remark with a cross between a smirk and a grimace. "But something... different, as well. I'd like my Raevan to be distinguished. To be set apart in some way or another. They're all pretty dignified, and they all seem so unique, but I think... my Raevan would be special."
It was the first time he had described the Raevan as "his." Like a pet - no, almost like a... a responsibility. Not a child - Ravi didn't know about children. But he knew that the Raevan was more than just an experiment. He'd learned about more than the brutality of humiliation at all those Lab get-togethers, regardless of what blackmail a certain Huichol might dig up as proof.
He'd learned that the Raevans could be loved. That they themselves could feel love. And though their methods of logic were much different than their human counterparts, each Raevan was sui generis. Not a one was "the same."
Ravi offered a weak grin to Mouse. "Dolphins are rational thinkers, aren't they?"

The green girl nods attentively, draining her cup of coffee as Ravi ponders what his own soul should be. It looked like the two had the same worries about abuse of power, among a few other things. Like the desire for something unique. Special. But probably above everything else, a Raevan that had a very, very low chance of running (floating?) around causing all sorts of psychological chaos with their abilities that come from their fel essence. Not only that, but for the creature's own well-being: Mouse could only start to imagine the guilt she would feel if the soul that she chose ended up giving life to someone that was unstable in some way.
At the mention of dolphins, she could only chuckle. "You have a point, but it doesn't quite fit the bill. I'd like something more... calm and well-balanced," she concluded, placing her now-empty cup back on the table. Dolphins were... it sounded strange, but they could get too happy. Taking the other end of the emotional extreme didn't feel like the way to go at all.
"Well," the girl noted, looking at a clock on the far wall, "I think this place might be closing soon since there's barely anyone here, so I'd like to get going. But..." With an apologetic smile, she dug a pen out of her pocket and scribbled her information down on a handy napkin. "I'd like to keep in contact with other Raevan owners, so... here you go."

Ravi looked to the clock and felt some color rise to his face. He hadn't realized he'd spent the whole day here, and with this stranger, though she apparently wished to be on greater terms than that with the scholar. She passed him her name and contact information on a napkin. Normal thing for a young girl to do with a guy she was interested in, but Ravi relaxed in knowing where the woman's true pursuits laid. She wasn't too unlike himself, at least in terms of professionalism; it would be good to maintain contacts with others who had possession of creatures as rare, as undocumented, and thus as unpredictable, as Raevans were.
He asked to borrow a pen and followed suit, writing his name and number on a napkin for Mouse to take with her. "Drop me a line when you've made some progress with the Raevan. We're sure to meet again... the Lab is always holding some kind of charity or event or another. I usually somehow find myself... dragged into the mix, so you can probably find me there."
He nodded to Mouse, wished her good luck, and went on his way. He was still a ways away from finding the solution to his own soul-searching and soul-selecting problems, but perhaps he wasn't out of options just yet. Mouse had offered him that much with just her presence.
