I think the majority of the reason right now is the fact we have so many. Right now, it's late, and many went to bed (like I should have done hours ago) so we're pumping extra hard to make up for the lack. Aekea, if they lose some members, they still have a pretty good chance of moving faster than we do.
Also, since it is about...12-14 hours till this thing is over with, we may be getting a little over confident, and not pumping as much and quickly as we should. As long as we continue to move, and keep our lead, we'll be solid.
Now is the time, of all times to push it to the limit.

as long as we have the same amount of launches as Aekea, Durem will win by points. but we need to keep pumping just to keep the the launches equal!
