The Myst series. For sure. I've only played the first two installments (and that was a while ago) but from what I can recall it would definitely qualify. Lots of gadgets and Victorian-esque furniture, and I believe there are quite a few steam powered things as well

ClockworkNinja Closest thing I can think of is a game by Sierra called Arcanum: Of Steamwork and Magic Obscura This. This is an amazing game. Everybody must play it NOW. O_O

Final fantasy IX had the most steampunk elements, in my opinion.
The main character, Zidane, is a flying pirate, for starters.
The clothing is very Victorian-esque (Although made to look alot ' cuter')
Also, the world's technology is powered by "mist", rather than steam.
I suggest steampunk fans have a go at this game. ^_^
On the topic of "Arcanum: Of Steamwork and Magic Obscura"; does anyone know if there is a linux release?

I'd put Final Fantasy VI in the steampunkish category also. Airships, steam engines (ghost train), buildings and bases with lots of big gears and some steamy looking mecha.

Since we're bringing up Final Fantasy, FFXII seems to me to be quite steampunk, although it might just be the general look of things (lots of that steampunk favorite brown).

.Hack//G.U.'s city settings is mentioned by an NPC in the game as being based off of 'SteamPunk', and in fact, this is how I even learned of this genre/sub-culture. biggrin In fact there are steam powered bikes and a whole class in the game called Steam Gunners. Some of the clothing is a little Victorian-esque, but most of the outfits are kind of obscure. This town in the third game amazes me. This is only the art for it, but while playing, there's a back-alley with huge gears turning under the building. Breg Epona

I found the steampunk MMO. It's called "neosteam". I played it quite a while ago, and hopefully the community has grown since then. For those who are interested: http://ns.clubhanbit.jp/intro/index.aspI might give it a try later on. Expect a review in the near future.
