"Ra and Ny.. Moto. " He had obviously forgotten what was attached to that 'ny', but Moto was easy enough to remember. It was in his name! And of other firekin.
He blinked as Meilin suddenly stood, and wriggled out from between Uuo's paws. "Okay Meilin. " He tilted his head. What was wrong with her? Or.. maybe slaves were just usually gloomy. "Maybe I should go too. " He said, the peered around a bit. "I don't think the folks would like seeing me be nice to you two. " He frowned. They'd probably want him to be mean and gruff and demanding!
"Just one thing.. do slaves sleep in dens, or do they make you sleep outside? "
It was perhaps a random, dumb question. But to Spaki, it made sense. At night in the desert it was very cold-- he couldn't imagine having to -sleep- out there! He wasn't afraid of going out but.. he rather be awake.

Uuo too was surprised when Meilin stood up abruptly and announced her need to go. She'd wonder what had gotten into her, but Meilin was usually this abrupt anyway, only her eyes gave something more away. Was the lioness actually capable of showing something other than annoyance, amusement, and indifference?
Looking down again to the cub that had freed himself from between her paws, Uuo replied first. "That depends on the masters' moods." She grinned toothily. "My master's misses makes me sleep outside now and then if she thinks I've been too mouthy. Frankly, it doesn't matter to me either way. I'm used to that kind of cold, that's what I was built for."
She thumped a paw against her chest, a solid noise being the result. All that thick fur and stocky size did come in handy sometimes, after all.
"I usually sleep just outside of Kimeti's den... but I believe that there's a cave where most of the slaves sleep otherwise, though weather or not it's used I don't know for certain. Good day." Was Meilin's quiet answer before the lioness bowed her head politely to Spaki, giving Uuo a fleeting glance, turning, and taking her leave. It was clear then that her mood had soured a bit, though what from was anyone's guess. She didn't turn back once she was on her way, though, headed off to try her paw at hunting again on these shifting sands.
".... That girl." Uuo muttered, watching her go, then nosed Spaki's haunch encouragingly. "Probably not, kid... but I'll tell you what. We can pretend, and it'll be our little secret. We wouldn't want to see you gettin' into trouble on our account." He was just a cub, after all, and Uuo would never let a child take the fall, not for her or anyone else.

"Oh.. " He blinked. Uuo was so furry. He wasn't sure if it was good or bad in the desert. Bad at day, when she'd be.. hot. And good at night, when it was cold! But.. He guessed he'd rather be made for the day. Thats when he did all the fun stuff.
However, the way Meilin talked was so odd. He tilted his head as she left, quirking a brow quietly. What had gotten into her? He quietly mused over the fact he may have said something. But pushed that away. He best not go there. However, soon he was poked by the large lioness.
"Okay! " He nodded, smiling brightly at the idea of having a 'secret'. It sounded neat! "I'll go and.. pretend I never met you! " He nodded smartly, stalking around Uuo once, as if pretending to be some sort of ninja, then scuttled off a ways, turning to stand on his hind legs a bit and lift his paws in a sort of wave. "bye! " he said, loudly enough for Uuo to hear but.. not really wanting to shout it. Someone might hear!
With a last little grin, Spaki scurried off to go pretend he'd done nothing out of the normal. Maybe he should go roll in the sand a bit-- he usually came back pretty sandy when he went to play.

~Good boy,~
Uuo thought with a tiny and crooked smile, watching him run along, and giving him a bit of a wave with one of her own paws. She was indeed serving her purpose here, as challenging as it may be. Her goal was not only to provide reinforcements from the inside, but to gather information, who could be counted as loyal or innocent when the time came for the battle to be waged, so that they might know which to look to as enemies. The last thing she'd want was for innocents to get dragged in, but the one thing she had a hard time taking into account was the possibility that things would change with time as the shifting sands did constantly in the desert. Spaki was kind now, but who knew what teachings would do to him as he grew? Would he retain that spark of his, or would he eventually become like the others....?
Looking after Meilin now again for the time being the large female stood to her paws, ambling in the opposite direction. She'd let Meilin have her privacy for the time being, she had things to attend to anyway, like seeing if she could slip off to the oasis for a drink. Tomorrow would be a new day. She wanted to be hydrated enough to live to face it.
