He reached out to give the boy a light pat on the head, trying not to smirk too broadly as he saw the glare that he was given. He carefully plucked the vial from the boy's hand before setting it back on the shelf. "I had to get your attention somehow, didn't I? What other way was I to go about getting it?"
His brow furrowed as he stared at the man. Was this guy real? "... Generally one approaches the counter if they need some sort of assitance." He snorted, trying not to let his nose wrinkle into a snarl of any sort.
"Yes, well... I'm certain that would have been an easy way to go about it... But not nearly as efficiant." He grinned as he stepped around the boy. "Could you point me in the direction of a small, orange dragon that looks like his mother ate a phoenix before hatching him? I believe he has something that belongs to me."

He raised a brow as he heard the customer talking about Torch and the accursed egg. So the egg did belong to someone after all. Perfect.
"Said dragon is currently curled up in a back room around the egg as if he laid it himself. Feel free to take him too if he won't let go."
He was not being truthful. He was a b*****d but he wouldn't separate a dragon from it's master like that. Even if the thought was nice.

Upon seeing the look on the boy's face at the mention of taking Torch along with the egg he shook his head, tsking softly. "No, no... That wouldn't do at all. I'm afraid I don't have enough room for two dragons in my chambers. Besides... He might be missed." He nodded slowly, a slight grin curving the corners of his mouth.
"Boy, why don't you go fetch my egg. Promise the little winged one that I'll bring the hatchling by once it emerges and give him this." He tossed a shiney gem towards the boy, hoping it would be enough to distract the dragon for a bit. "He seemed to like it before he spotted my egg."
He caught the gem, eyeing it for a moment before looking towards Jaxom for permission to leave the shop front. Once he recieved a nod he took off down the hall towards his room.

He shook his head and truthfully didn't care what Dorian did as long as it got the egg out of his home before it hatched. He didn't like the idea of Torch hording onto a jewel but that was better than something that would eventually hatch into another little problem.
Sipping his coffee he eyed the customer for a moment before he went to work on bottle labels. There was a sizable collection of ones that were no longer readable and that needed to be remedied.

He crossed his arms over his chest, looking to the other man after a moment. "... Aren't even going to thank me for getting a nuisance out of your shop?" His blue eyes danced with merriment as he tried his hardest not to laugh while listening to the bit of the discussion he could hear between the boy and the dragon down the hall.

He looked up from writing a label slowly. "Had you not come it would have been sold to the first person willing to take it. Torch's opinion or not."
It was shady business but he wanted the egg gone. "You should be thanking me that i didn't toss it out a window. I have enough of those little things crawling ..."
His words were interrupted by a rather large scratching sound. Panzer was trying to get up the bookcase at Zelfen and failing miserably. "Crawling around."

"From the sounds of things down the hall it would have cost you quite a bit to get the fiery one to part with it. He seems quite possessive."
He smirked as he reached into his pocket to retrieve a small clockwork gnome. He stooped down as he wound it up, carefully setting it down on the floor before letting it free to 'waddle' towards the green dragon. "You just have to know how to deal with them."
He swallowed hard as he clutched the egg that he'd managed to pry away from Torch after a good bit of arguing and the eventual tossing of the gem. He carefully carried it down the hall, not trusting himself to not drop it or the pillow that it was resting on. Torch wasn't going to like him very much once the novelty of the gem wore off.

The little green dragon eyed the gnome for a moment before he launched himself off the bookcase and toward it. Whatever it was needed to be dealt with and what better way than this?
He winced as he heard the dragons claws scrape on metal. "Really. He has enough toys upstairs. He just chooses to play with my other dragon more often than not"

"Then perhaps you haven't done enough to stimulate his intrests otherwise. Give him little tasks to perform; things to keep him distracted. He may leave your other little friend alone and, in the process, you might get a bit of peace."
He reached into his pocket again and, this time, pulled out something small and furry that looked like a mouse. It too was mechanical and would feel no pain upon being pounced... But it had been, at one point, charmed to keep skittering about, avoiding breakable objects and things that shouldn't be run int. He set it carefully on the floor and watched it move, waiting for the moment that he could pick up the gnome.
He entered the shop front, setting the egg carefully on the counter. "... There you are, sir. Your egg. Good as new... Not a scratch on it." Although his sleeves now hid several small scratches of their own.

He sat on the gnome for a moment before he picked it up in his mouth and, walking over the mouse, headed for the hallway. The furry thing wasn't interesting to him. He had one of those. But the gnome, now that was entertainment. He'd have to put it with his horde and play with it more later.
He laughed shortly as Panzer ignored the new toy. "He already has a living breathing squeaking furry toy to play with. I'm afraid he's keeping the gnome."
He looked over as Dorian came back and reached over to grab one of his arms when he set the egg down. Pulling up the sleeve he raised a brow. "Bring me the kit and i will clean those. You'll never be able to wrap that properly."
Dragon scratches weren't something to take lightly and he wouldn't have his apperentance walking around with swollen cuts.

"I'm afraid I will just have to make another then." He smirked as he reached down to pick up the other toy he'd set down, stuffing it back into his pocket. "Wind it up every now and then and it might keep him properly distracted... At least long enough for you to get something accomplished."
His nose scrunched slightly as his sleeve was shoved up. He was about to argue... And then he recalled the last time he'd tried to do so. He nodded once before turning off to fetch the kit. "Yes, sir."

"We shall see." He doubted it would do any good. Panzer had plenty of toys and he played with the dragon often. He still liked nothing more than to pounce on Zelfin while the black dragon wasn't paying attention.
Though Zelfen's affinity didn't help matters any. He seemed to attract things like that on his own.

"Even if that doesn't work I'm certain that there is something you can do to keep your dragon occupied. It is a rather large city... Perhaps someone could use a mouser." He shrugged his shoulders as he reached for his egg, tucking it carefully back into the pouch that he'd carried it around in previously. It was much easier to transport that way.
He returned with the kit, setting it on the counter before glancing up at the stranger. "... I told Torch you'd bring 'his' egg back to visit... Once it wasn't an egg anymore, that is. You did say you'd bring the hatchling back, didn't you?"
"Aye, boy, I did. And I mean to keep my word... It wouldn't do at all to have rumors spreading that I am not a man of my words." He nodded, smile curving his lips once more.

The idea of someone coming to visit on a regular basis wasn't something that he was looking forward too. Unless the mad decided to buy something every time he was on. Regular customers were welcome. Regular loiters? Not so much.
Opening the kit and taking out some cotton balls and the disinfectant he scooted Dorian's sleeves up. He wasn't about to warn the boy that it would sting after how many times he'd poured the stuff on him.

"Right... Well, in that case I'll be taking my leave. Do keep a better eye on that fire starter of yours, boy." He smirked as he turned to head for the door, wanting to get his egg back to his own apartment before something else happened to it.
Just as he was going to respond the disinfectant touched his skin and he hissed, hand clenching the counter. His brow furrowed darkly as he glanced down at his arm before looking up at Jaxom. Old b*****d probably enjoyed that...
After a moment his furrowed brow softened and the glanced back towards the door. "... He seemed nice enough. I think Torch's egg will have a good home... Don't you think so, sir? I mean... It won't be here, like you didn't want it here, but we'll at least be able to see it from time to..." He blinked, anticipating the look on the elder man's face. "... What?"
