shizznazzled i agree. (p.s. Peaches is awesome) she definitely is. i'm not really allowed to listen to her because my mother got ahold of the teaches of peaches, looked at the song titles, and freaked. but i'll play her all the time and my mother never listens to the lyrics so she doesn't notice.blood_brothers it drives me nuts how women act like that in music videos, it gives out a horrible message out to everyone! I remember a long time ago, I was babysittting this 5 year old and we were watching tv. While I went to the bathroom, he changed the channel to MTV, and what was on the screen was horrific, Some rap dude I swear was having sex with a younger girl, and she was enjoying it. What kind of message is the media giving out to people? That we should all have sex with girls in skimpy clothes? some children will look at the media and use it as an example of how they should be treated or how they should treat others. little girls dress sluttier because they want to look like the girls in the videos that they so adore. little boys will see the rappers, many of whom devalue women, as role models, and will emulate them.
there's also a flip side to this; at my sister's birthday party once, i was flipping channels while we waited for one little girl to arrive and i stopped on mtv, where a music video for beyonce's "baby boy" was playing. it was the scene where beyonce is laying on the bed in a semi-skimpy top rolling around. immediately i was accosted by screams of "GROSS! EW! SICK!" from ten-year-old girls. so hopefully, they'll see this as something they don't want to become.

it's very unbalanced. many videos inclued women with a lot of skin exposed and a** shaking, it doesn't even up with how many videos we see with exposed men.

i don't really hate rap. i mean, i'm not a fan, but i'm not horribly against it. now, stuff like eminiem bugs the piss out of me. seeing music videos where there are a bunch of women in clothing that isn't really there with their unnaturally massive breasts hanging out bothers me. that's how women are protrayed to be. that's how many people think of, "real," women (which is why i admire women like kathleen hanna (and even courtney love), because they're REAL women!!). i wrote some big post on a website about that god damned a** like that song. s**t like that honestly makes me feel a bit embarrassed...i think stuff like, "oh god, is THAT how people think of women? if so, i don't want it..." the girl upstairs listens to that s**t, not the..."nice" rap or anything, not even the i-got-shot-rap, but the stuff that's ALL about objectifying women...it just makes me want to throw a bikini kill cd in her face...*rolls eyes*

I dont hate all rap i just hate like how pimp you are like ying yang twins, 50 cents it just sickening
I do admit eminem have some good songs cause of it's lyrics, but mainstream rap is just sickening. I missed the good ol days, when tupac was alive. Actually best lyric i ever seen was a rap group called aesop rock (daylight).

well, all rap isn't s**t...it's not...i mean, rage against the machine is pretty rappy...i don't know what genre they usually put it in; i don't care. but they're SO good *drops to knees to worship tom morello*, and they have such powerful messages in their music.

I don't have a problem with Rap, I don't pay attention to the lyrics much anymore. Most of it sounds the same, anyway.
I do hate when the women make themselves look like assholes while representing us, though. Like, when they throw out there that they're women, then in the next line, they're talking about having sex constantly and using men, etc. A lot of people think that it's empowering for women and such, but I think that it's embarrassing for us.

I hate when people try to make it seem ok that girls are dancing around to songs that glorify woman as only objects for sex by saying that they're a "healthy" size...like Beyonce or someone else who's not a complete stick.
The fact that they may have a little more meat on their bones hardly makes a difference. They're still showing everyone that that's how a woman's supposed to be...slutty.

i really like the beat to a lot of rap songs, regardless of the lyrics, but if the song has offencive (hey brits, is that how you spell it? i'm just a poor american girl; help me out here. i know it's 'offence', but 'offencive' looks funny.) lyrics, then i won't listen to it.
i have a babysitter (i cannot drive yet, thus i must have someone to drive me and my sister around while my parents are at work) from the czech republic. she doesn't understand a lot of 'dirty' stuff that the songs on the radio are saying, so she always listens to them. i was in her car the other day, and that song by fat joe and all those other rappers...what's it called..."get it poppin'" maybe...came on. there was one part where it was like "you like it more than i like it it's written all over your face don't fight it" which i thought made it seem like it was a man's duty to have sex with any willing woman, regardless of whether he was really feeling something special or not. overanalysing? maybe.

I'm not defending the men but let's face it, men like half naked women and as long as they do there will be a demand. No one is putting a gun to these women's heads and forcing them to do this, they do it because they want to do it. Whether one might say that they are uneducated or uninformed about their own feminine power, it will continue until this world becomes a woman friendly place.

The years women like us spend fighting against sexism is slashed by every slut in music videos, porn and the ditzy steriotype that is potrayed everywhere! I hate those people with a passion! Anyone who has a job where showing off their body and acting like that isn't a person in my eyes! (men included in this one, you too 50 cent)
