Yoder's attempt to simultaneously follow all of Magni's movements failed, and the uppcut connected cleanly. Due to his sword being pushed and being hit only a moment later, he inadvertantly dropped his katana. Crap! Without my ancient katana, I have nothing to match the range of his dark star blades.
Taking a few steps back from the melee blow to regain his balance (the force of the uppercut made him move backward anyway), he spied his sword off to the left of Magni. Spitting out a spray of blood due to his bleeding tongue, he picked the flower from his jacket's lapel and snapped the stem. The flower's petals multiplied in a dazzling array that blocked Yoder from sight fore a few seconds. His gray eyes narrowed as he reached back to his ice whip belt which had been trailing behind him loosely thus far. Unfurling a few of the ties that fastened it to his body, he began to swing the now-elongated icy tail of his belt in a circular motion. Yoder then stepped through the flrry of petals flinging the end of his whip at Magni's most recent location. If anything, at least it'll get him away from my sword.

A soft growl of satisfaction escaped his lips as Magni's fist connected on the flesh and bone of Yoder's jawline. In his feral state, he had planned to strike through the throat into the brain with his kunai, but this works just as well. Fully intending to follow up, his peripheral vision distracts the warrior as his prey is knocked backward. Something went flying, and his decent vision would not ignore something . . . metal.
Noting where the sword landed, Magni turned back to see a shower of destroyed rose petals becoming a screen for the moment. Desparate to move, he dove to the left, dragging his steel toe boot along the ground, kicking the blade further along his path. Such a move cost him, though. Had he merely moved at full speed, the whip would not have hit. Instead, the icy weapon connects with the middle of his tail, the ice burning into his flesh.
Wincing, and nursing his rear appendage, Magni does not press the attack. That whip is more deadly for it's range, and it's bite is worse than this sword would be. Still, waste not, want not. As the lunge ends, he tucks into a roll, careful to pick up the sword as he does so. When Magni comes to a stop, he drives the sword tip down into the soil at least half it's length. The warrior would prefer more, but that is not possible right now.
Hoping he has enough time to afford this distraction, he spins as fast as he can into a sweep, steel toe leading. Against a solitary target, there is no chance- and perhaps a quarter of a blade with an ornate handle goes flying off a few yards with a distinct metal 'ping'.
"One weapon down . . . " mumbles the warrior, ignoring the minor protests of a bleeding wound on his forearm, and the somewhat insistant pain of a bleeding and semi-frozen tail wound. No time for that now. Instead of manouvering for a strike, this little disarmament has cost him the advantage. Now it is Magni that is in a defenive crouch, and Yoder that is in a position to strike.

The whip connected well, hitting Magni's tail, and Yoder couldn't help but feel a little excited. His elation however, was cut short when Magni retrieved his katana. Thinking Magni would wield it against him, he thought of ways to utilize his remaining arsenal. To Yoder's utter surprise, Magni not only discarded the wepon, but he BROKE it! The distinct sound of the metal snapping rang out across the field. So, he thinks he can widdle down my assortment of weapons, does he?
Although only his ice whip and ice gauntlet remained, Yoder would make good use of them. Fully uncoiling his whip from his torso and abdomen, the ice whip would act more like an actual whip and less like a ball-and-chain. Takins a stap toward Magni while turning, he snapped the whip at the remnant of his blade still in the ground. the stub rising from the ground crackled and became fully encased in ice. With vengeance coarsing through him, he spun the whip towards himself. Grabbing it at about halfway, he swung it as a ball-and-chain once more (spinning over his head this time instead of beside himself). He stopped and with the momentum from the whips revolutions and his suddenly halted movement, he lashed the whip downward upon Magni.
((NOTE: Using my ice whip as a whip did not increase its power, it just has a more dramatic effect upon inanimate objects.))

What satisfaction he gained by destroying the blade is quickly vanquished by the sheer rage of Yoder. True, had it been his sword so shattered, he'd be pissed too- but this is a tad more than being irate. Tucking and rolling to avoid the bludgeoning of an ice/blade cludge, Magni is forced again to act desparately.
His mind only has two options: attack and forfit defense, or defend and hope to find an opening. Neither are acceptable, so he does his best to perform both. As Yoder moves for a heavy strike, Magni notes his opponent's defenses are lax. Rage has cost any thought of defese, only of the kill. A plan forms, and he hopes it works.
Stopping mid-roll, Magni raises both his blades in a X formation. Hoping to catch the whip, and subsequent deathly attachment, he also puts his weight on that injured tail. Wincing through the pain of all his weight put on a wound, he kicks both his legs outward, aiming his heavy boots at both kneecaps.
Like so many moves in this short fight, it is desparate and risky. Either it will be a great move, leaving his opponent prone and open to attack, or it will cost him greatly, for pain and position will not be very forgiving to him here should it fail.

Yoder's ice whip struck the crossed blades, wrapping around them a few times. As soon as his whip struck, Yoder's legs were taken out from under his by Magni's heavy boots. Practically kow-towing before him due to his fall, Yoder feared that Magni would cut right through his whip. It was equally likely that his whip had been wrapped so tightly that Magni's bladed wouldn't be able to move enough to cut through. Sense kicked in among the rapid conflict and he yanked the whip, hoping to pull Magni to the ground as well. He hoped that his previous mindless wrath wouldn't cost him the fight. If this sudden pull on his whip didn't manage to somehow disable Magni temporarily, he would have to forefeit his whip and be left with only an ice gauntlet and metallic wings.

Pain washes over him like wave, overriding his thoughts. Magni underestimated the feeling of putting his weight on his injured tail, and now is paying the price. Had he used his kunai as a large pair of scissors, the whip would be destroyed as well. Instead, his distraction allowed the ice imbued weapon to not only wrap around his defensive blades, but encase them in ice as well.
Yoder's knees, however, buckle from his stomping attack. That should lower his mobility for a while. Somewhere in his mind, Magni at least registers that bit of good news. Unfortunately, with his blades bound fast, his best move would be to kick like mad. Then there is a yank- and as if laying on a ball, he is pulled into a standing position by his own weapons.
Still a bit groggy, and left with some ice-fused weapons, Magni does the only thing he can . . . raising his arms up, he brings them down hard towards the back of Yoder's head. Unable to slice, the finely crafted blades have become something that is one part handcuffs, and one part club. Hit or miss, this impact on his opponent (or the ground) should at least shatter the ice, and free the weapons.

Through the commotion of this latest clash, Yoder hadn't realized that Magni was already on the ground. Pulling on the whip only helped Magni to stand up. From the tug, he didn't have enough time to stand before Magni's next attack. Being bludgeoned on the head before he had a chance to decide upon his next move, the blow was somewhat softened since the ice surrounding Magni's kunai blades shattered upon impact. Still, a dull and unlocalized pain pulsed through his skull. He certainly had a concussion now, if not worse. In his pain he quickly jutted his gauntlet upward to Magni's crossed blades, hair already stained with blood. Hopefully my claws will be able to deflect his next blow. With any luck, this might also help to free my whip.

Those explosive crashes are quickly becoming Magni's favorite sounds. First the metallic protest of an opponent's blade, and now the shattering of ice. Despite his worries, the blow hit- and hit hard. Several of the shards of ice were tinted with red. So enthralled is he that he does not stop his momentum as fast as he should.
Without the ice, the blades fall away, within an inch of Yoder's shoulders but not striking. Magni's torso leans forward a bit with the momentum . . . and literally right into a counterattack he hadn't expected. Claws of ice shoot up from the dazed and wounded Yoder. At the last moment Magni sees them coming. Too late to avoid, all he can do is lean to one side, and take a vicious hit.
Jumping back, Magni assesses the damage. It's bad. Though only made of ice, their angle and sharpness were enough to cleave right through his breastplate. With a deep gouge starting on his left pectoral muscle, the true damage starts around his collarbone. Surely it is nicked, if not broken, and the slash continues up to his neck. Missing the major artery by less than he would ever prefer, the bleeding is substantial. One way or the other, this battle will end soon.
"Be sure to have that portable Medlab ready, Zou." With no real time to discuss or strategize, Magni unhooks his left Kunai blades. Taking the weapon in his right hand, he looks hard at his opponent. this has been a good fight, he almost hates to see it end. Then again, it is arrogant to not come to a fight wearing armor. Winded, wounded, and bleeding, the warrior does not waste any time.
Reaching towards his left, he makes a swift motion, throwing the kunai at Yoder, spinning as a wheel in midair as it sails forward. Directly behind it, his arm now out wide to the right, his good arm readies his remaining weapon for a final slash. With all the speed he can muster Magni charges foreward, ready to strike after the kunai- one way or the other . . .
" . . . This ends NOW!"

Instead of blocking anohter blow, his claw connected with the left side of Magni's chest and collar. It made a decent gash and gave Yoder time enough to vault 20 feet away utilizing his wings. When he recovered from a dizzy spell a few moments after he stopped (his head wound had just happened a few moments ago, after all), Magni had already taken off his left blade. Thinking it strange, Yoder waited to see for what reason Magni would do such a thing. Once Magni gripped the blade tighter and reached towards his left side, Yoder determined what Magni was attemtping. That deadly blade will travel fast, and he'll likely run up behind it with his own strike. My ice gauntlet will provide little protection from a spinning projectile, and trying to counter his potential follow-up assault won't go too well for me either.
Flinging the blade like a frisbee, Magni began to run behind it (just as he had predicted). Yoder dre his fist bac some andtried tomtime his thrust with the blade's arrival. Punching his fist out, he struck the middle of the blade. Since it still had much spinning momentum left, one the the blade's sides continued to spin and cut into the hollow between his shoulder and collar bone. Pain shot through the whole area, but it wasn't excruciating. The kunai dug deep, but that solitary cut ceased the blade's spin. Suddenly, the blade dropped to the ground as his arm fell limp. His eyes widened at the realization of what had happened. I can't move my upper arm! I can still feel my whole arm and can move my lower arm and hand, so that blade must have cut my shoulder joint's fibers when it hit. I'm essentially helpless now that I have no exceptional force behind my ice gauntlet anymore! He grimaced as Talon came closer. Yoder stood dumbfounded for a second before he tried to dodge Talon's assault by evading to the right with the aid of his wings.

(last post . . . so sad- I liked this! I don't want to end!!!)
For the second time in a matter of only minutes, the optical ruse worked. At first it was a divot of grass and soil inadvertantly sent at Yoder. This time the move was more deliberate- and much more deathly. The Dark Star kunai was flung as little more than a backup. With the gash upon Magni's left pectoral muscles, he could not count on much power from his left arm. Thusly, he flung the blade out. In the same motion, that prepared his right arm for a vicious strike upward and towards his left . . . when he gets in range.
His blood coursing through his body, the wound bleeds heavily upon his damascus armor. Some might say it looks like it became powered, but the crimson is not of light, but vitae. This is a final strike, win or lose, for at this rate, Magni will not have the strength for a followup. Then, serendipity smiles.
Yoder, seeing the move for what it was chose to block the kunai, rather than dodge it. Not the move expected . . . and that pleases Magni for that split moment. In combat, it is important to be unpredictable, to be dangerous. Of course, the move backfires. Cutting deep into his shoulder, Yoder loses much of his strength to the strike, and the real threat is now upon him!
Magni would expect a normal man to simply run past with a single swipe. As such, his mind comes up with a different, and perhaps riskier move. Burning muscles cry out in agony as their lifeblood begins to thin, and the demands upon them are ever more. Leaning foreward for the final sprint, Magni's speed increases. With the foreward lean, however, the tip of his kunai begins to carve a line in the soft earth. Leaving a trail of sliced grass and a few sods tossed in his wake, the warrior pours all his strenth into a single leap.
Diving foreward, he becomes airborne. Rather than a single lunge, though, Magni flexes his wounded tail, grunting in the effort, and begins to spin in the air. Literally doing a 'barrel roll' as he lunges, his slash becomes more of a corkscrew motion as he gets within range. With the world spinning, he is aware of Yoder attempting to dodge to his left, and is glad that left was the direction of both his spin, and the slash at the beginning of his daring move.
With all his remaining strength, Magni manages to land on his feet and tail in a three-point landing. Momentum, though, keeps him moving foreward a few feet. Skidding to a stop on the lush, soft grass, his kunai again digs a trench behind him as he finally comes to a full stop. Slowly, the warrior rises, his back to Yoder, and tail curling idly at his feet, around the left side.
A long moment passes where all seems still, even the breeze seems to hold it's breath until time resumes. Then, a spray of crimson comes from Magni's neck, and he falls to one knee, holding his left hand to the wound. Vitae seeping through the fingers, he smiles softly. Barely audible, and unable to tell if his final strike hit home in all the movement, the warrior simply mumbles to the wind- and hopefully Yoder "That was fun . . ."
With a very soft thud, he falls the final few feet to the ground and makes no move movement. Win, or lose, his fight is over. Blackness sweeps over him as he falls unconscious from exertion and blood loss.

Magni's blade digging into the ground below, Yoder knew this is the final encounter. Magni then proceeded to launch himself into a spin attack. Yoder's attempt at a dodge could not be completed in time, and Talon's whirling blade struck fatally. For the slightest spark of time, he felt the most intense of pain, then nothing. Yoder's opposite in this duel landed only a short distance behind him after the attack was done. As Yoder's eyes blazed over, he looked towards chest. A strong gash had ben made starting at just inside his collar bone and curving around to his armpit (making about 3/4 of a circle). Unaware of exactly what had just happened, that sudden pain of before came back in full lasting force as blood flowed from his chest. His breathing also felt incredibly labored. He managed to puncture my lung...
Yoder was extremely lucky that Magni's attack had not damaged his heart, for it would have eant certain demise. With his final concious moments coming, Yoder heard Magni's parting words and opened his mouth to reply. His could still breathe, but combinesd with his other wounds, it wasn't enough to sustain his coherence. The darkness faded in and Yoder couldn't be sure if what he wanted to say had actually been formed into words by his mouth. "Likewise..." He also fell to the ground, only a second or two after Magni had.

Oh god… oh good lord! What a fight… WHAT A FIGHT! What a violent bloody battle. Was that not worth coming here to see? Was it not? Meeediiiics. Please give me a moment to catch my breathe…
An unbearable silence falls upon the battle scene. The now completely deserted looking area, with its green grass and occasional rusty red blood marks, starts to glimmer slightly as Zou calls for medics. At first you could think the glimmering is simply a phantasm, perhaps what’s left of the morning dew in the grass reflecting the sunlight, perhaps just an optical illusion, but slowly you realize there really is something what looks like small glittering fragments floating in the air. The tiny specks center around the broken tools and contestants wounds. Suddenly the silence is broken by a rasping noise, Zou continues to speak, now in a much more controlled manner.
Okay I think I’m alright now. Well dear fellow guild members and possible future contestants now you have gotten a proper view of what this contest is all about. So if you’re up for something as gory as this or just curious how far your imagination can take you, go ahead and sign up! That’s right, from this moment onwards to a week from now you can submit your entries and sign up for the competition. Read the instructions carefully and PM me, Zou, your avatar entry. The contestants will be listed in the second post and a week from now we will start teaming you up and arranging the battles. For future reference the battle arenas will be randomized in the actual fights, don’t expect it to be an area like this one. So get your thinking cap on and compose the perfect battle avatar along with the best and most imaginative strategy. One week from now the REAL battle begins.
Please note: All players who have PMed an application before this post was made have been ignored. Please resubmit your entry if you want to be included in the real battle!

As this was only an exhibition battle that is up to each and every one of you to decide. I will refrain from selecting an official winner, due to them both being contest judges. You can complain all you want. Both did a very good job 3nodding
