"To say that she's my stepmother would imply that there's a commitment in place between she and my dad, Dodge, and you know that there's no such thing. She's just one of his paramors, nothing more, so don't you go postulating on relationships between us."

Chuckling, Antony moved over a bit so Dodger could have room, commenting as he did so, "If ever mare my father has ever slept with is a stepmother, I have a lot more than I'd ever care to think about."

And it wasn't that he disliked Luca; he DIDN'T dislike Luca. "She's just kinda hard to be around, if you have any idea what I mean." Which, with Dodger, was a toss-up.

"You talk about it in vocabulary you know and i'll think of it in mine. So much easier to think that way." It didn't matter that Guilian wasn't with Tony's siblings as any more than whatever. That's how Kitara and his dad were. Only there was no continuation of the relationship.

Turning his head he looked at his friend. "If you start picking up yer dah's leftovers i'm gonna stop talking to you." He laughed as he shook his head. That would just be, wrong.

That comment only got Dodger a dirty look. As though Tony would EVER consider sleeping with one of his father's conquests. Never mind that one of them had actually propositioned him once...yeah, that had been a little creepy.

"You spend a little time with her, and you'll see what I mean, Dodger. Some Soquili have an air of happiness about them, some have an attitude of constant depression...and this particular mare has an air of complete...." Pursing his lips together, Tony thought for a moment, then finally said. "Sensuality, I suppose. Every tiny gesture, every tiny look, every laugh or sigh or cough she makes is charged with so much appeal, it's like she's in a constant state of come-ons. According to Dad, she has the power to reduce a stallion to a bibbering mass without even trying. And she DOESN'T try. From what I can tell, she's totally into my dad, as much as she can, but that doesn't mean she can't get every stallion she meets thinking dirty thoughts without even realizing it."

It was complicated, alright. "So, how about we just hang out here?" Much less complicated.

He raised a brow and shook his head at the idea. "I think i'd just rather not imagine that. I don't think i could live with myself if i turned into a blabbering idiot over some mare."

Dah was head over hooves for Mama but he'd never seen him be an idiot about it. He'd think that would be rather annoying after a while. "I stick with things that are less complicated thanks much"

The idea of Dodger being reduced to a blabbering idiot by ANYONE was something that Antony couldn't imagine; however, everyone had their weaknesses...and should Dodger ever become reduced to such a state, Tony, at least, would pay to see it. But anyway.

"So, how're things with your family these days, anyway Dodger? Anything exciting going on out in that neck of the woods?"

"Eh, not much." He shifted so he could lean up against the tree. "My weird nephew's got a friend though. Which is surprising" He'd never figured Wadi would be the social type but he seemed to like his friend.

"Otherwise same ol same ol."

...Weird nephew indeed. Glancing over at Dodger, Antony cracked, "I can totally see where those kind, paternal or whatever feelings you were talking about are kept. Calling your nephew weird, what do you think your sister would say?"

Still, Tony had heard about Wadi before in the course of their conversations; consequently, he knew what Dodger meant when he said 'weird'. "If a new friend is all the excitement, though, I think that this time I actually have you beat!"

Not that it was a contest, of course...

"Seriously, who'd have thought it?"
PostPosted: Wed Aug 29, 2007 4:14 pm

"You think my sister speaks to me?" He laughed at the thought. Wadi and Kizuka liked him well enough some times even if he did joke with them.

"So we're playing for entertainment at home now? Coulda warned me." He'd have nudged the other stallion but that would have required moving. Moving wasn't an option now that he was comfortable.

"How do you have me beat then?"

"Fine. Would you prefer I say growl?" Not that Tony was exceptionally serious; he knew that things between Dodger and the sister in question weren't as pleasant as they could be, but the two of them were a lot more civil than Tony and HIS sister, so if that could be joked about, Dodger could be as well.

"Yeah. I have new and apparently interesting half-siblings; you only have a nephew-friend. The two aren't even CLOSE to being comparable, as I'm sure you'd have to agree."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 29, 2007 4:32 pm

"Growl would probably be better." He grinned slightly. "That's all she really does to me anyway. Then goes telling Dah that i'm mean." He wasn't mean. Most of what he said was true anyway she just didn't want to hear it or took it the wrong way.

"I wouldn't always say siblings are better then families friends. Wadi's friend could be more interesting than your siblings."

"At least you have a routine! That's what siblings are supposed to have, aren't they?"

Though Tony had to admit that there was logic in Dodger's arguement. The fact that the two of them preferred to hang out with each other rather than their siblings was a classic example of that fact; however, the friend of a relative of a friend was, in the grand scheme of things, rather unimportant. If an amusing topic of conversation.

Which reminded him. "I know Wadi is a bit timid, Dodger, but it IS normal for Soquili to spend time with friends. We do all the time, after all...in case you've forgotten."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 30, 2007 10:00 am

"I don't know what siblings are suppose to have. With a family as big as mine nothin's normal." He shook his head at the thought. They did have sort of a routine though. Everyone did their thing and it happened over and over again.

"Sure it's normal but Wadi ain't normal. He's the only stallion i know who'll jump a foot in the air if a leaf falls on'em." It was good that Wadi was getting out and making friends but it was a little odd since his nephew had spent so much time refusing to leave the lake side.

Dodger's comment solictected a snort from Antony. "What, and my family is the definition of commonplace? Try again, Dodger." It was probably safe to say that neither of them had a 'traditional' family life...yet somehow they'd managed to grow into decent, relatively non-corrupted adults, and that was all that mattered.

"So he's expanding his horizons. Maybe he just needed less time in the prescence of all you oppressive uncles to come into his own. You're a scary bunch, after all."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 30, 2007 10:42 am

"True, but i wasn't comparing your family to normal either. Just sayin mine wasn't anywhere close" It was gettign there, kinda, now that Remy and Rogue had settled down and that the kids were 'all grown up'. Though everyone else still said he and Wylie needed to grow up about some things.

"He likes us, or well he likes Sedi. Which makes no sense since Sedi's the wildest of us all" Stallion was always getting into some sort of trouble. He was still waiting for that trouble to either send Sedi back in pieces or with brats. Though, Sedi didnt' seem like the type to do that. He complained too much about crazy girls.

"It's good he's gettin out. Still weird not ta have himaround home"

As Dodger spoke, Antony was giving him a thoughtful look. Though he didn't say it, it sounded to Tony remarkably like Dodger was feeling wistful, even nostalgic, about Wadi's new friend. It was a lot like listening to a cliched parent seeing their daughter or son go off with a new mate, which was an amusing light to see Dodger in.

But refraining from commenting on it, he merely gave Dodger a chuckle. "YOU aren't around that much either, Dodge."
