As the story ended, Salome yawned and blinked, giggling a moment later as she realised what she'd done. “It looks like I need the the sand Nequus,” she said with a nod, “I hope I get to see him one day, he sounds nice.” Yes, whenever she was sleepy she’d have to keep her eyes open for him; it was nice that he was a crossbreed like her. Maybe they’d be able to talk about it and be friends, though thinking about it the sand Nequus probably had a lot of magic friends... but then she was magic too, wasn’t she? She wouldn’t mention that to Elise though, it was her little secret and nobody would ever believe her if she told them. Those idiot colts the other week hadn’t even believed her when she’d shown them, the silly things.
The red-coated crossbreed yawned again and settled her wings more comfortably against her flanks, her tails more comfortably around her rump. “Are you going to sleep too, Elsie?” she asked of the story-teller with a sleepy smile.

As Elsie finished her tail she studied the small filly closely, a grin slowly forming on her muzzle. "Yes, looks like he came an' decided to visit ye. Ah think he visited me, too," she explained before she herself yawned; today had been slightly tiring, but it had been good. Every day was good, especially so if she could spend it playing and talking with foals, and telling them stories. Oh, how she loved to tell them stories. She needed to think of more.
"Ah think ah will, sweetie, if ye don' mind. Ah'll sleep here next t' ye if it'll make ye feel better," she offered, though wondered if the filly would really care. Perhaps she'd feel better if the elder Bae remained close by? Perhaps; she didn't exactly know how cross-breed foals felt, but... But she was alone as a foal, cast out into the world parent-less due to the selfishness of another, and she remembered she'd found comfort by sleeping near elders that were nice to her and told her stories, so maybe Salome would feel the same.

Salome gave another sleepy yawn and smiled over at the Bae mare. “Sure, company is nice.” It would mean that Annabelle couldn’t come back right away, but that was okay, she’d see the other crossbreed tomorrow instead of tonight and she was too sleepy to talk to her friend anyway. Annabelle tended to get fuzzy when she was tired, it was rather odd but she’d never mentioned it in case the other filly was sensitive about it.
“Well then,” the red-gold crossbreed flapped her wings a couple of times before nestling them back by her sides, “g’night miss Elsie; sleep well.” With these words and a last yawn, Salome closed her golden eyes and drifted into a peaceful sleep filled with dreams of the sand Nequus.

Elsie smiled and fluttered her butterfly wings a bit. Such a cute filly. The smile still on her face, the gray mare settled into a more comfortable position and flicked her tail once or twice before closing her eyes. She swiftly fell asleep, plagued by dreams of the adorable foals she'd met and played with and told stories to, accompanied by foals that looked strikingly like her. If only...
