I was an avid manga and anime fan before I discovered Lolita. When I found out about it, I was instantly in love with how cute everything was. My mom had bought me the manga because I saw it advertised, and my birthday was soon. So, I had to have the movie and novel as well. After I watched the movie, I subconsciously decided that I wanted to be a Lolita. Now, I look back on it, and I'm so glad everything happened the way it did. Now, i wear Lolita more freely, because when my mom and dad were still living together and married, I didn't want to wear it so much, because my dad had made fun of my the first time I made a headdress. I admit that my first headdress was a disaster, so I'm glad I perfected it. And, so, now i make them a lot better and wear it more because my best friend's family loves it and says I look cute in it. They don't consider me weird because Neal, Danielle's stepdad, is a pirate, so what "normal" people think is weird, he considers normal. So, I share a lot of my thoughts and dreams with them. Such as, I showed them my dream dress, and they said they hope I can reach my goal because I would look cute in it.
/rant

So, with that said, in many ways, us Lolitas are extremely similar, and we need to stick together, and when one of us strays a bit, others need to guide her/him back to the right path. (I hope that didn't sounds rude...)

No, it was a good story. By the way, what manga? Kamikaze Girls?

This one I didn't consider a rant. I was asking because you didn't say what manga it was. I've read the manga, have the novel, but never watched the movie. How does Anna Tsuchiya look as a lolita?

I'm sorry... sweatdrop I guess my lack of sleep is beginning to show in my writing... Anna Tsuchiya looks so cute as a Lolita! When I saw her, I just wanted to reach into the television, pull her out, and hug her! (Then, switch clothes with her! whee )

Aw. I've been trying to find pictures of her in lolita, but it's so hard. I guess I should wait and watch the movie.....if it's still out (referring to Sir Takemoto's dilemma).

I highly doubt you could get a picture. Before I got the movie, I tried to find some pictures as well, but had very bad luck. You should be able to get it still. It might be a little bit before all of his merchandise is taken completely away. I just wish he wouldn't have done it, because Lolitas, such as myself, are upset over his poor choice of actions.

*nods* I still admire him over Mana, especially has an writer and a good inspiration, but I wish that it never happened. Anna Tsuchiya is really perfect for Ichigo. It's cool that she has a Russian-American dad and her mom's Japanese.

I never had pretty Sunday dresses or anything. I was a tomboy from when I was born until I was thirteen. lol.

I would seriously throw massive fits if anyone tried to put me in a dress or skirt. I hated it. But despite hating that, I LOVED little tea parties with my grandmother. haha.

Now I have more dresses/skirts than jeans. hahaha.

I've been an anime fan ever since I was little, watching shows on the little TV in my grandma's livingroom... but more often than not it was 'boy' anime. hahaha. I didnt start reading Anime until I had moved back to the States. I happened upon Shonen Jump at Shopko and have been hooked ever since.

But then, the Card Captor Sakura fan in me gave way, and I went lolita. hahaha. I still read/watch boyish things, though.

I wish I had pictures... they're all in a basement 200 miles away from here. haha.

Looking back at my childhood photos, I recall being rather adamant upon wearing mary janes, tights, and petticoats.
No Joke. I was a real fashionista.
Makes it hard to believe that only a few years after those photos were taken, I refused to wear skirts 90% of the time and spent my days climbing trees, playing in creeks, riding bikes, and building tree forts. It wasn't until close to the time I discovered Lolita, really, that I returned to my feminine roots.
