His ear twitched as Vivi's manner changed yet again. He wasn't quite trusting of this new and abrupt switch, but the other pup basically said everything he wanted to hear, and never had. But even though he didn't trust that the female's words were as sincere as they seemed, he couldn't help how some of his tension eased out, even though he kept his head turned away from her and his nose upturned. He just couldn't resist hearing those words and letting his ego be stroked at last.
"Well," he began, still carrying on that haughty and superior tone. "At least now you're starting to understand things properly." Sadly, it didn't seem as though Chafuka would lose his over-inflated arrogance any time soon. He had puffed himself up to unbelievable heights of importance in his mind, and it would take monumental efforts to bring him back down again. And he would fight it tooth and claw every step of the way.

Lolovivi weathered Chafuka's coldness and arrogance with sunshine and a wide smile. After all, now that she understood exactly what he needed, she was enthralled as both a scientist and a deciple of love. She figured she had him all figured out, and as such, figured he would never really have the upper-hand on her, even if she had to cater to his ego for a while to get to him.
She nodded so hard her ears flopped about, and the flower which she wore nearly fell from her head. Carefully, she reached up to reposition it as she spoke to him. "So, would you mind terribly much to make a pretty necklace for me, since you're so good at making them?" she implored him with wide gold eyes. "I would be very greatful, and I'd be happy to help in any way I can!" Oh yes, she'd help. She'd help in ways he had no idea about. That was how Lolovivi operated... with stealth affection. Like the ninja of love.
She smirked a little to herself and tried to hide it by scratching her nose with a paw. Ninja of love. That was good. She'd have to remember that for later.

It had been going so well again... up until the point that Vivi tried to get some jewellery out of him again. Now, Chafuka may have a higher opinion of himself than he deserved under any circumstances, but it wasn't entirely unwarranted. He had quite a good head on his shoulders, and no matter how in thrall he was to the compliments she was giving him, he was not one to be so easily duped. His head snapped around to give the other pup a rather flat look.
"No," he said dryly. Like a big, pretentious bird, the little pup shook himself as though to get rid of the request. "Only special people get presents like that. You have to prove you're special!" Of course, he had absolutely no idea how she would go about doing that. But that was her problem, and not his. He would rather she didn't think of anything at all, so she wouldn't keep bugging him about the necklace. "And it depends on what they want, anyway. I don't have time to waste making necklaces for everyone. I have more important things to be doing."

As much love as Lovi had to give, constantly being stomped upon was getting rather tiresome. She pouted, and her ears snapped back. It was occuring to her now that, perhaps, not everyone in the world was meant to be a friend. Chafuka here was a prime example. She still couldn't help but feel bad for him, the poor thing was so desperate and alone in the multitudes of his family. Yet Lolovivi had tried everything in her power and nothing had worked.
So, scowling, she stood and backed off from him a bit. "I don't need to prove anything to you," she told him. "But if you want to see something special, I'll show you." Abruptly, she turned tail and trotted a ways across the grasslands. She would sure show him. She'd make her own necklace, she'd figure it out herself. It would be a thing of beauty, but more imporantly... it would be a thing of meaning. She'd show him the real meaning of special, and if he didn't see it, then she gave up on him for good.
This was all assuming, of course, that he didn't take off on her while she was away. He supposedly had "more important things to be doing," anyway. Lovi rolled her eyes at the very thought as she hunted through the grasses.

[XD You know... I really admire Lovi's persistence. No one else lasted this long in an RP with him. xD]He made no comment as she stomped off away from him and into the grass to make, unbeknownst to him, a necklace of her own. But he had to grudgingly admit in his head that he was a bit curious as to what she was doing. He couldn't be sure she really wasn't about to do something spectacular and force him to agree it was special, as much as it would pain him to do so. It left him feeling a little bit agitated.
He walked his way regally over to a rock and climbed up on it in a pretense of making himself look more important. At any other time, that would have been why he did it. As he sat down and arranged himself neatly with his tail around his forepaws, his head turned slightly so he could still see Lovi through the very corner of his half-closed eyes. That was the real purpose of being up so high: so she couldn't surprise him with anything amazing.

((Lovi is nothing if not determined. xd ))
Her mind driven by all her plans, Lolovivi rooted around in the tall grasses for only the cleanest, least frayed dry vines. She checked them against each other for color and texture. Everything must be perfect. Once satisfied with the vines she retrieved, by an elaborate process involving a stick, an anchoring rock, and a whole lot of spatial analysis and effort, the little wild dog girl managed to braid the vines. She grinned. "Just one more piece."
Of course, a great piece of jewlery must have a theme or a concept behind it. The concept for Lovi's necklace came easily to her; it was the one subject always at the forefront of her mind. How to represent it took a bit longer, but not too long. Circling about a small grove of trees, she managed to retrieve a black feather, a purple flower petal, and a pale green leaf. She brought these back and fixed them to the braid with extra pieces of vine, like little pendants. Then she tied it on like a choker and trotted back to where Chafuka sat with her head held high. She was perfectly aware he'd been watching her the whole time. She didn't care.
"Look here!" she said. "I figured out how to make a necklace all by myself. And what's more, I have one piece on it to represent my mother and each of my brothers." She sat before him and smiled wide. "It's a necklace built from love." Leaning in and putting her paws on his rock, she smirked. "I bet your necklace doesn't mean anything at all."
