Po stood there calmly, his eyes only on Canti.
"Its ok sweetie, I'm not afraid of him." He took her hand in his, lifting it to his lips before turning to Mitsuru. "Say what you want to say then."

Suru sneered and pulled the younger boy away, leavin Canti stranded on the porch where she waited looking agitated.
Suru tugged him down around to the side of the house where he pushed him, roughly, against the side of the house.
"Lookit, I will kill you if you hurt her again, got it? I have an extensive collection of katanas, all sharp and ready to use. I'm proficient with them all."

Po met his gaze calmly. His feelings for Canti stronger than ever, Po would let nothing separate them.
He replied simpy, knowing that nothing else would do. "I love her. If I hurt her, I hurt myself as well."

Suru studied him for a while, face still contorted with anger.
"She's my little sister. Believe me, I'll do much more damage to you then you'd ever have the constitution to do to yourself."
After a moment, jerked his head to the side, indicating he could go, and stormed off around to the back of the house.

Po leaned against the side of the house, his limbs shaking in spite of his bravado. He gathered himself together, then walked back to the front of the house

When she saw him coming back, all in one peice, Canti launched herself at Po, glomping him flat against the soft grass, and kissed him full on the mouth, unabashedly.
"You;re alive! This is great! And I missed you so much! I, like, totally thought about you everyday and I could have KILLED Mom for dragging us off like that without time to tell anyone and I'm so sorry I didn't say anything in the shop yesterday but you were on your way out and you were with that big group of people and . . . ."
She trailed off, grinning sheepishly, and scooted back so that he could sit up.
"Is Suru totally pissed?"

Thrown on to the grass, Po made no effort to avoid the object of his downfall.He wrapped his arms around her, kissing her back.
"I dont think your brother likes me much..."
"Big group of people...?" He thought about who was there last night...Akki...Lacuna...Jak! "Canti! you've got to meet him! He'll totally adore you, I know he will!"

She beamed and laid down on the grass next to him and snuggled against his side.
"Jak, huh? Mmm. I think I'd like that. To meet him, I mean. And I'd like to say hi, to Akki, too. But some other time. I need to make sure Suru is all right. When he gets mad, he hurts himself sometimes, because he slams around and stuff."
As she said it, there was a loud crash from inside the house, and Canti wiced.
"See? I'm sorry, babe."
((I need to go and call the boyfriend after . . . meh, two more posts, maybe. >< I might be back later tonight, though.))

Releasing her, he stood up and followed the banging to Mitsuru. He stood in the doorway and calmly told him, "I would never willingly break her heart, but if I did, I will stand right here and let you do what you want with me. She means more to me than my own life, and I'd willingly die for her."

Suru glared out the bedroom door at him. His knuckes were bloody and there was a slight dent in the wood of his entertainment center. Without a word, he reached out with his foot and shu the door in Po's face.
Canti had followed him, but stayed out of sight through Po's speech. When the door closed, she came up, smiling and looped her arm into Po's.
"Lookit that! He likes you! Well, sort of, he didn't throw a shuriken at you."
She led him down to the front door.
"I can handle it from here, babe. I'll come by and see you tomorrow, as soon as I can, and meet your new friends, okay?"
She smiled warmly and kissed him gently, nuzzling his nose lightly.
((And on that note, gotta jet. Will you wrap this up for me? 4laugh ))

"He...likes...me?" Dazed, Po followed her to the door, then gave her directions to the bookstore. Holding her close he returned her kiss, held her tight for a moment, then went out the door whistling quietly to himself.
Time enough tomorrow to tell her about Jakkin

Cantique closed the door behind Po, and went back up to her brother's room ,knocking quietly.
"Suru, it's me. Can we talk?"
He opened the door,a nd looked down at his sister, a strange expression on his face,
"Nothing to talk about. You're all grown up, I can't take care of you like you're a little kid anymore."
"Meaning?"
"Meaning if you like him . . . if you like him, there has to be something good about him,a dn I'll tolerate him."
Canti beamed brightly and there was a slight pause. Suru pointed back onto his weapon littered walls.
"But ONE wrong move from him, Cantique-"
"I know, I know."
Cantique kissed her brother on the cheek and turned on her heel, leaving him in the fumes of his own anger.

Po strolls down the street stopping in front of Canti's house.
He paused a moment, winced at the thought of Mitsuru answering the door, then walked up to the door and knocked.

Canti came back up the walk to her home after going to the bookstore to meet Po. She still held the blue package in hand. She sa him on the porch and went forward, quietly, putting her hands over his eyes and whispering against the back of his neck.
"I missed you."
