I play the flute, and sometimes, I wish I played the clarinet or percussion. They always looked fun.

I've switched quite a few times to get experience in different areas. I originally switched from flute to trumpet and I've been playing French horn and a bit of percussion lately.

Im fine with what I play now, percussion, but if I had to choose some other than percussion it would be trumpet or trombone.

I've wanted to try saxaphone.. But I'm good with percussion.
Heh, even the teachers like trying out our instruments. It's kinda funny until they break something.

yea, i played clarinet in 4th grade, but i quit because the music teacher told me 2 get out of his room cause i was wasting his time because i couldn't play this 1 note. i went home crying and quit *i was in 4th grade, give me a break* then in 5th grade i picked up piano. well in 9th grade i tried flute, nd while i was learning that, i played all mallet percussion, since it looked like a piano nd i played piano. (i then traded my flute 4 a bell kit and snare drum) then from mallet percussion (which i still play) i went to the drumline in band playing the bass drum in stands, cymbols on the field, and bells in pit. nd next year, i might play either bass or electric guitar 4 when we're on the field since no1 else can mrgreen so basically, i only picked piano then i guess everything else chose me, but i do wish i could play the alto sax, that'd b cool heart

I was originally a flute player. When I was three, I saw my cousin playing hers and thought it was the coolest thing ever. She's the reason why I joined band. I started playing it in fifth grade, but by the time I hit the middle of seventh, I realized that the flute didn't suit me. I liked it, but I didn't love it.
I thought of playing trombone, but I never really had a reason to switch. At the end of last year, though, two of our five French horn players left our horn section and our flute section already had nineteen flutes. The band director suggested that some flutes think about switching, and I did. I love it. :3 I just wish I would've considered playing horn years ago.

Well, I play trumpet, and I never wanted to play it, but my dad had his old trumpet so I played that to save money, before that I wanted to play sax, flute, or drums. And now since we have too many trumpets, I want to try French Horn...but, I couldn't just abandon my trumpet like that. emo

I had basically the same situation. except I hated flute and most of my section hated me. so then last year I switched to tuba. I love it soo much. heart the only bad thing is, most people think I only switched so I could march and that was only part of the reason. there were too many flute players, and I really wasn't happy playing the flute. have I said I love my tuba?

I play drums currently. I don't think I'd want to stop, but it would be fun to play tuba or trombone too! It didn't seem like I had much of a choice at what I played though. 'Cause when I was in 6th grade, our music teacher asked me to play bass drum at a concert the next night. I hadn't played before, but accepted. After that, I was apparently expected to continue band, though I hadn't really wanted to. But, now I am percussionist.
