Holden was a little surprised Adair offered to help clean. He figured it would be just him and Tristan, or maybe even just him. He calmed down a little at this
"Alright," Tristan nodded, "I'll go get the cleaning stuff." He left but he wasn't gone all that long. There was the sounds of him rummaging through a cupboard and what could have been swearing and then running water. In a moment he returned with a bucket filled with soapy water.
"There we go," He said moving into the room and placing the bucket down on the floor and setting down the small dark green sponges that are meant for scrubbing ((I don't know what they're called, I use them at work but we call them the scrubby things)).

Adair moved over to grab the sponges, something that accepted his claws easily and went straight for the big mess as he started to clean, his tounge slipping out from between his lips as he moved determained. he wasn't that honorable, not really, just every now and then something struck him as wrong nad he would try to fix it. This was his wrong.
Kainda was a little impressed and so she grabed a sponge and bent down to help the toddler out. He was cleaning up his own mess but that didn't mean that she couldn't help. Besides, Holden was such a neat freak, she could tell by his room, he was probably super upset over a possible stain.
Adair was fighting that possblity though, scrubing hard to get rid of the stain, part of him kinda unhappy that he didn't do anything actively wrong, just a few acidents. His claws could be dangerous aparently.

Holden took up a sponge too and began to scrub furiously at his carpet to get the ink out. Considering the state of panic he had been in only a few moments before he was fairly calm, if not happy now. He was cleaning, which in itself cheered him up and he was glad for the help. He hadn't expected, but he was getting it none the less and he smiled a little.
Tristan helped too of course. Taking up a sponge and getting to work. "At least this stuff seems to be coming out fairly easy. I've seen some stuff a lot worse," he said trying to make conversation as they cleaned.

"Getting washable markers have to be good for this." Kainda agreed as she scrubed away at the foot print and looked up to see that Adair had one partially blue foot. She didn't say anything, figuring they could clean it in a moment. Adair seemed focused on fixing his mistake.
"Sorry for making a mess. Not use to my claws." Adair told Holden, looking up at the racoon and gave him that devilish grin. The dazeling kind that was made just to make others forget your faults. Or at least you hope so when you gave the grin. "So why do you keep everything so clean?"

"S'okay," Holden mumbled his reply, "dirty bad." He stayed rather focused on the task at hand but glanced up to catch the grin and gave a small smile back. He was a pretty nice guy, he hadn't meant to make the mess and now he was helping. The flaws were forgiven.
"I think he might have OCD, just a minor case but still." Tristan said, "He does it with his food too." He had been meaning to take the boy to a psychiatrist for some time to get his odd behavior looked at. But right now they were doing fine, why subject the boy to that when he didn't need to. It could come back to bite both of them in the a** in the future, but Tristan didn't much think about the future, just past and present.

"Some dirty." Adair agreed as he scrubed at the ink stains away. He was glad to see Holden wasn't holding it against him. It wasn't that he particarly liked or disliked the boy but Adair liked being liked, and the idea of someone disliking him made him feel sad, so he worked extra hard to make sure to get this mess cleaned up.
Kainda looked to the boy and tilted her head. She was honestly more concered with his lack of vocal skills. It was clear he could talk, just chose not too, which was odd to her. What kid chose to to not express himself? What did he want to hide?
"Those can be pretty hit and miss. I was with one once, didn't do jack squat." Kainda admited easily. She wasn't in for a mental problem, just her rebellionious. Her parents tried everything but talking and listening to her. "I'd suggest you try to just get closer to him first honestly. There's something anoying about a stranger wanting to know all your close personal feelings."

It seemed the stain was coming out quite well and by now with the four of them at work it was almost a thing of the past.
"Yeah, I'm not going to do anything yet. He can function normally for the most part so he doesn't need it," Tristan said nodding, "and I'd like to think that if anything bad did come up I could figure it out myself."

Adair glanced over his shoulde rot look at the adults then looked at Holden. Did he need help? Adair wondered why. He moved closer to the boy, as the ink started to fade so did his fear over not being forgiven.
"So why do you wash your food?" Adair asked, eager to learn more about this new strange boy who might or might not need help. Adair didn't know if he could help or even if he wanted to, he just wanted to know why it was needed.
"Good, parents should always try to help their kids before passing off the problem to someone else." kainda said firmly, not because she knew but because she felt the otherwise, strongly otherwise.

Holden looked up from his work for a moment and gave a slight shrug, "S'dirty." It was a good enough reason for him. If something was dirty it needed to be washed right? It just seemed to make sense in his mind.
Tristan nodded, he agreed whole heartedly. His mother had been good at that, she always looked after him. His father... not so much. There were reasons he didn't talk to his father much anymore.
"Well it looks like we're pretty much done," Tristan said happily as he looked at the carpet.

"But doesn't the food taste icky when it's washed?" Adair asked, looking down at what use to be a stain and smiled. It was fine now, good, he didn't want to be remembered for something that was basically clumbsiness. Adair sat back and looked to Kainda and Tristian.
"Just seems a little silly to me." Adair admited.
Kainda looked up at Adair. he wasn't big on holding things back for manner's sake and in a way...Kainda was kinda glad. He said what he meant and was upfront with his personality. That meant he'd never have to fear about people not liking the true him. Or at least getting into realtionships with people not liking the true him.

Holden shrugged once more. He didn't eat food when it wasn't cleaned so he didn't really know if he was missing out on something or not. He didn't care either. Its not like he could stop after all, so Adair could think it was silly if he wanted.
Tristan smiled and held back a laugh at the young boy's bluntness. It wasn't a bad thing it was just rare and a little amusing. He was happy that the boys seemed to be getting a long too. Both he and Holden needed friends.

"Have you ever thought about trying food without washing it?" Adair asked as he sat back, looking around, "You know, too see if anything bad happens? I mean other people do it, so it can't be that bad." Adair asked, more interested than accusitory.
Kainda watched the boys carefully, then smiled as she got up. The carpet was clean, they weren't needed anymore. "We should go now, let the boys bond." Kainda said to Tristian, reaching down to help him up.

Tristan watched th boys for a second before nodding and taking Kaindra's hand to help himself up.
Holden gave Adair a slightly funny look. He supposed it did make sense, nothing bad happened to Tristan when they ate. But why would he take that chance? Maybe the one piece of food he didn't wash would be the really dirty one, the one that did him in, thats why he needed to wash every bit. It would have been hard to explain in his tiny sentences so he shrugged again and muttered, "different." though he didn't really expect to be understood.

Kainda smiled as she headed down stairs again, "Well, they seem to be getting along a little at least." Kainda said, as she looked over her shoulder, "At least I think so. Did you ever bond with any one growing up over stains and cleaning?" Kainda joked.
"Different?" Adair asked slowly, tilting his head in confusion as his tail flicked back and forth. "What do you mean different?"

Tristan laughed a little and shook his head, "I don't know if normal people do, but Holden might."
Holden let out a bit of a sigh. Adair seemed to keep trying to get him to talk, couldn't he see that the raccoon boy clearly didn't like doing so? "Not clean, s'different," He tried to explain, "s'wrong."
