Sable waited for Brad to talk with Jahzara, smiling slightly when she corrected his nickname. It was true, he thought. Kids really could bring out the best or the worst in someone. Brad didn't seem so bad. Better than Juno, anyways. (Why was he comparing him to Juno? Juno could make the Grinch Who Stole Christmas look like a saint.) Anyways. They had finished talking. He better start pushing Jahzara now. If she was anything like his son, the girl might start whining pitifully until he did. "Fast?" he asked. He wanted to make sure he wasn't going to scare her. In the meantime, he pulled back and gave her an easy swing. Not too fast, but enough to keep her interested. (Being interested was very, very important, as Leviathan would tell you.)

Meanwhile, little Leviathan was watching his dad and his new friend when Zara's daddy started speaking to him. The little lobster boy twisted, fingers stuffed in his mouth as he considered his options. He could still see his daddy and Zara if he sat on the other swing. "Push!" he cried, clamoring up on to the nearest swing. He gave Brad an expactant look, sticking his legs out in front of him before twisting to look at the cheetah girl. "Raaaaaace!" he announced. He'd win. Even if she was already winning.

"Eeeuuuuah?!" The cat-girl gave an inarticulated noise as the swing started to move. It seemed as though the thing was going to fly up and up...but no! It swung backwards, and before she could register another sound of surprise, she felt gentle hands on her back, ushering her forward again. Back and forth...it was lulling, like a really big rocking chair. Rather than be excited and screaming her glee, Zara used her legs to help with the motion, starting to purr. Sable was about to get a hand massage each time he pushed her.

The older man chortled, pulling the swing back with the boy in it, bringing it to waist-height before releasing it. Brad found that to be an easier alternative than just pushing a child. He chuckled as he watched Sable and his daughter, almost finding it strangely cute that they were pushing each other's children. Cute in a disturbing way, but Brad found most things pertaining to children to be that way. "The only 'fast' she knows is my driving. For all our safety, don't go that fast."

He quirked an amused smile to Sable before concentrating on the boy in his care. "Okay big guy, let's win this!" He made a grand show of preparing to push, scrunching his 6'4" body to half his height, placing his large hands on the small boy's back before giving a greatly over exaggerated push that sent the boy higher, but not nearly as much as he body language would have suggested.

"Thrrrs is niccrrr." Jahzara was extremely content to be pushed as she was, forgetting that someone other than her father was pushing her, her feline gaze moving over to him. She could see him and Levi, and that was good enough! She was vaguely aware of Sable each time he pushed, and was rewarded with an influx of purring.

Leviathan screeched with delight as Brad made a show of pushing him, kicking his legs wildly. This was...what was the word Rook used? Oh right! This was ******** awesome! The teal-haired boy laughed out loud and twisted to try and look back at Brad, continuing to cackle and shout. "Yeeeee!" he said, which would properly be translated to 'you are the best swing-pusher ever!'. Yes, even better than his daddy. His daddy was definitely the careful sort...and he never let Levi do anything exciting.

Sable tried not to look as Brad let Leviathan swing higher. Too high! But what would the other man say when Sable started hysterics? Exactly. It was better to keep to himself. Levi couldn't get too hurt, right? A fall from a swing couldn't- Sable swallowed nervously. He should just focus on pushing Jahzara. She didn't want to go that high anyways; he couldn't handle this. In fact, the young scientist even smiled a bit as the young girl spoke and purred at the same time. "I-I'm glad you l-like it," he managed. Well. As long they were bother having fun...

"HIIIIIIIIIIIGHER!" Leviathan squealed, pumping his legs harder.

...oh dear. Oh dear indeed.

Despite the great show of effort of pushing the small child in the small swing, the not-so-small Brad was being very careful with managing the boy's height. If he thought Leviathan was gaining too much altitude, he would grab the swing as though he was going to push with all his might, actually using the grip to slow the swing down. Half of playing with a child was in appearance, and that was one thing the human had learned very fast with his cat-child.

Jahzara herself was practically in a Zen-like mood, content to be pushed with a few lazy pumps of her chubby legs. She rolled her spotted head back from time to time to look up at Sable as she swung back towards him, slitted eyes bright with adoration. Oh yes, she was quite fond of anyone (or thing) that could bring her a measure of calm and comfort. She opened her mouth, wanting to say, 'Thanks, Sable, this is fun!,' but what came out sounded more like, "Thrrrrr Srrrble, s'rrr..." with a lot more rumbling inbetween.

Brad was hoping that Jazhara's very little height gain would help Leviathan think he was practically soaring. "Careful kiddo, you're about the reach the clouds," he intoned amicably, chuckling at the boy's enthusiasm. Levi was acting much as Jahzara did while engaged in a favored activity, so he wasn't in the least bit uncomfortable. Truly, it was had to make him uncomfortable at all, and he was content to play The Great Swing Pusher if it would please Leviathan.

Fortunately for all involved, Levi was too concerned with the feel of wind rushing around him to notice he never managed to get past a certain height. It must have been pretty high, Leviathan was good at clinging to things and was never in any real danger. Besides, if, by some very obscure chance Leviathan should actually fall, the little boy would probably just laugh the entire thing off. He seemed indestructible, from the outside at least.

Sable chuckled when all the small girl managed to do was purr at him, but he was pretty sure that had to be a good thing. What cat didn't purr if he was unhappy? So he just smiled and nodded, having no idea what she actually said, but at least he heard her and appreciated the smile. He turned to Brad, opening his mouth to make a comment when his cell phone started to ring. Oh dear! He frantically pulled it out with one hand, trying to keep Jahzara satisfied with the other.

To his relief, it was only Rook on the other line and no one he should be frightened of (or should he?). Three seconds later, he got his answer.

"...what do you mean, you blew up pancakes in the kitchen...?"

The cat-girl had contentedly allowed herself to be moved languidly, her tail arching lazily with each push and pull. Her round ears flicked as the phone rang, eyes opening from their slitted position to look up at Sable, her purrs dimming as his tone of voice changed. Her daddy used that tone, and it was usually before she was told 'no,' 'get down' or 'don't eat that.' Someone was going to get a no-no, and she was privately glad it wasn't her!

Brad grasped Leviathan as Sable's expression changed, holding the boy high as though to push, although the push never came. Indeed, he was suspended in air as the older man noted the words that earned an ill-hidden grin. He carefully lowered the small boy back to land-level, reaching down to pluck him right out of his seat. "Seems your dad is about ready to go," he remarked kindly, holding the boy with little to no effort before setting him upon the ground carefully.

Jahzara was out of her seat and running (waddling) towards her father, jealousy making her forget the kind-faced Sable. "Ah-da!" she cried out, extending her arms, "pick me up! Me up!"

The man obliged automatically and without much thought, large hands wrapping around the small torso to lift the cat-girl to her favored perch. Her squeals of delight brought a small smile as he settled her legs around his neck, not even wincing as her tiny, strong hands curled into his hair for leverage. He held onto her legs as they kicked, lowering his head as she leaned over it to wave at Leviathan. Oh yes, this was definitely the best perch out there!

"Levi win," she proclaimed from her throne, eluding to the contest that she had neither cared about nor understood. All she knew is she had two friends and a good time to chatter about.

Sable was going to kill those boys someday. Honestly, Saint was about seventeen and Rook was close to the maturity (hahaha, yeah right) of a twenty-year-old. Shouldn't they be able to handle something as simple as cooking pancakes without blowing up the kitchen? He was sure someone (probably Saint) was injured or something was on fire (also, probably Saint), or Rook wouldn't have called. He wasn't taking responsibility, no, quite the opposite, really. He detested taking care of messes, so he called Sable. Sable, being Sable, rushing home to fix the disaster.

Leviathan, on the other hand, was not so impressed, huffing a great sigh when Brad ended their game. Poo on his daddy! His daddy was always ruining all his fun! He stepped sideways so Zara could keep playing with her daddy, but his? Noooo. His daddy was making him go home! Leviathan hrumphed unhappily, folding his arms over his chest as he stalked over to his dad. Stupid daddy. He looked up at his dad and snorted unhappily.

Sable sighed as he hung up the cell, and leaned over to scoop Levi up. He glanced over to Brad and smiled apologetically. "S-sorry," he muttered. "I n-need to go home." He shook his head, petting Leviathan's hair. He felt bad, taking him away from his new friend. "B-but feel free t-to drop by sometime." And with that, he gave a wave and set off briskly towards his flat, Leviathan hollering a good-bye as they went.
