"Good" Wrath said blankly to Elruda. "Now learn the Henge no jutsu." He said quite bluntly before he transformed into a bear and then back to himself.

Elruda quickly thought of what to transform into and decided on a certain small animal quite symbolic of the Hyuuga house. There was no way she's going to end up in one of those pits. "Henge!" She shouted. A puff of smoke appeared.

Nothing happened. Elruda sighed before forming the handseal again. "Henge!" She yelled once more. Something better happen this time or she might lost her patience once more.

This time she successfuly turned into a turtledove. Birds, especially the songbird and the dove, were part of Hyuuga tradition in honor of the ancient clan leader, Hyuuga Hinata. But that story can be saved for another time. Elruda decided. She quickly undid the transformation before trying again. "Henge!" Another puff of smoke appeared.

Nothing happened. Elruda sighed. This would take some time but she did not expect to master the jutsu that easily. After all, practice makes perfect. Elruda made a mental note to herself on meditating once training was done, to elevate her patience and self control. "Henge!" She yelled again.

This time she transformed into a tree. A very small tree, mind you, but it was still recognizable as a plant and not as a human girl. Once again, Elruda undid the transformation. "Ok! Once more, Henge!" Another puff of smoke engulfed her.

The smoke came but nothing had happened. By now, Elruda was beginning to lose her patience. But unlike throwing a tantrum immediately like last time, the Hyuuga continued with the Jutsu. "Henge!!" She cried. Hopefully, this time, the Jutsu would work.

Yet still nothing happened. Elruda was getting annoyed but she did her best not to throw another tantrum. It was very dishonorable, on top of being plain embarassing. "HENGE!" She yelled.

And this time, Elruda successfully turned into a rock. With a puff of smoke, Elruda transformed back. "Looks like I'm not going in the pit today, sensei." She murmured, smiling sweetly.

Wrath laughed at Elruda's comment and then picked up a near by stone. And in and instant he and the stone changed places. "Now perform the kawarimi no jutsu." He remarked back.
Kawarimi - Switch places with an object.

"Right." She nodded, before quickly forming the proper handseal and cried "Kawarimi no Jutsu!" It didn't really matter if her first attempt was a failure or not but Elruda secretly hoped it would work.

Nothing happened. Well, Elruda hadn't expected to master Kawarimi on the first try, as it was harder than the previous Jutsus, so she again formed the handseal with her hands, long fingers held rigidly still. "Kawarimi no Jutsu!" She shouted, still attempting to perform the Replacement technique.

But fate decided to abandon her once more as nothing happened. However, the Hyuuga remained undaunted, at least she hadn't abandoned her confidence yet. "Kawarimi no Jutsu!" She murmured, this time her a voice a bit more stern and quiet.

Yet still no result rewarded her best efforts. Elruda gritted her teeth. This Jutsu was harder than she expected. "Kawarimi no Jutsu!" She shouted again. By now, her hands felt a bit stiff from holding up the seals for the Replacement technique.
