tearsandrainbows Nanami.x.Yuki NeverMoreBlue Any age is suitable for Loli but the usual is 19 and under and when you start getting a bit older Aristocrat. 19?! i was wanting to go loli until 27 then on aristrcrat 19 is still really young so I'm not sure what that poster is talking about. a large portion of the lolis i know of on egl are over 19. 27 is fine for lolita. Sounds like maybe she's going by the Japanese standards?... Screw Japanese standards. 20 doesn't mean you have to grow up. XD

I think that any age is good...
Honestly...
I also have to say that I have seen some eighty year old ladies looking fabulous in Victorian Aristocratic long dresses...
They have to look like mature loli though!
So you see...
I think that whatever age you like. heart

I agree with any age, but delve into more mature styles as you grow up. Personally, if I saw a 40 year old woman in a baby pink frilly lolita outfit, I would worry about her. sweatdrop

Hun, i'm 18. I have every intention of continuing to be loli until the day I die. If you like it, why stop?

I think it works the other way around, as well XD You dont have to wear sweet if your young, and you dont have to wear aristo when your 20-30 XD As long as you look good in it ^_^ heart heart heart heart

I saw an old woman dressed in Classic/country lolita. It was the cutest thing in the whole effing world!
(In other words; as long as you still like it, keep wearing it)

I agree with this heart Why preach individuality and counterculturalism as a lolita if you're going to prescribe these rules as to when you have to stop being who you are because you no longer look the part?

I'll be 20 this summer but apparently I still look 15. I went into a jewelry store yesterday and my mother mentioned that I will marry within the next year or so and their reaction is always the same when I tell them my real age. As long as I look young enough I will continue on with the occasional sweet look but eventually as I grow older, I will keep the elegant look but step out of the sweet and child-like style that I am able to pull off now. There is always the possibility that our tastes will change as we age but my love for Victorian Elegance has been everlasting.

I've posted before on this thread and my opinion on things is mostly the same. It's not how old you are, but how old you look and how you pull things off. To be honest, at least two of the best lolitas I know are both above the age of thirty. Both of them are gorgeous ladies and a bit edgier than the "norm" [for American lolitas anyway] and I think I'd be very sad if they suddenly up and quit "just because they grew too old for it" or something.
If it suits you, wear it. If you like it, wear it. End of story, for me.

My feelings on the matter of age...well, they've changed quite a bit over the past few seasons. Warning, this is a bit long^^;
As the months went by and my nineteenth birthday came around slowly I began to worry if it was too late to start adorning the beautiful clothing that I so admired. To feel as elegant as those younger than I who could ever so happily wear the clothes that they pleased...
And then I realized.
In the end...besides the lifestyle that one can adorn as well with lolita...
The truth of the matter was, they were still just clothes. And that was all they could ever be.
And I realized, without me in them, to admire and love them as any good-natured lolita would, they would only be to anyone else... "just clothes". It was the person who wore them that made them special. And so long as that person felt just as delighted as they should in them...why should frivilous things such as age be an issue?
It was, in the end, all about appearence..."looking good" to other people, when all I only wanted was to wear what pleased me, not others! And so, it struck me how foolish I had been...to think that age would ever be an issue. So long as I was happy in what I wore, I wouldn't care for a moment what people thought of me.
And so I say to you...age is never an issue. You're only limit to wearing lolita is what you want it to be. As for me...I think I'll keep on wearing what makes me happy, even if others don't always agree.
