Iandra quietly giggled under her breath, and listened to what she had to say, then she spoke up,"You cannot hide from me, m'lady. I am one of the 3 Witch Leaders, and I can see through any disguise." She said in her cool and collected tone of voice. "Plus, if you were not the heiress, why would you be guarded so closely? Unless..you were another being of importance..." She said, now she seemed to be teasing the heiress, especially with the bold and unphased look in her dark eyes.

Her demonic steed whinneyed quietly, now bored and incontent with the present situation. Yet, Iandra would not let this priceless catch escape her clutches so easily.

Evion hummed, as if thinking. Truthfully, though, she was rotating the information in her mind as if it were piece of an unidentifiable gem. One of the three witches... After me? Father definitely could not have seen this...

"Well, then, madam. If you must know why a woman must be guarded so well... Do you not think that any wealthy father, fearing for his daughter's life, would not go to such lengths to procure an escort of-" She looked back as if to count. "Three. Three guards?" Evion turned back to the Witch, her expression a look of defiant boredom.

The guards sat glaring at the supposedly young woman. However, they believed that there was little they could do to protect their charge if the Witch should decide to attack.

She was steady and quiet for a moment after the heiress had spoken, her face which once was very devious and mischevious was now serious and possibly even dangerous.
"Why would a wealthy father's daughter be traveling outside of the sanctity of her humble uphold?" She said, as if to interrogate the woman, she too seemed to be becoming bored of the situation. This woman wasn't as interesting as she had hoped, she was merely a hume of insignifigance to her, and would pose no challenge or threat.
"Anyway. If you do not require my professional services of protection, then I believe I am needed elsewhere."She said, then she kicked the sides of her demonic steed and they passed the heiress.

'What a waste of a life..' Iandra thought to herself.

Carmen had wasted enough time already, trying to prepare for the arrival of the star she had shaken loose from the heavens. She had seen the bright flash through the sky, and had watched it closely so that she might now know where it had fallen. She had an old map, curled and browning with age, of all the lands. She had a small gem, a tiny blue sapphire that was almost identical to the one she had thrown into the sky, resting over a dense forest in which she was sure to find her fallen star. There was a rather maniacal grin crossed over her old lips as she looked over the route she had plotted out. Now only one thing remained.

She walked across the long hall that was the throne room, more of a shuffle than an actual walk. She stopped at the long table, which held a rather odd looking box. It was not overly decorative, so that it would not draw too much attention. But any of the witches who entered that room knew what it hid within it. It was sealed by magic, so that only a select few could access what remained of the last stolen star heart. Carmen had plans to change this magical lock, once she had attained the new star. No one knew of her plans to keep the heart to herself, for she had told no one of them. Such treacherous thoughts could not be voiced, could not even be focused on, for there were many spies and traitors in Dresnia.

She moved one knarled hand over the lid of the box, and a series of clicks indicated that it had been unlocked. She took a large chunk of the remaining heart, leaving only a pea sized piece. She walked over to the long mirror that rested to one side of the room, looking up at her rather hideous features. She grimaced as she stared at the crippled old woman before her, wondering how anyone could even stand to see such a thing. She then opened her hand, the glow of the heart lighting the room around her. In one swift motion, she devoured it. At first, nothing happened, but it took time for the star's magic to take affect. Soon, her body began to change. Her old bones were revived to those of a young woman, her skin was smooth and fine once more. The spots of age, which had covered her body, were gone, as were her wrinkles. Her hair, once thin and white, thickened and grew out, becoming lucious and silky lock of brown. Her eyes, which had always been their brilliant auburn colour, seemed to sparkle with the youth she felt flowing through her body once more. Her curves, which had been disguised by age, became feminine and well rounded once more.

She grabbed the cloak she wore, her long and slender fingers clutching the fabric. She pulled the cloak from her body, now standing stark naked in front of the mirror. A rather cold cackle pierced through the air as she moved over to grab some clothes she had laid out earlier. She had spent far too long in that old body to not show off the new revitalized look she had. She put on a top, which was truthfully no more than a violet bra, and a matching violet skirt. She pulled up a pair of fishnet stocking, which covered her legs entirely, and pulled a pair of violet boots on. She then picked up a rather lavish cloak, the same violet colour as the rest of her outfit, but trimmed with a creamy-white coloured fur and with a golden trim around the front. She then walked over to a table which held a rather intricately designed hat. It was a hat that she had worn most of her life, and it was something she used to signify who she was. She picked up up and placed it over her head, now walking back over to the mirror to check out her new look. She smiled in that twisted way of hers, a smile that was dark and sinister, yet seemed to hold a lustful and seductive quality to it. Now she was ready to leave.

She made her way through the castle, her step holding a slight bounce to it, showing her excitement. She threw open the doors and stepped out into the courtyard. Her carriage waited on a path that lead out of the castle, through the gates. A servant waited there, ready to take her where she needed to go. She grinned as she stepped up inside the carriage, and with a whip of the reins, the carriage rolled off down the path. She would only take this carriage until she reached the forest, then she would likely have to take a horse, or possible even travel on foot. Either way, she did not mind, for in this new youthful state, she could do either without tiring.

"Guards?" Fox repeated, sitting up a bit. He still seemed unconvinced; after all, why would a lady be fleeing her guards? Fox fully relaxed after the woman cantered around to the men of her own free will, sheathing his sword and smiling. "My apologies, mi-" the heir began, but pausing in surprise when she turned directly to Angel.

Angel, for his part, was feeling pretty uncomfortable with this situation. Damint Fox! This is why you wear your clothing and I wear mine! he thought, exasperated. The servant licked his lips, knowing he was expected to speak now. So he just said what he thought Fox would. "We're sorry. We simply thought you were being... accosted by highwaymen or something of the sort," Angel said, glancing over at Fox. The grey-haired man gave him a discreet thumbs-up and a smile. Angel's eyes moved back to the young woman, but fortunately, their conversation was interrupted just then.

It was a woman on a horse as black as night, but Angel couldn't really care less. He just wanted to go back to being a normal servant and stop pretending he was a noble. It was all well and good when it was just Fox and he, but with other people around, especially other high-borns - ! Angel flicked his head to the side, frantically trying to catch Fox's attention. And when that didn't work, he just grabbed his master's hand and yanked him off into the forest for a moment.

Fox huffed once they were settles. "Angel, why'd you do that? That lady looked.... off," the heir said, looking over his shoulder to where the others were still conversing. Angel gave his friend a frustrated look. "Fox, give me back my clothes. You need to play your part, now - that lady is clearly high-born as well, and I would rather not be arrested for impersonating a noble," the servant said, already stripping off the fancy coat he was wearing. Fox couldn't help but grin, then laugh a little bit. "Oh, you know I wouldn't let them take you," the grey-haired man said congenially, though he also began to strip. Angel smiled to himself; he knew Fox was telling the truth. His master would probably kill anyone who tried, even, and how many servants could say that?

The two were stripped and changed in less than a minute. Angel's clothing was simple, per normal, and even Fox's attire was rather simple for a nobles. It was, after all, for travel, and Angel could help Fox with the last little details. When they emerged from the forest and mounted their horses again the woman on the black horse was cantering away. Fox looked out at her as she rode off, his eyes more calculating than one would guess they could be. Angel was just happy to be a servant again.

Fox looked to the noble lady, then smiled. "Charming, wasn't she?" he said dryly. Did he know? No, but he could guess, and guess he did. Fox's guesses were usually correct. He nudged his palomino closer to the girl, offering a hand. "I am Crispian Drummond, called Fox for short. And you, my lady?" Fox asked, his smile charming. Angel just gave her a small bow, deciding that he would let Fox explain just why he had been dressed like a servant and just why he no longer was. After all, talking his way out of trouble was a talent of his master's.

Quietly, she strolled through the forest, now long past the heiress. She was obviously bored, attempting to scope out new targets or victims, thought she could feel no presences in this area that were even remotely close to her own power and strength.
She sighed and pat her demonic steed's firey mane, "I'm sure we'll find someone of value. I guess we just have to be patient." She said to her steed as they made their way to the nearest town. She hoped that she would find a bar of somesort, possibly to drown herself in alchohol, or maybe even find some strange characters.

She found her way into the city of Dresnia, not afraid to enter the city upon her night mare's back, even though it made her plainly stand out among normal folk. She made her way to the nearest bar and entered it, slyly walking up to the counter and sitting on a stool. There weren't many people here yet, it was still early in the day, but it would give her time to ponder her next actions.

Matari continued to pack her clothes, as she had been for all morning. Her royal bedroom was beginning to be much less a royals, with all her clothes going everywhere. The solid chestnut doors swung open as a rather plump man walked in with a slightly reddened face. "Daughter, why is it that you tarry for such a time?" Matari had her reasons for taking her time, most of which were not about to be discussed with her father, the king of Lucasta.
Father, I am merely making sure that everything I need will be there, when I need it. Perhaps you have finished readying the convoy?" She spoke with her back to the king.
The king's face reddened with anger.
"Daughter, you know this meeting is very important, however you seem uninterested in attending it. Yes the convoy is ready, as it has been for the last two hours, it waits for you.
Matari smiled, and stood up to face her father.
"Excellent, tell them I will be down shortly, and please take my things for my father." She got up and turned to hand the box full of clothes to the king. The king shouted for a servant to do the menial task. The king was then satisfied that his daughter would be on the road soon, and left her. Matari went back into her closet for one last outfit. It was her favorite outfit, and the one she used to travel in the most. it was behind all of her royal outfits, and looked like nothing more than a common green cloak. She grabbed the cloak, and put it on, covering her face as much as she could.
It was always so interesting how she would find herself escaping from her own castle, but it provided an excitement like nothing else could. She slowly opened the large chestnut doors, and began her escape.
It took only one flight of stairs before she ran into someone, turning her face toward the wall, she listened to the others' footsteps as they passed. She made her way toward the kitchen avoiding as much eye contact as she could, but still walking through the grand halls as though she weren't of royal descent. The door to the kitchen was much like her doors, and they always squeaked when someone entered. Matari waited for someone else to go in, occupying her time with flora. The kitchen was filled with the cooks, and she knew they would recognize her soon.]

"Knzako"She said softly and burst through the kitchen, the cooks were suprised by a sudden gust of wind that seemed to blow from no where. Now she had made it outside, which was the first step. She headed toward town, looking for her usual bodyguard meeting place. The Colored Ale, this was the meeting spot that she had made friends with a bounty hunter, on her first little "outing." She headed inside keeping her eyes covered.

Evion smiled, the mischievous gleam returned in her green eyes. Extending her hand, the heiress said happily, "Evion Rokoj. I daresay, I prefer Ev or some other less... sophisticated sounding name."

The guards, who had watched the Witch through narrowed eyes leave, finally relaxed somewhat. Their charge was making a friendly exchange with those who had before threatened them and the young heiress. However, the lead guard took great notice unto the switch between the noble and his servant. With a grunt and a gentle nudge, the man approached his princess and leaned to whisper in her ear.

Ev turned to face the man. "Yes, Sir?" She sat and listened only a moment before she waved him away. "Oh shush. Honestly. Must you be so... so... so austere?" The young woman giggled. "I must say, if I had a lady with me, I'd be asking her to do the same with me." Evion turned and winked at the other pair of travelers, then faced the guard again. "Maybe you would like to trade outfits with me, Sir? I must say, this corset is unbearably uncomfortable..." She gave a small pout.

Jaw tightening, the guard moved back to stand with his men. His discontent at the heiress's audacious comments, which had been stated so plainly in the presence of another high-ranking person, was undeniable.

Another giggle was emitted from the woman's pink lips. "As you wish, Sir." Evion returned her attention to Fox. "Anyways. Who is your friend? The noble from before?" she asked with a grin.
PostPosted: Tue Sep 25, 2007 3:46 pm

Fox took her hand gently, then swiftly raised it to his lips for a brief, and perhaps unexpected, kiss. The heir gave her a roguish grin, though a charming one. "A beautiful name, my Lady," the grey-haired man said, releasing her hand as he did. "And how is Bractus? I haven't been since your... 13th birthday party, was it?" Fox said with a laugh. It wasn't altogether that uncommon for the noble families to pop up at each other's events, and there were always plenty of those. "You may not have noticed me though - it was quite an event, and you probably had many introductions that day. So, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, even if for a second time," the older heir said with a small, cordial bow. His wink, though, belied any inkling that he might be overly formal or dull.

Angel, of course, knew this routine altogether too well. He simply sat quietly and let his master meet and greet, though he fervently hoped Fox would remember to be plenty respectful. They were in the presence of three royal guards, after all, so any offense too great would be likely to reach the king's ears. His friend did nothing more than make him roll his eyes, however. You are such a rogue, Angel thought, though a hint of a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. What could he say? Some things you learned to love.

Both Fox and Angel uncertainly watched the guard approach Ev. The two exchanged a glance that clearly meant, at least to them, Are we going to get found out? It had been an especially common glance when they'd been younger, but the pair's worries turned out to be less than necessary with this lady. All she did was laugh, much to Angel's surprise and Fox's pleasure. Fox laughed outright when Ev suggested that she and her guard trade outfits. "Maybe you should take her up on it! Lilac looks like it would suit your complexion," the grey-haired man said to the guard, his eyes twinkling devilishly. Angel couldn't help but smile; Fox was so predictable, at least to him.

"Ah, yes!" Fox said when Ev asked about Angel's identity. The heir considered introducing Angel for him, but that had always seemed such a cold way to treat a best friend. As far as Fox was concerned, they were on equal footing. Fox turned in his saddle to look at Angel, with a look that always meant one thing. Angel looked back, trying to convey the message don't you dare. Evidently, though, his psychic powers were failing him that day, as Fox just grinned and gestured for him to introduce himself. Angel gave a subtle shake of his head, looking nervously at Lady Ev. It wasn't his place to introduce himself to a noble Lady!

Fox was having none of it, though. "Oh, come now! Don't be shy," the heir said with a smile. Angel should him a quick, dagger-filled look, then straightened himself a little in his saddle and bowed low to the Lady. "My name is Angel Harley, called Angel. I am the personal servant of Prince Fox. It is an honor to make your aquaintence," the redhead said, his voice poised but slightly nervous as well. Fox just beamed at him. I'm putting a fish in your sleeping roll tonight, the servant thought sourly.

The kiss, unexpected as it was, made the young heiress's face glow with mischief and a blush. "Ah! Yes! I remember you, Lord Fox! You were the one that tipped one of my mother's ladies-in-waiting into the fishpond! I thought she was a wet blanket before... Not until she came out all soaked, however! I must thank you sincerely for such an excellent laugh!" Ev gave an innocent grin, discreetly winking at the other two men, as she added, "Thank you, also, for understanding why Sir and I should trade."

The guard did nothing but give a defiant snort at Fox's comment, though. The other two guards, however, had to bite their cheeks to keep from laughter.

After Angel had introduced himself, Evion gave a genuinely delighted smile. "Indeed! It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, m'Lord Angel." She gave him a slight bow, much to her guards' dislikes. "Why so nervous, sir? Are you afraid that Witch will come back? Oi! Those Witches serve our kingdoms a great slight!"

Evion shook her head before continuing. "Anyways. I'm sorry for my rudeness before. I take it personally if my fun is ruined. They gave chase only because this had been the third time I've run ahead." Evion rolled her eyes melodramatically and shook her head, her silver-blue hair shimmering in the light.

"Father hates it when I do such things... Enough of my babble, though. How is Primeria? I remember the one time I went with Father on business. It happened that there was a ball being hosted or something of the sort..."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 25, 2007 7:16 pm

Fox let out a full laugh at the memory of that particular incident. "Ah, you're welcome for both! There's no need to thank me, even - I thought her rather dull as well! She'd spanked me twice as a child on two different visits, and I can't say I appreciated either one," the heir confessed, remembering how he'd had only to stick out his foot and let her trip on it, mean thing that she was. And of course, he'd followed it up with a big show of apologies and chivalry. Even Angel remembered the incident, judging by his grin. Angel didn't like her much either.... Looked down on him, if I remember, Fox thought, glancing over at his friend. Angel gave a subtle nod and smile in confirmation; the redhead knew what his master was thinking. "And lilac would suit your man's complexion," Fox added after a moment, a slow smile growing. "But some, we might as well ride while we speak!" the heir said, turning his elegant horse in the proper direction on the road.

Angel moved his blood bay to a spot just a pace or two behind Fox's steed, on the left. The right side of a male heir was for the more respected guest, which was Lady Ev in this case. Angel often tried to ride to Fox's left when they were alone as well, but Fox would rarely let him do so. Fox waited for Lady Ev to join him on his right before proceeding down the road in earnest. "They do, M'Lady," Angel responded when asked why he was so nervous, giving a small duck of the head as well. There was more he could have said, to be sure, but Angel liked to keep himself brief with most nobles - other than Fox, of course. He also kept quiet unless directly addressed, unless of course Fox pushed him into such a situation.

Both Fox and Angel listened attentively while the young noble spoke. Fox waved away her apology, though. "Oh, don't think twice about it. I do such things to Angel as well - it drives him crazy," the grey-haired noble said with a chuckle. Angel gave his master a dry look, then sighed. Well, it is true, the red haired servant thought with a weak smile. Fox's eyes lit up a little bit when she mentioned that this was the third time she'd done it, though.

So! Fox thought happily, she doesn't mind a bit of adventure! How refreshing to see in a lady. Then again, he had heard rumors about Bractusian heir. Perhaps more of them were credible than he'd thought. But, if she liked a little excitement... Fox smiled quietly to himself. He imagined the two of them would get along well.

"Ahh, I believe I remember that. The dress you wore was quite unusually colored and patterned, I believe. We had noble ladies imitating the style for months afterward!" Fox said, his voice halfway between pensive and amused with a little slice of laughter on the side. His grey eyes met Ev's light green ones for one moment, and he smiled. "Primeria is doing quite well. It's a beautiful land, especially in the spring," Fox answered after just a heartbeat's pause. He held her gaze for another instant, then winked and turned back to the road, a smile on his lips. "Have you met any of the other heirs yet?" Fox asked, still scanning the road. He had met a few of them briefly before, but he knew none of them personally.

Angel, in the meantime, simply watched the surroundings, leaving the nobles to their talk. He didn't mind the silence in the slightest - in fact, after too long with Fox it could be rather refreshing. They had been traveling largely in silence all morning, though... The redhead glanced back at the guards, wondering if any of them would perhaps be up for some conversation...

She quietly drank the alchohol the bartender had given her, she was quiet and obviously extremely bored. She rested her head on her arms and wished that someone interesting would come along, tired of having to search them out. "Bartender.."She asked and lifted her head, looking to the man tending the bar, scrubbing glass mugs with a ragged cloth. "Yes, M'lady?" He asked her. She pushed some hair out of her face with her right hand,"You wouldn't happen to know of any..important..characters, would you?" She asked.

"Evion Rokoj, I heard, was somewhere nearby." He said, Iandra sighed and shook her head. "Any others?" She asked him. The bartender seemed to be thinking deeply, tapping an index finger against his chin, feeling the stubble. "Sorry, not that I know of M'lady. It seems there are no people of importance these days.."He started to say,"Other than yourself, of course." He added on, knowing she was one of the 3 Witches.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 26, 2007 6:48 am

Evion, recognizing the gesture that Fox and Angel had just done, urged Tanyon forward to Fox's level. Father and his annoying traditions... Don't do this, but be sure to do that... Sighing inwardly, the heiress smiled outwardly.

"It must be nice to travel with a friend." Evion glanced back then lowered her melodic voice where only Fox and Angel could hear, adding with a playful sigh, "Guards can be such sticklers when it comes to fun... Rules... 'danger'..." Evion straightened. She gave a subtle wink, continuing. "Father refused to let any other lady come sadly." Giving a shrug, she stated thoughtfully, "I don't believe many are talkative. And if they are, they're very good at following the 'proper' procedure."

The guards rode silently behind them, only a few paces. Only Sir rode near to Angel, but he remained a little ways behind the servant, his rank superior to Sir's own. The guards were still wary, untrusting as they were, of strangers.

The young heiress was unable to hide the smile that exploded on to her pale face after noticing Fox's eyes twinkle after her mention of the chases she'd made. Ah yes! He was always the one for fun! Always made me laugh, Fox did! She pictured a few more incidents from their youth, then returned to the present as Fox was speaking.

"Really? A fashion? After me? Well... That's intriguing. I must tell Father. He believed that dress was hideous." A smile of mischief danced upon her lips. "I thought it quite suitable for the time. Father kept saying how his business was grave and that I should behave myself. I did behave, but I think I made a few people laugh... Including you, I think? I can't be sure..." She giggled slightly.

"Anyways. I've not met any other heirs, no. We've been alone on the road, so far as I can tell. I did meet a few at random events. Such as my 13th birthday..." Here she gave a small grin. "But they rarely talked to me. Father claims it's my unladlylike qualities." Another small laugh erupted from her lips. "Have you, Lord Fox?" she inquired.

Vassal
2 days ago

All ears were waiting with such anticipation to hear Vassals words, yet the man refrained from speaking just yet. Instead he rose from his knelling stance and looked at the king with every so often wandering eyes towards the Queen. No, it was not that he liked her, even though she was beautiful the thought itself would be dishonorable, something he would never do. No, when he looked at her, his eyes were filled with concern, and as his eyes drifted back between the two, it was as if he was trying to direct the King's attention to the Queen.

Vassal knew he could not leave the king waiting much longer though, at first he hoped Gerhis would take a hint, but he did not. So he spoke as sincere as he could muster,
"Sire, the words I am about to say, perhaps it would be best if the Queen was not present at the time. It might be best for you to fill her in when the time is needed." Just as he finished speaking, he could feel cold eyes glaring at him, the Queen, she must of been filed with utter dread, and seemed heartsick to hear what it could be. Vassal could only off a glimpse of help, "It is about your son."

Now he could truly see a dreaded shock on the Queen, and just a fluttering flash of surprise on Gerhis before composure resolved. "Our son?" His eyes drifted towards Faythe, and understood what was going through her mind. "vassal, whatever it is, hold it not back, for he is her son as well, she has the right to hear."

"I understand your majesty," On a normal day Vassal would never bring up something so trivial to the king, but today was different, "Your son has gone missing, and I can not find him anywhere in the castle."

A sigh of relief came from the king, and he shook his head in a simple thought, almost as if he was trying to shake a smile off his face. Oh he knew well enough about the Prince spontaneously disappearing, probably adventuring as always, actually it was that reason that he hired Vassal in the first place. Vassal always kept a good eye on Ziren, but the king knew there was a reason that the man could not find his son, it was because today was a special day. "Of course you couldn't find him in the castle., he's leaving on an adventure, he should be well on his wa-"

"No sire," this time it was Vassal's turn to shake his head, "I saw him leave on his horse, but I noticed something. The horse bare no burden on its shoulder. Horses are indeed strong, but its posture showed no resistance, there was nothing there where the Prince was. I've known well enough of Ziner's skills to know that magic was afoot. So I quickly trailed behind, and sure enough he disappeared, but every time he did that before, he would always spring out hoping his clever ruse would surprise me, but I made it all the way back here and seen no trace of him... there's odd about this..."

Pure white stricken face upon both the parents face, Gehris caught on to what Vassal was eluding to. No way the Prince would be playing a practical joke at such a time, for he knew his son was determined on venturing out and requested to leave as early as possible. There would be no way he would wait around to pull pranks. So if he disappeared.. it must of been the work of... "the witches!" His words seemed to almost make the queen faint.

"Yes, I fear that might be the case."

A moment pause, "They must have stole him away to their castle. They can't risk killing him, or they know we'd go to an all out war with them. It must only be to hinder the questing group. They may even try to use him as a way to stop us from questing." Now that would be a dreadful thing. He shook his face free of chagrin and a little hope filled. "Vassal, take Captain Cross with you, and head over to Dresnia. If they try to use him as leverage, you two shall spring him free."

"Yes Sire!"
Vassal bowed and started to walk away, however, the king stopped him once more.

"Vassal, this is top secret, you two will be on your own till the situation is handled."

"I understand, we will be back with your son when this is all over, rest assured."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In hindsight Vassal couldn't believe they were so ready to pin it on the witches... if only he gave it a few more moments of thought, he could of figured out the real truth... Ah... the power of hindsight.
[[Lol Akapoli, I know mine looks like a storybook format, but rest assured... lol XD... I am doing this for flash back reference haha, so it'll switch back over to normal 4-5 paragraphs after a bit]]
